Grits, eggs over East & wheat toast

Nikki was the best! She took our orders with a big smile, and brought those orders to us quickly. They were right, & were delicious. She checked on us often, filling up our water glasses & coffee. The price was reasonable. I had two eggs over easy on wheat toast with strawberry jelly. Husband had the waffle with hash browns. Friend had smothered hash browns, wheat toast & ham & cheese omelet. Everything tasted as good as it looked! Paid the bill quickly, and we were on our way. If we are in Oakridge again, we'll be back here for breakfast!

Waffle House is always exactly the same... just enough to make me satisfied and glad I came.

Hash browns, raisin toast with apple butter, bacon, scrambled eggs & bottomless coffee

When brunch is served with a smile and server Lina checks back often to refill the coffee mugs, it's easy to overlook the child handprints on the plexiglass between the booths and the ketchup smear on table's edge. This Waffle House offers decent-tasting food served in a timely manner with affordable prices. Nothing fancy, a bit noisy, yet down-home food -- with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs.

A good place for a good waffle in Oak Ridge. Waffle House was founded in Avondale Estates, Georgia in 1955, and the chain has since grown to become a beloved staple of Southern dining for many travelers and locals. This location is one of the (over) 2100 locations located in 25 US states. As of 2021, there were approximately 143 Waffle House locations in Tennessee including this one in Oak Ridge, on the south side of South Illinois Avenue. Waffle House is known for its classic breakfast dishes, such as waffles, eggs, and bacon, as well as its famous hash browns, which are available in a variety of styles. The chain is also known for its 24/7 service, which has made it a popular spot for late-night meals and post-partying gatherings. Parking is not limited at the location since it is located in the middle of a large parking lot It is set up like a typical Waffle house with a staff that greets you when you enter. You can eat at the tall counter, low counter, or in the booths to the left and right of the counters. The menu is regular American fare with Eggs, omelets, waffles, and sandwiches. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant was not very crowded when we visited. The place was very clean. The waitress came to take our order quickly. We ordered the waffles (of course) and bacon and drinks. The food came out quickly and tasted very good. The staff was very professional, the price was good and the food was excellent. Definitely, a good place to go for a good meal in Oak Ridge.

They do offer outdoor seating, which is nice, although I'm not sure yet if it's dog-friendly--something I'll have to check out next time. We usually sit at the bar, and one thing I've learned is that you need to be very specific with your drink order if you have preferences. For example, if you order a dirty martini without clarification, be prepared for a glass that tastes almost entirely like olive brine. Asking for "light" on the olive juice is a must. Even a standard vodka martini doesn't automatically come with a lemon twist, which feels like a small but noticeable miss. Service has consistently been solid--friendly and attentive, about what you'd expect. The food, however, has been hit or miss. I tried the FGTs twice, hoping the first experience was just an off night, but they still weren't memorable enough to order again. The steak tips appetizer has been the one standout for us--really flavorful--but if you're planning on ordering a steak entrée, doubling up on steak feels a bit redundant. The salads that come with the meals are reliably good, and the steaks themselves are decent, especially with the loaded baked potato on the side. That said, I ordered a fish dish on one visit that was forgettable enough that I can't even recall exactly what it was--just that I wouldn't order it again. Overall, Aubrey's is perfectly fine, but it hasn't wowed me. At this price point, I think there are better options around town. We might stop back in from time to time if we're in the mood for something different.

The focaccia is heavenly! Our selections were the pork chop with peachy grits(!) and the house made seasonal pasta, which had lots of amazing mushrooms. I added bbq tofu for protein. No regrets. Everything was marvelous. I needed a container for about 1/3 of the pasta. We thought we were too full to continue but Skyler pointed out the dessert is free on your birthday, so...we forced ourselves to try it. We had the Pôt de Crème. And it, too, was marvelous. Our server, Skyler was there when we needed her, very attentive but not overbearing. All in all, a completely delightful experience.

Everything else was terrible, except the potato fritters but the price point over-road the flavor. Warm water, if you want bread that will be another $8. The owner did take off the pasta but the pasta needs to come with a warning if you hate olives avoid with your life!! I ask for the olives to be removed and not placed but they pre make the pasta so that is not an option. My husband's dish was equally disappointing, we left starving and spent twice as much as we would have at Season's in Knoxville. Later that night we both had horrible stomach issues. Again the waitress was fantastic but on a Friday evening and there was only 5 other tables should have been the warning sign.

There are tables, booths, bar/counter seats, plus outdoor seating, and windows galore that flood the room with natural light. It's bright, cheerful, and instantly welcoming. Every visit I've made, the place has been spotless--dining room, restrooms, everything. Plus the WiFi is solid, making this a great weekday spot to work from when I want to linger; they've always seemed fine with me setting up at the bar counter in the corner and staying until closing. Service has always been great. Contrary to some negative reviews I've seen, I've not had a bad experience here. Every server has been courteous, attentive, and hustling--nothing sloppy, no waiting around. As for the food--nothing but hits so far. Every dish I've ordered has been delicious, the temperature spot‑on, and the presentation pleasing. Some of my favorite go‑tos: Morning Meditation Fresh Juice -- crisp and refreshing Market Hash -- two cage‑free eggs any style, atop fresh seasoned potatoes, with house‑roasted Crimini mushrooms, zucchini, shallots, red peppers, baby spinach, melted Mozzarella, and herbed Goat cheese; served with whole grain artisan toast Bacado Omelet -- bacon, avocado, Monterey Jack, topped with sour cream, served with house‑made Pico de Gallo, lemon‑dressed organic mixed greens, and artisan toast They even rotate seasonal menu items, so there's always something new to try. Portions are generous--you're getting your money's worth and likely won't be hungry again until dinner. Bottom line: I'm a big fan. FW has raised the bar for breakfast in Oak Ridge, and I'm so glad they're here. Highly recommended.

However, we were seated right away. Our server immediately brought us coffee and got our 8 year old some hot chocolate (loaded with whipped cream and chocolate sauce, which he loved). It took a little bit for us to figure out what we wanted because there were so many good options. I went with their Italian inspired omelet with sausage, cheese, roasted peppers and tomatoes. My husband got the pick two from the lunch side with the super food kale salad and ham and Gruyère melt. While our son got the kids bacon and eggs with fruit and toast. The food came out at a good pace and was hot when it arrived. I loved my omelette. It tasted fresh and light and I loved the pop of the roasted tomatoes in it. The toast and jam they served with it were great. The grain bread was so good. I ended up getting potatoes instead of the salad (no extra charge) and they made them crispy which was just how I wanted them. The surprise for both my husband and I was the salad he got. Normally, neither of us are fond of kale but in that salad it was delicious. It wasn't super tough or butter which can sometimes be an issue. The melt was also good. Our son devoured his entire plate and was super happy with everything. Which is always a huge plus. This was a perfect place to come with everyone. It was inviting, fast and with good food. There are so many options that there is something for everyone and no one left still hungry or disappointed.

But the sweet girl taking orders didn't really know what she was doing and put in our order a bit wrong. The couple in front of us had their order messed up too. The interior of the place wasn't that inviting or clean, but we opted to eat in anyway. But IF we go back that won't be happening. My husband got a basic cheese pizza because that's how he judges all pizza places the first time around. It was just OK to him. I got the pickle chips since they were 'breaded in-house' and the BBQ Burger. The pickle chips were so over-seasoned and salty I couldn't even eat them - and I LOVE salt. What a shame. The only redeeming thing was the burger and fries. While the burger didn't have what it was supposed to on it and you don't get the option on the temperature of the meat, it was still a good burger. The fries were also super crispy and fluffy inside. So pretty hit-and-miss for me. I'm going to have to think twice before I go back.

This place was a bit of a hike for us but so worth it for the delicious pizza. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, garlic knots, and deluxe hibachi that comes with beef, chicken, and shrimp and a side salad and soup. If we were rating this place on the pizza and knots alone-5 stars all day long. The crust is so light, chewy and flavorful. The garlic knots actually remind me of the super unique rolls at the local Brazilian steakhouse. They have an outer chew but the inside is so soft that it almost melts in your mouth. The hibachi was...okay. My first bite of the entire meal was the beef and it was unfortunately so chewy that it was inedible. I crossed my fingers it was just that one piece. Nope. Our family ended up discarding every piece of beef, which was an expensive disappointment. The shrimp and chicken were tasty but overshadowed by the sea of onions and mushrooms. We were grateful for the salad and soup, although we couldn't distinguish what the soup was meant to be. My kiddo asked what the hot, brown salt water was. :-) The ginger salad was iceberg lettuce with a very thick, chunky ginger dressing. If that's your thing, rock on! For hibachi, we will probably stick with Fuji. In general, we will be back for the pizza soon and look forward to trying the burgers, which we've heard are great.
