I didn't like this Waffle House at all. My bacon was burnt, my silverware was dirty (had chocolate residue on my knife) my waffle was rubbery, my water had dirty pieces floating in it, and on my waffle I saw a little Hair on it after I already started eating it and instantly stopped, and it was really cold inside my food got cold very fast. The server was nice but everything else was terrible. It was a germaphobes worst nightmare. I'm pretty positive I won't come back. read more

I travel the state for business and whenever I can I stop at a Waffle House for dinner...brace yourself...I don't order their waffles or any breakfast items for that matter! They have a great "additional" menu that has the "chicken dinner" which is two grilled chicken breasts, hash browns, and a side salad. I get it every time and it is consistent everywhere in the state. Now, as for this location, totally awesome. It is on par with the location in Leesburg, FL which I've reviewed. My meal (as stated above) was hot and fresh, the establishment was clean, the condiments were full, and the staff was fun to chat and laugh with! Everything a Waffle House experience should be! I'll be back here again as it's an area I travel regularly for business and in walking distance from my hotel. Great job, staff and management! read more

I know it's odd to review a chain like Waffle House, but I've been coming to this one for so long and I have to say that they're consistently on their game. I feel that this review can help others despite it's well-known chain status because this one is different than most. It sets the standards on how Waffle Houses ought to be. I always used this Waffle House as a paradigm for Waffle Houses out there, and none have matched it both in service and in quality of food. In the recent past, I realized there were mass problems with many of the Waffle Houses, especially around the Central Florida region. For instance, some would undercook the waffles, others would overcook it, some servers would ignore us, others would stick their finger in our drinks when they gave them to us, etc. This Waffle House has had the same GM for a long time and he runs a good Waffle House. The cooks are always well-trained and know what they're doing. My Pecan Waffle is always cooked exactly right. The servers are friendly, and most of them have all their teeth! They still partake in the classic Waffle House mantra, "Good morning" when you walk in in the mornings. Other Waffle Houses have allowed the mundanity of such a practice to ooze into their souls and squash whatever optimism would've allowed for a genuine "good morning." The hashbrowns here are always cooked to order and are delicious whether you get them scattered, smothered, covered, chunked, diced and topped or scattered, smothered covered, peppered, and capped. Hell, just get them scattered all the way! Do yourself a favor and never visit the Waffle House on Colonial near Alafaya. I have given it two tries and both times, I left feeling all kinds of negativity from the experience. Vomit in the bathroom that wouldn't be cleaned up, greasiness escalation, nasty servers (inside and out), and even nastier food. Congratulations to this Waffle House for being consistent for at least 18 years that I've been coming here. Excellent GM and staff that should be commended. I always heard that Dwight Howard agrees with this assessment as this is his favorite Waffle House ever too. They say he's always there, whether its by living there or visiting. read more

Clee Shay was a girl in our town. Everyone dated her. Everyone enjoyed dating her. No one would admit to dating her. Waffle House may be cliche, but I will openly admit that I enjoy the experience. We stopped in and it was prom night. Nothing says "super awesome happy fun times" like a Waffle House full of formal wear wearing kids and flannel wearing drunks. You can walk in the door and forget all your worries, and forget all your cares. I probably had country fried steak. It was probably delicious at the time. I love the coffee. Boy let me tell you Waffle House is some good eatin'. Especially after you've been hitting the scene or have the late night munchies. They are open 24/7. That just rocks my world! Located closely to the 436 exit off of i-4, the Waffle House is kind of tucked away on Douglas. But when you locate it and step in you are whisked back in time to when diner's were popular. The restaurant has been fairly clean each time I have gone there. I mean its a diner, so you can't be all uppity in there. Never had a bad service experience and the food always comes out so flipping fast. I always get a cheese omelet with plain hash browns, bacon, wheat toast, and a side of cheese grits. Man that is a breakfast order that would make Aunt Jemima stop cooking pancakes. While I have always wanted to try the non-breakfast items, I just don't have the heart to do it. I feel like I would be cheating on breakfast. The one thing I always enjoy about this place is how the wait staff puts in their order with the cook. Alright I am going to need 3 scrambled, pull one bacon, hash scattered covered. Man I love that! It's like Waffle House has its own language. Oh by the way they do take credit cards! With no lack of Southern hospitality the atmosphere here is very friendly and refreshing. Driving past this place you might look it over as a place of good food, but basic and simple as the food maybe, it sure is satisfying. The good: the staff is super friendly, since the kitchen is basically beside your table, the service is very fast, they're open 24/7, they're waffles are superb, and to top it off this place is definitely affordable. The bad: if you're heading here for breakfast the wait might be a little long because there aren't very many tables... this place is kinda small. Also since it's a small restaurant and the open kitchen, it can get a little loud. Lastly, the building itself is a little sketchy and unsightly but once you get past that you'll be fine. read more

The service was very good and really friendly. I had never been to a Waffle House before. I wanted a waffle and to try the cheesy eggs. The waffle was pretty good, but already a little soggy when I ate it. Not a fan of their sausage patties or the grits. The cheesy eggs were not good. They make them with American cheese slices or something like Velveeta. The coffee was good and fresh. I felt bad getting rid of most of my meal. I would skip the white toast too. I'm still glad I tried it and I suspect I would have loved the hash browns but it will have to wait for my next trip. read more

It's cheap, loud and quick, but delicious. The staff is friendly with old southern ladies. Where else can you get a steak for 8 bucks? The food is made and served no more than 10 feet from you. The standards are fairly low when it comes to the décor and ambience of the Waffle House chain, but one thing customers never have to sacrifice is the oh-so-bad-for-you-but-hella-delicious food that you'll get whenever you pop into one of these little dives. We come here regular, and I waited and thought about it before reviewing. The cook is fantastic!!!!!!!! We normally have the same cook, and the food is great. Normally there are 2 waitresses working. One is very soft spoken, hard working and nice. We ask for her. The other is LOUD, annoying, she yells and fights at the cook, when cashing out she says to a customer "I cant go home until I do all my work and I'm the only one who does any work here". What??? I saw them all work hard. We customers don't want to hear your arguing with staff, griping complaining and LOUD voice while trying to eat and relax. Get a new job if not happy. On top of it she gets confused really easy and doesn't remember simple things...like if you ask for something she forgets...repeatedly, so I ask the other waitress. When ordering from her, go really slow as she stops to keep repeating the order as she writes it. Two people with orders going slow is too much for her. AWEFUL waitress, who appears to hate her job, is very slow, forgets things, mean, rude, and should NOT be in customer service. We have avoided the place for a while now. read more

My time at Waffle House was by far sub par, and borderline homophobic. Upon arriving to the Waffle House my date and I sat down at an open table. The table next to us had recently been occupied and was covered in odds and ends of dishes. A few moments later a family of three entered and a waitress cleared off the table for them took their orders and retrieved drinks for them. This was well after my date and I sat down. It took another 15 min before we received any service and that took place in for form of this rude woman name Susan. Despite obviously being our waitress she acted like she was not and all but refused to provide service of any kind. Brushing us aside and treating the family. By the time she asked for our drinks(that took another 10 min) she completely served the family their food. Also We did not receive our drinks until after we had already finished our food. Of which we had to remind Susan several times our order. Needless to say her passive aggressive approach to my date and I did not go over well with either of us. read more
