Hand pulled noodles are always a yes for me! So glad we can add another spot for one. The texture is amazing and has that perfect chew. Was also cool seeing the talented cooks making them right in front of you! I opted for the beef soup and it was seasoned deliciously. It reminded me of bun bo hue. Their chili oil is amazing. I do wish the broth was more temperature hot as well as an option for spicy mala tingling hot. I am not sure if it's permanent but they are using the adjacent space previously occupied by Chili Star for overflow seating. 5 stars for our first visit! We have been meaning to try Walala for some time, but you really have to be in the mood for such a heavy meal. We visited on a Saturday for lunch, close to 1pm. It was pretty busy but we were able to snag a table right away. Since the bowl looked pretty big we opted to share one noodle dish and started with the fried dumplings for $7.95. These were not your average restaurant dumplings, super fresh and I loved how much meat there was with the crispy bottom! For our noodle dish we tried the crispy spicy beef shank, $16.95. It's definitely spicy if you think it won't be and I loved how fresh the noodles tasted, along with the onion, cilantro and garlic. They will give you more noodles if you need. Chinatown is on fire lately, just like me after I after order something spicy here. But for real, we got the Spicy Sliced Beef Shank $17 and it spiced up my entire life. I considered moving to Alaska to cool down. It was delicious tho and if you're up for it I highly recommend, plus it's big enough to share for 2. Located in the middle of Orlando's Enson Market (arguably the best spot for Asian food in this area), Walala offers amazing options for a wide a variety of Chinese cuisine with excellent service as well. I ordered the Spicy Sliced Beef Shank Hand-Pulled Noodles as my main course and they were not only quite a hefty serving, but also had a very distinct spiciness and flavor profile that really soaked into the meats and vegetables. However, the highlight of the dish was the hand-pulled noodles. These were served perfectly al dente and did not change in texture for the 20 minutes it took me to eat the entire dish. You can really taste the difference between these noodles and the ones you would get at your typical noodle shop. My two appetizers were the Steamed Pork Dumplings and the Potstickers. The steamed pork dumplings were so juicy I needed to use a spoon to catch the leftover juice after my first bites. The were served with a spicy sauce that paired perfectly with the soft and savory flavor of the pork. The potstickers had a similar taste to the dumplings, but with slightly less juiciness and more of a crispy bite. Overall, both were amazing, but I would rate the dumplings in a tier above the potstickers. Definitely a highlight of the meal as well. And I couldn't submit a review of this establishment without mentioning the tremendous service they have here. I was seated immediately and my food came to my table within 5 minutes of me ordering. This was some of the fastest order-to-table times I have experienced before. On top of that, there was not a moment where my water was less than half way full. Our server was constantly making sure I was hydrated throughout the meal, and I am an avid water consumer during meals so it was very impressive that he kept up. Lastly, I do want to quickly mention the ambience at this restaurant. There are a lot of yellow banners with Chinese lettering and designs, which works nicely with a more traditional restaurant like this. The seating and the tables are more rustic, giving the place a more hole in the wall feel. Overall, it works perfectly with the vibe that this restaurant is going for. If you want some top notch noodles with a traditional feel, Walala is the place for you. I rate this establishment a coveted 19/20 Freys. I opted out of the chili oil in fear of it being too spicy so I just added a few drops. The lamb skewers were well seasoned but chewy. This was our first time experiencing Walala and knew we had to get there early! Saturday, 12:05AM and the place was already 50% full! We were seated quickly, I instantly joined their rewards program, and the three of us ordered what we hoped would look like the photos in the menus. They did NOT DISAPPOINT! The flavors of the soup, the textures of the noodles, the spices, SO. GOOD! The place is totally cute inside, room for plenty of people, but it can fill up quickly and we witnessed lines form a few times. Amazing noodle place in Chinatown! There's not much to say except that the noodles are probably some of the best in Orlando! Perfectly chewy! And sitting in the most flavorful broth! They do offer noodle refills but honestly they already give you so much noodles from the get go I was absolutely stuffed. The broth was extremely disappointing. I tried the spicy beef broth and it just tasted like water. No flavor, no spice. You could see some hot oil in the broth, but it didn't come through in the taste. My ramen broth was decent, but very light considering tonkotsu broth is normally very rich. We did like the fact that noodles were unlimited, but they gave us plenty to start with. The drinks were the highlight of the night and we were very satisfied with them. The prices were reasonable to boot. The dumplings were also a disappointment. The presentation was very mid...why have wings on the dumplings if you don't serve them wing side up? They weren't bad, but they weren't anything amazing. The tea egg was not bad. Inside, it was brightly lit and the walls had giant photos of their dishes. Very bright and happy. It's a hole in the wall noodle shop that is in a not so great area, but I don't mind going for good food. The noodles were pulled and dropped right into boiling water. We ordered the pan fried buns which was kind of sweet but delicious. Then I picked a combo meal that included the trio sides. I think next time I would just stick to the noodles as I didn't really care for the sides. My boyfriend did get his spicy and I preferred that over nonspicy. It had SO much flavor and was absolutely delicious. We sat at the bar so we could watch them pull the noodles and see inside the kitchen. I thought it was a cool experience. The broth is kind similar in both plates, very tasty and well balanced. I can tell they stew their broth for a long time w great ingredients. The portion was very big and you can even get free refills of noodle but I doubt you will bc I couldnt finish even half of it. Very good traditional noodles made in-house, in fact you can see the chefs inside the kitchen not only cooking your food but even making the actual noodles. Getting here early was easy to accommodate seating for our party. Same for if you wanted to accommodate a party of 6. Most tables are for 4, with a handful of 2 seats and bar seating in the back. Inside is bright and clean and it was nice that the AC kept the place cold while eating hot soup. Food wise I had the standard beef noodle soup with hand pulled noodles. Husby had the spicy version. Saw that they did noodle refills for rice or ramen noodles, but the noodle portion was great! Broth was spicy, deep flavor profile and although I chose the standard beef there was a nice welcome of spicy oil. The spicy broth was definitely more seasoned. There is additional spicy oil and vinegar on the table. Service was great, everyone was nice and a server set up the booster seat for us. They even brought out extra bowl for our toddler. Plenty of other Asian families also dining. You can see the chef making the noodles. Menu was easy to read lots of pictures. Bathroom clean, no changing table but yes to Ada bars. Been meaning to come here since they opened. I'm glad we've finally made it. The freshly made noodles were definitely delicious. The textures were bouncy and chewy. Their broths are refreshing, not very flavorful tho. The beef are not salty which is great but also lacking in seasoning, but very tender. Non of us got pork of any kind so we definitely have to try the Dan Dan noodle and tonkatsu ramen next time. Their service is very good, they pay attention to refilling water, and are pretty nice. They can seat about 60 people max in one go, including 'bar' seats. We tried couple of their fruit drinks, green grape fruit tea and mango sago, we really enjoyed the green grape with jasmine tea, the mango sago wasn't what we expected but wasn't bad, just not as mango flavor then as coconut flavor. Non of us was able to do the free refill on noodles, either we were already way too full or couldn't even finish the original amount. They really do give you a great portions of noodle. She substituted the green beans with cucumber salad because we were told the green beans were spicy. The Dan Dan was spicy about medium heat so be careful of your tolerance. The braised beef boneless ribs were very tender to me, and they gave a lot of meat in it. You can also ask for thicker noodles if you get the hand-pulled noodles, and they allow you to get refills on noodles also! I also got the fried dough sticks with soy milk combo. I think it's really worth it since the fried dough sticks are so big, and they taste great being dipped in the soup (and soy milk). The soy milk isn't sweetened but they ask if you would like some sugar to add. The dough sticks are freshly fried and they're very crunchy. The combo sets look very affordable and I would definitely come back to try them out some time There are counter seats and table seats at the restaurant.
