The waffle farm is a cozy well kept secret in Lincoln, California. It gives you old-school diner vibes with new aged typed menu. You're gonna have your classic options but a little bit more elevated in my opinion. Like for example today I got a turkey avocado, lettuce, tomato sandwich, and instead of the traditional fries. Came in on Christmas Eve for breakfast. It is a cute little spot I have been wanting to try. We were seated right away and the hostess got our order drink going. They came out pretty quick. We did wait a bit for the waitress to come get our order, but in her defense it was a little crowded at the time and she had food orders coming out. The food came out really quick and good sized portions for the price. The food was hot and had flavor. I would say we did wait for a hot minute to get our check though. I husband was watching our waitress talking to a guy for a good 10-15 minutes. She eventually came with our check. She was very nice though. Not a bad place to come for breakfast. Waffle Farm has always been a favorite for breakfast and we've been coming here when they were Waffle Batn. We recently tried them for lunch and they didn't disappoint! I got the famous taco salad and if you're a fan of the taco salad that use to be served @Taco Bell, then this is up your alley. The cheeseburger was decent, it didn't have onion but had lettuce and tomato. Now Waffle Farm is a winner for good ol hearty country breakfast and we've tried many of their dishes. It was my first time here and while the servers were friendly, I felt they could have been a little more attentive. Not once were we checked on during our meal and they handed us the check before we were finished. The biggest reason for my poor review is the food. I ordered the steak and it was the toughest and fattiest piece of meat I've been served at any restaurant. I was chewing and chewing, but had to spit it out. I didn't get the chance to tell my server since he only appeared when giving us the check and by then I was ready to leave. I like that in addition to an extensive and varied menu, they have smaller portions for children and the 60+ crowd. The orange juice was reconstituted poorly, and there was extra concentrate in the bottom of my glass. I had home fries with my breakfast burrito, and the onions in the fries were almost raw. The potatoes themselves weren't cooked that well and left a lot to be desired in terms of crunch and flavor. It is like they do not use it, a mistake as many of us prefer open dining. Clean and open, huge 10-person booths a plus for families and groups. Food - ok, better than IHOP or Denny's. Too much gravy IMOP, so get it on the side. Good gravy. Hash browns taste like slight grease vs. Butter fried. When I did line cooking, we had real butter melted in a stainless steel bowl for slopping on the grill for eggs and potatoes. I'm not sure they do that here. Went to Waffle Barn for breakfast with my wife. It was pretty meh. The coffee was terrible. Not burned or anything; just very low-grade. Think Folgers, but not as good. I think coffee needs to be good if you're a breakfast place. Maybe that's just me. The eggs and toast were good. The bacon was generally good, but one piece tasted... off. The waffles were okay. I got the one with apple compote and it tasted like pie filling from a can, which I guess is fine, but not special. The service was good and fast, and the restaurant was clean and fairly busy. My friends met up with my boyfriend & I to get lunch and were seated right away. Our awesome server was TINA!!! I capitalize her name because one of my friends at our table got her name wrong, SHAME ON HIM, lol, but she was an amazing sport about it. The boys got a Patty Melts, while the girls ordered a California type of burger (comes with avocado, lettuce, but got spinach instead, tomato, spinach and I switched out for shredded jack cheese) and Joes special (spinach & veggie scramble with house potatoes.) We ordered crispy fries with the burger & patty melts. We chatted until our food came out. My California type burger looked nice, except it was a frozen patty. I had requested it to be cooked meduim rare... thank goodness it came out overcooked, but it was not even good. You shouldn't do that with frozen patties. There was no flavor. There was hardly any avocado, and the fries weren't crispy. None of our fries were crispy. The party melts were meduim well instead of medium rare. My friend Joe's Special had hardly any spinach. Potatoes seemed undercooked to her. She got a biscuit & gravy side with it... I think they're trying to give that gravy away by the plate full because, as usual, the biscuit was so disguised under the gravy, you wouldn't know it was there. None of us wanted to complain because it was edible. The salt & paper shakers were clogged. The table was sticky... it was kind of a mess today. I did like how nice TINA was. She is a great server. Showed up yesterday for some breakfast with friends before heading out for a day of golf. One of our friends lived in the area and had wanted to try out the Waffle Farm, so there we were. Menu was extensive for breakfast. Apparently we all made the wrong choice. No one particularly enjoyed their breakfast. I had the sausage & eggs over a biscuit w/ country gravy & hash browns. Others had a waffle w/ eggs and one just a standard breakfast. My breakfast had no distinct flavor. Just kind of flavorless. On the bright side...the breakfast did come out very quickly, so if you're in a hurry...there's that. I'm not sure what other options there are in this area, but I'd look elsewhere. read more

My friend is only a few minutes' drive from the lovely Waffle Farm and he wanted to us to try it out with him. We beat the crowd by arriving around 830 am on Sunday morning. We were promptly seated and attended to. All the staff were super cheerful and helpful. My friend got the special country fried steak and my wife got the country fried scramble. They both raved about the gravy & biscuits - that it was not salty and just a perfect complement to protein in their meal. As for me, I got a waffle deluxe. I was so thrilled that I got 4 pieces of sausage instead of 2, which I commonly get whenever I order a meal with sausage at other places. I took our server's suggestion and got blueberries (and whipped cream) on top of my waffle. Hands down this was one of the best waffles I have ever had. My words won't do it justice. But you just have to order a waffle when you go to the Waffle Farm (duh ) because the taste, the consistency, the flavor is perfect. read more

I frequent this restaurant and have never had a bad experience until last Saturday. I brought my daughter in and had Tina as our waitress. She never smiled, and made me feel unwelcome. Glared at me and never checked on us. I had to ask a busboy for coffee and got decaf because he didn't know what I wanted. My daughter's biscuit was hard as a rock so we never said anything. There is nothing like a great breakfast to get your day started the right way! Of course, there's no better way to enjoy your great breakfast than dining at a super friendly restaurant, and when "super friendly" comes to mind, I think of Waffle Farm, located in Lincoln, CA. As you enter the restaurant, a friendly staff member will meet you, and seat you. You'll notice the "country " theme decor and the breakfast counter, with the kitchen behind the counter. In previous days the counter would have been a very popular place to enjoy your breakfast, but with the current state restrictions, thanks to the COVID-19 virus, all dining at the counter, along with all indoor dining is not happening. The first page of the menu features lunch selections, including hamburgers, sandwiches, along with soups and salads. It's diner fare, which is among my favorite food. Waffle Farm is open for breakfast and lunch, and anything on the menu is available any time the restaurant is open. Waffle Farm features a large, comfortable patio for outdoor dining enjoyment. As per state mandate, the patio is surrounded by a small fence, so beer and wine can be enjoyed on the patio. Thanks to the COVID-19 virus, the state has mandated that restaurant in Placer County only allow outdoor dining. For me, that is not a problem, as unless the weather is rainy or excessively foggy, I prefer to dine outdoors, as I think it makes my food taste better. From the "Farm Favorites" section of the breakfast menu, I ordered "Polish Sausage" as the "star" of my breakfast. The menu states, "All Farm Favorites are served with two eggs, country potatoes or hashbrowns, and biscuit and gravy or toast and jelly." Toast and jelly or biscuit and gravy? ...that's really easy for me to decide! My large Polish sausage was split in half, and grilled to perfection The sausage was split just enough so it held together, yet when cut into bite-size pieces, it was easy to split apart, which was a nice tough. The sausage was on the large size - Waffle Farm does not "skimp" on portions - and was juicy and tender. The serrated knife was really just for decoration, as the sausage was super juicy and pork tender. It's always difficult to choose between hash brown or country potatoes, but for me, the year 2020 seems to be the "year of the hashbrowns" so I went with hash brown potatoes. My potatoes were cooked just the way good hashbrowns should arrive, fried perfectly crispy golden brown on the outside, and chewy tender inside. I noted these amazing hashbrowns weren't salty or greasy, and had the perfect taste. You could categorize me as a lover of fine hash brown potatoes! My order of eggs over easy arrived exactly as I ordered them - fried over easy - perfectly fried over easy, which is the mark of a breakfast chef who cooks with talent. The biscuit was light and fluffy, and covered with delicious, creamy sausage gravy. Such a great side! I gobbled down the biscuit and scooped the remaining gravy on my hash brown potatoes for an added taste sensation. Delicious food, served by some of the friendliest staff in Lincoln, on a sunny patio, with a relaxing view of the west Lincoln landscape. Sound good?
