I have heard a lot about Wahoo's - mostly from people telling me it's their favorite place! First, the won me before I walked in. The environment is so cool. They have a ton of posters and signs on all the windows and walls. I feel it looks like what a Freebirds World Burrito is supposed to look like. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and even came to our table a couple times to see if we needed anything and clear our trash. Food wise - it was ok. I had a burrito that was the size of 2 Chipotle Burrito's. It wasn't near as good though. I ate some of my companies quesadilla though and it was incredible. I would go back just for that! I've been going to Wahoo's since I was a kiddo, and while it is a chain, it's the healthiest fast food alternative around, and the Hawaiian north-shore vibe is good reason alone why I keep coming back for more. I usually get the Wahoo's Salad, because they use green leaf lettuce (not the "spring mix" or ICEBERG) and with salsa and guacamole, who needs dressing?! Your choice of fillings include the usual suspects: fish, chicken, carne asada, but I'd try something different like shrimp or carnitas. Maybe even go for them blackened or SPICY! Though, I wouldn't recommend the banzai vegetables or going for the vegetarian topping, which is rice and beans. Whatever happened to the mushrooms!?!? I'm afraid I've been disappointed in this location of Wahoos long before the pandemic hit. Their quality has been variable for a few years now. Tonight, we had last-minute guests who volunteered to buy dinner for everyone. After having suggested Wahoos, we were embarrassed to have made the recommendation. We ordered 7 burritos, each a different protein plus a vegetarian one. Disappointingly, each burrito, no matter the protein, was easily 2/3 rice. We pulled apart the shrimp burrito and "reconstructed" the shrimp; there was either 1 large shrimp or two medium, at best, in the whole burrito. We won't be returning. read more

Wahoo's is a great place for a healthy lunch or dinner. I love their food. Recently I have discovered the citrus slaw skinny tacos. They are super bomb and super low carb friendly. You get a huge leaf of lettuce filled with their low calorie and carb coleslaw and your choice of protein. I mix it up and get one of each kind (chicken, steak, fish). My favorite one has to be the fish, followed by the chicken. They are extremely tasty with a lot of flavor. If you are looking for a low carb and healthy meal I suggest these every time. I have been coming here a long time and always satisfied, but never thought to review. Well I recently got takeout from here and there was a mixup and I got chicken nachos instead of the chicken quesadilla. My wife rarely posts a negative review, but this time she did even though I didn't know about it. So next day I come in and I order a chicken quesadilla just for myself to eat for lunch... I explain what happened the day before and laughing about how I really enjoyed it actually but feel sorry for the guy that got a boring chicken quesadilla instead of nachos. The staff actually did not laugh about it and apologized genuinely many times... they gave me a complimentary order with the desert item for free too that I was totally ok with paying for. I appreciate my wife's honest review, but having gone here myself for years I just didn't think to post anything. Bring your own napkins! They're so stingy with their napkins here every time, no matter what you order, it's kind of a joke. They would rather take their time to peel one or two napkins for your fork and your face and walk that napkin out to you than provide you with enough. They are a super clean and friendly location and usually for the full feeling you get after you eat and price of it, its like a double whammy. (Reviews not for food) Went in today around 430 and wasn't helped for 7 minutes even though there was no line. Sadly it wasn't like no one saw me. A cook, the cashier, and the guy who cleans the tables all made eye contact with me. The cashier even greeted me 3 min after being there once an employee that was off told her I was there. Yet I still wasn't helped for another 4 minutes. The employees were just sitting there chatting and making award eye contact with me. Another customer and I were just starring at eachother like hello who's going to help us. If your going to sit and chat the least you could do is go somewhere sorta hidden by customers. I don't usually write these types of things because I get that issues happen that are out of employees control but customer service is not one of them. They have a sizeable menu but, like the creature of habit I am, I almost always get the same thing: the #2 combo. It's the one with 2 tacos, rice and beans. I usually go with blackened fish and chicken, but lately I've noticed that the chicken tends to be overcooked and dry. Today, I switched it up a bit and went with steak - much better choice. Though I will say that none of their other meaty offerings measure up to their gold standard fish tacos. They're always moist, well-prepared and seasoned to taste. The rice and beans get kicked up a notch thanks to some mild salsa and cilantro, which is capable of adding flavor to just about anything. Everyone is always polite, the food service is quick and easy, and there's abundant seating almost any time of the day.
