I'd never had anything but breakfast at a Waffle House until this visit. I always like stopping at one while we're in Ohio visiting family. This location is near Jungle Jim's, another favorite stop in the area. Nate and I walked in around lunch time on the day after Thanksgiving and the place was almost full. We grabbed a couple of seats at the counter and were greeted right away. Waffle House is known for their hash browns, which you can customize as the following toppings: -smothered: sautéed onions -covered: melted American cheese -chunked: ham -diced: tomatoes -peppered: jalapenos -capped: grilled mushrooms -topped: chili -country: sausage gravy -all the way: everything The menu also includes basic diner staples as well as some lunch items like burgers, sandwiches, and the newer hashbrown bowls. Nate ordered a waffle and some hash browns (smothered, covered, chunked, and capped) and I got the patty melt which also comes with hash browns. The line at Waffle House is fun to watch - they don't print any tickets and all the orders are just shouted out to the cooks who remember everything and cook on the fly. They use a marking system on the plates with different condiments and ingredients to indicate the orders as well. It's super fascinating to me! Our food was done quickly and our server was great - super on top of refills and checked in with us a few times. The patty melt was delicious. It'll be hard to pick between that and breakfast the next time I'm at Waffle House! The patty itself was thicker than I expected and juicy. The Texas toast was perfectly toasted and the hash browns were super crispy. I really liked the waffle too. I'm already looking forward to my next WaHo visit! read more

I was hungry about 3:30am this morning and we went here to eat. I haven't been to a Waffle House in some time. So the pick up window was new to me. They also charge "2" 10% tips. I don't think s justified considering the food was cold. The grits were cold but more importantly the bacon was pre cooked maybe from a few days prior and cold. It reminded me of beef jerky but I did not eat it. I'm truly disappointed. It was too many workers tonight to be served with cold food. read more

You get what you pay for. Got the sirloin steak as well as a burger. The burger must've been 80% fat because it was like biting a sponge (nasty). The sirloin did not have a sear and it was dry. The server wasn't very attentive. I don't like how Waffle House doesn't cook the waffles with the Ingredients, they just sit it on top. Good waffles though! I mean, it's a Waffle House. I hadn't been to a Waffle House in years, but I have fond memories of going with my parents (especially Dad) on the weekends as a kid. I was expecting the decor to be the same, but to my surprise and pleasure the food tasted exactly like I remembered! Only reason I go here is my dear wife loves this place for there burgers. So I do my husband like duty and join her. I usually get the ham and cheese sandwich. It serves the purpose greese and all. Horrible service had to wait 30 mins for my food they cooked it all out of order and the cook was tweaking like he was on drugs the woman was instantly rude when answering the phone. My boyfriend said they got a attitude because customers coming in and/ or calling the store. Coming from a person who's very familiar with the food industry it can be super stressful but that's doesn't mean you get mad and give customers terrible service it's means suck it up and do your job the correct way. I honestly was surprised at this quality of service at a Waffle House. Server greeted us immediately upon entering and sat us ASAP. April was a great server, polite and sweet, the whole nine yards. It's Waffle House, you know? You get what you expect. The food is pretty consistent and the service at this location was nice. The waitress was attentive and the food came quickly. We were shocked, however, that our bill was $40! We usually only spend around $20 for the four of us, but this Waffle House didn't have the dollar menu specials that you see at so many that include the drink in the price as well as the full meal. Being from the upper mid-west we must stop on all of our trips into WH territory :) I arrived later than my mom and our IL. friend this past Saturday am after the dog show in Hamilton..., sat down with them and my order was immeadietly taken. I tried the hashbrowns smothered and capped for the first time and it was what I expected although, I propbably with stick with plain from now on. I tried the jalapeno biscuit that I saw too late on our last trip in April...yum! The kitchen had my order out only a few minutes after the others even though I came in well after they had ordered. I like that this WH puts the pecans into the waffle batter, the one we stopped at near Indy last month had them sprinkled on top. I'd never been to a Waffle House before, and I figured since I was in Ohio I should check one out. I had originally thought that Waffle House would be a lot like IHOP or Denny's, with meals at about $10-12. The inside was a bit more like a McDonald's with hard seats and the menu items were a lot less expensive. The servers were friendly. Prepare to nickle and dimed for everything. And I mean everything. My dinky $1 value hamburger burger turned into $4. And it wasn't even that good. I'm surprised they don't charge extra for individual ice cubes, extra charge for each napkin used, and extra charge to use the restroom. You think airlines nickle and dime you for every little thing? For the record, i've been in Waffle Houses many times, this review is not about the food...but the service. I was actually pleased when they opened a Waffle House across the street from my apartment complex. I went there about a month ago and had a predictable experience, with some good breakfast food at 3 am. However, This evening at 11 pm, not so much. I walked in and sat at the counter, and was greeted and asked what I want to drink. I said a cup of coffee. This was the start, and the end, of any human acknowledgment of my presence there. I'm not joking. there were three tables there, with hefty orders, this I understand. I watched the staff cook their food while I drank my coffee. This was the first 10 minutes. I finished my coffee, already decided what I wanted to order. I folded my arms. I even made brief eye contact with at least 3 of the employees just WAITING for an opportunity to place my food order. Or, at the very least, refill my coffee. NOTHING. That was the SECOND 10 minutes. The last 5 minutes I sat at that counter I actually started contemplating that I was, in fact, a ghost, somewhat non-existent in the mortal realm, and that I must be some shadowy figure sitting on their front counter. At that point, enough was enough. I put about 4 bucks on the counter (for my coffee...but how would I know how much it was? the staff didn't seem to care) and walked out, crossed the road to the Speedway across the street, bought a frozen pizza, and walked back to my apartment. I'm normally not the bitchy type, but you cannot run a restaurant on the premise of serving a customer a cup of coffee and then COMPLETELY IGNORING THEM for 25 minutes. That's pretty amateur. 4 employees there. And, other than my first 2 minutes in the door where I got a cup of coffee, i was treated like I wasn't even there. And I sat there for 25 minutes. Seriously, the worst service i've ever had, anywhere. I've had horrible drive-thru experiences that were better than this. Step up your game, Waffle House. read more
