FOOD: WHO can honestly say they went to WH & didn't get what they were expecting? I have NEVER gotten a bad meal here. It's good, consistent & cheap! I really love the chicken breast with Texas toast. The chicken is so juicy!! Yum yum! The coffee is pretty good too! SERVICE: Come on, just to work at WH you have to be a special breed of person, & I say this with the highest respect possible! I feel safe when traveling alone, I pop into WH &. Take a picture with the staff and myself & send it back home for "proof of life" for my family. AMBIANCE: I bet you could walk into any WH & find a seat BLINDFOLDED! That's not a bad thing. This is by far the absolute worst Waffle House I've ever been to. They were busy, but had only one table available, because the staff keeps a few tables reserved permanently for theirselves. The employees are loud, rude, and dirty. The food wasn't that good especially for the price, I'll personally never go back! read more

Stopped in during lunch on a weekday. Seating was available and our waitress greeted us right away-I forget her name but she was awesome-seemed very happy, a bit free spirited, and was singing along with the juke box to almost every song. I ordered breakfast, and it was good-sausage, eggs and hash browns. Food was good, as were the prices. The only reason for a three is due to cleanliness-just didn't seem very clean, especially the cooking area. read more

Waffle House, you get what you get!!! I love Waffle House BUT you definitely have to catch a good one. I expect the restaurant to not be as clean, I expect the cook and waitress not to have the cleanest attire, maybe even a security guard. I think they get a bad rep BUT the food makes up for it ALLLLLLL!!! AND...this Waffle House did NOT disappoint. I would say the staff wasn't 5 star and that's my only complaint - I still left a tip! Get it to go and you will be alright. I would definitely go again. I am still worried about contact so I got my meal packaged to go but decided to just get a little taste first!!! The eggs were served piping hot - still had steam coming off. I opted for toast, hash browns, and of course a waffle!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though I usually request to cook my waffle longer, it is never the crisp I am looking for but I still have to have one - it is The Waffle House.... You know what you're getting when you eat at a Waffle House, and in general, I LOVE Waffle House. This one was no exception. We were there on a Saturday, mid morning. It was busy but there was an available booth when we arrived and a server pointed it out to us after greeting us. We were given coffee and placed a meal order. My husband got some kind of hash brown bowl with eggs and sausage. I had my favorite- a pecan waffle- and some ham. We both noted that there were maybe 4 people working in a full restaurant and they were kicking ass, keeping up with orders, people coming in a and leaving, refilling beverages-- just everything. Our server - I wish I could remember her name now- seemed like a bee, buzzing from table to table, taking care of everything. She was amazing. read more

If you like to be waited on by your waitress nodding off from being high or wait to use bathroom because someone is shooting up, then sure, this might be your place but it's not what I want to see at 8am in the morning. What's not to love about Waffle House? The food is reliable and cheap. The establishment may not feel warm and cozy but it gets the job done. This might be the first time I actually tried a waffle at waffle house and I really liked it. I'm a big fan for the big breakfast platters. Eggs. Sausage. Hash browns. Cheesy grits. Toast. Never had an issue. Always be nice to your waffle house servers! I always know what to expect when I come to a waffle house -a damn good breakfast. Calm down kiddos, this is a Waffle House! Teddy, hubby and I ate here twice. We only eat at WH when we go "down south". It doesn't seem to be the same up here. Service was great, waitresses friendly. Our waffles were soft and crunchy. I ate mine with syrup and with a side of hash browns. They take their hash browns seriously at WH so feel free to dress 'em up. They have a juke box which is a nice touch, though I was more into my waffles. For fast food waffles, I definitely prefer Waffle House to Ihop, spatula down. read more

CJ that works in the front is by far the worst. After 10 minutes we had to ask if anyone is working, he said he was busy then went to take someone's order. Then told the people at the register he had to take our order first, then went to cleaning dishes again. Then after another 10 minutes of not getting served we ended up leaving. He likes to pretend he's busy, then acts like will help you and he doesn't. Worse place ever with everyone not helping, and also another group of about 10 people got seated and order taken before me and my wife. This was my first time eating Waffle House up here. It was ok, not as good as down south. The service was good. Didn't have to wait long & waiter keep my cup refilled. I got the pancakes, sausage, cheese eggs was fair. Honestly it could've been better but my service was good. To be coming off a long drive on the highway it did the job. read more

Only gave one star because I couldn't give it a zero. Absolutely disgusting establishment. We were ignored by the staff and finally told to sit wherever. We asked if they could clear a booth with dirty dishes on it, the only table available and were told they'd get to it. They proceeded to clear a counter spot that no one was waiting for and then rinse off dishes... were still standing by the filthy booth. Stopping in here was a mistake. The table was clean but the seat was dirty After ordering our food a spider fell from the ceiling there were dead flies on the windowsill and one on the table. Now there was one disgruntled employee who dropped the F bomb to many times to make me feel comfortable and a server was complaining about guests walking out and not paying I felt really bad for her but you don't talk about it so loud that the guests hear. Our food was cooked till it was dry and sauteed onions were raw. Overall it was poor. I have eaten at Waffle Houses in both PA and in the South and have good experiences. My wife used the bathroom to her dismay it had no lock you had to slam the door closed and turn a little sign from vacant to occupied. The floor looked as it had not been cleaned in weeks and the soap dispenser was so cruddy it needed a bath more than her hands. There was toilet paper all over the floor with extras that other patrons had left behind. I didn't think we were stopping in for a late lunch and a show. This Waffle House is at the corner of US-13 and Voshells Mill Star Hill Road and is accessible from both roads. It's a standard trailer-home sized Waffle House restaurant with a counter and about a half dozen or so tables. It probably won't accommodate a big crowd but there weren't many customers on a Sunday evening, so it's an adequate size. I had my usual hash browns "all the way". Service was very polite and friendly here. Also, they were very generous with the toppings. The "all the way" toppings nearly overflowed off the side of the plate and they thoughtfully put the chili topping in a small bowl so it wouldn't spill over. read more

If you'd like to DIY replicate the experience of eating at this fine establishment, it's very simple. Take an old leather shoe and cut out a small section. Smear that leather in a grease trap and then cook until thoroughly burnt on both sides. Lastly take a 20$ bill and light it on fire. It would be a sin if I didn't comment on the bacon.... purchase about 5 bags of potato chips and pick out the overcooked brown ones and refer to them as bacon. Very upset about our experience. My party of 20 walked in to the EMPTY restaurant at 7:45pm and one of the workers was cleaning and complaining. He turned to his co worker and said "what the f*** is this". We sat down, and realized we were not welcomed here. The cook said "sorry it was a long day". I work in the food service and I know that is not how you treat customers that will help your business. We are at the applebees down the street and got sat within 10 minutes. We love Waffle House, very inexpensive and good service. At this location, Erika waited on us, and Terrance was the cook. Both did a great job, were friendly and customer-oriented. Our waffles were hot and delicious. We had ham and bacon, and both were perfectly cooked. One person in our party had the chocolate chips over the waffle, and enjoyed it. This is a great place for families. A plain waffle costs only $3.30, what a bargain! Check this location out while driving to/from Delaware and Maryland seashores. Enjoy! read more

Sept 26 2021 11:15 am We waited 20 minutes before anyone approached us about a table. When finally seated, our table didn't have menus so we asked for them. Waitress rolled her eyes. We asked for coffee while we were deciding what to order. Coffee never came although waitress spent some time just standing by the counter talking. When she finally came over again, she asked if we were ready to order. We asked if she forgot about our coffee. She rolled her eyes and told us it would be better to just go ahead and give her our order. Understand they were busy but she forgot our coffee and instead of getting it for us she proceeded to tell us to order now. She also told some customers who politely asked how long of a wait "for real! It's busy and it's gonna be awhile". She also only had three tables to wait on at the time and moved like a snail. Will definitely not be back to this place. Waitress was nice enough, but not very attentive, and they were not at all busy. Ordered hash browns (which they are supposed to be known for) with onions and mushrooms. Looked like regular hash browns, then discovered some raw onions and a couple of mushrooms hiding underneath. The bacon (which was $3 for 3 slices - you do the math) was half raw and fatty. The coffee was basically brown water. I couldn't decipher the bill, except for the total, which was more than I expected. When I asked the waitress to explain each charge, it ended up that she overcharged me $1 which she did fix. Doesn't sound like much, but if you add up $1 extra for each customer, they've got a pretty good scam going. Recommend stay far, far away! read more

Stopped by on our way home from ocean city and it took about ten minutes for us. Food was decently fast, but the waitress seemed confused and kept forgetting stuff that we had to remind her of. Food was ok, minus the raw waffle batter on the edges of the plate. I had asked for the hashbrowns with chili, but did not receive. As I was getting my check, waitress said how everything gets sticky from the syrup.... didn't realize they had syrup, because she didn't give me any. The only reason to come here is after you've been drinking to have breakfast at 2 AM. It's in a sketchy neighborhood so lock you car doors. Service is hit or miss. The food is okay. The prices are super cheap. The last time I was in it was obvious our server did not want to serve us. She actually said, I'm supposed to be leaving now so I need you to order. We were waiting for the rest of our group to arrive. There were seven of us. We are excellent tippers so her loss.
