The place was very busy and the wait was long. You could see everyone was working hard to keep the food moving and customers happy. Was left standing for 10 minutes waiting to be seated. There was only 4 people at two different tables in the entire restaurant. After being told we could sit at the bar (remember only two tables occupied) we waited another 10 minutes and no one even took a drink order. We got up and left and no one ever even spoke to us. Honestly my first time ever here and it's literally says online open 24 hours 7 days a week and 365 days a year and this shit was closed! How is it close it's only 9:44. We went trying to get in and the one guy and two girls working there said it was closed and just laughed and giggled! This is unacceptable and then another car pulled in and we just stayed to see what they would do and they were like kids. Two of them ran out the back door and into their cars giggling all the time while do so and the other worker got down underneath the counter and the group of friends that was trying to get in were just confused. I've heard that Waffle House locations are known to be dirty so I came here expecting just that. Boy, sticky tables and dirty floors all around. Our server was a total sweetheart and the food was fantastic so the good outweighs the bad! We ordered a ton of food and it was so cheap and delicious, i would say my favorite part was watching them make all of our food fresh after we ordered! I saw 8 people working, 6 of them standing around talking. The restaurant was about 1/3 full, but 100% of the empty tables had dirty dishes on them. There was zero sense of urgency to clean those tables. An employee acknowledged that a table needed to be cleaned off for us, but then she then wandered off and did other things. Employees were eating and drinking while they worked. Ugh. After ten minutes we left without ever getting a clean table. read more

It's a Waffle House. There are some things you come to expect, know and love. Service is good and fairly quick. And the food is dependable. My one complaint with my meal was that the hash browns were not the least bit crispy, but it may have been because we came smack in the middle of breakfast rush, so they were churning out plates really quickly. The one thing my snooty self can't get over is how unsanitary the place feels. Turn over is so quick that tables get a quick wipe down, leaving them wet and a little sticky. This time around, I got the hash brown bowl with philly cheese steak meat, grilled onions, and two over easy eggs! One of my foodie pet peeves are over cooked eggs when you ordered over easy...and one of mine were over cooked :( it was still delicious though but definitely would have been better if I had double the runny yokes for my meal. As most WH's I've been to, this one holds the standard well. Busy Sunday mid day, got two counter seats quickly. The food came up hot and fast, and the waitress was friendly without attitude. They obviously haven't really tasted REAL food. The restaurant is filthy and the menu is terrible. It was one of those 'dark' periods of my life that I even step foot in there. What a waste of time! Lazy staff that don't seem to care! Decided to stop here on the way through, and it started out fine. They looked pretty full, but we found a seat and a kind woman greeted us and talked to our children. After that, though... We were never served, not once in over 15 minutes. Multiple staff walked by us, even looked directly at us while we looked around for someone. We were even seated right next to the back office they all had to go in and out of! Not a single person asked if we needed anything or if we'd been served. They even ignored us as we got up, obviously never having eaten, and left. Worse, the place was half empty by the time we left, despite seeing almost a dozen staff hanging around! Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. When it comes to Waffle House, we usually grab our breakfast to go, and sit in the comfortable haze of 7am mornings, steamy waffles and cozy pajamas. Today it was suggested we actually dine-in, but I had no worries - I've had the take-out, so what's the big deal? The big deal is that while at home, I don't have to actually SEE my food being cooked by people who aren't washing their hands. Or watch my waitress make her personal meal, steadily munching away on a piece of bacon the entire time. I don't have to imagine who previously used my cup, as a piece of orange pulp floats up from the bottom of my Coca-cola. I don't have to cringe at the sticky syrup-coated syrup container that's obviously never gotten a thorough cleaning. Or wipe the table down myself b/c the staff couldn't be arsed to do it despite the fact that the place was empty. I could go on about the 'eh' hash browns, the high school cafeteria-grade burger, and the grease soaked bacon, but those issues were secondary compared to the general feeling of "ew" I got from this place. For a Sunday brunch, this place was on the ball! While there was a wait, it was only 10 minutes for a group of four. All the wait staff was courteous and kind. They fulfilled our request of getting the waffles first and my crispy bacon. I would definitely visit this location for breakfast again! Of course I strongly recommend the waffles. All the tables needed to be bussed no one seemed to care we even walked in. Had to ask for a table to be bussed so we could even sit down. Even after that no one wanted to be our server. A young gentleman finally came over and asked if anyone had showed interest in being our server, we said no so he kindly picked us up as his table, and we were not his section. He was great. Stopped by this roadside diner during our summer vacation. The nationwide chain restaurant would hopefully be a sure thing! The diner is located next to a gas station and is pretty busy. We wandered in for lunch as many travelers were leaving and paying their bill. The place had 3 cooks, 5 servers and 1 bus boy, and was a dirty mess. None of the staff made eye contact with us or made an effort to clear a table for us. We watched as 2 older servers chatted at the counter and were obviously too busy to clear the dishes on the counter or give direction to the younger staff to start clearing tables. Seems these gals were more interested in conversation versus serving customers. As weary travelers, we chose to stick it out. A nice young bus boy cleared the table and we were seated. The male server was polite and helpful. Needless to say, the place is super small, so we had plenty of time to watch the staff that afternoon. There was no sense of teamwork or leadership. Customers wait at the cash register to pay their bill, but none of the staff is in a hurry to accept payment. Seriously lacking in customer service, they don't mention to the customer that someone will be right with them or greet the customer that has been waiting to be recognized as employees walk by ignoring them. Seems the two of the servers have very specific job descriptions that justify their limited responsibilities to just working the counter and chatting. As we sat in the restaurant, we watched in amazement how the unengaged staff needed direction from a supervisor. As a party of 8 walked in, the staff planned to seat the group in the corner, so they could all sit together. Unfortunately, the server assigned to those tables objected because a group of 8 would be too much work for her. She asked if staff would seat them elsewhere. Whoa! Visited our baby niece in Urbana. We've heard nothing short of great reviews from this place so it was definitely on our list to try it out. We ordered a bit of everything. Waffles (super yummy with strawberry jam!), bacon, hash browns smothered, covered & peppered and cheese grits (topped with tabasco!). for the price you cannot beat waffle house. The food is mainly breakfast fair- sausage, eggs, bacon, hash browns. The atmosphere reflects the price. Down south in Georgia and Louisiana it has a more refined clientele. The food never changes-fattening, high calorie but great if you are on the Atkins diet. I have had a few altercations with the staff over minor things such as coffee tasting like it has a cigar dropped in it- being charged for stuff that wasn't mine. etc. I can't really remember but I have gone to place over the years and it doesn't seem to really change. The coffee used to be out of this world, I wish they would just put cream and milk in their own containers and allow one the freedom to do it yourself as I have wished within Dunkin Donuts. I cannot stand the trash from opening tiny creamer containers- which contain a drop of cream so one has to keep opening these tiny creamers. I don't what else to offer these places why do we make tiny creamer packages to begin with? it must be so much cheaper to use a full bottle of stupid creamer. read more

The food was acceptable. The server was nice and remembered to refill my soft drink, yet that is where the niceness ended from my experience. The server was completely absent mentally otherwise, asking if we needed to see a menu when there were none there and served us our waffle without offering syrup. After waiting several minutes, I finally had to get up to get it myself from the counter and ask more forks. I did ask for no cheese or bacon on my sandwich, which was fulfilled, but then the rest of what should have been on there was not there either - just the bun and meat. I had to ask for lettuce and tomato afterwards. There were only two other tables with customers (due to COVID-19 and being only partially open), but they also were ignored for too long and were visibly getting agitated at being unserved. As far as Waffle Houses go, this one is definitely better than most! On a weekday morning it's easy to get a seat and get waited on right away. The restaurant was very clean and employees were clearly on top of keeping counters & tables clear. I had a great waiter who stopped to chat between other customers, which was absolutely delightful. The whole team there seemed to have a great rapport and work like a big happy family.
