Be careful of this place. I go to Prescott a couple times a year and the Waffle iron is a regular stop. The last time we were there I made the mistake of letting the waitress know that we are from Tucson, 3-1/2 hours away. On a $97 bill I left a $20 tip. After we left the waitress added another $50 to the tip. Several calls to the business and they told me the money was going to be refunded, but never was. A liar and a lousy waitress. read more

Four of us had a late breakfast and each of us loved our food. I didn't take photos because we were so hungry and the food was gone by the time I thought of it. Been going to waffle iron every time we come up to Prescott for a vacation. We loved it so much that it's a stop every time before heading home. But this time, it's not the same. We ordered our usual breakfast. When our food came out, eggs looked like there was 1 egg and just smashed down so it looks a lot of the plate. Hash browns were burnt. Either different chef in the back or they just don't care anymore. Sadly, we will not be coming back. read more

Neat little local spot in Prescott in a historic building. We went on a Saturday morning and while it was busy, it wasn't hectic. I can't go to a place called the Waffle Iron and not get a waffle. I got the pecan waffle and wasn't disappointed! Crispy but fluffy on the inside, hot with butter and syrup. It was absolutely delicious. Plus, the coffee was good and fresh, and the service was a super quick for a weekend morning! We weren't expecting that. As a note, since it's a historic building, the bathrooms are tiny and not baby-friendly. No changing table. Not their fault, just something to plan for! read more

This restaurant has new ownership. I have eaten at this restaurant under the prior ownership for many years and the food was always great, and dining always had a local/family western type flavor, which was enjoyable, but remodeling was overdue. So I was excited to see remodeling going on inside while this business was closed temporarily. Yesterday we decided to try out the new restaurant and found out it was under new ownership. I really like to see new business succeed in Prescott. Inside very little remodeling had been done, but no big deal. I ordered an omelette with green chili and shredded pork, opted for fruit in place of hash browns and pancakes came with the meal, no drinks except for water. My friend had a mini waffle and diced ham with scrambled eggs, fruit cup plus a water. Our bill: $40.00. (For breakfast). Berries were frozen and soggy, eggs over cooked. Pancakes were doughy, waffle over cooked. Plus we paid with a credit card and were charged 4 percent extra. We decided to pay cash instead and the manager or owner (not sure which), could not have been less disinterested. No eye contact, no interest in how we liked the new restaurant, no eye contact and not a word spoken to us. Now it was not all bad. The servers were great. Very attentive, accommodating, kind and competent. But what is unfortunate is that no matter how good the service, if the food is not great, the customers will not come. So I would be surprised if this resturant, without major changes will be a success. We were told the cook is the same cook as in the prior ownership. But perhaps the completely new menu has not helped and I for one, came here for great waffles and the old menu choices. Big mistake to suddenly change the menu on long time local customers, and perhaps others have had a much better experience. I have no reason to harbor any ill will towards this new business, and I hope the owners will take this review as an opportunity to improve. I wish them the best, but I won't be coming back for another $40.00 so-so breakfast. read more

So first the good news, service was amazingly good. The new or reupholstered booths are nice, the menu had a lot of options. Now, for the bad news. I was so hopeful because the new owner ran a place in Prescott Valley that was absolutely superb. Sadly, this spot does not compare. There were three of us who went for breakfast. 2 of us ordered coffee. It was hideous. They did frequently offer more of it which my husband bought into for a second cup but I couldn't get through the first cup. It was weak to the point where when I added one creamer it turned white. Okay on to the food. I ordered corned beef hash well done, scrambled eggs dry and hash browns. The hash was out of a can for sure it was okay. My eggs were runny wet rather than dry. My husband and son each ordered custom meat omelets. They looked more like crepes. Very little meat in them. The bill was almost $70 before the tip! We could have eaten at the St Michael Bistro for that kind of money. Won't be back. Life is too short for mediocre food. read more

Sadly, while this place has promise after a retool, it's become just another Prescott breakfast place. Same old, same old eggs 'n meat. As a vegetarian, it gets very old to be offered no savory side to substitute for the breakfast meat. There are other, more innovative and accommodating restaurants in Prescott where everyone is offered a full meal. We'll remember that for our weekly breakfast out. read more

Their specials sound fantastic and some of the offers I've not seen anywhere else (granted I don't often review breakfast). The test of a good breakfast place is your coffee cup. If it runs dry, not good. If it stays fresh and full, great! I never saw the bottom of mine here. The waitress was very attentive. I came in on a Saturday morning around 7:00. There were a few people, but not crowded. I was just seated and was asked for my drink order. I got coffee in about 2 minutes and was asked if I was ready to order. I don't make decisions that quickly in the morning without coffee. After a few sips, I decided on the buckwheat pancakes. They were out quickly. 2 light and fluffy cakes with whipped butter melting all over. They were good. I haven't had buckwheat pancakes in years. This is the first place in AZ I have seen them. While I was eating I did notice the cook had long hair and no hair net. I didn't find any hairs in my pancakes, but some people would make a big deal out of it. The waitress brought out a drink that I tested and it burned my tongue so bad!!! I am writing this review 3 hours later and my tongue is still sensitive! And the waitress wanted to give this to a 5 year old! I let her know it was WAY to hot and she didn't apologize at all. I asked her to put ice in the cup and she brought it back with cocoa spilling over the sides. The whole situation was dangerous! The waitress also dropped the check without a word. The whole experience was disappointing as the waitress acted like she didn't care about anything.
