To those people that live in the south, "Waffle House" is a household name. They are EVERYWHERE. And with well over 2,000 locations, primarily situated in the southeastern part of the United States, this no-frills, greasy spoon, cholesterol induced comfort food has been filling up Americans since the 1950's. The location I am focusing on is located on Sycamore View Rd. in the east part of Memphis just a mile from Highway 40. Since I was flying in from out of town, my hotel was in close proximity to this particular Waffle House. I came here on the evening of Friday, September 24th 2021 at around 10:00pm and was starving. Since the dining area was closed for the evening, I went to the walk-up window and placed my order. I ended up going with a breakfast platter that consisted of two scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, white toast (that included jelly), and of course their famous single waffle. Prices here are affordable beyond recognition; my whopping platter with a soda only cost me about $10 for everything. All my food was ready within a very quick 5 minutes. Once I took the quite drive back to my hotel, I immediately was flabbergasted just how much food they give you here. Everything was piping hot and ready to be consumed. The eggs were cooked perfectly while the toast had a pretty hefty amount of salted butter prior to my spreading the sweet jelly over it. Bacon was greasy as expected as I assumed this stuff was cooked in lard. Hash browns were crispy on the outside with a soft texture on the inside. The waffle was fluffy and sweet and with their own house syrup, that only compliments to the added sweetness. This place is true southern comfort food at its finest. I can only imagine the amount of calories, sodium, and cholesterol I consumed on this platter as it is not the type of food to be eaten every day (or in my case, at night). But for the price, portions, and overall taste of this classic American staple, I was definitely not disappointed. My rating for the Sycamore View Rd. "Waffle House" in Memphis, TN is a solid four-stars.

absolutely bussin, food demolished. loved the ambiance here the music selection is an A+. great service they are so real for this.

The service was pleasant and food was tasty. I found it distasteful when one of the employees was disrespecting the cook due to the customer food not being prepared in front of others. It's much more appropriate to pull them aside to have that converse.

My road trip crew and I were very excited for this stop, and it did not disappoint. All of us ordered the waffles and devoured them in record time. The hashbrowns were so good that I saved every last one in a take-out box for later, and we also found the bacon to be remarkable. The people working were great cooks and sweet as hell. I can safely say, they worked hard to make this waffle house a waffle home.

Waffle House is gross, I've no idea why so many people are such big fans. I'd have given them 1 star, but at least they're open 24/7.

The food and coffee was so delicious. I wouldn't say I'm a food snob, but I'm particular about breakfast foods, and this made me very happy. We each ordered a coffee and the bacon potatoes to share. I ordered the Juniper Benedict and my friend ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy. The bacon potatoes were cooked perfectly, soft and slightly crunchy with plenty of cheese and bacon. The eggs in my eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and they used a regular house-made biscuit that soaked up the egg yolks perfectly. The restaurant was pretty big, but the ambiance felt like a small-town diner. The staff was super kind and attentive, too. The cost is par for the course for a nice diner in a big city. TLDR: Not a bad word to say about this place.

I had coffee and ordered the Belgian waffle that came with fruit and whip topping. The coffee was piping hot anso delicious you can drink it straight. The waffle looked good just was not hot and skimpy on the fruit and whipped topping. It had a nice crispy taste and flavor and was really good just not hot when it arrived. Caroline was my waitress and she had such a pleasant smile and disposition. A very personal person. The way she took care of her customers you could tell she enjoyed her job. She brought me my bill and there was a Big Bad Breakfast postcard attached. Nice touch. Excellent service. I got a coffee to go and it was hot and freshly brewed. I had looked over the menu online so I had set my mind on ordering a half chicken but he informed me they no longer offered it. I looked over the menu again and I decided on ordering the chicken salad waffle sandwich and it came with chips and fruit. My sister had the order of chicken wings and we got a side of mac and cheese, two drinks, and a slice of cheesecake. We sat down and waited for our food. It didn't take too long for it to be ready and the very friendly employee brought it to our table. The chicken sandwich was pretty good but it got soggy very fast so it got messy as the waffle kept crumbling. The chicken breast itself tasted really good and the sandwich was stuffed. The fruit was fresh and sweet. The chicken wings were the best ones we've had in a minute! They were juicy, crispy. and full of flavor. The mac and cheese was also delicious. It was hot and cheesy. We decided to eat the cheesecake back in the room since we were super stuffed after we ate all our food. I quickly noticed that it smelled funky as I opened it and it had an overpowering cheese smell. My sister took her first bite and she made a disgusted face. I then proceeded to try it and I did not like it one bit. It definitely did not taste like regular cheesecake or to what we are used to. This was not good. Overall our dinner was good and the service was great. Both guys that were working were friendly and provided great service. I would so come back for some more chicken wings and mac and cheese! Try them out!!
