Very casual place in Chandler. I had the fried shrimp basket and it was fantastic. Friench fries were some of the best I've ever had. Others in our party had fried fish and fried oysters. We ordered fried pickles with buttermilk ranch dressing. Fried catfish basket, and crawfish etouffee. Everything was wonderful. The catfish was some of the best I've had. My shrimp po boy was terrific. The slaw on it is fresh and tasty the way it should be. Battered fried shrimp gave a nice crunch. The bread was soft ,which is a nice change from the hard baguette style po boys served at Fish City Grill which is falling out of favor with me. I liked the fries and my wife's burger was HUGE. Two patties, I'm not sure if they made a mistake with her burger. One patty would have been fine. Portions were huge. I'm not sure what the reviews were talking about that said it was expensive for tiny portions. 22 dollars for a delicious lunch for two with unlimited tea and free beans is not expensive at all. I love Wades Place. Ann and Wade are great people with a great mind for food. The food is delicious. If you haven't tried their boiled shrimp then you don't know what you are missing. Also the Crawfish are to die for and the Ribeye will hit the spot. It is tucked away in Chandler but if you are close by it is the best food you can get. Absolutely awesome! This was our first time there. Can get crowded but they do a great job cleaning and bussing the tables to keep tables cleared for the next party. The food is awesome! We ordered the catfish and shrimp dinner as well as a few pounds of boiled crawfish. Everything came out perfect. The crawfish were tasty and huge. The catfish was fried perfect (instead of over fried like some places). The fried shrimp were huge and the batter was quite tasty. Can't wait to get back there! read more

Can't believe there aren't numerous rave reviews for this restaurant! Tiny Chandler has a couple of fast food restaurants and a couple of Mexican food restaurants - and an EXCELLENT restaurant with fresh Gulf shrimp, hand cut steaks, fantastic fresh catfish, an amazing hamburger made with - wait for it - real honest REAL beef!! We visit in this area a couple of times a year (Lake Palestine) and this unassuming restaurant has better food than what we have found in Tyler. You can BYOB so a cold one with the amazing fried shrimp can be enjoyed. Seriously - try this place, it's wonderful to stumble on a restaurant that has true passion for cooking good food at its heart. We haven't tried all items (crawfish for example) because of our limited time in the area but we plan to! read more

Wade's is the Place! We try to eat here at least twice a month. I have been to many places and their catfish cannot be beat. My grandson and nephew who said they don't like fish, are now fish experts due to Wade's!. They request to go here all the time. I love the shrimp boil and the grilled fish tacos. Large portions of fish and seafood, much of it fried. They do have grilled and broiled options as well plus steaks and burgers. The fried food is good but tastes over salted. They have free beans but are not my favorite. Decor is very minimal with sheet metal, unfinished board, and folding tables. Service is so so as you order from the register and take a number. They have some desserts, usually cake, that is pretty good. Outside, they have picnic tables which are good when the weather is nice. read more

I called to ask some general questions regarding cawfish prices and trends at Wades...The lady that answered the phone could not answer my questions, I believe she got frustrated, set the phone down, May or may not have called me a jack ass. I've been coming here for several years now, and only ever ordered three things: the burger, the oyster po' boy, and the boiled crawfish. I've had the fried pickles, catfish, gumbo, beans and fries, as well. It's all good - the po' boy is the best I've ever had, hands down, and they always come out looking display-case fresh. But it's the crawfish that set Wade's apart. I'm a crawfish person, and if you're a crawfish person too, you know what I mean. Crawfish season is a narrow window for which I'm excited all year round, and finding a reasonably priced purveyor is challenging (in DFW I've seen them at $14.95/lb - NOPE!!!). So my hopes are high when I indulge in a crawfish feast, because I can't afford to waste an experience on a disappointing feast of small, bland, overpriced crawfish. According to a staff member, their boil recipe is original. And it's not so spicy or salty that you miss the savory; it's unique and SPECTACULAR. And not only were all the bugs medium-to-ginormous-sized, they're all done perfectly. And by perfectly, I mean, I didn't have a single pulverized one in the *ahem*4lbs* ahem* I put away. Not one. They throw mushrooms into the boil, which are SUCH a good idea and should be canonized into the national standard, if they aren't already, and every lb comes with corn and potatoes. AND, although they were crazy busy, and it was Saturday night, and we got there an hour and a half before they closed, they didn't run out. So yeah, Wade's is worth whatever the drive, especially if it's crawfish season. It's BYOB, so be prepared if that's important, but they do provide buckets of ice. No, the ambiance isn't "impressive", but if your date is too good for Wade's, she's probably not "the one". The staff has always been friendly, though they do get busy...but considering it ISN'T a "table service" restaurant, hence the pre-pay line and self-serve drink, flatware and bean station, I've always been happy with the attention they've given me. If your date is too good for Wade's but you want to keep her anyway, chances are you'll be able to impress her in the gift shop next door which is FULL of cute stuff and definitely worth a walk-through. read more

I live so far down the bayous of south LA that if you want to go any further south you have to be in a boat. All I'm trying to say is that I know my boiled crawfish. I wasn't expecting a whole lot from this place but I was pleasantly surprised. As good as most and better than a lot of the places back home. My only suggestion is that they learn to make and serve the dip (mainly mayo and ketchup...but can include many other condiments) read more
