I'm very partial to Waffle House so take that as it is. But this one has been as consistent as any, and I'd argue more so. The staff are super sweet, friendly, attentive, on it, present, organized but a Waffle House is not a place you are welcome to linger post eating. Their coffee is fabulous. I love it. Idk what it is but it's equivalent to Dunkin in my book: must have some addictive property in it. lol, kidding but it's that good. This team at the WH is like a well oiled machine. They are very in sync and it shows with their delivery of your food and their collaborative approach to serving customers. WH food is consistent across locations. Living for years on the west coast, I had never been to a Waffle House before. Since I now visit family frequently in Gulf Breeze, I took up my sister's offer of a Waffle House breakfast a couple weeks ago. It was probably one of the top five breakfasts I've experienced in the last decade. Grits done perfectly, and all the eggs, bacon and cheese on top, added to the excellent culinary experience. Stopped at this Waffle House on way to the zoo and was impressed by how organized it was. The staff all contributing each in their own way at their assigned task to make everything flow. Someone was always cleaning something (except the waffle makers, them things were covered in excess waffle) the staff was checking drinks and checking food, part of our order was forgot, but the staff apologized and made it right. Only down side was the staff got in a energetic discussion in the middle of the store and in front of every one their work schedule and who is working which shifts and hours, that lasted a couple minutes and then I think the recognized wasn't time or place and right back to organized chaos. read more

I am not one to write reviews but this was so bad I can't help but write one. Now let me start by saying there is one awesome waitress there who works certain days. Best food service ever and so friendly that we stayed for half an hour to talk AFTER we finished our food. That aside, I am gonna talk about THIS experience. First thing me and my girl walk in and they start making completely inappropriate jokes about me. It got to the point where my girlfriend was ready to fight. Very unprofessional. We were then served unclean silverware. We both ordered chocolate chip waffles. Her's was raw inside. Just waffle batter. Mine was also undercooked but not inedible. To make matters worse, a group of 6 drunk people walked in and made the ambiance absolutely terrible while the staff encouraged their antics. Bad service, okay. I at least expect the bare minimum, which is being served cooked food. I was gonna say something about the waffles, but I was so angry and wanted to get out of there so fast I didn't bother. I paid and left. It was so bad it completely ruined my night. Side note: The way the staff treat each other is appalling. Second trip to this WH. Always good. Always busy! There is something about this location but I can't put my finger on. Since it is essential to have my Waffle House fix, for a good southern breakfast, we decided to go this morning. I got the two egg breakfast which comes with toast and your choice of grits or hashbrowns for $3.10 Good deal! I had her add cheese to my eggs and grits because we are in the south, after all. I also ordered a side of "smothered" hashbrowns with sauteed onions for just under $2. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal although the eggs had too much cheese in it. Gasp, is that even possible??? We called and ordered food to go, and whatever staff was working at 2:30 am on 6/25/21 must've thought it would be so funny to give us the worst service possible. Acted like they gave us all the food but when we questioned the staff about it to double check they insisted we did and when we got home we're missing items. On top of that, the burgers we ordered were EXTREMELY salty, to the point that it must have been done on purpose to sabotage the food or something because you couldn't even take a bite without spitting it out it was so salty. Sure it was super early in the morning, but the location was next to empty when we arrived so it's not like they were rushed to make this food. I'm not sure why the waitress would do this; yes it was late when we ordered but we tried being polite about the whole situation thanking them over the phone after placing the order and even coming in and tipping them when picking up the food even though we weren't sitting in. Ah, Waffle House...the southern tradition. When my family drove down from Connecticut, they were curious to find out what "Waffle House" was. They saw one every few miles after they passed the Mason-Dixon line. To finally put an end to their curiosity, I invited them to have a meal with us at this Waffle House. If I could give them less than one star, I would. First strike was when I called to order my food, the lady answered the phone with an attitude and rude tone of voice. She even hung up the phone before telling me how long the food would take. I pull up after 10 mins, only to be informed that my food would be ready in 10 more minutes. Okay. Come back to her taking people in front of me ignoring me, instead of getting my order. I get to the register only to have her confused on what my order entailed. Ridiculous. I finally get my order and get to my hotel only to receive a call that they forgot my waffles on the counter. This would be the third trip I took to the store. Again, ridiculous. So I really hate being the person to interfere with somebody's job but I have to write a review on my experience. Overall the food was amazing and thank god there was an amazing lady there who took extra time to make sure our food was perfect and exactly the way we wanted. Unlike our server who was extremely rude from the moment we walked into the door she asked us (3 people) to sit at a 2 person booth and to just pull up a chair because she didn't want to wipe off a table for us. So my friend asks politely if we can have a booth that will actually sit us she does clean it off but doesn't even wipe the whole table off she then asks "what do you want to drink?" So we tell her when she gets ready to take our order she was pretty ok but when the extremely nice lady starts recommending things to us (as a server should) she turns to her and says "I'm really hungry can you take their order so I can eat" so we finish ordering and the girl later bring us a waffle and 1 dish and walks away doesn't ask if we need anything meanwhile we have no silverware or condiments and the extremely nice lady is cooking the rest of the food because the cook was too lazy to add some extra butter in the eggs and heat up the grits he literally said "I don't get paid enough for this you cook it" and walks outside as well as our server while this poor girl is left inside all by herself with multiple customers waiting. Our server put absolutely no effort in and clearly doesn't care about her job at all she sat on her phone texting just about the entire time or was outside smoking while the extremely nice lady waited on us. I hate being that person who writes a review but pleaseeee management do something with this server and cook! Server had blue hair on top and shaved sides and the cook had blondish kinda dark hair. We had a great breakfast experience at this Waffle House location on our way to the airport in Pensacola. The service in this restaurant serves as an example of how it should be done! The food was very well prepared and tasty. They didn't like the way my over easy eggs came out, so they insisted on making replacement eggs which were perfection.
