I get it that they may be busy right now... But I went in and put in an order and 30 minutes later I had to go back and ask them if they had my food. They said they called me. I was sitting right next to the counter they never mention my name it's that they're getting cold in a corner... The cashier saw me several times made eye contact with me... She absolutely would have known if they had called my name also. they used to be a great spot where I would go there at least once a week and get food for my family of three. After this experience I will never go back there again. They treated me so rude thinking that it was my fault that they didn't call my name. I get it that they're busy... But there is no excuse to treat somebody like their garbage when we're actually doing them the favor by going to their restaurant. Do not go here unless you wanted to be treated rudely. This Wahoo's location is my personal favorite. Great outdoor seating in an enclosed patio although it's a bit noisy due to the traffic (the ocean breeze makes up for it). Fish, shrimp and mushrooms were great. The chocolate chip cookie was totally gross. I should have asked for a refund :0( Neither Jeff or I ate it. Except for the girl who tried to take our order (I don't think she could've graduated grade school!), the service was fast and courteous. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. It was my first time at Wahoo's, I usually go to Rubio's to get my fish taco fix. I ordered the cilantro slaw fish taco plate, which was good, but not great. The fish was definitely the hero of the dish, but I didn't really care for anything else. The beans were undercooked and I'm not a fan of corn tortilla and was never given an option for flour tortilla. The staff were friendly and the environment was chill. We had a great time just hanging out on the patio with the kids. All in all, if I get invited to happy hour at Wahoo's, I'll show up. But, Rubio's is definitely my first choice. read more

Incredibly fresh and healthy! I have an autoimmune disease and am unable to eat certain things because of it and food allergies. They are extremely accommodating and so kind when making modifications. Their ingredients are so fresh and their fish is wild caught, not farmed, which is a huge plus to me and a big boost for nutrition. They were so helpful and thoughtful, when they delivered the food they brought out different sauces to try with our meal. I love how many options there are per menu choice. You can really customize what you want! So thankful for the incredible experience here today. read more

As a regular of Wahoo's for 40 years, the San Clemente location is the worst experience. I used Grubhub and the order was missing food order items and Wahoo's refused to refund difference. The presentation was awful and the portion sizes were small. I called and spoke with the manager, and he said that he could not do anything about getting ripped off. I will never use any food delivery service, since I suspect Grubhub delivery ate some of the food (they left the condiments only). read more

If you want a great burrito, Wahoo doesn't disappoint. I got The 1988, wet, with steak for my protein, and it was not only huge, it tasted fresh and robust with flavors! Price for portion size is fair, eat in or take out, prompt service and arrival of food. I'll go back. Enjoy! read more

I'll order tacos with no slaw and they give me tacos with slaw. Don't waste your time and money at this place. I've always liked Wahoo's. Good food, good service. However the other night I had an experience that left a bad taste in my mouth (so to speak). While I was out running errands, my husband called in our family's order. The man on the phone read back his entire order correctly. I ran in with my 3 year old son to pick it up. It should have been a quick and easy transaction. It wasn't. When I arrived, they had an order under my husband's name, but it was missing two-thirds of our order. So I had to re-place the order and then sit down to wait with my ancy 3 year old. Strike one. After waiting for a bit, I went up to the counter to ask them to add cheese to my order. They charged me an additional $0.50 for the cheese. I don't care about the fifty cents, but I would have figured at that point they would have given it to me as a mea culpa. I was wrong. Strike two. At that point, they hand me my order, minus the part of the order that was on their original order. They tell me my husband called in to cancel it. Uh, what? So I called my husband. He most certainly did not call in to cancel or modify our order. Strike three. I ask to speak with a manager, because at this point, I'm really angry, having to deal with bad customer service and a whiny 3 year old at the same time. The manager could not have cared less. He spoke with the person who took my husband's phone order, who maintained his outright lie that my husband called to cancel his order. They threw stickers in my bag and called me a liar. Hurray for wonderful customer service. The food is good, but I won't be patronizing this Wahoo's location again. read more

I heart Wahoo's. This is their best location. Lots of seating, both inside and out. The service is fast and friendly. I always get a #2, grilled fish enchiladas with red sauce and black beans. The fish tacos were good. The fish is grilled, not fried. It's cooked nicely but it isn't very flavorful. If you like simple and delicious then it is good. However, when you order something like a carne asada burrito you expect flavorful meat that has been seasoning for hours that will melt in your mouth. Not what you get here. It was good but still simple and bland. The restaurant itself is kind of cool. Looks like a surf/skate/snowboard place. However, I'm sure that's common here in California. read more
