Love their food and their service, go out to breakfast there often and it's one of my favorite spots in Oswego.

This place is still fabulous! I drove up from Virginia to see relatives and drove an extra hour to have breakfast at Wade's. This was my first visit in 10 years and the place has been largely rebuilt but the food was the same great taste. I got the veggie omelet and should have ordered the three egg option, it was so tasty. The cinnamon raisin bread is like no other and I got a double order. Before I left I grabbed 2 loaves to take home. If you are in the Oswego area this is a must stop! read more

Great breakfast, always packed. Staff is very friendly. I've tried the bread they sell there and ta okay. I'm not a huge toast or bread person so I don't get the appeal but if you're looking for a good breakfast spot, this is the only place in town I recommend. read more

Been coming here for breakfast since I was a kid in the 70s and it's still the best breakfast in the world! The home fries are amazing, the omelettes are fantastic and the cinnamon raisin bread alone is worth the trip. Besides the fabulous food the service is fast & friendly and the prices are a bargain. This diner has been open for 81 years. There was a fire in 2015 therefore the building now is new since 2016. Very busy, fast service. Finally made it since the reopening, and we were not disappointed. I had the Frittata yum. the rest had eggs, home fries and bacon there was nothing left on the plates. I wish they weren't so crowded on weekends, we would go more often. read more

I love this place. Nice staff always willing to explain something/help you decide between items and the prices are unbeatable. I am a personal fan of the biscuits and gravy, my partner is a personal fan of the pancakes and hash brows. I went before and after the very unfortunate fire, the after is such an improvement in terms of space/seating and the aesthetic is very diner/comfortable. The restaurant has always been friendly, clean and delicious to my knowledge. I usually go after the early morning rush so it's always been fairly slow when I go but when I have gone during the busy time I felt my waitress was still very attentive and the service was still very fast. read more

Definitely my favorite diner in Oswego. First off, in a first for anywhere in Oswego, the service here is both friendly AND competent. What a novel concept, eh? Oh, and the food is pretty darn good. The pancakes here are what pancakes should be and never are (aka, HUGE), the biscuits and gravy were not the best I've ever had but they were solidly done and are the best I've had in the greater Oswego area. The bacon 'n cheese omelet, however, was amazing. I have no idea what they did to it to make it so tasty but it was fantastic. Definitely try their omelets when you go. read more

This was a no go for my family, it was clean, service was friendly but food was not good and it was cold by the time we got it. I got an eggs Benedict it was smothered in the hollandaise sauce which consisted of a lot of oil, one of my eggs was runny the other was over cooked. Average 10.00 a meal it's over priced for the quality. We love supporting local business but unfortunately we won't be returning. read more

Came to breakfast at Wade's diner and I was seated at the bar in front of the kitchen and I therefore I was able to see the cooks in action and saw that they use lots of cooking oil to cook their food. The food came out very greasy and the taste was just OK. The other thing I wasn't pleased with is that they don't use fresh vegetables on their omelettes it seems like all their vegetables are canned products. Definitely will not be going back for breakfast there anymore. read more

The food and prices at Wade's are excellent! From their famous raisin toast to the omelettes your taste buds can't go wrong. Why 4 stars and not 5? Well parking can be difficult. There is minimal space which at times can have you parking just down the street (on 9th Street). Also this is an old school diner so it doesn't seat 100 people so during busy times (especially Sunday mornings) be prepared to stand in line to wait for a table or the counter to open up.My advice would be to get there early on Sunday's to try and beat the crowds. Also Wade's does not accept debit/credit it's cash only. But if need be the Byrne Dairy next door does have an ATM machine. Having said all that the food and staff are both amazing so go check it out. read more

I have been coming to Waze for many years. I am extremely disappointed in the breakfast I was served the other day. It look like a bunch of drunks behind a grill preparing slop instead of quality food that I ordered. I ordered the western omelette it came with canned green peppers no onions and the omelette was throwing together. The home fried potatoes were black and burnt to a crisp. I will no longer be stopping at this establishment or I feel that my money needs to go 2 a business that respects its customers. Their prices are very high and the food quality is extremely low. Save your money save the hassle of parking and find yourself another restaurant. read more

Be sure to bring an appetite because the portions are huge! This is an old-fashioned diner with old-fashioned friendly service. The food is delicious and it's the best breakfast in town. Everything is reaonably priced and the service is superb! The pancakes are so large they spill over on the plate. You will never find a better raisin toast anywhere. It's heavenly. The drawbacks are the lack of parking and the sometimes long line waiting for seating, but it's well worth the wait. If you are looking for a good home-cooked, diner-style meal, this is the place. They seem to have taken a slide. Last time I would have given them 5 stars, but now there's margarine instead of butter, fake "cream" for the coffee, and the coffee is weak. The toast was chewy instead of crunchy everything was greasy, even by "greasy spoon" standards. read more

Wades is a must stop for breakfast... even if you only order the cinnamon raisin bread. If you love it as much as I do, call ahead and order a fresh loaf (uncut) to take with you. Since their remodel, getting a seat is much quicker and overall the place is significantly cleaner. I marvel at the staff's (especially Tracy) ability to take your order without writing a thing down. Warning - come with cash because they don't take any other form of payment. Wish they offered fresh iced tea! This is a classic diner with a long history in Oswego - well worth the stop. read more

This update is an attempt to mitigate the bad taste anyone may have after reading my original review. I realize the review I wrote years ago is still seen today, and it may not be as accurate. The owner, Mr. Anthony Zappala, informed me that things have changed in terms of cleanliness. The staff with the attitude, he explained, may have just been misunderstood sass. I'm not completely unfamiliar with those awkward situations. I'm a straightforward person, and sass tends to come off as rudeness to me. However, since I now live on the opposite end of the country, I most likely won't get the opportunity to give this place another shot. Still, I feel it is my responsibility to tell the truth, and if I can't do that, then I'd like to truthfully admit I cannot tell the truth-- about Wade's Diner, that is. I haven't seen it in five years, and I'd like to believe Mr. Zappala was honest in his claims. So for all those taking my review seriously when considering visiting Wade's, do not totally disregard it, but I encourage you to give them a shot and see for yourself. Also, I am giving a rating of four stars-- as a sign of good faith. read more

The best omelette in town! Very cheesy and delicious. They make their own raisin bread, which is wonderful. Staff is great. I've read reviews that the home fries aren't good, to which I would respond that first they are spaced potatoes not cubes is I would have expected. Second they are a bit bland, but since every seat has a basket with salt, pepper, three types of hot sauce and ketchup, if you are dissatisfied with the seasoning you have yourself to blame. I've never had burned home fries so that may have been a fluke. The prices are reasonable. Did I mention it's the best omelette in town, possibly the best omelette I've ever had? read more

Great food, wonderful staff, the prices are right, the portions are good and awesome atmosphere. It is like cheers, everyone knows your name and they're always glad you came. My wife and I have been going there for a decade and before that I went there with my mom and dad. Best diner in Oswego county. Without wades there is no place in the city of Oswego good to eat breakfast. I recommend the fritatta or the pepperoni and cheese omlett. read more

You've already read about the food at Wade's so let me say this: I went to college in Oswego and the best advice my advisor ever gave me was to check out this diner. I lived in Oswego for five years...went as often as I could...moved away twenty five years ago and still try to get back once a year just for breakfast. It's 300 miles each way from where I now live and worth every mile. Find a good reason to go to Oswego and try Wade's. Two things will happen. One, you'll be glad you made the trip no matter how far it is and, two, you'll wonder what's up with Bert W. read more

Wade's Diner makes the best omelette I have ever had in my life. I now live 6 hours away from Oswego, and still drive up to visit 6 hours at least once a year in part to eat this breakfast. It's at the point where I can't even eat an omelette anymore because I constantly compare them to the ones at Wade's. Yes, this place is extremely divey, and you may have to wait a good 15-20 minutes, but it is all part of the experience. The waitresses are always lovely and are quick with your order. The omelette is huge and cheesy and cooked to perfection every time. I definitely recommend getting the cinnamon raisin bread as well; it is made there and is so delicious. Honorary mention goes to the pancakes, which are bigger than my head and are filled with buttery goodness. read more

Heard about this place and that they made a great frittata. So i ordered a whole one with great expectations. It didn't have the normal broccoli used by others. It was very good however was not very big i easily ate the whole order. Go to the Little Gem or Stella's in Syracuse and get one with a lot more meat, cheese and broccoli for the same price, and leave with enough to eat for another meal. And don't plan on using a credit card, cash only. read more

One word describes breakfast here - damn!! It was very busy when we arrived so we sat at the counter & placed our order. The cook/server was very attentive, kept coffee cups filled & made small talk/eavesdropped a bit, but all in friendliness/good humor. I ordered the two egg ham & cheese omelet, with raisin bread & home fries. Oh my goodness it was by far the best omelet I have ever had. I have never seen so much cheese in an omelet and they use good ham (diced fine), but it is not cheap deli ham you'd get at other places. The raisin bread - delicious and I was happy to find out they will ship it if you do nor live in the area. Home fries - perfect, just the right amount of crispy potatoes, they know how to cook them right. The cook added chocolate chips to my little guy's pancakes & together with my husband's breakfast everything came to about $20. Yes they only take cash, yes it is an older, not a fancy restaurant, but the quality of the food is phenomenal, we barely ate anything else all day we were so full. Highly recommend, just get there eat & sit at the counter, you won't be disappointed. read more

well maybe times have changed at wades . after ordering 2 eggs cornbeef hash toast and coffee the price with tip was 10.00. the eggs were not cooked right, and the serving of cornbeef hash was maybe a serving for a smalll kid but with a hefty price of 2.95. I could understand it if they were busy , but they were not . Maybe 10-15 people were there. No i would not recomand this place to anyone. read more
