The first time visiting here was great for pickup. Second time? Horrible wait time. My online order was supposed to be ready at 19:31 and I was still waiting past 20:20 with my husband and dog in the car. FIFTY MINUTES. They told me that my order was next up to be made when I showed up at the time it said it would be ready. I stupidly waited almost an hour for eggs, waffles, biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, and some meat. I honestly should have cancelled my order by the 20 minute mark. They never apologized for the wait, never offered anything for the time spent waiting, didn't even update me on how long it would take. It wasn't just me, though...everyone was waiting endlessly for food, refills, and checks. An elderly couple was waiting for their check for over 20 minutes. Another guy sat down and was there for 30 and only had one soda, no refills. This place is extremely understaffed and whoever the line cook was working the shift tonight, it must have been his first day because he was making one plate at a time and was very slow. There were only two waitresses, too. People were coming in and were being told it would be over a 30 minute wait. How?! There were only three tables taken at the time! I was polite and kind to the staff but man, was I fuming inside. Maybe my work ethic is different but if they're that understaffed, I would have taken initiative and helped the line cook because tonight was atrocious. One word: Unsanitary Two situations: 1) I ordered two eggs and the options were grits, hash browns, and tomatoes. I asked for the tomatoes. The guy serving me picked three small slices of tomatoes out of the condiment tray and put them on a small plate and gave it to me. I thought he must be involved in cooking so he can handle the food because he must be keeping his hands clean. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Immediately after he handled the tomatoes, he started counting up money. I did not see him wash his hands the whole time I was there. 2) The guy who was cooking when I arrived came around to the front to do some sweeping. That was fine and good, because they want to keep the joint clean. When another customer came in and ordered a bacon cheeseburger, this fellow went back to his cooking duties, pulling out the bacon with the same unwashed hands he was using to hold the broom when he was sweeping. He then handled the buns, cheese and hash browns, all without washing his hands. One last poor impression - I ordered coffee and the waiter poured me a cup, then asked me if I wanted a refill so he could use the last of the old pot and then make a fresh pot. What is wrong with pouring the last of that old pot out and making a fresh pot??? This was at 1:00pm, so the pot was obviously not fresh to begin with. Guys, you need to bone up on restaurant sanitation. Until then, count me out on visiting your restaurant again. read more

I would not suggest eating at this location during the summer time. NO AIR CONDITIONING!! This made the 2nd time this month that we have been in and the air was not working. It's absolutely MISERABLE. The Other customer's were fanning themselves right along with us. We had our food boxed up and finished eating at home. The poor servers all looked so miserable fanning themselves with whatever they could find with sweat dripping down their face. The last time we were there one of the servers said they have begged management to get it fixed but have been ignored. That's unacceptable. How can you expect anyone to work in that condition? Better yet, how do you expect customers to enjoy your food and atmosphere when it's 96 degrees outside and no air in the restaurant with servers bringing food to your table with sweat dripping from their face? Absolutely disgusting. When we arrived, our server was outside smoking, no big deal, except when we went in, every available table was caked in food and syrup. We sit, table gets cleaned. Good. Waffle House is one of those places I try to avoid but sometimes, you just crave some good 'ole buttery breakfast foods. My fiancé's go to sandwich is their chicken sandwich. I don't know how they season their chicken but he is obsessed with it. If he could eat that all day long, he could. The waiter that we had at this particular location was nice. No "can I get you anything else" or even a simple "thank you" from. Just stony silence. The server lady was friendly, but seemed more interested in talking with a regular (I assume he was, the way they were chatting) instead of checking on me. As for the food, meh. I had the opportunity to visit this location; even after reading all of the poor reviews I thought perhaps they have reconditioned the atmosphere there. I came in and stood at the counter waiting to either be greeted or to even place my order. While standing an elderly African American man walks in using a cane (clearly he had a stroke). The young lady with the green hair tells this gentleman, and I quote" You can't sit here". What kind of foolishness is that. I just turned around and walked out. I never take the time to write reviews, but my experience was so bad that I had to for the welfare of others. I wish the system would let me give negative stars. I am inputting my receipts for taxes and I fortunately came across a receipt to Waffle House on Cumberland in Lebanon, TN. I stopped there while out of town. I was upset with myself for not taking the time to put in a review. I don't even know where to start. The filth on the floor, walls, baseboards, booths, sticky seats and tables etc etc, it represented YEARS of non-cleaning. The disgust was off the chart. I was in such belief that it creeped me out. It was the middle of the night and I was driving from CA. I couldn't understand how they got away with it. To top it off, I saw a waitress open the sliding cabinet to get something. It contained packs of napkins etc in a disarray of black gunk and filth inside the cabinet, which drew my eyes to the outside of it, which as astonishing! I'm actually going to call Waffle House headquarters today to report them. I can't get mad at the employees as the employer had no obvious regard for them. There is no way to work there and make a difference. The place would have to be overhauled. You can't get respect unless you give respect and value your employees. This owner is a SLUM LORD!! I just tried filling an online review on the Waffle House headquarters site and the system boots you out every time you get to the last input request, so just tried the phone number of the headquarters and the lady hung up on me twice when I tried to ask who I should talk to and why. Third time I said I've been hung up twice and I need a manager. I talked to a supervisor who gave me another number to call. That number had a recording saying they are only doing the online request for problems. Really because of Covid??!! Of course that's the online process that boots you out. I don't go into a Waffle House with expectations, so that would most likely explain my rating. Stick to breakfast foods, simple stuff like eggs and sausage or bacon. For whatever reason, my friend wanted the steak. It was about 40% fat, overcooked, and bland. Service varies, sometimes it's fast and other times you have to wait a while. Dishes were clean when I went, but another table complained and had to get new utensils. Went to eat here tonight with the wife and kid. As we walked in we wasn't greeted nor was there a clean table in site. Was told to pick a seat as they would clean it. Took the waiter all of five minutes to clean the plates off but did not wipe it off. Then as we are sitting and waiting for almost another 5 mins just to get a drink order our table is still dirty. had to ask for a rag. Food was decent but didn't get gravy like we order and daughter did not like her waffle so i asked for another order of hash browns just to get attitude back from the waitress. Wife and kid went to the bathroom just to find used needles in the trash and the lids to the needles next to the trash.
