Visited this restaurant after arriving in Shereveport. What a wonderful experience I had. The staff were friendly, pleasant, and funny while being professional. The food was prepared to perfection. And very tasty. When I mentioned that I preferred regular coffee over decav...the server Marshon simply made a fresh pot even though she stated that late night patrons usually asks for decav. Kenny was funny and amicable while exhibiting excellent skills as a chef. What would have been a typical experience was excellent. Thank you. read more

Stopped in for breakfast just before 7 am prior to catching my flight out. Sat at a booth waitress asked if I would like dine in or to go, I replied in. Took my order and a short time later my food came out served by the cook. He explained that it was shift change as he serves me my breakfast on all to go plastic(spork included). My look of shock demanded some additional information. He went on to tell me my waitress did not want to clean(wash dishes) up after me. The food was as always perfectly cooked and good. 3 stars for right down the middle ok...neither horrible nor fabulous. Quite possibly a typical experience, I don't really know since it has been a few years since my last visit to any Waffle House. This location was a natural option since it was only about a block from my hotel. The restaurant was about half full upon my arrival. I was able to take a seat quickly and order. My Server came over promptly. I decided to go with a medium-well T-bone with a side of bacon and fried egg. My Server returned with a list of options for cooking my egg from the Cook as fried egg was not an option. I chose over-medium. I had no idea what I was getting myself into with that but it turned out just fine. A little added black pepper was all I needed. The food was ok - it was cooked in the manner that I ordered it and it didn't take long to arrive. It was neither drop dead delicious nor hell no horrible - a reasonably ok meal. I'm not dying to dine there again, however, if I hadn't had other meal options I would have gone back. While eating, my Server doubled back at least once to make sure that all was well. When I finished dining, paying the bill was quick and easy. No harm, no foul, no problems. Overall an uneventful and okay experience. read more

We don't ever plan on ever going back here again. Plain simple customer service wasn't on display today. Today for Father's Day breakfast, we came here as backup since Crackle Barrel was closed. We walked in , got greeted by a waitress walking in which was pleasant. We walked in about to sit down, we noticed that none of the seats/ tables could fit our party (6 total, 2 adults, my daughter 12, 2 sons 5,2 and we had my nephew whose 6 with us.) we moved to the other area, which had a seat on the table, so we put the seat down and sat. After about 5-10 minutes, we noticed that we were intentionally being ignored, didn't understand it. Finally someone came by and stated, someone will be with you in a minute, we said okay. Then a couple minutes later someone said, good morning, okay, then a waiter made the comment that we were sitting in a closed area and walked away. After another minute, I asked another waitress do we need to move to another location? She said, it's fine sine the manager acknowledged you. So I'm upset because all this time, no one said anything and we were clearly being ignored. After I said this. Manager (I'm assuming was the manager) saying that no one was ignoring us because we said good morning. Refusing to argue with them because other waiters jumped in saying that we were sitting in a closed area. My question was, how we're we supposed to know that it was closed, there wasn't a sign, and no one said anything when we walked in. We don't live in this area, so that fact is they were intentionally ignoring us because they assumed that we should have known that the area was closed. Yeah a waitress came over after 10 minutes and acknowledged us after I guess realizing that we didn't move. This situation could have been avoided, had when we walked in and sat in the closed area, someone immediately told us that, this area was closed and we would have promptly moved to another area, sat and ate the food. Communication is lacking in the world, I wish people would stop assuming people know the expectations and just speak. read more

I tried to explain to my kids that one does not eat at the WH for quality, one eats there for convenience! That said, they have the best coffee in the US! Food is greasy as fk, but my wife frowns on me ordering this type of food back home, so I take full advantage of this when traveling alone. Its like I am cheating on her, but without the fear of STDs coming into play. I have tried going native and ordering smothered, covered and many other variations, but they are done so lazily that I seldom get that slice of cheese properly melted and evenly distributed. I also wish they would drop off the waffle a few minutes after the food, as I like to finish that last; instead of it just sitting there cooling. I have asked them to hold off at times, but that just confuses the staff, so I stopped. Overall the food is a 3, but the grease tends to prop it up another star and then there is the All-star coffee. My favorite part is sitting at the counter and watching the interaction between staff or with customers: At times the show is better than the food! The location of this WH is down the road from the airport and a great stop coming to or from your trip. read more

Waffle house is one of those type of places that only exist because simple people need somewhere to eat. Today I became one of those simple people when I was checking on a rental car over by the airport(Enterprise). I think most people have been to one of these type of places if they're in the south but if not its quite plain and easy to eat here.Its basically a diner like setting and you get to see them cook your food. They even have a jukebox that plays more than just country music.The inside is either table sitting or you can eat at the counter.I doubt they can get anymore than 20 people in there though Its really small.All the waitresses are really nice and you feel like you've stepped back in time with the small town diner feeling. Anyway,on to the food. I'm vegetarian so all I had was the hashbrowns(that come on a small plate), and the Pecan waffles.The waffles were ok but nothing I'd want to eat everyday. They were like $3.50 and the hashbrowns were a dollar and change. Like I insinuated earlier.Its as plain and simple as the slower paced life most of these restaurants are located in.I remember when i did eat eggs at a Waffle house years ago i thought "WH"s looked kind of funny. Whatever, I'm going to Waffle House. We brought folks in to SHV and were headed to our hotel at 0930 am. The rooms weren't ready yet, so we got a ride down to this nearby Waffle House for breakfast. It's been awhile since I ate at a Waffle House (formerly Toddle House) and it was consistently, a Waffle House. The crew that eats Pecan Waffles together, stays together. Tasty, light, yet filling, went great with over-easy eggs and a glass of milk. Service was also consistently Waffle House and the three flies buzzing around the restaurant seemed right-at-home in this location that was five minutes from the airport and two seconds off of I-20. They don't take American Express, our corporate card, but the pilots were paying so that wasn't my problem. Haha. Consistency is key and this Waffle House brought it home when we were tired, hungry, and still wearing our uniforms. read more

I was welcomed as I walked in and everyone was very friendly, my waitress( which I don't recall her name) was friendly and made good conversation. We got in to Shreveport at around 8 pm and after finally checking in to our cheap hotel me and my dad were starving. We braved this little ghetto waffle house and it was decent. I actually wanted some friend chicken and their was NONE! But I did have a delicious bacon cheese burger. My dad had a piece of chocolate cream pie and chocolate milk. I live down the street from this location so this is a quick place to go get some breakfast or lunch, but i unfortunately have never had a good experience here. My friend and i walked in and were completely ignored for the first 3-5 minutes. no one greeted us or even looked at us. Then we were seated at a dirty table and were told to wait one second for someone to come clear the dishes and wash the table. The waitress walked away mid sentence of me ordering so that she could bring another table their food 3 TIMES! After finally getting our order in, it was made wrong and smothered in pepper. She brought us someone elses food too. we told her we didn't order that and she said thats okay it's on the house. I also had to ask for silverware and napkins because they didn't put them down after cleaning the table. The kitchen staff was really loud with plates getting angrily slammed down and several plates were dropped and a few glasses even broke. We were seated next to the kitchen doors where staff was coming in and out on their cell phones while were were waiting for re-fills and our food, and one could be seen eating food and licking her fingers while exiting back to the floor without washing her hands. Upon receiving the check we were overcharged for the items they brought us that we didn't order and were charged several up charges for hash browns that we didn't request anything special on.
