It was decent. She has a good Groupon deal going on at the moment & that's how I found the place. The place is so cute but I kinda wish we had a conversation to add to the vibes but it is what it is. I just found it a lil odd how she told me that she had 0 complaints when I did make the time to see reviews on this place prior to visiting. There are complaints. I don't think there was a need to mention it. The quality of my nails were okay. I got a cute blue shade but this is the first time where the layers were not enough that I could see light shine through my nail. I expect to maybe hear back with a possible negative response if she doesn't like this review much because I've seen her clap back on other reviews that weren't great about her. As I worte I got there 3:05 NOT 4:05 please dont mess this up. and told you "excuse me" and you didnt reply! And I just decided to wait hoping that I could get my nails started soon. Absolutely unprofessional and disrespectful. I had a 4:00 PM appointment and arrived at 3:55. When I got there, the nail tech was still working on another client. I politely said "excuse me" to let her know I was there, but she completely ignored me. I waited until 4:05, and she was still chatting and laughing with the previous customer like I didn't exist. I had to say "excuse me" again and told her I had a 4:00 appointment. Instead of apologizing, she just said, "I'm with my client" and told me to wait another 15 minutes. No apology, no explanation. When I said, "It's already past 4:00, and you want me to wait 15 more minutes?" she just said, "Yeah, but I'm with my client." I reminded her again that I had a 4:00 appointment, and all she said was, "Yeah, sorry~ just wait a bit more," with the most dismissive attitude. If you're going to run a solo business, punctuality and communication with clients are basic professionalism. I've never experienced such rude, careless, and unaccountable behavior at a nail salon. She clearly didn't care whether a client was waiting or not, and acted like it wasn't her problem. This place is seriously lacking in respect, time management, and customer service. Visiting in January I happily found this new, pretty salon in Hillcrest. She had only been open a month! I wanted a gel manicure for my birthday and I told the owner I have problem nails that chip. She said, " I have something for that." She sure did. My manicure lasted three weeks and looked great. Actually, it helped my nails and they have grown out nicely. Sorry I do not recall her name but I can tell you I will be back on my next visit. She pushes back the cuticles, instead of cutting, and that makes a huge difference. I really enjoyed getting my nails done by Zoe! I'm an awkward client, but she didn't force me to have full on conversations haha The nail quality is on point! Zoe was really nice and worked hard on the nails but the job was okay. She was really patient with scheduling me and 2 others in my party which I have to giver her credit for. I was happy leaving the studio until I noticed I got cuts and the gel wasn't painted on the best. I guess for how much I paid that's fine but not the best work I've had. I was also up-charged for the luxury pedi which was almost a 20 dollar difference for only a 5 minute scrub and massage. Again it wasn't the worst experience but I'd rather pay someone a little more for better service and clear pricing. read more

I rarely leave reviews but this experience definitely calls for it. To start, the business owner cancelled my first appointment because she double booked me. Once I was able to get an appointment over a week later, another woman came in during my appt, she double booked another customer's appointment. I paid for the luxury mani/pedi, which includes 7 minute massage. I asked her what was included in the luxury package and she listed everything that was included in the basic package. It was sort of comical because I was sitting right next to a poster that listed all services included in each package. I think this is because she was rushing to finish my service so she could she get the other lady in. Lastly, I have never had such a painful pedicure, I literally have scabs on my toes from several times she cut me, she then poured rubbing alcohol on the cuts which was uncomfortable to say the least. Once I got home and inspected my manicure I had to re-file my nails because they were so uneven/misshaped and had pieces of skin hanging off my cuticles. Zoe charged me $10 for pedi, gel removal and another $5 because my mani color was different than my pedi color. These are basic services that are usually included in nail services. I paid the extra because I didn't feel comfortable arguing with her. I did not tip Zoe, the $15 extra she made me pay was for color and polish removal. Very disappointing service all around, I do not recommend Waifu Nail Studio. read more

I can't speak to the quality of her services, but the customer service was certainly lacking. I booked an appointment online, received a confirmation, and arrived at the salon expecting someone to be there. Upon checking in via the QR code, I assumed she might be running late since it was around lunchtime. I called and left a message about ten minutes after my appointment time, then followed up with another message twenty minutes later. I also sent texts, including a screenshot of the confirmation email. Unfortunately, I received no response. This was incredibly unprofessional. I've never experienced anything like this before, and I cannot recommend this salon. read more
