During their lunch rush, you can either order online or call in your order to avoid a lengthy wait. I actually find their service to be consistently quick and friendly even if I don't order ahead of time. FRENCH FRIES ($2.99) - Fresh and Crispy. They fill the to-go box with fries so an order of this is great for sharing. TAQUITOS ($4.99) - They have chicken and steak taquitos and an order comes with three pieces. The taquitos are fresh and crispy and it goes great with the guacamole and sour cream that they give you on the side. Even though it is considered an appetizer on their menu, it is usually enough for me to have as a meal. QUESADILLA (cheese only $4.99, with protein $6.99) - I love their quesadillas! It is stuffed with jack and cheddar and you have the option of added chicken or steak or whatever you want for $2 extra. This item also comes with sour cream and guacamole. I get full on ¾ of this quesadilla. Quick and affordable, a solid lunch option. I am definitely not saying it is authentic or amazing, but it is consistently 'good enough.' Average at best but better than texmex locations. The service seemed very forced and felt annoyed to be working. When they weren't directly serving you, they were speaking a different language and completely ignoring you. As far as the food, it was better than most Mexican chains but no where near a local taco joint near the beach. The fish burrito was large and worth the price but I was looking for more flavor. Shout out to one of my favorite fish taco restaurants!! As a fellow health-conscious person it is important for a restaurant to offer healthy options without the large price tag and prepared in a short amount of time to enjoy during my lunch. The tacos are always delish but the bowls are great too! My favorite is the Veggie Bonzai Bowl with the mild fish. I usually select brown rice vs. the white rice and black beans, although one day I may try those white cajun beans! The bowls are a large portion and less than $10! Not bad for a warm, filling lunch. This location is a little smaller than the other locations I have been and no full booths. Not a deal breaker but good to know. Forgot how much I missed having Wahoo's Fish Tacos in my rotation of lunch spots. Cruised by here the other week, and I'm glad to see its still as good as I remember! I typically go for their spicy fish tacos or opt for a variety of bowls they have to offer. Bowl wise, my go to's are the wahoo bowl (choice of protein sauteed in teriyaki sauce) or their wild caught salmon bowl (grilled salmon with citrus slaw & aioli sauce). Both somewhat healthy and comes with your choice of white or brown rice and black or cajun white beans. Definitely, a good option for lunch! I go to Wahoo's a lot. Weekly. First review. The one time I didn't tip the manager and my burrito sat on the heater rack for 5 mins. He grabbed 2 people's food and did an order before grabbing mine. Decent place if you're looking for a quick lunch and decent fish tacos. My go-tos is their fish bowl and their carnitas is good too. The only thing I don't like is their beans (always undercooked) so I sub that out for extra rice. It gets super busy at lunch so try to come earlier or later to beat the rush. The quality of the protein is pretty decent and the fish tastes fresh and the pork is good too. Steak, pork, 3 types of fish and chicken. For the 3 fish tacos we paired it with the citrus slaw and the others with the 1988.. If I could go back I'd order all the tacos with the slaw for more flavor and one salsa cup for each taco and asked if they had flour tortillas.. I work around the area off Jamboree and Michelson, and the reason I go to that Wahoo at least twice a week, other than their food, is because of their staff. Isabel, Magaly and Letty are beyond awesome! They make me feel like I am visiting "Cheers" every time I come in. They greet me by name and have a very friendly, inviting and cheerful attitude. They love what they do, (that includes their Chef in the back), and that translates into the food they prepare and present to their customers. Nice California type Baja style eatery with savory fish tacos, a wide variety of beers for those who imbibe. Love the beach style, surfer environment. I love how California eateries so far have been health conscious with great mixtures of kale, whole grains, and beans. This is a chain franchise, maybe a step up from fast food, so you see people of all ages here. I think you do have to be 21 as they serve beer and wine. The savory Latino type smells make your mouth water. Quesadillas are good. Black beans and white rice are a great combination with a Baja fish taco with lots of cabbage slaw. Yum yum Wahoo's!! Can you ever go wrong with bomb tacos and burritos?! This screams Cali and I love it! I've been to Wahoo's numerous times at numerous locations. I've had burritos, bowls and tacos. On my latest visit, I got the Wahoo bowl with shrimp, I opted for the brown rice and black beens. So good and healthy! The shrimp is very fresh. I lathered it with hot sauce and it was oh so good! I like this place because you can be super healthy, orrrr super bad ;) this location is fairly big and the employees are nice. Clean bathrooms, clean tables, and overall clean environment. The decos are just like any Wahoo's and like mentioned earlier, screams CALI! The only thing about this location that sucks is the parking! Wahoo's is located in a very popping shopping center so during lunch time and evenings parking can be almost impossible to find. They do have a parking structure with the first 2 hours being free but then you would have to pay. They really need to do something about the parking at this complex. This mixed use development is absolutely terrible with it's bizarro parking layout combined with non-existent pedestrian paths and narcissistic, selfish Irvine drivers that makes walking in an Asian City safer than walking from the outer areas of parking (which sometimes have the only open spaces). I have a Masters in Urban Planning and this center along with Diamond Jamboree should get most of the Irvine Planning Dept fired (just kidding, I used to work for the City and have many friends still employed there. One planning project I worked on was a Men's Day Spa at Park Place which not surprisingly has since closed). However, I am forced to come to Park Place because my son loves Wahoo's and I love Houston's (except they got rid of free corkage so I dine there much less than I used to). This Wahoo's has the same great service and consistent food we have come to expect at all Wahoo's. Plus, because of the terrible parking, this location is generally less crowded. A recommended branch of my son's favorite chain but a hated, hated retail center. read more

The bonzai burrito here is 5 million stars, my favorite burrito anywhere! It is also the best value here. Obsessed with the bonzai veggies, it adds an Asian fusion twist to your average fish taco, too tasty. Love their service here, cool decor, plenty of seating. Food comes out quickly, I love their salsa and cilantro salad dressing and always add both on the side of my burrito. I've been to this location a few times now and cannot seem to comprehend why the manager susana at this location is so rude. My first experience at this location i decided to order my dinner via telephone. The manager susana directed me to wait behind a long line of customers despite the fact they have a separate cash register for pickup orders. My second experience today ended with 20 minutes of waiting on a telephone call to place an order for pickup. I was greeted by Susana placed on hold twice and hung up on twice. It was actually pretty good with a big portion of fish. I think you can get it grilled, blackened, or with teriyaki. I just had mine grilled which was fine and healthy, right? What I got didn't even look like Salmon it resembled more like "Halibut" fried on a stove top, no grill marks. It didn't even look like Salmon with the typical pink/orange color. It was off white, hardly any salmon flavor!! I know, I know......stock restaurant photo's always make the food look better than what comes out. Yes true! But c'mon it shouldn't be THIS far off!!! Its appearance was equivalent to seeing a beef burger on the menu & getting a chicken burger, it was THAT far off. So just a word to the wise. If you're looking at the photo of the salmon on this Yelp page just a warning you are NOT getting anything that resembles that. If you've been to California Fish Grill & had their Salmon plat, now THAT looks closer to this photo than what I actually got at Wahoo's. However, I don't think I would because their ingredients seem low quality and it just wasn't that good overall. The chicken was alright, but carne asada wasn't good. Lettuce wasn't good.
