Never been to a Waffle House until today and I am impressed. The two women who worked here are friendly and courteous! I was about to order to go but there was no need as my All Star meal was cooked in less than 5 minutes and delicious. Hash Browns are unique here as they are mixed with other things like mushrooms, onions, ham and cheese. I did that and put my eggs on top (Very delicious). Also it us the WAFFLE HOUSE you should get WAFFLES there too. All of this and a soda for less than $16 with tip. I highly recommend. read more

We came here for breakfast after stopping by a different location to eat. We walked in and was greeted by all the staff members which were very friendly and helpful. We were given a table and drinks immediately. We finally decided what we wanted to eat it within five minutes of ordering our food was hot fresh and at our table. This is all we ask for a friendly service, a good meal and quick. If you're looking for breakfast lunch or dinner and have a quick with the friendly staff I would recommend this place. For the 3363 E University Dr location My girlfriend Gia (black), the child she was babysitting Gianna(white), and I Derrick(black) arrived at waffle house around 1:26PM sat in the seats infront of the door in a waiter named Kayla's section. Being a regular at waffle house Gia and I knew our order and we ordered when she first greeted us at the table bringing us our silverware. Gia ordered a HI-C (the waitress didn't know what HI-C was at first) with a 2 egg meal with and I ordered an allstar combo with a rootbeer and a peanut butter waffle. I could tell Kayla was new because she interrupted me while ordering my all star combo. Being rude when I stressed grits to make sure she had the order correct, she stated rudely "you can get grits or hashbrowns". She then went to go put in the order, she brought us our drinks and asked if we would like a drink for Gianna. We order a kids HI-C. She brings Gianna's drink out while we search for something to order. She points at the steak dinner and says "pancake", we ordered her a kids meal with bacon. We are sitting waiting for our food longer than usual, two gentlemen entered the building but no one had left out. There was one other family located 3 stalls away from the music box. The waitress then brought us out sausage and bacon and began sweeping. The waitress brought out eggs, toast, and grits for me. Eggs and toast for Gia, and Gianna's waffle. She then returned to sweeping. We waited a few minutes then asked her for syrup thinking she had forgot it trying to be understanding. Gianna never cried. At about 1:44 a lady police officer enters the building she instantly makes eye contact with me and the approaches us. Not speaking with anyone else in the waffle house. She stated the she was approached by a customer that had recently left Waffle House at the quick trip more than 2 miles down the road who stated we were with a little girl who did not seem to be "responding" to us when she was offered a waffle. She stated kids are usually more "interactive" at restaraunts. She then stays and asks a few questions as to our reasons for being with the child, we explain to her that Gia is her baby sitter and Gia offers to call her mother. By now Gianna has eaten almost 3/4th of the waffle and almost all of the bacon The police officer refuses. Apologizes, and returns outside to her vehicle where she is parked outside the window. Almost as soon as the police officer walks away the manager Mathew appears and asks what was going on, we explain what had happened explaining the police office thought we had kidnapped her. He then walks outside to the police car and talks to her for about 4 minutes. The waitress finally brings me my waffle, without peanut butter. I tell her she forgot it and she quickly corrected the problem. As I quickly eat the waffle I still do not understand the gravity of what had just happened. The manager came back in from speaking with the police officer, corrorates her story, apoligized while Gia is on the phone with Gianna's mother returned to the back. Two men entered. We received our bill which was 8 dollars over charged. Bringing us a bill for 36 dollars I was able to speak to another cashier who corrected her mistakes and I paid my bill of 28.99. I left no tip, then returned to work. I returned 20 minutes later to get the managers name and asked the employees his name I was told Mathew, they then called him to the front and I asked him who called the police on us, he stated some customer down at quicktrip while they were getting a drink who had left before the police had arrived. The evidence stating that was a lie: No customers left while we were ordering our food in reference to the waffle situation. Police officers have to be dispatched. He changed his story the second time. The police would never tell if it was the manager or another employee. The manager did not have a story until he went outside and spoke with the police officer to see what she had said. Police officers are always dispatched and cannot be sent anywhere. read more

Only problem was a lady, who I believe was the assistant cook, was washing grill equipment in front of us on the counter, splashing water and soap on our food and arms. I have been wanting to try waffle house since I moved here because we dont have them in San Diego to my knowledge. Well, really, my gf has been telling me how great they are "after a night of partying"... and we don't party all that much so Saturday night, after a LONG night we decided to go with our neighbor, and it must have been about 3 am (technically Sunday). So we finally get there and we go ahead and have a seat because there is no sign telling us to wait to be seated. There are no menus and the only table available is dirty with dishes left over from the last patrons. But we figured, its late and they probably just left. So we sat and waited to be greeted/drink order taken/table cleaned? Something? Anything?? HELLO!?!?! Meanwhile the waitress is waiting on people sitting at the counter, truckers I guess? -she's chattin it up and having a gay old time. Finally after about 15 to 20 mins ( felt like an eternity, especially at 3 am) we got up and left and shouted a big THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING as I left. Wow... It will have to be a seriously long night before I ATTEMPT to eat there again. I'm told "the other locations are not like that". I'll believe that when and if I see it. I can't believe I'm reviewing Waffle House, but here goes. If you have never been to a Waffle House before, the food is exactly what you'd expect: greasy, unhealthy, and strangely enticing. I normally wouldn't put Cheese Eggs and Grits at the top of my "to-eat" list but few things sound better after a night of drinking. If you have been to a Waffle House before, the food is exactly the same as you remember. The only distinction this location possesses is that it is very clean. Pristine, even. I don't know if it is always so immaculate, but I was shocked. I'm used to a Waffle House that looks like an unkempt trailer on the inside, not a passable budget restaurant. The food is really worthy of only two-stars, but this location gets four because when you eat there, you feel like you must be part of some rare historical accomplishment. Only one server and he was overwhelmed. Ok - Friday evening ( 8 pm ish ) and I can understand trying to cut corners on expenses by letting a server go but NEVER cut corners where it counts. Service is one area that will break a restaurant or more important bring people back. ( food of course is the other ) One server was unable to get the orders correct, product out to the customers nor clean up. Given that the cook was doing her job . . . the person taking / putting in and delivery of said orders was the weak link here. He was overwhelmed with having the entire floor to himself. Was looking forward to trying it for the first time and must say what a disappointment. Waitress was polite but all staff was running around in such chaos and not very many people there. Today was my boyfriend and I, first time eating here! It was amazing and such great customer service. We told our server that it was our first time and she recommend us so many options. I don't know how to spell her name, (sorry). But she was super friendly, made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Way better service and food here than at the Denny's across the street hahaha! First timers to Waffle House and we couldn't have been happier. A warm welcome and hello from several employees started this visit off in a terrific way. Lola was friendly and efficiently seated her guests - we waited just about 15 minutes on a Sunday morning in February, Valentine's Day actually. The food smells delicious here and it was. We sat at the high bar after being graciously invited forward by the head chef. Our pecan waffle was cooked to perfection and studded with pecans, warmed over with maple syrup. The hash browns were delectable - cooked crispy brown and filled/topped with our choices - ham, tomatoes, cheese... yum. 5:30am - WOW, looks like the 2 employees were NOT interested in working there. I frequent this location and usually receive an immediate Good Morning greeting. This time, I sat at the main counter; the waitress comes over next to me TO COLLECT HER TIP from the previous customer WITHOUT ANY acknowledgement of my existence. I suggest NINA get training from the other workers I encounter there. If you want to know how much I liked this experience, I gave a $25 tip on a $35 bill. Monika (I believe that was her name) is the sweetest most attentive server I have seen in a long time. Absolutely delightful and made sure we were cared for with refills, cleaning up quickly, a happy attitude and fast. I cannot say enough good things about her. But that's not enough... I am lucky to compare one Waffle House to another in Tennessee that I went to. Complete opposites. This one was clean...even the usual sticky syrup containers were clean! A party of 6 with 3 adults and 3 kids can't fix at one table so we spilt the table for comfort and the server Rebecca looked at us like why we given her more work. Then placing the order seems to be ok until it was time for delivery it to us. She gave us mix up orders add things we never ask for then Rebecca began to argue with me about what I ordered. I had to tell look I never ask for what you claim I did. My table order eggs/bacon regular not a kids size like she tried to claim. I never said kids portion to her at all. Then she went to our other table and said them same shit to them. She look like she could read what she wrote. The waffle was cold the eggs was cold. The grilled chicken sandwich was smelling like bacon. People who don't eat meat shouldn't eat here because they cook everything together not cleaning the cook station. Waffle House has never let me down and this location didn't either. It was roomier than others I have been to, so that was a plus. Our server was very attentive and so were the other servers there. I really felt the servers provided exceptional customer service, constantly coming by to ask if we needed anything else. The food was delicious as usual. First time we had ordered sausage there, they use the sausage patties. The waffles were phenomenal! They are a must to order, even if you've never been much of a waffle person before. I went down to Phoenix for Spring Training and ran across this place in the middle of no where. Waffle in the name of the joint and I love breakfast food so why not? Went in there first thing I saw was a Lamborghini outside the Waffle House, and my friends claimed they just saw Amare going into it. I was too slow to confirm this nor could i get a camera out so oh wells, but if rich people will eat here, why not an average joe like me? The place is a bit small, I wouldn't bring a group of 5 or more since none of the table can be together. The wait wasn't horribly long, about 5-10 mins. When we sat down the waitress was prompt with the menu and gave us some time to order which is rare in a quick serving food joint that's packed. The service was okay but the cleanliness could use improvement. Some of the syrup bottles had been leaking for awhile and built a nasty sticky crust on the outside of the bottles. The exterior of the restaurant looked great, customer service could use some improvements with a smile!
