I was a walk in and they took me as soon as I signed in! After you sign in they immediately tell you to choose colors instead of waiting first. The nail technician, Rosie, helped me and she was very nice and helpful. I just did a single color on my toes. For my hands, I wanted to do a design off the Internet and Rosie replicated it on point! She even stopped me from asking for more (black color) because it would drown out the other nail colors. Thank God she gave me her insight before my nails would not turn out so great. I would say one thing I was super impressed with was the shaping of my nails. I did oval nails and she took a little while to file them all but trust me, it was worth it. Each nail looks perfectly shaped, no over filing, no under filing. AND it's centered in the middle. They sterilize their tools well with a machine and the tubs are cleaned after each use. This is conveniently located in the Foodland shopping center. I arrived at 845 and was first on the waiting list. They had me wait outside while they mopped up the shop. They took me in 10 min later and easily upgraded me to a deluxe pedicure vs the regular pedicure I was set in my mind to get. It included a mask, sugar scrub and massage. I work on my feet all day and I was looking forward to a good 10+ minute foot massage. The massage part lasted way less than that. She had a good technique and strong hands, but it wasn't as long as I felt worthy of the costs. Pedicure was great, polish came out nice. Other than the short massage time, I enjoyed my experience and will return. I'll just have to leaarn to vocalize my concerns next time. read more

I was a first timer here. Definitely recommend! I got my mani pedi by David and he honestly killed the game on my set yo! He made sure I was comfortable, and constantly made sure I was okay not only that but he took his time and didn't give us a "gtfo" kinda vibe like most places do. I live nearby in Waipio, so I came here on a whim the other day as I did not feel like driving to where I normally go for my pedicures, so I walked-in without an appointment. All the workers were busy with clients, so there was a little bit of a wait. I signed in and noticed there weren't many seats in the front waiting area. They were all occupied and one of them seemed to have a box on it with fake flowers or something. None of the workers took it upon themselves to move it so clients, such as myself, who happen to be waiting, could sit down on it; or they could have at least offered that I sit and wait in 1 of the 3 empty pedicure chairs....that would've been nice! But they did not acknowledge standing clients who were waiting (at the time, it was just me standing). They really should pay attention to this as a courteous gesture and to allow the client experience to be that much better! The overall experience was okay and comparable to that of many other nail salons, nothing extraordinary. The gal who was working on me wasn't as friendly as other ladies at other salons I've had in the past. I did ask her if they offer additional massage, of course I'd pay! She said, 'Yes, $1 per minute.' So I asked if she could massage 10 minutes more on each leg. She replied, '10 minutes more?' As if she was hoping that would be the total additional time; but I said, 'Yes, on EACH leg.' LOL! I mainly get pedicures for the massage portion of it....it's the best part! She looked a little irritated, but oh well! I didn't expect it for free! She then started talking in Vietnamese, but I can't make out one way or the other if she was talking bad about me/my request. I got a full face wax and pedicure done by Tiana. The Wax was nice, I have sensitive skin and so i'm used to a little redness or even a little l bleeding. Tiana kept making sure I was okay and It was just a really nice gesture, she was nice through the whole thing. For the pedicure also very pleasant! I stopped in for a gel fill. I waited for about 20 minutes and it wasn't busy at all. I was assigned one technician who pawned me off to another; hence the 20 minute wait. She sat me at the middle table and began to work on my fill. I had a gel french manicure and my real nail wasn't showing through the white tip but she said she wanted to strip the whole paint job and start over. I refused and said I wanted a fill. She did my fill with only ONE coat which didn't include the base coat. When I saw her walk up to the register while I was curing under the light, I knew my service was done. I asked her if I needed another coat cause I saw the sides were not painted, she said no. So I got up, paid, and left. I wasn't going to argue because it seemed like I was being a burden from the beginning. I'm sure they're all great technicians but I won't be able to scrub my first experience here. Location wise, it's perfect. Lots of parking and a short drive from all highway exits. The establishment is clean and bright; very open and colorful. Tons of colors to choose from too. It's been a few years since I've gone to this salon for nails and it's still just not bad. They were able to take me right away as a walk in and my nails looks nice enough from far away. If you get up close they're a little wonky but pretty much what I expected. The price wasn't bad but I don't like the fact that they took off my existing gel polish a dremel instead of soaking off the polish. My fingernails under the polish are now paper thin and she hurt me a couple times while cutting my cuticles. That being said I'm writing based on price, cleanliness, color options, and service. Prices are great, pedis are ($24) and mani with gel is ($35) and that's what I usually get. It's small, next to foodland, but the nail salon is full of charming sweet employees. My lady (tiana) was very sweet and asked me what I wanted and made small talk and never pressured me into getting anything else just for the extra money. I rarely get my nails done but I had such a positive experience I will probably do it more often! I went in to get a regular mani- pedi but ended up doing the acrylic set with gel polish and a fade. Although it added up to about $76 dollars, I was happy with my nails and toes. Rosie did my nails and she did a great job. The lady who did my toes was also very gentle! The polish didn't smudge at all which has happened to me at other places. Rosie recommended gels so it would dry fast. I will be back when I'm on Oahu. It was pretty busy when I went at 6pm, I had an appointment. I would recommend making one. read more

I just feel like the design of my nails was messy and uneven. The length of my acrylic nails were uneven. Also, their was glue stuck under my nail along with clumps of the acrylic powder. Went there for the first time since my person at my normal place was on vacation. The nail work was nice on yelp so I figure I would give them a try. Happy that they could take me and Tony was quick BUT... when I really got to look at it outside, I could see that my fills was a different color, shape wasnt so great, wasnt smooth at all. Lots of bumps and uneven. I was hapoier when my nails was half grown out. Even then it looked better. I decided to paint over it but was hard being that it was bumpy and uneven. After I painted it, the flaws was even more visible. When my regular guy gets back from vacation at my normal place, I am going to take the whole set off and redo it... what a waste of my time and money. I expected better... Hey I even tipped him butnit was before i saw all the flaws... That was the worst fills I ever had after all the years I have done my nails... Sorry for the bad review. read more

Unfortunately i made the mistake of coming here when it came to removing my acrylics.. First of all, when I walked in, they didn't bother saying hello. Just looked at me and the lady finally said "yes?"... Totally killed my mood cuz then I felt like a hassle for bothering them and their one customer. I asked if I could get my acrylics removed and she looked at the other guy with a confused look and told me to take a seat. She took my hand and started investigating them like they were foreign to her. I didn't understand what she was saying but she asked the other guy something which sounded a whole lot like "how am I supposed to get these off?". Next thing I knew, she pulls out the tray of plastic nails, grabs one, and uses it to pry my nails off!!! OUCH! she dug it under my fake ones and tries to separate them taking my REAL NAILS off too! She obviously realized that I was uncomfortable and that this method wasn't working so she grabs a bowl of nail polish remover and puts my hands in. At this point, I was so irritated at the fact that I knew what was coming next. She was going to continue prying them off after my hands were soaked (btw soaking them in nail polish remover for that long is BAD for your skin.. I figure she would have known that). Of course, she continued ripping them off, causing some of my nails to bleed when they were taken off with the acrylic. If I knew that I was gonna pay to have my nails messed up, I would have just done that myself. Never going here again. read more

Went here for my prom nails and didn't necessarily enjoy the results. The nails were badly shaped and weren't painted all the way down to the cuticle. I went back just 2 days after and they began to claim that it was due to the growth of my nails -- I even showed images of the initial day I came in and the nails looked the exact same. There were also gaps in between the sides of the nail and the actual acrylic.. nails do not grow outwards! When I asked for a fix, they tried to reason with me about the causes of the gap in between the nails. Highly recommend another shop. read more

When you enter this place, all the workers just kinda stare at you from whatever they're doing. I've been there many times to know that I just yell out what I'm doing that day: "EYE BROW WAX!" Then I sit down. No one acknowledges you, but they hear you and after about 10 minutes of waiting, someone eventually escorts you to a chair. I've gotten pedicures, manicures, gel polish, fills, and acrylics put on here. They were all pretty much BLAH. You can get all of those somewhere else at the same price and better service. What I do like coming here for, though, is eyebrow waxing. Yes, boys, if your chickadee doesn't look like Bert of Bert and Ernie, then she is waxing her eyebrows every other weekend. Don't look alarmed, it's a fact of life. If you'd rather, I can meet you later to use my special Men In Black memory eraser and we can forget this review was ever written. Anywho, they do a really good job of eyebrow waxing. My top eyebrow waxers would be 1) Lena's Fab Brows 2) Linda at L'Mour and 3) Anyone at this place. Now, if you factor in being only $12 and within walking distance from my house, it jumps to the top of the list most of the time. So, if you're looking for a spa experience, I suggest you look elsewhere. BUT, if you're in the area and are starting to look like a Sesame Street character, this place is worth checking out. read more

I'm sticking to that phrase 'never cheat on your nail lady' they have a few chairs to sit on to wait.. or you can ask how long the wait it going to be and just walk around the plaza or even foodland since its right next door. I went to Chi for a pedicure. nothing fancy.. just getting my ingrown toenails out. she does an amazing job! very friendly and helpful.. I went from seeing her every two weeks.. to once every 4-5 weeks. which is way less painful than getting my toe numbed and then a doctor going in and removing my toenail. this place is neat! your pedicure supplies comes in a separate bag.. it must have been sterilized and such. which is really neat! they have a chair for your little one to sit in! which is cool!! that was my first time seeing one in a nail salon before. I get a fade polish looking effect on my toenails! it looks way good.. and lasts! i pick out any color and Chi goes in and puts glitter on fading it from the color of the polish I picked out at the top of my toenail.. to glitter by the bottom portion of my toenail! I really love this way she polishes.. because.. you can't tell how far my toenails have grown since my last pedicure! you know what I'm writing about?! haha. it's rough having a solid color on your nail.. as then bam two weeks later your nail grows out and your polish looks off and it makes it seems like you have to re-polish your nails again. most definitely I will be going their again! this place has a very clean atmosphere. the workers are friendly and attentive. read more

This place is great! I've only been twice and I saw Mai both times and she is fantastic. She creative and does an amazing massage...I could have slept in her chair for hours. The shop it's self is a little packed, but clean. They use an autoclave to sanitize their tools-not many do that. I do think they're a little pricey, they even charge to remove your old polish-so clean your nails yourself at home first. read more

UPDATE 6/14/13: I couldn't stand it because I was so pissed, so I called back to complain. It took me a couple calls before I finally got in touch with someone willing to help me. My first two calls I spoke with the crappy guy and another girl who were both hard to understand and really had no phone etiquette. Finally, I got to speak with Rosie and explained that I was very unhappy with my mani and pedi and why (see details below) so she offered to redo it. I made an appointment to specifically have Rosie work on me. I'm very happy with how she treated me and the job that she did--much more to what I expected! She was very nice to me and quite apologetic--she wouldn't even let me tip her when I was done. I'm happy with the outcome, but I can't give it more than 3 stars because overall the shop is just average. If you plan on going here, I'd would highly recommend only seeing Rosie. She is the only one worth having work on you. She sweet and does a good job! Original 6/11/13: I'm going to have to agree with Alethea B.'s review. I had the guy work on me for the mani pedi combo and it was THE WORST job I've ever had done on me. Cold water, no callous removal, couldn't even bother to use cuticle remover cream on my hands. I have short nails--no shaping, no cutting, only need cuticle attention to make them look decent and he didn't even do that. If I could, this would be a big fat 0 stars! Polish is clumpy, it's gooped up along my cuticles and on the surrounding skin, I have a gape on my big toe from where his finger smudged it...it's seriously like a blind person or a small child did my nails. read more

The lady who did my pedicure treated my big toe like it had hang nails on both sides. She clipped both sides of my big toe nail and pulled back on the nail causing extreme pain as she lifted and peeled both sides of my big toe nail off of my skin. I made a face/noise of pain and asked her to stop letting her know it was sore. I specifically told her to not to do that on the big toe of my other foot. She still proceeded to do so and I asked her to stop. Usually I don't leave bad reviews and I would have let it slide, but my toe continues to ache a week later. I got there at 1:45 and signed in. By 2:00 nobody had looked at me yet so I wrote my number down on the sign in sheet and went next door for a haircut. They sat me at 3:20 and started the water on my feet. I asked them to heat up the water and at first she said no, but then the guy came over and did it for me. The water cooled down again and they had to heat it up again for me. They left me soaking for FORTY minutes. Forty minutes before they even sat down in front of me!! So he scrubs my legs and my feet and rinses off my legs with FREEZING water. Then guess what? There's a dog that's been sitting in a corner the whole time and dude leaves me with my toes half-painted to go WALK HIS DOG!! WTF??? Despite my reservations I let him do my hands and it is the worst paint job I have ever seen. It's like pooled up all over the place, like he put too much on and didn't bother to brush it off properly. At 4:30 the three ladies originally ahead of me were done. At 4:45 I was finally finished. I came in for a pedicure (done by Mai) and while I was waiting for the polish to dry, another employee had just finished doing a pedicure and went straight into doing an eyebrow wax and she didn't even wash her hands!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aunty over here just touched another persons feet and is about to put those same hands on another persons face!!!! Just took off the gloves and went in the waxing room! Regardless of wearing gloves, she should've washed her hands with some damn SOAP AND WATER. So disturbing for me to witness that. read more

EYEBROWS!!! Oh-em-gee!!! I have the worst eyebrows in the world...no joke. There's no shape to them and they just look like boring smudges above my eyes. ROSIE!! She's truly a miracle worker with my eyebrows and can shape them like no one else can. I've tried a lot of places, from hole-in-the-walls to high-end salons, but no one can seem to shape them like Rosie can. The prices here are very reasonable, Rosie is personable, and they're very busy on the weekends. I would recommend making an appointment on the weekends so you won't end up waiting an hour or more. read more

Been here several times already and I love the service and outcome of my nails every time. My daughter loves to get her nails done here too and she doesn't even live in Hawaii. She gets the full set and pedicure when she visits. The price is a little expensive compared to mainland but it's reasonable for Hawaii and other places in town are higher.
