I love how airy it looks in the dining area. They have a pretty large space that I didn't realize they had before. They could use more staff and organization. Service seemed a bit chaotic, and our server was basically all over the restaurant with tables, then was the hostess and some of everything else too. The griddle blueberry muffins are always the reason for my visit. They are so delicious and worth the visit. The potatoes are pretty tasty, and the bacon was cooked well. They don't give you much cheese in your eggs. I also wish they were fluffier and not as dry. They make scrambled eggs like a fried egg. A typical breakfast to me, but the muffins stand out. Oh yeah, the fruit was sweet. The french toast really could use a revamp to the recipe. The hot chocolate was very kid-friendly temperature-wise, so I commend them on that as well. read more

I gave 4 stars mainly because they had no chocolate and my omelette had no cheese. We could not order chocolate milk, also no hot chocolate, or the mocha my friends boyfriend wanted. We tried to order 2 of the three. The server was a nice personable young guy who did some connecting with my friend's boyfriend. Our food came out hot. My caramel cinnamon smile was soooo good! I would come back for another. I was able to request Tabasco sauce for my omelette. Big brownie points for that. The place looked and felt very clean. Breakfast with my lady ... the wait for tables is usually 30min so we sat at the bar ... First come first serve .... Atmosphere is very upbeat and lively. Sitting at the bar you get to see the kitchen in action... I ordered the Coastal Crab Benny with the home fries and add cheese. The Benny was different instead of muffins it was some type of toast which was new but still good. The crab cakes were mashed flat very opposite of a traditional crab cake. The biggest miss for me was that my egg was cooked to long so the yolk was not runny that was disappointing. My mother and I were really looking forward to a relaxing brunch after Mass today, especially since we've had several positive experiences here in the past. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. To start, my mother ordered a mocha raspberry drink that, according to the menu, was supposed to come topped with whipped cream and a chocolate drizzle. When it arrived without either, she politely asked about it. Our server, Maddie, responded that she assumed my mother didn't want those toppings. This was confusing and frustrating--why make an assumption instead of simply asking? The situation worsened when our food arrived. After just a few bites, I discovered a long hair in my eggs, extending underneath the corned beef hash. When I brought this to Maddie's attention, she insisted it was not a hair and only offered to replace the eggs. Given that the hair was clearly in contact with the entire dish, I reasonably requested that the full meal be replaced. Maddie became agitated. I then spoke with another server who had helped us on previous visits. She was professional and kind, but unfortunately, the restaurant would not replace the meal. The manager only offered to remove it from the bill. While appreciated, that did not resolve the issue. The whole point of our visit was to enjoy a meal together, and that experience was effectively ruined. Having dined for years at very nice restaurants all over the country, the better course if unable to remake the meal would be to pay the entire bill. Obviously they were inexperienced in providing great customer service, especially to regulars. Service continued to decline from there. When I asked for a coffee refill, Maddie responded curtly that the coffee had been discarded and no more would be made. At the end of the meal, when returning my credit card, she placed it on the table instead of handing it back to me--another small but telling sign of poor service. Throughout the entire visit, Maddie appeared bothered and disengaged, even mentioning that she was close to the end of her shift and the restaurant would soon be closing. Unfortunately, it showed in her attitude and interactions. Customer service may not be the right fit for her, or she may need to be provided more training. This was a very disappointing experience, especially given how much we've enjoyed dining here in the past. read more

Had a pleasant brunch in a nice quiet atmosphere. The food was served hot and with a smile. I tried the Grand Classic. Our waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. Eggs up Grill has been a reliable breakfast stop when we travel. Unfortunately, our latest visit was a bust. My scrambled eggs were meh, sausage patties were overly salty and cold, same with the biscuit and the accompanying side of gravy. I didn't even touch the breakfast potatoes as they did not look appetizing. My husband asked if they served "city" ham and the server said yes. Unfortunately he was served an unbearably salted leather like dry "country"ham. The latter is a product which dates back to the colonial days when meat such as this was salt cured and aged for months. Many grocers here in the south carry this type of ham but it's rarely found refrigerated, as the salt and added nitrates act to preserve the meat. It's an acquired taste, especially if the product is mass produced. "City" ham refers to the more typical version that graces our holiday tables - like spiral cut, honey glazed, etc. The ham was so off putting that my husband lost his appetite and barely managed to eat his eggs, spuds and toast. Our plates basically looked the same coming and going. As we travel and dine out, we are increasingly experiencing servers who don't even know their own menu. That's a management issue. Our other diners' meals were just OK. My cousin ordered an omelette with a side of bacon, she received her eggs with the pork in the filling. The server looked perplexed when she asked where her side of bacon was. Obviously the server was not paying attention. Then she returned with maybe a slice and a half on a tiny plate. I just kept apologizing to our guests as we had chosen this place and had told them of our previous good experiences. What a let down. Just thinking about the food makes me lose my appetite. We have been here many times over the 6 years my daughter has lived in Columbia and always enjoy it. I love breakfast food and this is fast but good quality. It doesn't taste like chain restaurant food. And there is pretty much anything you would want on the menu from a lighter healthier fruit bowl to a full heart attack on a plate. They even have gluten friendly pancakes for those that need them. Just be aware that you will be waiting on the weekends because it is very popular but it's worth the wait! read more

This seems to be a local chain. It had pretty standard fare for breakfast. However, they stated that they made their own corned beef hash so I had to try. It didnt disappoint. It was very flavorful and laid out on a hot griddle to crisp on one side then scrapped off of the griddle and rolled into a log giving you a nice crisp in each bite. We visited on a Saturday morning and business was brisk, and got brisker the later it got. We were greeted promptly and seated. Our server was Rachel, who was cheerful and peppy without seeming fake about it. I observed another party who arrived and asked for her as their server. The menu was extensive enough to probably satisfy anyone. We got coffee. I had an omelet while my wife had a breakfast platter with bacon and eggs. There was a line when we arrived but they got our party of 8 seated in 25 minutes and they have benches and fruit water outside while you wait. It was a little noisy in the interior patio where we sat, but there were several other large groups in addition to ours. The wait staff was pleasant and helpful and the food fresh and tasty. We ordered a variety of items and the only complaint was an indifference to the stir-fry omelette. Everyone else LOVED their meal. I would highly recommend the homemade corned beef hash because it's a real treat and kind of rare these days. The cheese grits were also excellent, as well as the cinnamon French toast. I was home for Christmas and decided to give this place a try yesterday with my husband and mom. I read the majority of the reviews and recalled my sister posting about it on social media one day as she's been plenty of times and loves the food. To start I had a cafe mocha with the Founder's Hash and Eggs, my husband had the Little Waffle in the Hen House but with a Big Waffle, and lastly my mom had The Classic with cheese grits. We decided to join the waitlist through Yelp beforehand and only spent 10-15 minutes waiting in the restaurant. The menu had plenty of options including sweet options like French toast or savory like their eggs Benedict. We got our drinks and ordered pretty quickly but the food came out a little slow, due to the rush hour but the waitress made sure to check in with us.
