You can get two proteins (I prefer the shrimp, the carne asada, or the carnitas) an two sides (veggies, beans, or slaw). A great way to get the taste you are looking for without all the unwanted carbs. However, if you want the best thing on their menu, it is their nachos. They put something on their chips that makes you crave them. I like to get the carne asada nachos with everything. If your child plays sports, have them wear their uniform there. I love Wahoo's Fish Taco in Costa Mesa. So when I saw that a Wahoo's opened up closer to my house, I was excited. I was concern about the flavors and dishes being different, but they are the same. I went on a Friday during lent at around 5 pm. Customer service was great for me. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean during my visit. The staff didn't see anything wrong with this. I contacted corporate office to let them know my concerns. They never responded (it's been almost a month). I love Wahoos, I've been eating at at this chain for 20+ years. This location just opened, and it is suffering typical issues for a new location, but once these get sorted out it will be one of the best Wahoo's around. Currently, my favorite location is the HB location on Warner and the Los Al location is owned by the same franchise owner (I believe). This is also one of the few locations to have a bar (sports bar- still very family friendly). Lastly, there are vegetarians and vegans in my family and all love it! Any entree item comes with your choice of protein and the vegan options are tofu, banzai veggies, or rice/beans (if you are vegan, be sure to get brown rice). Personally, I like just the rice and bean option. Great food at a reasonable price and there is something for everybody! read more

Its been awhile since I've eaten at Wahoo's so it's nice to see the menu expansion with options like Kailua pork, various protein bowls and of course the classics! It's all about the ingredients..the tortillas are made fresh which make a huge difference when eating either their infamous tacos or if you're enjoying churro chips! I realize they're a brand new location and didn't ding them a star, but I've been here 6 times since it opened a few weeks ago, and I've called ahead each time, but only gotten through to someone once. So glad this place opened up. This was me and my girlfriend's go-to spot back when we lived in Santa Barbara for undergrad. We've been craving this ever since we moved back because there wasn't any Wahoos nearby until now. Unlimited salsa. HUGE portions. Vegetarian options. My personal favorite is the wahoo fish with aioli and citrus slaw. The bonzai bowl also looked really good. Guac is a $1 extra, and they gave me two fat ice-cream scoops of it too! They also have a nice bar selection. All types of wine and draft beer. They have sculpin IPA too which is nice. Sculpin was like $8 for a glass, pitcher was like $17. Service: our cashier girl was kinda slow. Struggled a little when asked more about the food selection and differences. She made a slight mistake with a side too but we caught it and got a refund easily. Overall, got most of our big order correct so im satisfied. Lastly, I'd avoid the nachos. It was like $7 but pretty skimped on the meat. The cheese hardened quickly and it was pretty salty in my opinion. read more

I don't usually walk out of an eating establishment, but I did today. With Covid happening we are doing our best to keep these eating places open even though we have to sit outside. We got our food and left. Their patio was disturbingly dirty. Trashes overflowing, tables filthy etc. it wasn't even busy so there ware enough workers to take care of it. I was excited for this place to open as I work down the street. So yesterday (9/26/18) I decided to go in and try it out. They were super busy which is typical for noon lunch hour. I ordered the Maui Steak bowl and added avocado. As I got back to my office to eat I noticed they didn't add my avocado (which I was charged $1.25 additional) I had already waited 30 min for my food so I didn't have time to go back. My co-workers decided they wanted to go back today. So I decided to give it a 2nd go. I ordered the Protein bowl this time around with chicken, and Asada. Not hard to mess up, right?? Wrong. Got back to our office and noticed I got chicken and Carnitas. I was pretty upset. I tried calling the restaurant but all the phone did was ring each time I called. I am really trying to support local restaurants in my area but every time I order from here they forget something or don't read the order correctly. They weren't even busy and still couldn't get the order right. Today they added sour cream to my burrito when it was supposed to be in the side and I asked for no seasoning on the chips and they were loaded.
