Our daughter had the idea to have brunch at Waffle House because she'd never been. There were only 2 employees...a cook and a server. We had to wait a significant amount of time for our food due to the understaffing but it was understandable. Our food was decent though the bacon was charred. I requested bacon that was less crunchy and the cook did an excellent job of accommodating me. I hadn't been here since 2004 so it was a nice experience coming back. I'm not ashamed to say that our visit to Waffle House was a dream. We were looking for a quick place to eat before headed over to the good 'ol Renaissance Festival and Waffle House was basically in the right place at the right time. We sat up at the counter and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed watching them make the food. We all know that the food quality is the absolute best of the best, but they seemed to keep things relatively clean and used their gloves/etc throughout the whole process. I got some smothered hash browns and OH BOY were they good. Big big big big fan. The All Star Special is a great deal and you get all of the things you could possibly want from a classic diner breakfast. They even had TouchTunes so we could play some music of our choosing. Staff was great and we left full without even spending a whole $20. Will be back! read more

I went with a few girlies, yall know how it is. personally treated myself with one large icy glass of chocolate milk. we gossiped, played games, and giggled for hours!!! even made some art. the workers posed riddles and mischief. I remember being a child and being taken to waffle house by my mom. I was always in love with their hot food but what impressed me more than anything back when I was a kid was how I could actually watch the cooks make the food. It was one of those things that made waffle house stand out from other restaurants. You could actually see your food being prepared and interact with the people that we're doing it all at the same time. And the food was actually really good. So I was in the neighborhood and saw waffle house and decided I would stop through there. It was like going back in time in more than one sense of the word. I was greeted very friendly by the female waitress the male cook was very nice. There was only four other customers in the restaurant and I think that had more to do with the time of day that I came in. Waffle House does more night business then during the day. My food was prepared in a timely manner it was hot, it was fresh, and it was delicious. The only reason they don't have five stars is because I noticed that I was being charged a 10% gratuity just because my order was a to go order. That wouldn't of bothered me if my receipt after I paid for my food didn't have a slot for me to write in a tip. Now, I'm a nice person and all, but once you have taken 10% of what I pay, in my opinion you got your tip. That was the only problem I had. I tell you what though, I saw three cards that they had advertising that they were hiring for cooks, waitresses, managers and even district managers and they even laid out what their benefits were and how much you could make. I think that was the first time that I actually looked at waffle House and said "hmmm, am I in the wrong job?" They had a lot of good benefits for a job that doesn't get a lot of attention in the industry. I grew up coming to waffle house and have never had an experience like this one. we visited the bonner springs location on Monday night (Aug 6), sat in the center two stools at the bar top and were greeted warmly by Ms. Darlene. she was busy handling multiple tables but was kind and attentive and let us know she'd be with us after taking care of some teens. she didn't miss a thing and expressed confidence in her ability to make sure everything was perfect for our late night dinner. she was organized and noticed even the littlest things. being given the opportunity to watch her and her chef communicate effectively was incredibly wholesome. 10/10 service and we loved every minute of it. i wish i could recall his name but i also wanted to give massive kudos to the chef. the skill he portrayed while handling multiple dishes and orders but still remaining tidy was great to watch. i could keep my eyes off of the grill because he was just THAT good and i truly hope he knows that! This experience was incredibly meaningful as my best friend has just moved to the midwest from the west coast and hasn't had the change to experience true stranger kansas hospitality. huge huge thank you to the monday night staff for making this experience a wholesome and memorable night that i will forever cherish. read more

Well, it's Waffle House. Simple, home-style cooking. If you want fancy food, this isn't the place. If you want quick service and to receive your food quickly then this is the place for you. I have to admit that I have a hard time passing up a Waffle House when traveling. It was my go-to spot after being out drinking downtown Atlanta when I was younger. I stopped on the way home every night and ordered the same thing every time. And I still order the same thing: The All-Star Breakfast with a side of hashbrowns covered in chili, cheese, ham chunks (covered, chunks, and topped). Their coffee is smooth, always hot, always fresh, and refilled often. No matter where you go in the South, you can find a Waffle House, and I've found them in Ohio, too! I had no intention of going to Waffle House this day but a friend and I were leaving Kansas City after an excursion and we were looking for a place to eat. As we puttered down I-70, we saw the yellow Waffle House sign and it was a siren, luring us in for a delightful meal. We ended here on a holiday and it was not crowded at all. We had no trouble finding and getting settled into a table. The server was nice and plesand. He did not hover or insist we order quickly. He left us plenty of time to look over the menu and change our minds a few times. There is no fancy gourmet cooking going on at Waffle House. Nope, it is basic, simple but tasty fare. We both ordered breakfast even though it was late in the day. The food was served promptly with very little waiting. Everything was perfect. I had a basic over-easy egg combination and biscuits and gravy. Yum, yum. We had no problems parking because there was a huge parking lot in front of the restaurant. Plenty of ease of access. The prices were more than reasonable and we got plenty of food, too. There were no skimpy servings here at Waffle House. This is a great place to dine and people watch. This is a shout out to Heidi! She was a wonderful and attentive server. She wanted to make sure we got what we ordered right and offered to remake a waffle if it wasn't to our satisfaction or redo the bacon if it was too brown for us. She handled her customers well and greeted them hello and goodbye cheerfully. After our last Waffle House experience on the road, I was leery trying another one. The last one did not know how to make their waffles (maybe their waffle irons needed replacing, because the waffles were too thick and cakey). But the ones here are crisp and yummy! We both ate up our Star Breakfast Specials. The crew was really efficient, cleaning, doing dishes, and cooking. Our food came in a timely manner. Bathroom was clean, too. read more

When I want Waffle House, I take the 35-40 minute drive to Platte City, Mo... and I live in Bonner Springs. Bonner Springs Waffle House is poorly managed, VERY unclean, they hire trashy unkempt people that have no customer service skills and barely any social skills to boot. I'll never go in that place again, I honestly don't know how they've been allowed to stay open for all these years. If you're strolling through the area, we have a lot of really good places to eat and things to offer, but this particular waffle house is only good if you like hearing your shoes stick to the floor and catching tetanus from an eating utensil. read more

Every time I come here, the service is worse than before. I just waited 15 minutes and nobody but the bus boy acknowledged me. Meanwhile a group of regulars walk in, gets celebrated as soon as they come in the door and are immediately served as if they are royalty. I have experienced this before here, there seems to be no management ever and the staff are always least concerned about what is going on with their tables. After a ridiculously long wait, our server comes over and begins with a string of complaints about anything and everything.... he hates the fan; he's tired; it's been a long day; he's worked since 3:00...
