I've seen this place all over Instagram, so I finally decided to check it out with my family. We went with the Silver package, which I thought was just okay. To be honest, I didn't feel like there was a huge difference between the Silver and Gold levels, so next time I might try the Platinum package to experience the Japanese Wagyu. Most of the meats were not marinated, so they provide ponzu sauce and sweet soy sauce at the table for dipping. My favorite cuts were definitely the Wagyu hanger steak and ribeye -- flavorful and tender. Some of the other cuts were sliced very thin, which made them easy to accidentally overcook if you weren't paying close attention. I also tried all of the sushi rolls, and I appreciated that they were offered as half rolls, making it easier to sample everything. The tuna wasn't the best quality in my opinion, but the rolls with salmon were pretty good. They also had solid sides like kimchi and pickled radish, which helped balance out the heavier meats. Service here is fairly hands-off since everything is ordered through your phone. The food came out quickly, and the staff did a good job clearing empty plates throughout the meal. The restaurant is sectioned off well and didn't feel loud even though it was almost a full house. My biggest downside is the parking situation because how busy this plaza is. This just became one of our favorite KBBQ spots. We got the silver package, which was only $35 per person, and it's an absolute steal. Not only were the meats high quality, but the option to also have hot appetizers, sushi, ramen, and rice ordered is something you really can't find at many other KBBQ restaurants. Food comes out so quick, service is also nonstop with all the grill changes, we couldn't have been happier. Favorites included the black garlic ramen, bulgogi, and surprisingly the kurobuta pork. My visit to Wagyu Grill today was for a casual weekday lunch with my family. The staff was quick to greet us and seated us immediately. My first initial impressions was how clean and nicely decorative the place was. Our server Kalvin was very attentive, even refilling my mom's water without needing to ask. We decided to get the lunch special. For $25/person, there were plenty of great options to choose from. My personal favorites were the plate meat and clay pot rice. They also have 3 wonderful selections of sauce to choose from; Spicy Miso, Sweet soy, and Ponzu. The best part of the visit was most definitely the Sushi, my favorite was the Dragon Roll. We came here for a Friendsgiving dinner and had an amazing experience. We had a large table for 14, and the service was great--attentive, friendly, and well-organized despite our big group. For groups, everyone needs to order from the same menu tier (Silver, Gold, or Premium). We chose the Gold menu since it gives you a little bit of everything, and it was definitely the right choice. The wagyu was high quality, and the sashimi was surprisingly good for an AYCE spot. Speaking of AYCE, the sashimi and appetizers really stood out. The takoyaki was excellent--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with plenty of octopus. All of the rolls we tried were excellent as well. Honestly, there wasn't a single dish we ordered that we didn't like. The unagi don was solid, the ramen options were all good, and the miso soup was especially impressive--it tasted like the kind you'd get in Japan. The wagyu clay pot rice was also so good and a definite standout. The ambiance is modern and clean, making it a comfortable spot for a group gathering. They also have a salad and dessert bar on the side, plus really tasty kimchi that we kept going back for. I used to come here when it was Xi'an steam pot and yakiniku so I was quite curious of their updates. I got the premium tier so that I could see if it was worth it (and to try their oysters ofc). From the start I was happy to see the wagyu fried rice still on the menu (my favorite) but the amount of the fried rice is very little compared to before - but it's fine you can always order more :)). The salmon lover roll was very yummy here - the fish wasn't too fishy and it was a perfect melt in your mouth sensation. I tried all of their sashimi/carpaccio options and I thought these were good - I just wish they would serve straight sashimi though I could do without so much acidity but the fish quality was pretty decent. The Wagyu was just as yummy as I remembered and the beef tongue this day was so nice and soft not too chewy perfect thickness. Now the real question was this premium course worth 65+ dollars per person? Not really - I think the silver tier is best for most people but this was nice to do since we were here for a birthday. With the cost being 65 I expected a bit more variety with the cuts of Wagyu/meats but there wasn't that many. And tbh when I'm at an ayce meat place I'm not trying to fill up on sushi/rice. Don't get me wrong the pieces we tried were good (especially loved the scallop sashimi) but was it worth that much? I don't know...I def didn't eat that much to justify. This is our second experience here and it was nice to come back! We got the premium menu and tried a wide variety of their meats. The meats were sliced in bigger portions this time, which I think helped with the speed of service. Some of the meats suffered from being too chewy because of the cut though. The service was sweet, fast and kind. Our main server, Elissa, was exceptionally great. They serviced us as a team though and all our food arrived quickly. The portion sizes vary greatly, so be careful! The unagi bowl was small, which is very nice for ayce. The Udon bowl is huge! Good thing it's yummy! The hosts were also very kind. This spot offers three tiers for their AYCE grill: Silver, Gold, and Premium. We went with the Gold tier, which includes Australian wagyu. Next time, I'd like to try the Premium since it features Japanese Wagyu, which is something I think might make a big difference. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a really nice ambiance. They also have a salad and side bar with options like seaweed salad, pickled radish, cucumber kimchi, and more. I really enjoyed the cucumber kimchi, it was delicious, but the pickled radish was just okay. I've definitely had better. My partner and I tried both the sushi and the meats. For me, the meat wasn't as great as I hoped. The only one I found decent was the Wagyu bulgogi. The other cuts we tried tasted a bit dry and didn't meet my expectations, maybe the Japanese Wagyu on the Premium tier would have been better. The sushi was decent as well, nothing amazing but not bad either. Certain salmon pieces had an off color like the Salmon Sunomono but the flavoring was okay. Final Verdict: 3/5 overall, both the meat and sushi were okay. I thought the meat was really tough and hard even without cooking it for long. I think this place is really good! the base lunch menu is a great deal and had all the things I wanted to try (including some sushi rolls! see picture of the full $25 lunch menu of all items included), but if I ever feel like splurging will definitely upgrade to one of the premium menus. service was attentive without being intrusive, and there's no "stuffiness" or "smokiness" despite all the grilling going on (though, tbf, the place was not full when we were there for lunch). the veggie options are a little limited if you're looking for some balance, though the (relatively small) salad bar in the back have some options like zucchini kimchi, marinated bean sprouts, pickled daikon, and seaweed salad. the meat is decent quality, and I felt the sushi rolls were respectable as well. the salmon sunomono and white truffle tuna were also pretty good! there is a 90 minute dining limit which is more than enough time to try everything your stomach allows. looking forward to our next meal here! read more

What drew me in to try this restaurant was the AYCE bbq and sushi, for $25 lunch sign outside. I did not further investigate what that entailed, or read any reviews....until the day of our lunch. I read some reviews and felt maybe it wasn't worth the money or time. But my sister convinced me we should just give it a try. We arrived about 130p on a Tuesday for.lunxh, we got sat right away as restaurant had many tables open. We come to find out that the $25 didn't include sushi, and so we chose the silver level to start for our first time. There are 3 levels ne t being gold and then premium. TBH I didn't see what the other levels included because silver was gonna be sufficient. I'd read that the meat was tough as wagyu should be tender. But this was Australian wagyu, so not as tender as japanese wagyu which was offered on the premium level. The meats were thinly sliced enough, and cooked easily. Ordering was super easy on QR code. Up to 10 items every 3 minutes. After we got the hang of it, meats and sushi started rolling out. What stood out to us was the bulgogi. Wagyu fried rice, wagyu udon, hangar steak. The self serve sides were cucumber kimchi, kimchi, seaweed salad, radish, green salad, bean sprouts, and edamame. We left the restaurant full and content. Believe or not, the best part of our meal here was the sushi. The rolls were well constructed and had great fish to rice ratio, very flavorful too. The sashimi was ok though, the fish quality wasn't particularly amazing. I was disappointed with the meat quality. Almost every cut except for the boneless short rib was dry and chewy. The portions were also small per order but I didn't mind this as it allowed us to try everything before getting full. The sides like unagi and takoyaki were OK but definitely tasted like they've been reheated from frozen. The service was pretty good though so I'll give them that, but probably won't be returning. We went with the silver menu, tried almost everything and would say it wasn't worth it because of the meat quality. When we walked in, the manager was coming to the front desk, and yelled at the server that was there saying "I told you I dont want anybody here, go there and do something!" When walking in you are in a completely new area of the Milpitas plaza. I was shocked to see how beautiful it was on the inside. We got the premium menu to try for my birthday. It had the most amount of Wagyu and it was definitely the most interesting. Our waiter was great, but everything is ordered through the website to limit interruptions it made the moment more intimate. The quality of the Wagyu was great. I really enjoyed the wasabi they offered and the garlic slices to cut the fat. My favorite sauce they had was the ponzu. I was very surprised to see that the food options like the clay pot rice and the black garlic ramen was a sample size. I'll start with the positives here: the interior was very aesthetic, and the service was kind and relatively quick once we were seated. That being said, there were a few downsides to eating here, all of which seem like they discredit the experience enough that the price tag isn't worth it anymore. We had a party of 14 ready with a reservation for 1:00pm today, and we weren't seated until 20 minutes past our reservation time. Once seated they informed us of the limit on each round of orders. Each half of the table could only order 10 items per round. Typically this isn't a problem, but the platter sizes here are incredibly underwhelming. Many of the plates came with only two-four thin slices of meat. This meant that we spent a lot of time re-ordering meat so that we would have enough to feed everyone at once. The meat was also quite chewy rather than tender and soft, like Wagyu should be. Their Silver AYCE has a lot of options, but not so many that the experience felt like it was worth about $40/person. All of the beef was Wagyu, but it felt too chewy to really impress me, and their overall plate size was so small that it felt like I had to order every other minute rather than sit and enjoy my meal! read more

Pretty good! I came in for the meat and ended up stuffed. What impressed me the most was the sushi. The Silver tier gets you a good variety and they were all pretty good considering it's AYCE. My favorites were the Dragon Roll and Lion King. The Salmon Jalapeno and Truffle Tuna appetizers were also fantastic. Very refreshing and a great way to change things up when you need a breather from meat. As for meats, they were ok. I really liked the Plate cut and the Hange. Both were tender and the plate was definitely flavorful with ample fattiness. The Plate cut doesn't disappoint, so that would be my meat of choice. The bulgolgi was ok and so was the "Masasa". Service was nice! Everyone was friendly and they were quick to keep the table free of empty plates. In terms of food output, it was ok. Some of the items lagged maybe 2-3 rounds behind, but most came out quickly. As for other items to skip... I wouldn't reorder the the Salmon Lover, as the spicy salmon inside the roll wasn't really for me. I also didn't find the clay pot rice to be that special. I'd say if you want rice, you'd get more value with sushi instead. I'd even prefer plain rice. The clay pot rice didn't get crispy enough for my liking, which was the main point of interest for me. Soft opening for the newly renovated Wagyu Grill. It's pretty much Xian removing the steam tables and converting it all to grilling. Perhaps the steam pot concept was too innovative for this area as it seems like the yakiniku section always seemed to be more popular. It made sense to just change it all, and the changes welcome a more focused menu that makes them easier to better serve their customers. They got some nice cast iron grill plates that makes it so nice to get a great sear on their meats, and their selection of different sushi adds a nice pallete refresh when you get fatigued from too much yakiniku. All-in-all.. a change that will hopefully help them able to fulfill the demands of the ayce yakiniku market. read more

Since my daughter went back to NY, I and my wife wanted to scout some new restaurants, we went to Milpitas shopping center and saw this buffet, the prices seemed to be reasonable so we went in. This place used to be other buffets before, it's been changing many times, especially in a food center with all types of Asian restaurants. It's difficult to find a parking space in a huge parking lot on the weekend. We had to wait for a good 20 minutes to get a table for 2, quite crowded. There are a few tiers for dining, we chose the least expensive one for $36. The server was quite attentive and pleasant, the salad bar is plentiful with things we like. We can order from the menu 10 things at a time which is nice. The sushi appetizers are excellent. The beef looked fresh and tender only if you don't over cook them. We like the bulgogi very much. I have been to this location a few times now. There prices are reasonable for an AYCE. I do wish I can have more Japanese wagyu options and also would be night to have different side dishes to choose from. I also wish there was tofu as an option to eat as well. Also would be night to have a dessert option as well. The cooking process is nice and the surface is wow. I love the grill. For the service, I do wish the servers would be more active in engaging with the customer and checking on them more often. It is nice order thru your cell but human interaction is better. As for the ambience I would say you will have to speak a little more loud talking to the other people sitting with you. This place does play common Asian music. I do wish that they did some events in this building because every time I come the place does feel empty. So with some issues with everything I said I gave a 4 star instead or a 5 star. read more

Super cool place with a lot of different grills and bar options. on a Friday night I had to wait roughly an hour, but it was fine because there was a lot of things to do around the area while we waited for our text that the table is ready. You mostly order things through a QR code, which is really easy and accessible the meats and the sushi would come out after about five minutes, which gives you enough time to munch down on some of the snacks. The service was pretty fast and the servers were really attentive to what we needed with water and napkins, etc. my only complaint was that it does get pretty busy and hectic which can be overwhelming. It was my first time trying Wagyu Grill and I was truly impressed! My friends and I got the silver menu just to try it out and there are already plenty of options to choose from. My group had people that enjoyed meat and seafood and they provided options for the entire group. The highlights of my meal were the salmon lover roll, wagyu hanger meat, and wagyu top round. Reason is the upsell didn't carry the value for us, the sashimi was decent but the rolls and extra sushi didn't do it for us. Plus the meat selection was already decent enough. Got there right when they opened. The place is very clean with nice sight lines. It was empty but filled quickly enough. You need a cellphone to order. Then to reorder, hit the back arrow. Then you also have to self refresh every 3 minutes to reset the page and order again. You get up to 10 orders per table. The photos are larger than the products. If you like the product order more than one. Service is quick if the restaurant isn't busy. But as the tables began to fill, the order deliveries began to take more time. We took the entire 90 minutes. There is no traditional service per se. The food runners don't refill waters so it would be nice if they just left water jugs on the table. Our server was very nice. Gave us the run-down on what to do, where to go, and the low-down on his recommendations. The table salt is delicious and it is smoked! It goes great with the ponzu for wagyu meat dipping. And the cubes of butter are to grease the grill when meat starts sticking. The food comes out stacked. A multi level cart will be rolled table side, unstack the food on the top shelf so you can see what you have. Put the empties below so your table is clutter free. Great concept, poor execution. We've been to a nearly identical spot previously and LOVED that place so we had high expectations for this place since the concept and menu was identical with no association to each store. Upon walking in, we were greeted and waited for them to set up the tables before we were sat. We had indicated we wanted a booth and didn't mind a tight fit because we had two little ones with us. They declined and said we wouldn't fit. Upon asking again but this time letting them know that we're OK with a tight fit because we have two little ones, the host seemed irked and said "NO we cannot accommodate you there" in a rather snappy tone. Mind you, the booths on the right are a tad roomier than the ones on the left when you're looking into the restaurant. So that was off-putting from the get-go. However, an hour after we were seated, additional parties of (2) were being seated at the bigger booths but none were being seated to the right where they were able to accommodate them... so I didn't quite understand? If it's them wanting the guests to be comfortable and seated appropriately, sure. But I definitely didn't appreciate the snap back and lack of reason when we said we were OK with a tight fit. Our server, Sunny(?) was nice and had smiles on his face and did try his best. We had our grill changed a few times and granted, we had to flag him down a couple of times for drink refills but nothing bad on his part. A couple of orders were missed upon placing it and we waited about 15-20 minutes before placing another one, but the second order we placed came out within minutes so I'm not sure what had happened to the other one, even though it said received. I did love the online-ordering as it made things so much easier. Flavor of the udon was good, and I enjoyed the miso soup + consideration for kids' cup. Slices of meat were appropriate being that you're able to order 10 at a time but I didn't like the size of how they cut the kurobata sausages and it just looked a bit skimpy. I came here with friends on a Friday and had a really good time! There were 8 of us, so we all fit in the VIP room in the back, which was perfect! The service is excellent. You can order every 3 minutes, so food comes out very quickly, and you can order 10 items at once. A real pro move was ordering 3-4 portions of the same kind of meat, so you can cook a lot at once if you have a group of 3-4, since some portions are smaller than others. Most of the meat isn't seasoned like traditional bbq, but they have a really good sauce bar, and you can order random things like garlic and butter. They have good sushi offerings as well - especially the fried California roll. Definitely recommend the premium, just because you can get so many more things, especially given then 90 minute time limit. Other than that, a really good restaurant that everyone should check out.
