However the rice was hard enough to break a tooth. It was clearly uncooked. The waiter never came to our table to ask how everything was so I had to stop another waiter just to get them to recognize my issue I had. That person got my original waiter who did come over to my table and said she was very sorry and will ask them to remake it. Which in turn took 30 mins just for her to come back and tell me the cooks refused to do my rice over again. Only thing I got was salmon and carrots. My waiter didn't seem to know what she was doing and as previously mentioned she never once came over to my table to check to see if everything was okay or if I needed any assistance. This does not resemble the Cracker Barrel I remember always dining at. They were always polite and very attentive and never have I had uncooked food. I have doubts about dining there, anymore if that's how they're going to continue to be.

Things we noticed right away included: No manager was ever seen walking the floor, so I can only assume they've done away with the position; Two stationed at the hostess podium were more concerned in playing grab-ass with the waitresses than their job; waitresses/waiters now have to bus their own tables. As for the food, while adequately prepared by the time it arrived at our table it was lukewarm. The fish was just above room temperature, the potatoes were almost warm (yet not quite), and the apples were actually served fresh and semi-hot. They have gone away from canned biscuits now, so that is a plus. Our waitress dropped the ticket on the table mid-meal and never returned. Since its fairly hard to digest a meal with-out anything to drink, I had to run another waitress down to refill my drink. She happily obliged and earned our full tip for the evening. To sum it up, not much has changed over the past year and a half. While it's not really Rocket Science to serve a freshly prepared hot meal to your patrons, for some peculiar reason it continues to be just beyond their desire to do so.

The inspector discussed a treatment plan with the manager. An employee who entered the kitchen from the back door didn't wash his hands as he began to prepare food. Another kitchen worker preparing raw hamburger didn't change his gloves before going onto another task, but it's required to prevent the spread of bacteria from the raw burger. There's more. When the inspector checked the dishwasher, no sanitizer was running through it, but it's required to properly wash, clean, and sanitize dishes and utensils. The inspector also wrote that employees were wearing excessive jewelry. Rings, watches, and bracelets have crevices where bacteria and dirt can hide, potentially contaminating food. Another employee was observed drinking out of an unapproved container in the kitchen. It took another 5-10 minutes for her to return and even realize that she had forgotten to give me a napkin/utensil. My food was good, but for a restaurant not being overly crowded, the service was ridiculous. I believe there was an issue in the kitchen that was impacting everything, but that's not a good enough excuse. Go elsewhere is my advice.

The overall experience is fine as it is not fine dining nor is it fast food, it's a little bit country in the city and city in the country. I feel you really get a mix of the everything with wall murals, big screen TVs, a stage, a sports bar...... what more can you ask for when you want a meal and can't think of what to have? Lastly, the staff have got to be some of the absolute best! It never fails, they are always happy and fairly busy, because they have it all together. Yet, it's not so local that the player piano stops and everyone stares when you swing through the saloon doors. Well, through the pretty front door and IF it had saloon doors.
