A classic quick spot to have breakfast! I ordered a cup of coffee and a plain waffle that was made fresh to order! The coffee was strong and lovely with a splash of half & half and the waffle with the butter and maple was an absolute delight! The service was polite and quick, no complaints here can't wait to come back!

Waffle House isn't available in my state, so I was eager to visit when I found myself staying at a nearby hotel. Around 11:00 PM, after flying into SDF and driving to Frankfort for the night, I finally got the chance to check it out. The restaurant had a few late night diners, but nobody was crazy or suspicious. The waitress quickly came over to my table and greeted me with a warm smile. She took my order promptly, and all the food came out correctly. She was checking in on me while I was eating to ensure I didn't need anything. The food tasted good, and it's such a great value. A meal for two with drinks was less than $25, and it's cooked to order. Can't really beat that. Overall I had a positive experience. It's surprising that I got amazing service from a Waffle House, and back home in LA I can't even get decent service from a restaurant that charges $10+ for an orange juice.

If you go to a Waffle House and you expect it to be super clean then you're kidding yourself. The only thing I want is quick and edible food. Which is exactly what we received today. Waitress was decent. No real complaints. And prices are resonance.

This is a standard waffle House. Do not expect more or less than the average waffle house. It is open 24/7 including Christmas, new year's and Thanksgiving. The food is decent. I however always ask for my hash browns extra crispy and they never quite get there, but they get close.

Oddly I've never been to a Waffle House. With most of my travels in the upper midwest and west I've had little chance. During a quick visit to Kentucky I skipped the free hotel breakfast and thought I'd give it a try. It's breakfast - hard to screw up. I ordered the Hashbrown Bowl, kind of a skillet breakfast in a bowl. They wouldn't poach the eggs, when I asked the server looked at me like I was a martian. So, scrambled it is. The order arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. There were six or seven employees visible so things happen quickly. I travel with a service dog and when I arrived I was starting to put the dog under the table as I always do. However the floor was so gross and dirty I ended up with him in the aisle next to the booth. The floors everywhere were dirty as were light fixtures and other areas. I know 24 hour restaurants are a challenge, but this place needs a good clean.

I used to absolutely love this place , friendly staff , good food , clean dishes/ silverware. Now it's gone down hill . I had something dirty in my cup and had to ask multiple times to get my toast. Still love the staff , just not so much.

The dining room is set up to accommodate parties of two or four, all the way to large groups, with places for individuals at the bar. Table service is provided and our server was friendly. Hubby chose the Hot Brown with a side salad and I went for the liver and onions with mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, and gravy on the side for the livers. Hubby tries the Hot Brown at a lot of restaurants and said it was good. The liver was tender and tasty with the onions and gravy on the side, and the mashed potatoes and green beans were a good accompaniment. The portions were satisfying and neither of us had room for dessert. We were pleased with the experience, and with more items on the menu to try, we will be back.

We tried the chili dogs and fries, the fish sandwich special (which came with fries and slaw), and the chicken tenders appetizer. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The fish sandwich was perfectly fried -- crisp on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside. Even the chicken tenders were standout. Portions were generous, prices were very reasonable, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. The staff was friendly, attentive, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Bonus points for the fun UK basketball décor -- fans of the Cats will feel right at home. If you're in the mood for traditional fried food done well in a laid-back setting with excellent service, this place is absolutely worth a visit. We visit often!

We were seated right away inside. They have patio dining, too, but it was hot! Casual place with nothing much to talk about visually. But, comfortable and the staff were welcoming. Our waiter answered our menu questions and offered suggestions when asked. All three of us ended up choosing the Cuban with Cole Slaw. And, we got a side of Onion Rings for the table. The food was good and the sweet tea was cold and refreshing. I enjoy Cuban and Reuben sandwiches and try them when I find them on menus. Their version of a Cuban comes on a bun, not the traditional pressed and grilled Cuban bread or other soft, airy bread. So, it was messy to eat and didn't offer that dense Cuban treat I enjoy. It was delicious, don't get me wrong, we all liked it. But it isn't a Cuban Sandwich by culinary standards. I've had food from The Brown Barrel at events where their food was brought in and it was all good, too. They also have an attached bottle shop where you can buy good bourbon at heavily inflated prices. Overall, this is a solid place for a meal and I'll go back when in the area.

There was no parking in their parking lot, so we had to drive down the hill and try our luck with street parking, then walk back up about 5-7 minutes to get into the restaurant. A bit of a pain, especially since the restaurant was only about 50% full. The host or person at the front desk was hiding - sitting on the floor on his phone. We had to lean over the counter to ask him to get up so we could ask him to seat us. He ended up being our server as well, after he literally argued with a coworker who walked up while we were inquiring about a table. "I just took the last two damn tables, isn't it your turn?" doesn't inspire confidence that you're a welcome guest. I ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown. When in Rome, right? The menu says you can get it with Mornay sauce or Kentucky Hot Brown sauce. I asked the waiter which was better - he said the Hot Brown sauce. Sounds great! It came out with the mornay sauce. It was still good, but I was a wee bit disappointed. My companions enjoyed their meals. I picked up a reasonably priced bottle of Sazerac Rye on the way out, since they didn't have any left at the distillery when I was there earlier in the visit.
