I had the pleasure of going here last Sunday their first official day, I spent a few hours and enjoyed a great lunch with friends and a pitcher of Ice cold sangria, the food was incredible the service first class from the restaurant to the bar, these guys offer a pitcher of sangria for $22 and they have a special deal running where you get a 750 ml bottle included to take home. The food came hot and prepared with perfection, the owner Tom and his team have to be commended for the first day, everything in the air seemed like they have been open for years. We ordered the citrus salad, along with a burrito combo plate.. I requested that the chicken be replaced with the blackened mushrooms, due to my wife being a vegitarian. I picked up the order, brought it home, and was very disappointed. The cook put both chicken AND mushrooms on the salad, making it un-edible for my wife. It was a simple request and they messed it up big-time. We are very sad because neither of us are inclined to return to the Los Alamitos location. read more

Came to this location on a Friday night with some friends. We sat out in the patio and had excellent service. I really appreciate that the people working there let us stay and talk even after they were closed (we didn't know they closed at 8:00. One of the staff members came out to clean our table and asked if we needed anything else and I said "hey we need to leave they are closing soon" and the staff member said we already closed. How nice of him to say that!! Food was great and so was the service. I came in two days later to get some salsa and I saw the same staff members. They were handling a difficult customer really well (she was upset about not getting the right order and they made sure they fixed it and and were very calm with her). It's meh, alright here. I usually order the kale Kai salad with tofu and the past few times I've been here it never comes with the tortilla strips that it's supposed to have and it hardly has any of the corn slaw stuff. It ends up being a very underwhelming salad without that extra crunch from the tortilla strips. It just ends up being a ton of tofu with some kale and nothing else. I have only been here one time and the salad actually came with everything it is supposed to. On the other hand the onion rings came out fine and the banzai bowl with tofu was fine. I keep ordering the salad hoping that it will come out correct but it never seems to. Edit: thank you for your response I appreciate it :). I am not looking to order a special custom salad. I was just saying that on the menu it says the salad is supposed to come with the tortilla strips and it never does. Been to the Torrance location several times and was always a great spot to eat.. Stopped here for the first time, ordered the same thing I usually get in the Torrance location which is a Wahoo Bowl with chicken.. It wasn't bad, however, 30 seconds after ordering it, it was already at my table.. Tells me food isn't freshly made to order... kinda concerning... I love Wahoo's, I especially love this location. My dad was/is a surfer so I grew up eating the original fish tacos for the past 21 years outta HB. My 3 year old son is a picky eater, but since he was 1 and a half, loves the grilled fish here.. this specific spot is run like a well oiled machine, it's always clean and the workers here are super nice. Also having 2 little kids, it is one a few spots that is very laid back, family and kid friendly. Today I did a phone order today (covid 19), which got lost in the mix.. anyways, I had to wait about 5 minutes for them to prep it. Went here to order a salad on Monday $14.54. First I had asked for extra dressing, didn't get it. Second, I checked my banking account today and noticed I was charged $26.60 for a $14.54 order!? What's up with that? I will speak with the manager today. Update: The overcharge was my error. I didn't have my glasses on and I was asked if I wanted to tip, not asking for a pin. This review is for the online ordering. Each time that we have ordered online something about the order is wrong. Last night was the last time we will be ordering from this Wahoo's. I get the impression that they don't take care to make sure the order is correct and the way things are packaged it's very hard to check every taco to make sure it's as ordered. It's very frustrating to get home, find out it's not right, check your receipt that yes you ordered right but the food to be wrong. Because it happens so often I can only conclude that the people who work here don't care. With the high cost of eating out these days I think we will have to find another restaurant that values our business. read more

So we absolutely love the food here. We used to come pre covid when they had a bar tender. You ordered your food at the bar. We had wonderful service. We also came during covid and sat outside. We had to go to register to order drinks and food but again service was fantastic. We are hoping now that they get back to having a regular bar tender. We were there the other day and a gentleman named David made our drinks and helped us. Although we still had to order our drinks at the register David fulfilled our drink order. I hope he gets trained to help as the regular bar tender and that the restaurant gets back to letting us order at the bar. David was so nice and personable. I hope I see him next time. read more

I came for take-out during social distancing and was not impressed with measures taken for COVID-19 safety. Actually, I didn't see any measures. No markings on the floor for customer separation guidance (luckily there were no other customers at the time), nothing to keep me at least 6' away from the counter service worker -- in fact when my food was ready she just handed it to me, I had to be careful not to touch her hand. The food was better pre-Covid at this location. I went back hungry for their flavor just the other day. I ordered fish burritos, shrimp burritos, and fish tacos and they were all served super cold. I used to prefer Wahoo's over Rubios because they had good warm food and a hip atmosphere. Now I think I am going back to Rubio just because they serve hot meals. I have been here twice, and disappointed both times. My last visit was bad enough to leave a review. We placed a phone order, which our receipt confirms: Salmon bowl Kids fish bowl Kids quesadilla with fries Shrimp burrito Chips and salsa. What we received. Salmon bowl Kids fish bowl (smallest and worst tasting piece of un-seasoned fish) next to a small scoop of super bland black beans and white rice. Chips and a 1/3 cup of salsa Bean rice and cheese burrito. So no quesadilla with fries at all, and the wrong burrito. My wife even asked when she picked it up (I phoned in the order, so she didn't know what to expect) if everything was in there, as it didn't seem like enough food for a family of 4. The young man at the counter assured her that yes, all was there. Upon returning home, we discovered the missing and incorrect food. We called the restaurant to let them know of their mistake. They offered to make the food or issue us a refund the next time we come in. That's fine, they attempted to fix the problem. I'm just sharing my experience, so that you won't make the same mistake, and trust the kid at the counter to get your order correct. I know mistakes happen, but this order was FUBAR!!! The kids bowl wasn't edible either, and I had to dump the whole thing of salsa on the BRC burrito to give it some flavor. Ordered food to go and the service was terrible. The order was incomplete and once we brought it up to the manager's attention we were greeted with an annoyed face by our complaint. After an extra 10 minutes of waiting for the corrected order we get home to find out a couple of the plates were still wrong. It is sad to say but we won't be going back due to the service alone. The Los Al location has a nice dine in area with a bar and a cool patio. They have several beers on draft. My hubs got the SLO Brew Cali-Squeeze, blood orange hefe a must try. I've been a fan of their onion rings forever since the 90s. Good food, good service, and attentive staff are reasons why I always keep coming back to Wahoo's. read more

I've definitely experienced better. Matter of fact, across the street there's Baja Sonora. Now that place has really good food. I have eaten here many times. I have even catered lunches for large groups. Yesterday, I ordered lunch on their website for pickup. The only option was to use the DoorDash platform. I went to the restaurant and picked up my order. When I got home I was missing an item. I called the store 3 times and no one answered the phone. I got through today and they refused to refund my money or give me a gift card or give me the food I ordered. Told me it was their fault, but contact DoorDash who refused to give me a credit too.
