When it comes to traditional American breakfast, Waffle House nails it. The taste excellent. One issue they have is some of the employees, labor is a big problem there, some are good but many are just rude and do not care at all.

Went inside to get a table, they weren't even busy and there was a dirty table and nobody wanted to clean it so we would sit and we asked them multiple times if they could and they never did anything about it. Ended up getting a seat at the bar area and our waiter was polite and our food was cooked good only reason I brought it from a 1 star to a 3 star

Got order wrong...sausage instead of bacon, grits instead of hash browns. Just a bad experience! Won't be back.

As someone who has judged hundreds of food entries over the years and eaten meatloaf at diners,…read morecafes, and country restaurants all across the Triad, I can honestly say this was the worst meatloaf I've ever been served. I ordered the meatloaf special of the day, expecting a comforting Southern classic. Instead, I was met with a dense, mushy loaf topped with an overwhelming layer of ketchup. The texture was unpleasant, the flavor was one-dimensional, and the overall dish was simply not enjoyable. The mashed potatoes were equally disappointing. They tasted like instant potatoes straight from a box with little seasoning and no richness. The green beans appeared to come directly from a can and even contained a few hard pieces that should have never made it to the table. The cucumber salad was far sweeter than it should have been, overpowering any fresh cucumber flavor. Worse, the cucumbers themselves appeared visibly old and lacked the crispness that makes a cucumber salad refreshing. The cornbread was another miss. It was so dry and sponge-like that it practically absorbed all moisture the moment it hit your mouth. To be fair, the vegetable soup was the bright spot of the meal. It had good flavor and tasted homemade. The drinks were also good, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout the visit. The dining room itself felt very cramped, which added to an already underwhelming experience. I understand that everyone has different tastes, but after years of evaluating food and countless meals throughout the Triad, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant meals I've had in recent memory. The soup and service kept this from being a one-star review, but unfortunately the food did not live up to the restaurant's reputation.

They offer a variety of soul food items. I'm a huge fan of their beef tips , fried chicken , meatloaf and their lasagna (offered on Thursdays ). Each day they serve different things. Some of my fav sides are the Mac and cheese, the cabbage and their green beans. They are friendly people and you can not beat the prices. I eat here atleast once a week!

A friend of mine from high school posted a picture on Facebook of a fish breakfast plate that he got from here, and when I saw it, I instantly thought that I had to try it as soon as I could! Luckily for me that day was today, as I went here before heading to work. Ackingna's Place is locates I'm Old Walkertown Road right beside this auto repair shop. It's small that it's easy to miss it if you are not paying attention. There is very little parking, and it's crammed so get there early or be prepared to have a hard time getting out of you park there when it's busy. Since I got there early that morning, it was fairly easy for me to get in and out. There's no dine in area here as it's strictly takeout. As soon as I got out the car I could smell the aroma of bacon and sausage along with motor oil from the auto shop next door. I had to ring this buzzer to get somebody to come up and take my older. When I was there it was rand by this older black couple who were really nice. The menu is located on the front of the building on this laminated piece of paper, and is big enough where you don't have to squint. They serve breakfast all day everyday. There also serve lunch and dinner. They have omelets and these various breakfast platters whose price is dependent on the type of meat you get, as well two eggs, grits or hashbrowns and two pieces of toast. All this could range from $5 on up. I got the breakfast platter with bologna, cheese eggs, hash brown and toast. I added an orange juice and it was $8 total. The food took a little longer than I would have liked to be ready but I was like the first customer and they did look like they were just opening up so it was forgivable. Once it was ready, it was place in a styrofoam doggie bag and wrapped in a Walmart grocery bag. It reminded me of how I take my lunch to work on a daily basis! The food was all piping hot which I love. The eggs melted in my mouth and I could taste the sharp cheddar in every bite. The bologna was seasoned to perfection and wasn't burnt at all, plus it was he thick cut bologna as well which I love. The hash browns make could have been cooked a little longer but they were still really good and mixed with onions for flavor. The toast was great and was even better after I placed the jelly on it. I also got some OJ. They put ice in it which I don't usually like but it tasted like that Bright and Early orange juice my grandma used to buy when I was a child. It was still good and all gone in no time. They had a sanitation grade of a 93 which I would like to be a little higher (96+) but the overall experience was great and I'll be back for sure! *Note: Look at the picture of the menu and you will see what I mean when I say they serve a little bit of everything, but soul food related! Even chitterlings, and one of my all time favorites: fried okra! Go visit this place! They open as early as 6AM and close at 8PM but not sure what days they are closed though. One more thing, they serve BREAKFAST ALL DAY! Check it out, and thank me later!

But I also loved the food for its flavor, heartiness, and affordability. Well, based upon a recent drop in at the Clemmons location, the food is still pretty good, but there prices have certainly exceeded the realm of affordability. And I'm not (usually) awake at the "fun hours" any more, so maybe WH is losing its luster for me. Local Waffle House workers aren't as cordial or interesting as what I've always been used to either. Again, part of the Waffle House magic is the character (and characters) of a 24-hour diner. Instead, staff here seem bitter at worst and indifferent at best. Let's get the price of an All Star Special back down to being a damn good deal. Let's put some stuff from the old days back on the menu. The Texas cheesesteak and egg sandwich is a good example. And if something like an egg gets added to an order, let's get the price of such an addition to be consistent from restaurant to restaurant -- and let's make it representative of the cost of providing the egg rather than an exorbitant amount. And let's see WH cooks and waitstaff show some personality again. In other words, I want the old Waffle House experience back.
