As someone who used to struggle with cystic acne, one pimple isn't usually a big deal anymore (thankfully acne hasn't been an issue for me the last few years). But I'm heading to the East Coast to meet some family members for the first time (tomorrow) and I was feeling very self-conscious. Mary Grace took me in even though I didn't realize they were actually closed today Life has been a roller coaster these last couple of months, and I've been doing my best to keep my head high. Summary: I regret…read morechoosing Dr Ku to perform my tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) and two separate arm lifts (bracheoplasty). I definitely don't recommend Dr Ku for those procedures. I'm unhappy with the results, detailed below. Details: First in 2022, I had a tummy tuck and an arm lift, both during the same surgery. Tummy Tuck Results: The left and right sides of my stomach didn't match. The stitches were tighter on the left end of the incision, creating a muffin-top effect only on that side. Arm Lift Results: My arms didn't match either. My left arm was itself unevenly proportioned, and it was larger than the right arm. (See photos) At post-op visits, I mentioned these concerns. Dr. Ku repeatedly responded by saying "the body is not naturally symmetrical". I felt like I was being dismissed. In my opinion, it's fair to expect matching arms after plastic surgery. If I were getting breast augmentation, I would absolutely expect my left and right breasts to reasonably match. I expected my arms to reasonably match. About a year later, I paid Dr Ku for a revision surgery. I had another arm lift. And I had abdominal liposuction to blend and smooth things out. The results: My arms still don't match. Also, the second surgery created a new fold on the back of my left arm near the armpit. Dr. Ku said the section had been "over-tightened". (See photo) Worst of all, now I have a very noticeable dog ear on my right elbow. A dog ear is an excess of skin and fatty tissue that pokes out at the end of the stitches. It's very embarrassing to me, I feel like it calls more attention to the scar. (See photos) Dr Ku said that in order to correct the dog ear, he will have to extend the scar further down past my elbow. So that would mean no chance of hiding the scar under short sleeves, which is very upsetting. First, he estimated that he could do the dog ear correction under a local anesthetic for a "few hundred". Later, after he saw the fold on my other arm, he said it would be fully another revision surgery. Well, I just couldn't afford a third surgery at that time. Call me crazy, but I had not anticipated needing two revision surgeries. I asked for an extension on his revision price policy, but Dr Ku said no. I could not understand the issue with giving me more time. We were already two years into this. I had been very patient with him! And I had tried so hard to stay positive! The whole situation felt very unfair to me at that point. I realized it was a bad idea to consider a third surgery with Dr. Ku. I was just blinded by the revision price. Fast forward to now: I seriously regret the arm lifts. Now, my arms are scarred, plus they don't match. I've been wearing long sleeves for three years, even in triple degree summer heat waves. I'm just so embarrassed. And I don't even know when I can afford another surgeon. I wasted so much money, time, risk, stress. Don't risk throwing away your dream surgery. Just choose another surgeon. Two stars because the staff is great, and the facility is nice. I felt safe having surgery there.

It's $300 for underarms there for 5 sessions meanwhile Serene was around $80 for 6 SESSIONS! I also got Brazilian done for 6 sessions as well, $170! The staff at Serene are so welcoming and so so sooo sweet. I have thick Asian hair that grows fast. I used to have to shave twice a day. My hair would grow back within hours. Going to music festivals and the beach was such a nightmare since I'd feel insecure of my hair growing back even after shaving. I saw improvements after my first session only. I went from shaving daily to BIWEEKLY! Even after 2 weeks there wasn't even much to shave. I am so happy with my decision to get laser at Serene. On top of laser they do offer other services such as Keloid shots. I had a bad infection on my shoulder earlier this year which resulted in a keloid scar on my shoulder that bothered me. For $80 per shot I was surprised with my results in just one session too! My scar is now significantly more flat by at least 60%. Irene is so knowledgable and fun to talk to. She always makes sure I feel safe and comfortable and overall just makes me visits even better.

Update: Since my original review, the situation has escalated significantly. I requested my medical…read morerecords on April 2, 2026, and despite multiple follow-ups, they were never provided. I was told they would be uploaded to my Symplast portal, which never happened. Because of this delay, I was forced to undergo emergency surgery without access to my own medical records; something that should never happen and could have had serious consequences. To make matters worse, the doctor's office has continued to refuse to provide my records, which is a direct violation of California Health and Safety Code §123110. Patients have a legal right to timely access their medical information, and that right was completely disregarded in my case. I have now filed a formal complaint with the Medical Board of California. This experience has been not only frustrating but alarming. Patients deserve transparency, timely access to their records, and a standard of care that prioritizes their safety. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
