Then, once we got to the restaurant, the person working the registers and answering phones said that they had no memory of the call and said we may have called the wrong location. THIS location is awful but the one on El Toro is much better managed and organized. I have a family of six and we all ordered dinner last week. They had a new kid on the register who CLEARLY wasn't trained. I kinda laughed because after each person in our family ordered, he would say. "Okay, is that all?" even though he could see the other four of us waiting to order. I know he was new (he had a hand written name badge) and nervous and just wasn't trained well so I won't name him, of course. Well, our order was completely messed up and most of my family had theirs wrong. I don't eat dairy and they completely messed that up and I didn't even get a dinner that night. Ugh. So, I called the manager who was nice enough to offer to "re-do" the entire order. I went in a few days later and Sergio, the manager on duty, took my order (or rather COPIED the previous sales receipt) and that took him about 15-20 minutes because WHILE taking my order, he kept stopping to answer the phone and take orders, not just put them on hold. He should've known he missed one meal completely because the total was ten dollars less than the one the week before. It took so long that my husband called to check to see if I had gone elsewhere rather than straight home because I was gone an hour, just for pick up. The worst part of this whole thing is that they either grabbed someone else's order or completely bumbled it again because I got home and did NOT have what I ordered and my husband didn't have what he ordered either. Total bummer! I hate to say it but this guy needs some training and I don't even see this place staying open at this rate. How can a manager who can't take an order right train others to do so? It's ridiculous that they have to answer the phone while taking orders on the register! They should have someone who just does phone orders. Furthermore, they're wearing gloves but then touching money and then touching everything else like trays, chip baskets, etc. So yourself a favor and head to the Wahoo's on El Toro because they seem to have better training and actually get the order(s) right. read more

Moving it up a star because I had their shrimp burrito and was reminded how good it is. Still not a fan of their guacamole but their service is awesome! Always coming around asking if we need anything...and of course we always need more salsa. :) Tip: Add salt, extra lime and extra salsa to rice. Yummmm. read more

It's all built into the cost , so we decided 30 years ago to charge less for the food and not fill our customers up with too many carbs and use better ingredients . I will be happy to send you a gift card for some free chips , but please be aware that we choose to only charge our customer for what they eat . I do enjoy "free garlic bread or chips & salsa " when I go out , but I do know that I'm paying for it somehow Wing Lam Co-Founder" So I respond: "Wing: nobody said "free" food here! You're supposed to get what you pay for, right??? So I expected a full basket of chips not 1/3.. for what I paid for. I specifically chose this location due to the friendliness & accommodating staff along with the surrounding stores which include a coffee shop, boba tea shop and a Creamistry ice cream. I will be the first to admit that I've never been a Wahoo's Fish Taco fan. I've been to numerous ones, and although I'm not a huge fan, I don't dislike it either. To me you'll get a decent meal (usually) and i doubt you'll go away dissatisfied. I do think their food is ok, the portions I feel are a bit small for the price and the fact you can get a little bigger portions at a dozen other places for the same price, and often times better tasting and more options. The carne asada is decent, nothing too special, but it's good, just not enough. The fish taco's are a little bigger portion than the carne asada, and also not too bad. The beans and rice for some reason have been cold 99% of the time that I go. I don't know why this is, but that's been my experience. I'm not a fan of their beans and rice, I just personally don't like the taste of either. This location was the same experience, my beans and rice were cold, although I have to admit, I was definitely expecting it. My wife got the Paleo salad and she thought it was pretty good, it had some kind of cilantro dressing that she said was very good as well. The other small issue I had there, was something both my wife and I and the couple we were with thought was kind of annoying, they had something beeping constantly the whole time we were eating, I'm not sure if it was the alarm on the fryer letting them know that whatever was cooking was now done, but it was just constant and seriously driving us crazy..yeah maybe we are just weird, but it was louder than the music they had playing. Wahoo's is still not high on my list, but also not a place I refuse to go if someone else wants to go. Maybe someday I'll actually try something that actually wows me, and who knows, maybe one day I'll even get hot beans and rice!! Oh and yes, I've actually asked them the last few times to make sure they were hot, and I guess the message never got through to whoever made up my plate. I am a fan of Wahoo's since it's something unique to California. This location is close to my work so you can't go wrong. It's a horrible parking lot though so come off lunch time peak hours, just fyi. Weekends are not as bad since the businesses nearby are closed. They have changed up their menu since I haven't gone recently but it was great. I got the wahoo salad with spicy fish and it was very tasty. I saw quite a few other items I would like to try so I will be back. Healthy and fresh. Great outdoor patio as well. read more

I just love wahoos, it's one of our go to spots. It's consistently delicious and satisfying and my entire family can eat here and be happy! I especially love this location. Parking is typically not an issue, the staff are always friendly and the restaurant and patio are always clean. I really love the patio and that's typically where we sit. Everything on the menu is delicious. My husband loves the Maui bowl, but my go tos are the citrus slaw tacos (or anything with citrus slaw) or the paleo bowl (extra citrus slaw). I'm bummed they don't have the paleo salad anymore - Bring it back!!! I also really appreciate that my kids can eat all the meats, beans, rice, veggies (everything on the menu really) as nothing is "too spicy" for them (this has been an issue at other spots). I'm blanking on the staff members name who was helping us tonight, but he was very generous and kind. Bummed I can't remember his name. He brought out our food and additional requests, cleared the table as we went and did it all with a very kind attitude and a smile. Great healthier alternative for those of us who enjoy Mexican food! Quick, easy, cheap Mexican food but it is still always FRESH and tastes like it's made with quality ingredients. The price is also very comparable to El Pollo Loco which is like the fast food of Mexican food. However, you can be much healthier here. I usually order the #1 combo which comes with an enchilada, beans, and rice. It's very filling and I LOVE their black beans and rice. Delicious! It's also only 5 bucks and however many cents which is such a DEAL! I think I've spent more at McDonald's o.O Service has always been pretty superb for a fast food kind of place. Much better than the service you'd receive at Panera which has a similar serving concept with you ordering at the counter and them delivering food to the table. Plenty of seating to choose from and the tables are clean. Food comes out quickly and they bring you the utensils and napkins with it. The workers that I've had contact with during my visits have always been friendly. If you have leftovers, they have the boxes next to the drinks so you just grab it and box your food yourself! Cleanliness-4/5 salt covered the bench, easily seen, easily cleaned, totally ignored. The table top seemed clean, cleaner than most. Due to it being salt, I've increased to from 3.5. The entire restaurant seemed clean, from everything visible! With so many having the flu, this is IMPORTANT! Tables/Seating-3/5, possibly a 2.5/5. The tables rock, causing several spills! A few times startled my Mom (NoT cool)!! Time for some repairs, so obvious, I have to lower my scores! Service-3/5, starting with ordering. Gent made us feel rushed, even tho no one was behind us. Order took a long while, it was practically empty (before 6 PM), some food was very microwaved hot, some too cool:(. Food-3.5/5, I just cannot give them a 4. Two of the dishes were cool and the child's was microwave (unevenly) hot! Meaning he burned himself!!!! Taste, everything was good! The table "server" (no wait staff), was so kind to say goodbye to all, he forgot my Moms fork, she had to ask twice (she's a very patient woman). Why I like Wahoo's Fish Taco: Good food: their chicken enchilada's are seriously the BOMB. Add the Wahoo's Hot Sauce to your beans and rice and it's seriously amazing and will make your taste buds go WOW. Good service: for being considered "fast food", they sure do a lot for you. They check on you at least twice, if not more, to see if everything is ok. Cheap grub: for under 5 bucks, I can get a decent meal that consists of beans, rice and an enchilada. At other places, it'd be closer to 8 bucks. Thanks Wahoo's for making my wallet love you. Clean establishment: this place is seriously sparkling. The tables. The floor. The bathroom. Whenever I am back in SoCal, one of the first things I want to do is go to Wahoo's. While I love them all, this is my favorite Wahoo's location! I used to live nearby and remember how delighted I was when it (finally!) opened. Why do I like this particular Wahoo's so much? It is big and open, with lots of windows bringing in natural light. The staff is great so the line to order moves quickly and the food comes out fast, fast, fast. Also, the fish here is never too dry (as sometimes may happen at other locations). I typically either get the basic fish tacos (great!) or the shrimp burrito (amazing!). Please, please, please open a location in Arizona!!! read more

Yum. This place has good fish and sometimes they make it spicy, too. I got the Wahoo salad with fish, which also comes with gaucamole and salad. You might have to wait a little bit for your food but it is well worth it because the food is cooked to order. The employees here are nice and friendly. While standing there waiting for my order, three separate employees asked me if they could help me with anything. One of them offered me extra salsa. I didn't even have my food yet! And you know how places like Starbucks and Jamba Juice take down your name when you make an order and then call you by name later on? Well, at least one lady here makes a point to remember your name. Don't eat here. I got really terrible food poisoning. The only thing I ate that was different from my friend who ate there too was the carne asada. I vomited nonstop for over 24 hours to the point that I started vomiting blood. Again, do not eat here. I have never had foot poisoning so bad. read more

Food is always great and they occasionally jack your order, tell em about it and they'll take care of it for you. Let me preface by saying, I usually am a fan of Wahoo's Fish taco. I have been for years. I usually get the same order every time I visit any of thier various locations in Southern California. And get a wonderful meal. It is this: A Wahoo Salad with Banzai Veggies w/ Mr. Lee's sauce, no dressing. I wouldn't have even known about The Mr. Lee's Sauce Chili Sauce, if it hadn't been a menu special about four years back, that I tried and loved ever since. It adds a little spicy to the teriyaki sauce which coats the Banzai Veggies.Yum, right? Well, hot chili sauce is not at all pleasant if applied by the cupful, which is apparently what the new technique is at this Wahoo's in Foothill Ranch. I like spicy food, but this was completely inedible. Too bad I had ordered it to go, at lunch, and didn't have the time to return it. What a waste. Oh, and the grilled fish taco my fellow diner ordered was the drier than an ancient papyrus scroll. Shameful. The counter help was friendly when I ordered, but that doesn't make the food any more palatable, unfortunately. What the heck, Wahoos? Get it together! read more

I don't usually go to wahoos but I decided to stop by today. I ordered a carne asada burrito and I was sorely disappointed. The burrito was all rice, beans and lettuce and literally had like 5 pieces of carne asada. I thought maybe the meat was toward the bottom but as I got to the middle, it was still all rice and beans. I finally opened it up and confirmed my suspicions it was basically a veggie burrito. Never coming back to any wahoos. I hope a manager sees this and let's the cooks know to make it right.
