I wish I could give this pharmacy zero stars. Sadly, just a few months ago, it would have been five stars. This used to be a great store from rxs to products. But now it has become messy, poor stocking of products, and the pharmacy is a huge disappointment. The phone system is useless for customers. It, too, used to be helpful. This review focuses on the pharmacy. They use to have the best pharmacy around. I have had all my rxs filled at this pharmacy since 2002. Because of the disrespect, less experienced pharmacists, the current gstapo-like manager, and the over handed Corporate policies and processs imposed on what used to be the best, I hope to never ever have to walk into this pharmacy again. The current pharmacy manager, B. Aghighi is one of the -- if not THE most insensitive and mean -- spirited people I have ever encountered. An example of a half-baked corporate process is what they call a "fast pass" line for the pharmacy. None of the pharmacists seem to know how one can get it. I tried to look into it online and customers have to provide extensive personal and private information for such a "pass". Since I don't have that "pass", I was standing in the long line for 45 minutes, as they would help only "fast pass" people. I learned that some in the long line had relinquished their private information to get a "fast pass", but it never worked. So they, too, stood for 45 minutes. I also noticed that most who had to wait 45 minutes or longer were elderly and handicapped. Yet, the pharmacy never once tried to help anyone -- didn't even offer them chairs. The current pharmacy manager, B. Aghighi, is mean and disrespectful to both doctors and customers. This person won't even let pharmastists take the time to process new insurance information. I have been told by my doctor that he won't work with this pharmacy again because of the rude and disrespectful manager. Now I have to find another one. I know that most pharmacies are substandard these days and that we all have limited options.This pharmacy's demise happened quickly. read more

Living in Downtown Danville, I have a choice of either Long's or Walgreen's for my quick pharmacy needs, and various other sundries. I have been coming to this location for a few months on and off and today, was here twice. Once to pick up prescriptions and back again to pick up some photos my daughter needed for a poster for 6th grade. We were also able to pick up some decorations for her locker, some poster board and refrained from even looking at the Halloween stuff that is starting to pop up. The nice thing about Walgreen's is they are all linked so insurance information only has to be entered once. read more

Dennis, the pharmacist is the reason I come here ;) Whoo hoo- he is super friendly, remembers you, chats and takes time to explain the meds. Unlike other places, they treat you like a number and want you out the door so they can ring up the next customer. Dennis is very welcoming and cares about his customers. He's also knowledgable about vitamins and supplements. I'm sure other pharmacists are took, but will they take time to show you different brands and explain the benefits? I'm getting my prescriptions filled here from now on...and of course, all the merchandise are a great deal too...time to visit Dennis and the gang again. read more

This is such a horrible pharmacy. My first time filling a prescription with Walgreens and I won't be coming back again. It took 10 mins in line, 10 mins to find out if they have a drug, 5 mins to register and then another 15 mins to fill.....all while my poor husband is in the car with kidney stones waiting for this medication. The staff acts like they are so busy but absolutely nobody here waiting, 4 people working. How long does it take to scan insurance information and count pills? This is insane. Right when I thought that's CVS was bad with their wait times and long receipts, Walgreens just tops them by a long shot. Give me the pills, I'll count them because nobody seems to be doing anything at all behind the counter to help the one and only customer that is here and had stated the reason for the rush. The old lady who worked at the front cash register was very cranky and rude! No wonder there wasn't anyone else in the store.

I can't stand stores that post sale prices, then you get to the register and they inform you it's for "rewards card holders" only. Hey Walgreen's, "I don't want your rewards card and I will not be shopping at your lousy stores again." Especially annoying was low-energy cashier guy who did not offer an alternative to their overpriced AA battery 4-pack. You got my $7 this time, but you've lost me as a customer and that extra $3 you robbed me of was the deal breaker - never again! (Review is of the pharmacy only) THIS PHARMACY ALWAYS TAKES FOREVER! Unfortunately I have to go to a Walgreens to get certain generic brand medication they usually carry and CVS or the other pharmacies in the area don't usually carry. That being said, it seems like everytime I come to this Walgreens, something ALWAYS goes wrong and the end up taking for frickin EVER! I even go so far as to call ahead of time to make sure they have the meds in stock before I get down there. Somehow, someway they always manage to find a way to make me wait an hour. For instance - today (I'm actually sitting in their parking lot right now writing this review) I go through the whole rigmarole, the guy tells me it's going to take a bit and my scrip will be ready in about 30, at most 40 min (I was hoping 15-30 like every other pharmacy), but I said "alright, but it won't take longer than that right?" He said no, it shouldn't. Right after I left I thought of a quick question I had about my prescription, so I called back and he said - "oh...good thing u called, it turns out the pharmacist actually has to do an inoculation now so it's not going to be ready until AROUND 7:30 pm" (it was just before 6:40 pm) So I asked if it would definitely be ready by 7:30 he said "well give or take...like 5 or 10 min". The reason this really pisses me off is because I specifically asked him this, and if he had told me it would take an hour I would've gone to the other Walgreens in San Ramon. Just to check and see - I called the other Walgreens (in San Ramon) just after that, they said their wait time was 15 min. Well, look at the bright side...it gave me the time to write this review :) - but I also could've done it if I only had to wait 15-30 min! read more

Not the best of stores and I wish I still had the alternative of the other Danville store. This morning the manager berated one employee to another and both, loudly, in front of customers. That's a basic management mistake and I don't wonder if the employees dislike her. As a customer, I do. I will find alternate places to do business whenever I can. read more

This Walgreens is OK. It is clean enough and safe enough to shop at. The only reason I come here though is for photos because it's the most convenient spot for me. Whenever I go here it is after work, there is one uninterested checker and no one at the photos. After standing at the photo counter for a bit, in view of the checker, I inevitably have to walk over and ask for them to call someone over. The experience of shopping here is meh. It works, but there isn't a lot of things I want or good customer service to bring me back. read more

My go to snack stop in Danville. I pick here over the liquor store two doors down because they don't have a minimum purchase of $10 when using a card. They seem to always be low in the refridgerators and not a big selction of stuff to choose from. That goes for their snacks (ie chips cookies etc). Wish their checkers would check aggressively.. I feel like when theres a longer line there is no urgency to ring up customers faster. Other than that this place does the job, just wish they had more selection and/or frequently stocked. read more

09/07/2021 - I went to pick up photos and also pick up some medication for my child. I went to the register and said I am here to pick up some photos and also wanted to pay for the medication. The clerk asked me to go to the photo section and pick the photos and also told me that I would be able to pay for the medication over there at the photo section since they have a register there as well. The clerk at the photo section rang me for the photos but refused to ring me up for the medication and said that the front register should ring it up. All I wanted was someone to help me out and the store did not have any coordination between their own employees. Remember, I am the one paying for the stuff and the behavior of the photo section clerk was rude. Where has the customer service gone these days? Danville Walgreens - you have to learn to respect and serve the customer above anything else which is what they pay you for. read more

I waited in line as the grey-haired cashier argued with a customer who had apparently been overcharged. It was painful to watch. I was interested in the exchange as this cashier had tried to overcharge me once before as well. The line grew longer and longer as we all waited and watched. Each time the customer tried to help her straighten it out or say anything, the cashier told her not to be rude. It was the cashier who was rude. The customer appeared understandably frustrated. I can't be sure but I got the idea that the customer never got back the money she claimed to be owed. She appeared to just give up and leave. Looking at the Yelp rating for this store, it seems they have real problems. read more

Ridiculous! I was using a debit card with a MasterCard logo and it said "not authorized" when I inserted the chip. I just used this card at McCaulous's and had no problem. The Filipino clerk said "I can not do anything!" He probably knew how to fix the problem but just lazy. Maybe it was for the best to use cash or they might end up stealing your information. read more

Thank you for this place. I was picking up a prescription for my mother and the pharmacist called me to the back to speak about the prescription. Apparently the new medication prescribed to my mom would have been potentially harmful if my mom was taking her previous medication. She had not been instructed this from the doctor and was a relief that someone was doing their job here!!! Great pharmacists here! Highly reccomend!! read more

i try to give this store chances, but every time i walk in.. i walk out frustrated. one of the past times i was in the store the male cashier refused to offer me a bag for my merchandise because i did not decide to donate that day. the last straw was a cashier telling me i was using my card in the card reader wrong? grabbing MY card out of MY hand and telling me my card wasn't a tap card (obviously it's my card so i'm very aware it's a tap card) subsequently laughing at me and face palming behind the counter. i gave up playing games with this person, grabbed my card back and left the store without my merchandise. went to the cvs across the street and had an easy and time efficient experience. got back to my car and decided to call walgreens about the matter because that was just disgusting behavior on the walgreens store employee's part. talked to two people on the phone, told me they would talk to this employee and they were appreciative of my call. just a very frustrating experience for me and not a good look for them. do yourself a favor and just visit the cvs across the street. read more

Used yo go to CVS for my prescriptions. Now that I have changed to Walgeeens in Danville I am so so happy and only regret I waited so long in doing it. The pharmacy and the employees there are so helpful. They get to know you and are very professional and caring. My son requires many medications and I rarely have to wait on any long lines. They all are wonderful and patient when I had any questions or concerns about the medicine he was taking. They were so knowledgeable. read more

Wait times for the pharmacy at Walgreens in Danville, CA have grown longer and longer. Just got back from waiting for 25 minutes only to be told my prescription was not ready. This was 2 hours later than when I was told it would be ready. The store is very convenient for me, but service has become so bad I am leaving. Am hoping CVS mail order works better. read more

This pharmacy that is horrible in the best of times is losing their grip now that we need them more than ever. They can't handle their business. Long wait lines. Kept getting cut off each time I called. On third try, got to the point where I got a recording that repeated every few seconds that someone will be with me. After 23 mins, someone answered, asking me to hold and before waiting for an answer, I was put back on hold. Several mins later, phone began ringing. Eventually music started again, and kept going until I eventually hung up. I guess that was their goal all along. We need businesses to open that are competent so that when the going gets tough, they can deal with it. These people at Walgreen's pharmacy are all about protecting & pumping up their egos. They couldn't care less about customers. They are often unqualified for their jobs, especially the little girls who work at the counter. They must only hire the dumbest of the dumbest. read more

High time they should hire some competent managers unlike their current manager VICHY CHOU. I had an online return which nobody in the store including this manager knew how to take back. She could not accept that she being the manager did not know a simple process of doing an online return. Asked me for my drivers license (supposedly only for verification purposes) and started doing it as NO RECEIPT return. On my questioning her that it is unfair to do it that way when you have the product with a receipt ( my information on it) and my ID with you and still taking it as a no receipt return. To my surprise, instead of apologizing for her incompetency, she had the guts to ask me if I was lying about something and that I should not be objecting to it if I had nothing to hide. Seriously, I am hiding or lying about something and you with core incompetency and disgusting customer service skills have the right to humiliate customers by calling them liars. I complained about my terrible experience and was told that the district manager would get back to me in two days. Its been two months since anybody cared to call me . If I could post negative stars, I would. My ridiculous experience with the on duty manager is too long to leave on yelp. It all started with a return. I think his name is Harry. ( I asked him to write his name down on my receipt so that I can make a formal complaint about him, but it's hard to read). I asked him to please write the girl's name who was standing right next to him while I was being treated so rudely. He refused and stated "she's just a cashier". I told him I need her name because she is a witness to what happened. He then said "witness's work both ways, don't they". I walked over to the photo area where she was at this point to ask her her name. Before she could write it down, Harry came up to me and said loudly "If you don't stop harassing our employees, I'm going to have to call the police". WOW, I have never felt so threatened and insulted in my life! I think there was a little of a power trip going on. The girl verbally told me her name, and here I am. Oh yea, he walked to close to me as I was walking out, I could practically feel his breath on my neck. He topped himself off with the lack of professionalism as he loudly said "Thank you for shopping at Walgreens." to me. After I got home, I looked at my receipts and saw that Harry was wrong about how many days had passed since I had bought the items that I was returning. I had paid cash on 12/10 and was returning a couple of USB's on 1/6. I assumed he was right when he made a big stink about it being after 30 days. He even referenced later into my ridiculous experience, a sign across from him that states the return policy. I don't even know what to do next. I was so humiliated when he treated me that way in front of several customers. read more

This is a very poorly run location that seems to not understand basic pharmacy operation. Horrible experience.

This pharmacy never seems to have it together, and I've never been able to pick up every items in a prescription renewal in one trip. Don't trust them to contact the doctor for refills either, whether they do seems hit and miss. I left this Walgreens for the (now closed) one on Diablo two years ago, and it doesn't seem to have improved in the time I was happily using the other store. If it has to be Walgreen's, try Walnut Creek instead. read more

What many of these people with their "one star" reviews don't understand is, this Walgreens pharmacy has gotten over 50% busier over the last year and a half. It now has twice the volume of patients and prescriptions than it did one year ago. The staff members do their best with what they are given by corporate!! You are not behind the counter. You have no idea just how much these pharmacy employees are running around every single day just to try to keep up with the work load. And on top of the work load, try to keep every customer happy. Especially when one is mad they wait 10 minutes in line and come up to register treating the staff members like garbage. Next time- just remember that these staff members ARE PEOPLE TOO. They are just employees, very far down on the chain of command on this corporate show. They have absolutely NO control over the hours given to them, or the help received by corporate. So before you go cursing one of them out or yelling, take a step back. They are doing the best they can and yelling at them will not do anything besides hurt them and make yourself feel better about your life. read more
