Went here with my buddies the other night. Call ahead and make reservations! This place gets super busy, even on a weekday! Loved it, my friends loved it! Pretty darn close to a genuine AYCE Korean BBQ you would see in LA/ K-Town! From the Bay to Sac, I have yet to find a spot like this one. Shoot, all they were missing was that cheesy corn thingy! Speaking of which, Im gonna make some for breakfast hahha. The price was a bit high, imo. I don't remember KBBQ being so pricey, again, maybe it's because I'm just old now, lol. Then again, because I'm old, everything seems expensive to me. Not only expensive, everyone there seemed so young. So, in conclusion for this review, if you are rich, young and hungry...this is your spot! Haha I will be going back, though, for sure! I want to take my wife and 3 little kiddos! My oldest, 8 year old, will love it! He loves Korean food (duh, we're Korean) and he loves steak! So get ready, yakiniq SJ/ actually, we'llgo to the one in Livermore (closer)! My 3 little terrors are gonna crash your spot!! Lol Good times! We definitely ate a lot. We'll, my two buddies did! Psst!! Dear, restaurant people, we should open up one of these near the Sac area!

yakiniq never disappoints!! i've been here multiple times throughout the years, and the quality, service, and pricing is always worth it. line gets long on the weekend but you can join online, and they are able to do big groups even though the place is not too big. for the menu, i think the premium is worth it for $4 more. the wagyu beef belly was our favorite and special items boneless prime short rib. there were a lot of sides as well!

I was super intrigued by this place due to the super long waitlist and the many reviews! I added my name to the waitlist via Yelp and it said we have to wait ~2 hours so we just hung out around Valley Fair until it was our time. When we got to the place, I thought it was going to be super packed, but the parking lot was easy to find parking, and I guess, just like us, everyone waited elsewhere. We were seated immediately and decided to go with the regular plan which was $36/person. Quite reasonable nowadays for KBBQ. To order the food, there is a QR Code that you scan and order from there. I quite liked it because it was efficient! The sides were already set on our table before we sat down. They were all average. I think my bf and I only ate the kimchi mostly. For the meats, we got many items, including Brisket, Short Ribs, Bulgogi, Beef Belly, and we both got one of each Premium cut of Fresh Short Rib and Boneless Prime Short Rib. The best items were the premium cut ones for sure! They were perfect cuts to grill! For the regular menu items, I enjoyed the brisket the and short ribs the most. The bulgogi marinade was okay to me. The meats overall, were also average to me. Service-wise, I felt like they were pretty attentive with changing out the grills so I appreciate that. I also appreciated that the hoods we were under actually pulled the smoke and smell a lot better than other places. After eating all your food, they also offer a small scoop of ice cream which I really appreciated. Overall, good place for the money, if you are super hungry or want to enjoy KBBQ experience without breaking the bank.

Service was 10/10! Staff would check in with us and switch grills quickly. Everyone was super professional and helpful. Food was good especially for an unlimited menu as well! Pricing wasn't too out of line either for AYCE. The banchan were also really good! Love the store interior. It was bustling but not too loud where you had to be yelling. Wait time wasn't long at all, even though the store was packed.

I've been here many times but haven't had the chance to review. It's definitely my top 3 kbbq in the bay for its price and quality! My friends and I came in around 2pm on a Sunday and there was already a waitlist, but we got a table right away. We got the regular menu $35/person. Meats were great, and they had a variety of banchan. Service was quick. I would only point out that their marinated short rib was more on the sweet side, a bit too sweet. I also got the seafood tofu soup and it was very hearty--would recommend. Ambiance here is nice, and it's always lively and crowded. I always recommend people to come here to try kbbq and of course, I'll be back.

First time here in this location other than SF! Place definitely is smaller and has less seating. Waited about 1.5hr on a Sunday but glad they have a waitlist link to see our place in line! I did like the table and seat set up though! Service was very kind, super quick, and welcoming. I forgot to ask their names but pretty much everyone was nice. Got the regular option, plenty of variety to choose from. Endless sauces, soups, and sides. We enjoyed the steak most. Something though, the beef brisket was kind of bland. I feel like YakiniQ in SF has more flavorful beef brisket. But both still good!

Service is fast and attentive. We didn't really wait long for any dishes. I've been here many times, and usually the wait time can get pretty long (1 hour+) but for a Friday around 4 PM we didn't wait at all. We joined the waitlist 20 minutes before so we got there and got seated immediately. One thing I really like about this place are the serving sizes especially for the banchan dishes. They have some sauces and utensils ready in the side if needed. Noise level is usually loud if it's busy. Definitely would recommend this place for the price and service. The meat is decent and you get a scoop of ice cream at the end.

This review is honestly not about the food, but the service. I have been a loyal customer here for years and I love their food but today I was unhappy with the host. We were told to come check in between 7-7:20 for a party of 7. We came and checked in, waited for 30 min before asking the host how much longer the wait was going to be and they said 2 hours (what???). They only have 2 big tables and they close at 10 so we were most likely not even going to get seated. The host didn't think about that to let us know when we checked in? Because of that we had to struggle to find a different place to have dinner at because by the time we found out it was already 8 pm and a lot of other places were closing soon. Don't get me wrong, I still think the food here is fantastic. I am just unhappy that the host wasn't well trained enough to inform me about the long wait.

Great AYCE spot! All the meats were good. Probably one of the best spots for ayce kbbq. There are a lot of options to choose from and some things are limited to one per person. Lots of side options too. Only complaint is the small tables. It was hard to eat when the table is filled with sides and meats. Good service though.

A different AYCE KBBQ experience! Let me just say that you get your premium meats for premium plan and regular which is nice because price can vary depending what you and your group choose. There were 6 people in the group and we were seated at a round short table which I thought was giving Asian family style round table vibes. Did it fit all of our banchan and meats? Heck no! Lol we had to ask one of waiters to leave an extra table on the side to fit ALL of what we got. Service was busy and we did have to be a bit attention seekers for our waiter to notice that we wanted more meat or to take some plates away to preserve space. However, we did go on a Saturday evening for dinner. Yakini Q, you are a QT for the round tables and fun vibes!

Year over year this continues to be my favorite and go to spot. And as of late they've been killing it! Service has been the best it's ever been, and the quality of the meat has also been really exceptional, overall they've been really consistently great this year. We really appreciate all the staff here and have noticed from our visits the ppl who have the most issues don't understand the concept or are there during extremely busy times. I know exactly what to expect when I come here and I come here specifically to eat here, it's the overall ambiance! Like when u want in n out you don't just want burgers you want in n out. My #1 spot for AYCE KBBQ in Bay Area! Great meat quality, have a variety of options to choose from fresh to marinated cut, delicious banchan and side dishes, also extremely quick and attentive service. Can get extremely busy on the weekend, the wait could be up to 2-3 hours but worth it, i'm always bring friends who love KBBQ to yakiniQ for the best experience.

I've been to my fair share of KBBQ restaurants around the Bay, but YakiniQ has to be the best, hands down. My go-to spot for the perfect mix of value and quality. They have a huge selection of meats: all fresh, well-marbled, and lightly seasoned so you can actually taste the quality. My personal favorites are the short ribs, brisket, and finger ribs, all consistently tender, flavorful, and perfectly cut for grilling. One of my favorite parts about dining here is the banchan and sides. Everything tastes super fresh, and you can even order a variety of stews during or after your meal: each one packed with flavor and so comforting. Don't skip the lettuce wraps or rice paper either, they're perfect for balancing out the richness of the meats. Service here has always been consistently solid, even when the restaurant is packed (which is basically every night). The QR code ordering system is super convenient, you can order more meat, sides, grill changes, or even water without having to flag anyone down. The staff are friendly, quick, and attentive. Bonus: the stools have hidden storage underneath for your bags, which is a small but really thoughtful touch. Parking can be a little tricky since the lot is small and it gets busy fast. The wait times can be LONGGG (sometimes 2-3 hours for dinner), so definitely hop on the Yelp Waitlist as early as you can to save yourself the headache. For around $36-$40 per person, the amount and quality of food you get here is unbeatable. Highly recommend!!

Ask the Community - yakiniQ SJ

Do they take reservations for parties of 9+?

You have to join a waiting list. But you still need to come early to check in. And then there's another wait for a table.

Can you order half portions of meats? We are going as a couple and would like to try as many types of meat as possible.

No you cannot, but the meat portions are not too big for 2 people to try most of them!

    Are you guys still open?

    Yes, YakiniQ is still open.

Do you accept reservations for less than 10 people?

No they dont, they do have a waitlist system that you can use via Yelp for a table of a certain party

Are there plates that we can order that we don't have to cook ourself?

The closest you'll get are the sides. Everything else you need to cook. The steamed egg and stews are amazing with rice though.

Do you have private parking at the premise?

No. Yakiniq shares parking with a laundromat, pharmacy, and a money remittance service.

    Are you open on Tuesday?

    No not open on Tuesdays.

Is it all you can eat or i have to pay for each meat i called out?

    All you can eat.

    Do they do outdoor dining?

    No outdoor dining

Are they doing dine-in seating yet?

    Yes

    Are they open for dine-in?

    Yes

Do you guy open for dine in right now?

    What's kid's price?

Hello. The kid from 4 to 9 years old price $11.99

    Any discount for a birthday?

No. I do not believe so.

Does anyone know if they have an allergen list as I am allergic to Gluten? I would love to eat here but I have to be extremely careful about cross-contamination.

I don't believe they have a allergen list here. You can def request before coming in. I recommend calling them right as they open and prepare a list for you 24 hrs ahead of time.

The location that we went to is located next to Maggiano's Little Italy in Santana Row on Olin Ave. There is a free 2 hour parking structure across of the restaurant where my boyfriend and I parked at. We came during their Lunch Specials (until 4pm) and Happy Hour (from 3-5:30pm) which worked perfectly as we wanted something smaller in portion compared to the dinner portions. We started off with drinks. I got their Pig Ol' Bitties Blonde Ale, and my boyfriend got their Friday Beer & Shot special of This Little Piggy Went to [Mark]et with a 16 oz Dirty Little Pig IPA and a shot of Benchmark whiskey. My fault for having him get a whiskey shot on an empty stomach, though HAHA. He did like how smooth the whiskey was at least! We shared a 2-meat BBQ Lunch Combo Plate, and honestly, we should have gotten 3 meats because of how tender and delicious everything was! We got their Tri Tip and Sliced Brisket with their Garlic Mash and server recommended Sweet Potato Tots. Ahhh, everything was so good! Aside from the tender, flavorful meats, the two sides, especially the garlic mash, were sooooo good. We both loved everything! It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!

I've been to 3 others Redwood City BBQ, South Winchester BBQ (San Jose), and Canyon's BBQ (Castro Valley) and I've reviewed most of those quite favorably, except for 1. But they have about 4 others that I haven't been but are on my list. I guess now I'll know they are more the same than they are different. I knew walking in that I was going to like it. A strong aroma of wood smoke hugs you upon entering. A cool mural outside, lots of beers and bbq on the tables, cool tunes that was all over the place genre wise. 2 Meat Combo ($26/4.5*) Crazy solid combo. Not as juicy as I would prefer but between the perfect smoke content and their seasoning just makes me happy enough. Brisket: Their brisket is awesome. Not as juicy as some of the top notch places here in the Bay, but the flavor was perfect for me. Assertive smokiness without being overbearing. Get a piece with a good layer of fat and it was basically hearty beef bacon. I rarely put sauce on brisket but theirs is not bad, maybe just a dot or 2. Ribs: Also drier than what I like but the flavor and meaty texture was enough for me. Definitely have to pull these off the bone a bit, does not easily fall off, which I actually prefer. I like toothsome versus mushy meat. These ribs do have a layer of bbq sauce cooked into them, so it has a sweet and tangy flavor already in it. But they still can accept extra sauce, as it will not only moisten the ribs further but it will amp up the tang and sweetness that pork ribs are natural for. Tried 2 sides, beans and coleslaw. The beans aren't the super sweet kind, which I liked. More chili-like very hearty and complimenting to the smoky bbq. The slaw was perfect, crisp with a creamy yet slightly sweet dressing. Crazy good, I could actually eat their sides alone as a meal. Their corn bread here is strange. It is cooked in a sheetpan and cut into squares much like a brownie. But that square is then griddled til golden brown so I totally thought it was garlic bread at first. The other bbq spots I tried from this same company didn't make corn bread like that, so this was a first for me. Probably the only miss for me here. Also tried a half pound of Tri Tip ($20/4*) Very meaty that they were able to keep it a nice pink medium, which I like. But much milder in smoke than their brisket and ribs. I ended up making sandwiches with these at home. They are sliced pretty thick so you may have to slice some of them further. It bites easier in thinner slices versus monster thick slices that will pull out of the bread with each bite. I learned that on this out so just throwing out a tip. A solid bbq throwdown with a cold frosty one, plus lots of leftovers for work lunches the next few days, is just an out I can repeat over and over. Glad I found this spot!

Yes they add hella chillies in here so you have to pick it out, but its hard to find places with a razor clam dish that is super tasty and flavorful The alcoholic drinks here are super unique and interesting, my method is to go for the cutest branding, and just order it, and suprisingly it ends up working in my favor LOL my favorite part, is the seasoning they use on all the skewers! that classic chinese taste :D

Been to Discovery Fusion so many times for late night bites, it never disappoints! I've noticed…read morethat depending on the day, the later you come, the louder it gets as they have live karaoke here. This place has such fun decorations and I love all the neon lights here as it's very well lit up inside. My top 3 favorite skewers are the beef, enoki, and a-choy. They're all coated with the same seasonings here so it's easy to get tired of so I always order a few of the grilled vermicelli oysters which are so tasty, and I love all the garlic it comes with! Some other good skewers are the chicken skin, pork belly, and corn. Love the drinks here too, most recently noticed they added an alcoholic blind box to the menu and it was so exciting to try 12 different mystery shots. Even though I did not enjoy half of the drinks, this is probably the most fun drinking concept I've seen at a restaurant and I'd absolutely order it again. The ambiance, customer service, and food are always all great - I'll never say no to dinner a Discovery!

The whole waiting in line was a hard concept for me to abide by. I think it was when I went when it was opening and they forgot to put the ticket numbers out. I usually have someone who frequents there get us a table. There's no host to get a table. Some concept written on the pillar. It is very expensive but it is a steakhouse. I would get the ribeye and it's cooked to perfection. Sometimes I get the ribs but I like ribeye steak. The side dishes are good and appetizers are delicious. I really love the baked potato and salad. Oh my goodness, salad were fresh. I love my baked garlic bread with the tomato sauce. They gave a back yard which is great for an amazing Californian weather. The kids love the tomato sauce with the bread so that's a hit with the picky eaters in our group. I would go here if your group likes meat or from out of town.

Updating my review to add commentary about the catering for a party…read more It was an absolute crowd pleaser! I ordered ribs, brisket, chicken, potato salad, beans, Cole slaw, garden salad, and garlic bread. The favorite was the brisket but they truly loved every bit of it. Very impressed with the packaging and presentation. They were packing it up as I arrived and everything was hot and fresh. The staff were delightful and even helped load everything into my car. The portions were very generous and I felt a good value for the money. We were all very full and happy. Received many comments about how good it was. I will tell anyone looking to cater or serve a crowd to order BBQ Pit. I ordered using their website and it was incredibly easy to do, and appreciated the email confirmations and follow-up.

They also carry cans as well that are not listed and you can just grab it from the fridge and pay at the register. There is a good amount of seating inside and there are a few tables outside as well. I ordered my stout and i let it sit as the foam settled and realized that the pour did not fill up the glass. I let the staff know and they fixed the issue by topping off my drink. The staff are very friendly and understanding. During my first visit, we ordered the ribs and brisket as well as a tri tip salad. The brisket was very tender and juicy. I usually avoid ordering briskets since most BBQ places in San Jose that I've been to have made them very dry. There was only one piece that wasn't juicy which I expected since it had no fat on it. It was still tender and not dried out. The ribs were also good. It was tender and didn't stick to the bone as much but it wasn't as tender where it just slides off the bone. The seasoning on the ribs was neutral and the BBQ Pit have their own special bbq sauce (regular and spicy) which goes well with the meat. My wife ordered the tri tip salad and she enjoyed it. I stole some of her greens to balance the meat and beer and the veggies were fresh. The salad came with cornbread but I didn't try it. On my second visit, I decided to get the tri tip woith a side of baked potato and coleslaw. The baked potato was $3 extra. The tri tip had really good flavor and texture. It ripped apart easily when pulling. The coleslaw was ok. I might get the mac and cheese or beans next time. My wife ate the baked potato and ate most of it. I tried a little bit where it was just the potato and it was not overcooked and not too undercooked. It was easy to scoop with the fork without too much effort. If you are in the area and craving for BBQ, I highly recommend trying this place. The portion is not as big as BBQ joints in Texas or KC but they are on par with the ones around San Jose. The pricing is decent and like I mentioned, is also on par to San Jose pricing. If you have a big group, there are plenty of tables to accommodate folks. The location is close to the highway so that's a plus. The staff is very helpful and will give you a good recommendation if you are debating on what to order.

The service was super friendly and accommodating, like talking to family. There were so many good options and the prices were affordable! Especially, for Caribbean food. My partner kept telling me how good of a find this place was and I felt accomplished, LOL! We got excited because this is probably one of our favorite cuisines. We ordered the goat curry, mac and cheese, mixed veggies, collard greens, vegetable curry, beef patty, and two orders of fried cornmeal bread... all for a family of 3 (the 3rd human being a 14 month old hahaha). I thought I can give the baby the vegetable curry, but it turned out to be too spicy so hence why we got the mac and cheese and plain mixed veggies. Everything was fire! Maybe with the exception of the collard greens because that tasted like it was cooked in tabasco or something. Their juices were good too! Portions are generous. Luckily, we had leftovers to enjoy the next day. The beef patty was yummy, but I do wish it came with some type of dipping sauce. All the dishes tasted authentic, I felt like I was back in Jamaica. Everything comes in to-go containers which is convenient. They provide paper plates if you want to dine there. The restaurant is maintained well and clean. I hope they expand across East Bay area as it seems many of their locations are mainly in South Bay/Peninsula.

The combo plates are worth it, with their rice and plantains! They are mouth watering good. The service here was quick, although I did take out.
