It possibly is the best bang for your buck in terms of AYCE KBBQ. I do like the selections of meat available in addition to the kimchi. I left beyond full and sleepy. That's what lots of grilled meat can do to you. I also do appreciate that the stools store things in it.

Really good food, fast service, and friendly staff. They have a great selection of meats and lots of different sides and appetizers. The place can get pretty loud, and you'll definitely smell like BBQ after you leave:) But I don't really see those as reasons to take off a star since it's not supposed to be a premium or fancy dining experience. Overall, it's become one of our favorite spots to go with friends. Definitely recommend!

The parking is not too bad but the wait is, it's well worth it though. This is by far one of the best, if not THE BEST all you can eat kbbq place in san jose. They have so many good options and I always love their beef brisket. They have so many yummy sides as options too and I love their tofu side dish

Went here with my buddies the other night. Call ahead and make reservations! This place gets super busy, even on a weekday! Loved it, my friends loved it! Pretty darn close to a genuine AYCE Korean BBQ you would see in LA/ K-Town! From the Bay to Sac, I have yet to find a spot like this one. Shoot, all they were missing was that cheesy corn thingy! Speaking of which, Im gonna make some for breakfast hahha. The price was a bit high, imo. I don't remember KBBQ being so pricey, again, maybe it's because I'm just old now, lol. Then again, because I'm old, everything seems expensive to me. Not only expensive, everyone there seemed so young. So, in conclusion for this review, if you are rich, young and hungry...this is your spot! Haha I will be going back, though, for sure! I want to take my wife and 3 little kiddos! My oldest, 8 year old, will love it! He loves Korean food (duh, we're Korean) and he loves steak! So get ready, yakiniq SJ/ actually, we'llgo to the one in Livermore (closer)! My 3 little terrors are gonna crash your spot!! Lol Good times! We definitely ate a lot. We'll, my two buddies did! Psst!! Dear, restaurant people, we should open up one of these near the Sac area!

Service was 10/10! Staff would check in with us and switch grills quickly. Everyone was super professional and helpful. Food was good especially for an unlimited menu as well! Pricing wasn't too out of line either for AYCE. The banchan were also really good! Love the store interior. It was bustling but not too loud where you had to be yelling. Wait time wasn't long at all, even though the store was packed.

I was super intrigued by this place due to the super long waitlist and the many reviews! I added my name to the waitlist via Yelp and it said we have to wait ~2 hours so we just hung out around Valley Fair until it was our time. When we got to the place, I thought it was going to be super packed, but the parking lot was easy to find parking, and I guess, just like us, everyone waited elsewhere. We were seated immediately and decided to go with the regular plan which was $36/person. Quite reasonable nowadays for KBBQ. To order the food, there is a QR Code that you scan and order from there. I quite liked it because it was efficient! The sides were already set on our table before we sat down. They were all average. I think my bf and I only ate the kimchi mostly. For the meats, we got many items, including Brisket, Short Ribs, Bulgogi, Beef Belly, and we both got one of each Premium cut of Fresh Short Rib and Boneless Prime Short Rib. The best items were the premium cut ones for sure! They were perfect cuts to grill! For the regular menu items, I enjoyed the brisket the and short ribs the most. The bulgogi marinade was okay to me. The meats overall, were also average to me. Service-wise, I felt like they were pretty attentive with changing out the grills so I appreciate that. I also appreciated that the hoods we were under actually pulled the smoke and smell a lot better than other places. After eating all your food, they also offer a small scoop of ice cream which I really appreciated. Overall, good place for the money, if you are super hungry or want to enjoy KBBQ experience without breaking the bank.

I've been here many times but haven't had the chance to review. It's definitely my top 3 kbbq in the bay for its price and quality! My friends and I came in around 2pm on a Sunday and there was already a waitlist, but we got a table right away. We got the regular menu $35/person. Meats were great, and they had a variety of banchan. Service was quick. I would only point out that their marinated short rib was more on the sweet side, a bit too sweet. I also got the seafood tofu soup and it was very hearty--would recommend. Ambiance here is nice, and it's always lively and crowded. I always recommend people to come here to try kbbq and of course, I'll be back.

First time here in this location other than SF! Place definitely is smaller and has less seating. Waited about 1.5hr on a Sunday but glad they have a waitlist link to see our place in line! I did like the table and seat set up though! Service was very kind, super quick, and welcoming. I forgot to ask their names but pretty much everyone was nice. Got the regular option, plenty of variety to choose from. Endless sauces, soups, and sides. We enjoyed the steak most. Something though, the beef brisket was kind of bland. I feel like YakiniQ in SF has more flavorful beef brisket. But both still good!

yakiniq never disappoints!! i've been here multiple times throughout the years, and the quality, service, and pricing is always worth it. line gets long on the weekend but you can join online, and they are able to do big groups even though the place is not too big. for the menu, i think the premium is worth it for $4 more. the wagyu beef belly was our favorite and special items boneless prime short rib. there were a lot of sides as well!

Service is fast and attentive. We didn't really wait long for any dishes. I've been here many times, and usually the wait time can get pretty long (1 hour+) but for a Friday around 4 PM we didn't wait at all. We joined the waitlist 20 minutes before so we got there and got seated immediately. One thing I really like about this place are the serving sizes especially for the banchan dishes. They have some sauces and utensils ready in the side if needed. Noise level is usually loud if it's busy. Definitely would recommend this place for the price and service. The meat is decent and you get a scoop of ice cream at the end.

    Anny O.

Great AYCE spot! All the meats were good. Probably one of the best spots for ayce kbbq. There are a lot of options to choose from and some things are limited to one per person. Lots of side options too. Only complaint is the small tables. It was hard to eat when the table is filled with sides and meats. Good service though.

    Rick S.

At one point, they were hands down the best ayce kbbq in San Jose. Then the quality and service lacked for for a couple years. Now seems like they are under new ownership and everything is back on track. The meat and portions were the perfect amount, the service fast and friendly and also have a newer, faster, busier atmosphere. Can't wait to go back to give it a higher rating, to check for their consistency l.

Ask the Community - yakiniQ SJ

Do they take reservations for parties of 9+?

You have to join a waiting list. But you still need to come early to check in. And then there's another wait for a table.

Can you order half portions of meats? We are going as a couple and would like to try as many types of meat as possible.

No you cannot, but the meat portions are not too big for 2 people to try most of them!

    Are you guys still open?

    Yes, YakiniQ is still open.

Do you accept reservations for less than 10 people?

No they dont, they do have a waitlist system that you can use via Yelp for a table of a certain party

Are there plates that we can order that we don't have to cook ourself?

The closest you'll get are the sides. Everything else you need to cook. The steamed egg and stews are amazing with rice though.

Do you have private parking at the premise?

No. Yakiniq shares parking with a laundromat, pharmacy, and a money remittance service.

    Are you open on Tuesday?

    No not open on Tuesdays.

Is it all you can eat or i have to pay for each meat i called out?

    All you can eat.

    Do they do outdoor dining?

    No outdoor dining

Are they doing dine-in seating yet?

    Yes

    Are they open for dine-in?

    Yes

Are you open for dine in?

    Yes

Do you guy open for dine in right now?

    Yes

Is this place open for indoor dining?

    Yes

    What's kid's price?

Hello. The kid from 4 to 9 years old price $11.99

    Any discount for a birthday?

No. I do not believe so.

Does anyone know if they have an allergen list as I am allergic to Gluten? I would love to eat here but I have to be extremely careful about cross-contamination.

I don't believe they have a allergen list here. You can def request before coming in. I recommend calling them right as they open and prepare a list for you 24 hrs ahead of time.

Immediately impressed by the other clientele when we arrived. There was a crowd outside waiting to order, and when we were pondering the menu outside and telling another customer it was our first time there, he explained what his favorites were and we really appreciated that! My partner and I were craving brisket so we both ordered the same thing! Now usually we get two different things to share when we dine out, but we both didn't want to give up our brisket cravings, so alas - two LARGE orders of brisket were what we got! The brisket was delicious and tender. The end piece was too salty though, but the rest of it was tasty and had just the right amount of fat. There were about 6 small slices of brisket in the LARGE portion ($27.50) and it included 2 sides and a slice of bread. We got mac & cheese (yum), coleslaw (unique in that it didn't have much liquid but it was good!) and potato salad (also delicious!) to try. The cashier was pleasant, but otherwise there wasn't any extra service provided. We had to get our own utensils and napkins, and we had to pick up our own food when it was ready after our name was called, and we also had to get our own takeout containers and bus our own tables when we were finished! Food pricing was on the higher side. So tipping generously on a high priced meal seemed to be a little much for what we got, just sayin'! At least the food was prepared quickly. There was lots of seating both indoors and outdoors, and a full bar with a lot of draft beers and TVs - a good place to watch those sport games!

But they have about 4 others that I haven't been but are on my list. I guess now I'll know they are more the same than they are different. I knew walking in that I was going to like it. A strong aroma of wood smoke hugs you upon entering. A cool mural outside, lots of beers and bbq on the tables, cool tunes that was all over the place genre wise. 2 Meat Combo ($26/4.5*) Crazy solid combo. Not as juicy as I would prefer but between the perfect smoke content and their seasoning just makes me happy enough. Brisket: Their brisket is awesome. Not as juicy as some of the top notch places here in the Bay, but the flavor was perfect for me. Assertive smokiness without being overbearing. Get a piece with a good layer of fat and it was basically hearty beef bacon. I rarely put sauce on brisket but theirs is not bad, maybe just a dot or 2. Ribs: Also drier than what I like but the flavor and meaty texture was enough for me. Definitely have to pull these off the bone a bit, does not easily fall off, which I actually prefer. I like toothsome versus mushy meat. These ribs do have a layer of bbq sauce cooked into them, so it has a sweet and tangy flavor already in it. But they still can accept extra sauce, as it will not only moisten the ribs further but it will amp up the tang and sweetness that pork ribs are natural for. Tried 2 sides, beans and coleslaw. The beans aren't the super sweet kind, which I liked. More chili-like very hearty and complimenting to the smoky bbq. The slaw was perfect, crisp with a creamy yet slightly sweet dressing. Crazy good, I could actually eat their sides alone as a meal. Their corn bread here is strange. It is cooked in a sheetpan and cut into squares much like a brownie. But that square is then griddled til golden brown so I totally thought it was garlic bread at first. The other bbq spots I tried from this same company didn't make corn bread like that, so this was a first for me. Probably the only miss for me here. Also tried a half pound of Tri Tip ($20/4*) Very meaty that they were able to keep it a nice pink medium, which I like. But much milder in smoke than their brisket and ribs. I ended up making sandwiches with these at home. They are sliced pretty thick so you may have to slice some of them further. It bites easier in thinner slices versus monster thick slices that will pull out of the bread with each bite. I learned that on this out so just throwing out a tip. A solid bbq throwdown with a cold frosty one, plus lots of leftovers for work lunches the next few days, is just an out I can repeat over and over. Glad I found this spot!

Great place to come with friends to drink and eat good food!…read more Yes, its a bit pricier than normal skewer places, but i love the ambiance and vibe in here! super cyber-punky and sometimes they have live singers here! You cant really find a skewer place with this type of vibe, def a spot i like to take my out of town friends to for a good time I love getting the fried tofu skins, this is my favorite skewer to get. I actually prefer the regular skewers than the mini skewers just because the mini is so small you have to really bite into the metal stick (which can stab your mouth if your not careful, especially if you end up drinking too much) razor clams are bomb here! Yes they add hella chillies in here so you have to pick it out, but its hard to find places with a razor clam dish that is super tasty and flavorful The alcoholic drinks here are super unique and interesting, my method is to go for the cutest branding, and just order it, and suprisingly it ends up working in my favor LOL my favorite part, is the seasoning they use on all the skewers! that classic chinese taste :D

Been to Discovery Fusion so many times for late night bites, it never disappoints! I've noticed…read morethat depending on the day, the later you come, the louder it gets as they have live karaoke here. This place has such fun decorations and I love all the neon lights here as it's very well lit up inside. My top 3 favorite skewers are the beef, enoki, and a-choy. They're all coated with the same seasonings here so it's easy to get tired of so I always order a few of the grilled vermicelli oysters which are so tasty, and I love all the garlic it comes with! Some other good skewers are the chicken skin, pork belly, and corn. Love the drinks here too, most recently noticed they added an alcoholic blind box to the menu and it was so exciting to try 12 different mystery shots. Even though I did not enjoy half of the drinks, this is probably the most fun drinking concept I've seen at a restaurant and I'd absolutely order it again. The ambiance, customer service, and food are always all great - I'll never say no to dinner a Discovery!
