I came in here at 2am. in the morning. This along Earns you 3 stars. This is a small location compared to some locations in the south. My favorite dish at The Waffle House, believe it or not, is the hashbrowns. There are endless possible combinations. I always add jalapeños, onions, green peppers, and tomatoes. I didnt catch my servers name but lets just assume she was having a bad day because she dis the bare minimum. And by bare minimum i mean take my order. I wanted a back booth so putting my leg up on the opposong bench or maybe if i needed to slouch for support on my neck. Didnt even wipe the table down. What she did was give me silverware and the came back about 10 min later to take my order. The person who made my sandwhich and hash browns was the one who served me asked if i was ok. And eventually i had tonask him to ring me up. Did i get my order ticket nope. I had to tell him what i ordered. I left a bare minimum tip to the server who took my order because sitting on her phone while it was harging seemed to be more of a priority than her job. This is the first semi bad experience ive had there. I know it was 3am. But after a 9 hour shift and over a 2 hour drive nothing else is open without door dashing. The gentleman who prioritized me as a customer was true example of an employee and seemed to care about his job and the people there. Hence he got the remainder of the tip plus extra for his service and attitude. Every part of me wanted to walk out without paying but thats not who i am. To the server who may have been having a horrible day and hates night shift.....i get it but here is my advice to her. Do better. Take a lesson from others in customer service. read more

Despite not being very busy, the wait staff seemed more interested in other orders they had coming in. I'm not sure if they were online orders or what. Usually they are on point in other restaurants but tonight the folks here were definitely not. It took forever for me to get my order taken and for me to get the actual food. Other people came in and got their order and food before I did. When my food finally came it was missing parts of the order and I had to wait more for them. The waiter came and asked about the missing parts of my order and I'm thinking to myself, if you already know, why are you asking? You know? Not sure what the problem was in the end, but yeah. Well, I don't really have much good to say about this place and the food isn't fit to eat. I'm serious. What's most unbelievable is that people are lining up to eat it. If I'd had to wait for a table here and somebody served me this slop, well, I couldn't be responsible for what then comes out of my mouth. This is the first time I've eaten there and probably the last and from what I understand the food is the same at all of them. My over easy eggs were broken and swimming in griddle grease. At least they tasted like eggs. One suggestion would be to always ask for your toast dry unless you want it smeared with so much goop that I'm pretty sure isn't butter, as to promote the artery clogging process. And then there's what they referred to as grits. It was a pile of over-salted grossness from which I took 2 bites. After writing the above, atmosphere and ambiance are a non-issue. There aren't many alternatives in the area for a nice breakfast out but trust me, if you look hard enough you're bound to find something better...way better. read more

Ordered their breakfast special and the first bad sign was my food arrived before my drink. No refills, when my drink arrived it also came with the check....sorta given the hint for me to eat what you have and leave. Secondly no syrup was served for my "waffle". This was the worst looking waffle I had ever seen from a restaurant. Not planning on ever dinning-in, maybe lunch since they have a friendlier atmosphere during breakfast and lunch hours. This specific Waffle House was the worst experience I've ever had. My wife and I are avid WH fans, and this severely crushed expectations after a long night. Not only was our service shoddy, but our orders were wrong, blatant knowledge of food being cooked wrong and given to us to eat anyways, and missing side orders. Definitely won't come back to this location, I look forward to getting home to my regular location. read more

Well here is the dilemma- the food is good and the service was great but the worker behind the counter made the comment that the eggs in the back of the refrigerator were expired and should have been thrown away in October. This makes you wonder what else could be expired and might be out of date. As for our meal and service today it was great. We had no issues. I love Waffle House waffles! I usually go every morning and order take out I use to dine in a lot but the service wasn't so good after our favorite server left. Always having to ask for refills or mayo or ect... The price was never the same as we ordered the same items. But over all the foods great! read more

My family and I walked in at about noon today. Walked over to a booth, feet sticking to the floor the entire time. Food and trash all over the floor. We sat down and grabbed the menu. The menus were sticking and greasy. We hot up and walked out. We opted for McDonald's across the street, which was remarkably cleaner! I know Saturday overnights are probably rough at waffle house but yiu still need to clean! Absolutely disgusting. read more

Visited around 5 am 04/24/2019. Amber, my server, was prompt, efficient and friendly. I have never had a bad meal at a Waffle House, but I must praise the cook that morning (alas, I did not get her name). I asked for my hash browns to be cooked a bit crispy. Not only were the potatoes cooked exactly to my taste, the onions were caramelized. They were the best hash browns I have ever tasted. The rest of the meal was perfect, but the hash browns stand out. Boring food. I stopped by only because there's very few options open 24 hrs. Wouldn't stop by if I had any other options

My wife and I usually stay at the Red Roof in Hagerstown for one reason and that is it is close to Waffle House and you get a lot of bang for your buck. This trip we were totally shocked. We forgot our Menu with Dollars Menu for Breakfast, Hash brown bowls and 16 Meals under $6 so stopped in after we checked in to get a new menu. It was like we were at a totally different restaurant than we have gone into for the past 9 years. All our favorites were gone and worse yet the prices were jacked up way high. Worse yet they took away the fantastic omelets especially the Fiesta Omelet which has always been a favorite. We skipped going to dinner their that night and went to a Chinese Restaurant across the street. The next morning as I drove out to McDonalds for our Breakfast I noticed Waffle House had only 3 cars instead of the 20 we would usually see at 10:00 on Sunday morning and understood the reason for it. My wife and I missed our Waffle House treat and will probably stay at an exit 20 miles away for a better Red Roof Inn as well as a Denny's restaurant within walking distance. read more
