Got into Arizona after 10pm and we were hungry after driving 6 hours. The team working the graveyard were super nice, very attentive. Good customer service. The hashbrown burger was good. The pecan pancake was delicious but needed more crunch. The texas chicken melt was bomb.

This is the best Waffle House in town, the service and food is why we drive to this location far from our house. Our waiter even played our favorite tunes in the juke box. The Texas bacon melt and a pecan waffle is what I ordered with a coffee. There's usually about a 10 minute wait time.

So being from SGV CA, we don't get the Waffle House often. Since we were traveling to AZ for a weekend trip we knew we would have to come to at least one Waffle House on this trip. We randomly picked this location on our maps application and it did not disappoint. This location seemed newer and maybe a little bigger than some of the other locations we have visited in the past. The gal that took our order was great. Lots of personality but professional and very nice. My wife and I shared the All Star special but we upgraded the waffles to include pecans. It was plenty of food but more importantly, it was very very good. Love their sausage patties. My in-laws were with us and he was going on and on about the patties too. Our coffees were constantly being refreshed and can't wait to get back.

Totally spur of the moment stop for breakfast here on the way to doing errands. No verbal greeting when we entered and after a few moments, we were told to pick somewhere to seat; one booth was empty so we sat there. It's actually been years since we've stopped at a Waffle House and I have to say, this one wasn't one of the cleanest places for sure. Bathrooms were out of TP and paper towels, which we reported. We also remembered one of the fun things of being at Waffle House was hearing the staff banter and yell back orders to the cooks...didn't experience that here so not sure if that has changed with the chain or just this site. Ordered the waffle with pecans...not impressed. It wasn't crispy, actually doughy to be honest and it had several pecans on it. Also ordered two scrambled eggs with ham and smothered hash browns (with onions). Asked for those to be extra crispy, which the top side was. Also had a biscuit with apple butter. Overall...not a bad meal. Certainly not top notch but good. Second order was two eggs medium with sausage and toast. Again, an ok meal, nothing to write home about. Our server, Zachary, was a personable young man who said that he loved working there. Wife worked at a Waffle House in Tucson when she was in high school (many, many years ago!) so she shared her experience from then. There are way better places in the Ahwatukee area for breakfast, but the nostalgia was what made us stop and eat there.

Oh my goooodddnesss!!!! Best Waffle House from Az to Houston!! And trust me, I've tried just about every one along the i10 corridor. Rowland is the manager but even better the OUTSTANDING cook and customer service guru! Rowland cooked up this All Star like he invented the special. He kept the station sanitized and clean. I wanted to give compliments of the chef to the manager. Lo and behold HE WAS THE MANAGER. I didn't take pictures of the food because i ate it too fast. 10/10 recommend!!!

Our usual middle of the night restaurant was unexpectedly closed and this was one of our other 2 nearby options. Service was fine, food was fine, only had to fight off 2 different types of flying bugs hovering around the table and we left as soon as the super loud country of all country music came on but we were ready to leave anyway. Might return in a pinch but will always try for IHop first.

Haven't been to waffle house in years, and I must say, these guys did great with the food. Only gripe was it wasn't the cleanest. Super kind staff and small / easy to read menu. Stuck with a classic and got the all star. The place is small so friendly! You'll def be arms length between other eaters.

My family and I visited this location on a busy Sunday morning. Despite it being busy, the staff were very welcoming and our waitress was very sweet! The food was delicious and I still dream about the chocolate chip waffle. We drove out from SoCal and will definitely be making the trip back soon!

Waffle House! It's always a great late night option. We were all hungry and my cousin jokingly said he was going to Waffle House and we all said, let's do it! We were seated immediately and hd great service. I ordered eggs, grits and a hash brown, everything was delicious. Their eggs are incredibly good. Don't be afraid to add them to your late night meal options, you won't be disappointed.

Perfect spot when you're craving breakfast for dinner!! Based on Yelp this location had the best reviews in the area. Ordered the Texas Bacon Egg & Cheese sandwich that comes with hash browns. Also ordered a Pecan waffle! I recently saw an old Anthony Bourdain Waffle House video where he praised the pecan waffle so I've been wanting to try it. Definitely did not disappoint! I loved how delicious everything was and not overly greasy. The customer service was also great!

He mentioned a pickle martini, which I ordered at lunch and was very good. My wife ordered the welcome burger and enjoyed it except for them getting the toppings wrong. Our granddaughter really liked her mac and cheese and there was a generous serving of sliced fruit. And my Jose Burger had just enough spice and was very tasty. That what's the good. So we stopped here for lunch on a Friday about 12:30 with our 3-year-old granddaughter. Our initial server barely said two words to us and we felt like we were an imposition. When we ordered my wife asked did they have Pepsi or Coke products he said we have bottles and cans of everything, so she ordered a Coke. It was Mexican Coke which is fine, but $5, and it wasn't until we noticed other people had cans of regular Coke and realized he did not give us a choice. When we ordered our burgers, again he barely said two words and did not ask us how we wanted them cooked even though the menu says cook to order. When we got them they were very rare, see the picture, which we're okay with although we would have ordered them a little more done. My wife said no onions on hers, and of course there was onions on her berger. Later we were served by a waitress who was much more friendly and we realize was probably just not there yet when we sat down, so the initial waiter didn't really care what we thought since we weren't going to be his customers at the end. So sadly what could have been a very pleasant lunch was spoiled by the initial waiter, even though the food was good we may not be back.

We LOVED our visit to Diner 50 and this is now my go-to breakfast spot downtown. Everything was perfection. We loved the art inside and outside, music, and vibe. Our server was warm, enthusiastic, and had immaculate timing. We appreciated how playful and passionate she was. I swear she knew the name of every guest who walked through the door, and asked them thoughtful questions about their loved ones or travels. This is obviously a place that people return to and become regulars at. An excellent sign. What we were not expecting (and SO DELIGHTED WITH) was the cat rescue space through the adjoining wall. We are all cat-obsessed, so walking in and seeing a room full of absolute sweeties playing around added 100,000 points to the experience. The coffee? Epic. Served in a nearly soup bowl sized cup (hot) or gigantic mason jar (iced). Diner coffee can sometimes leave much to be desired but this coffee was soooo delicious and strong. The food? So awesome. I went with a classic breakfast plate - eggs, sausage, potatoes, blueberry pancakes. I added a biscuit because the menu said they were homemade and I had to try it. It was exceptional, I would go back just for the sausage and biscuit and coffee. My coworker got the huevos rancheros with red and green sauce and I was massively jealous. Everyone left over-caffeinated with bellies full of delicious food and hearts warm from being so well taken care of by our lovely server and getting to play with kitties. The prices are fair, the food and coffee are delicious and homemade, and the service is exceptional. I am someone who really values being involved with my community, so I feel great about spending my money somewhere that is clearly beloved by my neighbors and pours back into them. Thank you Diner 50 for being such an unexpected delight!

When it came out, the steak was smaller than I expected and pretty chewy. It also seemed much leaner than what I usually expect from a ribeye, with very little marbling. I'd just personally skip the steak next time and try something else.

Fast forward nine years to 1938, and Fred MacAlpine purchased it, renaming it for his namesake, and operating it as a full-service pharmacy and soda fountain until 1991. It was then purchased by a couple who still own it today and have kept it in as much of its original condition as possible, including the soda fountain, the counter, and the malt machine. When you park and walk to the front of the yellow building, you can't help but feel joy. The storefront windows, the antiques, all of it make you wonder just how far back in time you're going to travel. Once you've stepped foot inside and onto the checkered floor, you can't help but smile at the counter, all of the antiques from decades past, and the wait staff who wears 1950s uniforms. We slid into our wood booth with the tiny jukebox on the wall and immediately got to reviewing the extensive menu. Everything... and I mean EVERYTHING... looked good. Bonus: They have gluten-free bread! My husband chose the cheeseburger and I chose the turkey BLT (on gluten-free bread) - both were delicious! We then opted to share a mint chocolate chip milkshake that was created on the original 1940s machine - something that completed the experience. When we were done, we were fortunate enough to chat with Monica Heizenrader, co-owner of MacAlpine's wth her daughter. She is a very kind woman who is very passionate about keeping the history of this diner alive, even taking to selling antiques (in the other rooms of the building) to help support the upkeep. However, with rising costs and some family challenges, it's getting tough. She was proud to have kept this going as long as she and her family have and even mentioned some of the more notable people that have stepped into the diner over the decades, including Barry Goldwater (a regular), Joan Ganz Cooney (one of the creators of Sesame Street), Frank Lloyd Wright, Aunt Maud, Marshall Good, Wayne Newton (who was discovered by a talent scout there), and more!
