My mother went to pick up her meds with 12 minutes left before closing time, stood in line and a worker got in front of her and told her it was to late to pick up prescription since they were about to close. I've been to many Walgreens pharmacies over the years, including ones outside of CA but this Walgreens is hands down the worst one I have ever seen. In fact, all the Walgreens to which I have been, have all been good. This one store is out of the ordinary. I had what I thought was an easy order to fill at the pharmacy. And it should have been. But I had to go back 3 times to finally get my order filled. There was no excuse. Just incompetence. To make matters worse, the time to get an order filled can easily be hours at this pharmacy. Never been to a Walgreens pharmacy that has taken that kind of time to get orders filled. My suggestion is to go to any other Walgreens for your pharmacy needs because despite the fact that people have been complaining about this store for years, it has yet to have made any difference to corporate. Upon reading other reviews, we all have the same in common: PHARMACIST SUCKS! and They dont like to give out manager's name and contact. Don't be so secretive about your manager's information. It is public. go to the front of the store and I can get that name and phone #. better yet, call the corporate and get it. After one simple corporate compliant, store manager's call and apology. I am still UNEASE about the whole situation. yes I still have the video of that night when you called the cops on me for refusing to sell me medicine because your RUBE and LAZY pharmacist didn't want to answer ONE question. and snotty attitude from a young cashier "can't ring you up until i talked to my manager" well guess what B**** your manager called me and apologized for your unacceptable behavior. The cops told me to seek legal action and and talk to my attorney. He even said it was petty for you guys to do that but since the manager was not on site, he had to follow the instruction of the "agent at the time" aka the pharmacist of the store. The pharmacist is A FAT, OLD, Caucasian lady, who took advantage b/s of my Chinese accent. Told the cops that I need to grow up because I can't everything my way. Guess what? I am 30 years old. I have 2 BAs and 1 Master, and I DEMAND EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you are not willing to give that to your customers, step down from your job! go work in the warehouse where you can have a ugly long face all day. The pharmacist told the cops I was banned from the store, the manager called, apologized and unbanned me LOL its a total joke. Wont be going there anyways, so keep me on the ban list, next time you see me, you will be SERVED! I work in the legal field, so having a pro-bono suit is no problem. TRY ME! PHARMACY:. This pharmacy was DISGUSTING!!! Asian pharmacist was NOT a communicator, nor was he clean. There was a tall handsome white guy who was clean, professional, and had a positive attitude. The other pharmacists had FILTHY SCRUBS, and there was complete chaos. People including myself waited over an hour. HORRIBLE, DON'T GO THERE. Trust me..... Medication mix-ups, long pharmacy lines, too small parking lot, scary after dark (lots of people just hanging around, looks pretty shady), among other things. Customer service is becoming a lost art. The photo counter people at the concord walgreens barely glaced at me when I walked up to the counter and tossed my pictures at me after she found them. After this transaction Iasked for help from one of the managers for help in getting a locked ink cartridge. He gruffly told me to pay for it first before he would take it out of the case. I showed him my cash and he immediately took it out of the case to scan the item. Don't customers come 1st anymore?? read more

i don't know why I continue to get prescriptions at this store. Well, yes I do...they have my prescription, that's why. It's like being held hostage. I am actually going to the Clayton Store from now on. I called them again today. The first thing that happened is that I was immediately put on hold when the phone was picked up. I wasn't even greeted. I heard the received lift and click and then I heard the recording of elevator music. Every two or three minutes, the music stopped, the phone rang and I heard that familiar two clicks and the elevator music began again. Obviously the person didn't want to do their job, so they kept putting me on hold, hoping that I would go away. This thought was reinforced when the "man" on the phone gave me several stories. first, he said that I wasn't in their system. I have been going to Walgreen's all around the United States for almost a decade. I have also been going to THAT Walgreen's for nearly 6 years. After I we figured out that i was in the system, he decided that I have never filled that prescription before and only one medication from 5 years ago was in the system. After we figured out that I did have multiple medications on file, he decided that my insurance had expired and that I couldn't refill my prescription with them. When I asked him to explain what he meant, he started SLLLOOOOWWWLLLYYY reading off my name, my address, my phone number and word....by......word..... slowly.... explaining that I didn't have a prescription there. Then he stuttered and changed to the insurance excuse and said he couldn't fill my prescription. I quickly hung up and called the store in Clayton, where a well trained, courteous, completely capable Pharmacy Assistant told me that I was in the system, I had that medication on file, that The insurance issue was a normal thing for the first couple of months of the year. She explained that insurance policy numbers often change without the policy holder's knowledge and that she would call and get the new number and have my prescription for me soon. She informed me that if she had any problems she would be calling me back. PERFECT! Thank you to the Clayton Walgreen's. The corporate office should just completely level the Concord store and fire everyone in it. They are unprofessional, rude, inept, insufficiently trained people that don't deserve to have jobs, especially in an economy where good people actually WANT to do a job. If you can ever possibly help it, don't go to this store. There is a store located at 5437 Clayton Rd,Clayton, CA 94517. You should drive to that one. It's a few minutes out of the way but much much better service. read more

THIS PHARMACY IS POORLY MANAGED, DO NOT GO THERE UNLESS YOU LOVE LONG WAITS FOR NO GOOD REASON There is a very good reason why this pharmacy has only 2 stars on Yelp. I went there to get a refill, and there was no line, only one customer being served at the counter, so I thought great, this should go quickly. Wrong! I had to wait almost 20 minutes. Apparently the situation with the customer at the counter was much too confusing for the big Asian guy trying to help her (no effort at all was made to get a 2nd worker to open another register even though there were at least 2 other workers back there who could've gotten on a register to help us get our meds), he kept pausing and staring at the screen with a blank stare for long intervals and asking his coworkers what to do, but I guess they didn't know either, so at that point instead of consulting with his manager he basically chose to do nothing. The manager must've been out on a smoke break or something, she finally came back 17 or 18 minutes later and finally sorted out whatever that problem was. But this should have come to her attention MUCH sooner than it did. If something like this happens a reasonably intelligent pharmacy manager should encourage their employees to text or call them and ask for help rather than doing absolutely nothing and making customers wait for an unreasonable amount of time due to an employee's lack of proper training. There is a concept this Walgreens pharmacy is completely unaware of which would help them understand this; it's commonly known as "customer service" - the Walgreens pharmacy in it's entirety should look it up and learn it! read more

I received a call form the store manager as I complained about this to the corporate office and was told "that's not what I heard happened". So much for the customer is always right I suppose. The Concord pharmacy needs serious organization and better management. Today I asked to have one prescription transferred from a SF Walgreen's to Concord. The counter person said no even though I have done this before. The pharmacist said it was ok. The counter person was not happy about having to call the SF pharmacy, but she said the call would be made right away and that I was to "have a seat" to wait for 30 minutes. I politely declined the seat and said I would return two hours later. When I returned, Concord claimed that they were just now calling SF to get the ok (not true). "Take a seat." I called the SF pharmacy and found that the transfer was arranged hours ago. I gave Concord this information. Their answer? "Take a seat!" Last time I will ever set foot in this Walgreen's. Wow, this Walgreens pharmacy gets a lot of bad reviews. But I owe you a good review. We were visiting the area from out-of-town and needed a prescription. So we had our doctor phone it in to the Walgreens on Concord Ave. It got phoned in on a Sunday morning and I went by to pick it up at about 10:00 AM. There was one customer in line ahead of me and he did not take long. Then, the clerk made one very short phone call and I got my turn. Pickup of my prescription was quick and easy. The clerk was quick, efficient and very polite. I am a happy customer. read more

The WORST service EVER AT THE pharmacy. AGAIN. I was just released from the hospital and my husband went to fill medications. Original wait time, 2 hours. They LOST my paperwork and it took 3 hours to fill. Te check apparently FORGOT about it and never entered it in to the system. You'd think they would fill it ASAP after this but NO...husband had to wait another hour. Meanwhile I'm home waiting with small children. Hospital said if I got sick again, I'd have to be admitted. Without meds for almost 4 hours. Are you kidding me???? I'll be calling the store manager and lead pharmacist tomorrow. read more

The look and feel of this Walgreens location is very similar to most others around, the only thing that separates them from the numerous others I've visited is the customer service. I asked two different employees questions and they both were able to answer them, unlike others at different locations who just walk around lost. I rated this location 3 stars because they don't seem to know how to properly order or stock inventory, I stopped by for 4 everyday items and was only able to locate one and it wasn't even stocked in the correct place or at the correct price. read more

I star is too good for this hellish place! The pharmacist told me she could not fill my prescription after saying hang on one moment. This place is a nightmare no one should ever experience. Your pharmacy needs to be retrained with basic customer service skills. I took my prescription somewhere else and only had to wait 20 minutes with no nasty attitude. Fix your bathroom. read more

I'm guessing that the people that got bad service haven't heard about the recession phase all of life has right now. I have had mostly good experiences at this store but with the cuts all companies are making I'm shocked that I still get to get some kind of help when its obvious people want to have their hands held. The ladies at the Photo counter are very knowledgeable and when the manager are not running around like chickens with no heads they can be pleasant too. I have never been so displeased with a company in my entire life. Not only was there issues at the store level, the "customer relations" department was utterly useless. They have made is absurdly obvious they do not care about their customers well being at all. They have enough customers, what does it matter to them if they lose another. When I called "customer relations" to talk about the store issue, I was not listened to and told that senior management would contact me... one month later, four times contacting them and STILL no contact from "senior management". Finally I asked who senior management is, IT IS THE STORE MANAGEMENT!!! Apparently they are accountable to no one. So happy to take my business to Target. read more

Last night we were in the store to fill an prescription after an ER visit. We noticed this woman in a brown vest behaving strangely and thought she was a customer on drugs. As we continued to wander around the store while we killed time for the RX to be ready, we noticed her shouting several times as she walked through the store calling peoples names. Again, we just thought she was a mentally ill woman. As we pick up our RX and prepare to leave, we hear all this banging, shouting, and cussing in the direct aisle next to the one we are walking down. We start laughing because it was so insane all the things being said. As we come around the corner, this woman in the brown vest kicks, yes kicks a box...about 24X24 inches in size down the aisle. We are stunned and pause. We look at her, she looks at us, and she runs off. No apology, no anything. We get up to the cashier, who is shaking her head, the woman is clear still in the back of the store screaming "Ivan" that we can hear at the front register and we wait our turn. We get to our cashier and the first words from her were an apology and then another We should not have to hear "I am so, so sorry." from your cashier. We ask for the woman's name...we were told Karen. I asked to speak with the manager, I was told she was the Assistant Manager. So, no, I am not going to discuss her erratic and rude, disrespectful behavior. We were told that she was a "little stressed" because the District Manager was coming today (5/12/15). I don't care if the President of the USA is coming...she was completely out of control and this should all be on your video system. I don't appreciate coming into a store, listening to the insane ramblings and banging of merchandise, the throwing of items from the store's management, and then have a box kicked at us (not personally, but down almost the full aisle to us) and then running off screaming another staff persons name without an apology. We truly thought she was a mental health patient and we were waiting for your management or security to remove her from the property. We don't have a choice until the end of the year of what pharmacy we can use, but if these are the types of persons you have employed...who cuss, repeatedly shout across the store and kick things around and at their customers, we will be moving to CVS. read more

This place is really busy so if you have her have to pick up a prescription make sure you go at least 30-45 minutes before you have to do something. I totally understand that but my problem is the customer service. I went very early pick up my prescription always anticipating an issue. I get there and one of my prescriptions can't be filled because I need an OK by my insurance provider/dr. The guy behind the register tells me that they can call so I say OK and then carry-on with the rest my day the next morning I call back and she says it's not ready I need to be approved call back later this was at 9 AM. So I call back before work at 1:30 and she says it's send in but still "waiting this thing could take a long time"In the meantime I'm thinking in my head can I call my Doctor No one tells me any other option and I need this prescription. This morning I call at 9:05 and he said we have to check in with your insurance/doctor waiting for them and I was like this is ridiculous I'm on my last dose of meds can I just call the doctor and be proactive? he's like oh yeah actually that's really the what you need to be doing and I was like why didn't anyone tell me that like two days ago?! Wouldn't be stressed about time or my meds. Sometimes I'm like just this little thing can set my day off in the wrong direction and you're dealing with people who have anxiety and other disorders, just that extra thought goes a long way. Now I have to find a way to regroup and do this myself. read more

Oh. My. God. This was my first and last time setting foot in this Walgreens. A woman was being harassed by an employee and was accused of stealing and over the counter medication. After that situation was handled, even the manager told her to take it up with higher management because that employees behavior was unacceptable. When I was leaving, the prescription meds I just picked up made the sensor go off. Why even do my prescription meds have a sensor on them!? Rude employee grabbed the bag from my hand and made me walk through the sensor again. If your security isn't up to par it isn't fair to customers who don't steal for you to act like they do. read more

I came in with my children to print pictures and pick up some items. A manager very nicely assisted me with photo machines. After ordering photos we shopped for a bit and then returned to photo counter. The man said he could not give me my photos due to them being professional shots. I told him I had purchased the CD from the company and had the copyright release on the CD. I started to insert the CD as he instructed to show him as a woman came barging in the conversation. She started bluntly saying no, has to be printed on paper. I said can I print a photo of it and pay, she continued to say no. Then the machine broke while the CD was in there. I said I would wait for it to reboot and show her and she continued to be rude and talk over me. I asked why the manager hadn't told me of this "paper printed release policy' while she helped me and could you believe she told me, a customer, " What manager?? Oh she is new. She doesn't know anything. I've been here for 20 years" I asked to talk to the manager and she said she would not get her for me. Said she wont know anything and only she knows the rules of the store. The employees name was Maria and the manager she was speaking about is Asia (Not sure on spelling...only know her name because clerk on checkout after this event was nice enough to tell me) What kind of employee belittles her manager in front of customers? I told the rude Maria they can eat the cost of paper my photos were printed on and I proceeded to go up front to pay for my items. I had the cashier page the manager and I spoke with her in regards to how her peer had talked about her. I told her I worked for Longs for 12 years and then a year when CVS bought them out. I personally refuse to shop there now because I saw first hand how they treat their employees. I know use Walgreens and Rite Aid. Well Maria was enough for me to never want to step foot in this Walgreens again and also leave a bad taste in my mouth about visiting other locations. Its sad because I have a newly developed Walgreens closer to home and so far everyone there has been amazing. As far as the photo policy, I am aware of showing proof of copyright release. I worked in the photo dept for 10 years. However her refusal to let me purchase a print of it on photo paper instead of the requested "printed on paper from home" request is down right ridiculous. I feel bad for the new manager of the store and I hope Maria does not belittle her coworkers all the time. I feel that Maria needs to be addressed on her actions. If I could give a negative rating I would! The service in this Walgreens Pharmacy is terrible! There is an employee named Lilly who is the rudest pharmacy employee on this planet! She has no concept of customer service and is argumentative to boot! I had an issue with my prescription and simply asked her to run my information again to see if the issue was resolved and she accused me of being rude and questioning her ability to do her job?? She is extremely unreasonable and comes off as if she hates her Life and Job! This person should not be answering the phones and should not be employed in a customer service position. They should put her in the back by the loading gates so she can deal with the truck drivers that drop off the inventory. That seems to be a good fit for her personality! read more
