For the pharmacy only: after waiting a ridiculously long time to pick up my child's medicine, the person behind the counter wanted to deny me said medication. My child has two last names and I gave him both of them. He said that's not what they had on file. After going back and forth, he agreed, with much attitude, to give me the medication. The name on the stapled receipt had both last names. Basic intelligence should be required when dealing with the public. read more

I bought a Xbox card for my significant other over sees, and the card is missing three denominations at the end. I looked closely at the card after my husband asked for the remaining 3 denominations, and the card is tampered. Smuged and cuts on the plastic and I can also see the number outlines of the missing numbers and letters. Quite frankly. what was suppose to be a happy surprise was an actual surprise! and to top it off the card has no 800 # . I need to go back to the marina California location first thing. My experience with their pharmacy was bad enough that I'm leaving my first yelp review and switching to CVS after putting up with rude staff and long wait times for several years. The staff member I spoke to yesterday was beyond rude and it was the last straw. Here's what happened! I've ordered my refill through the app 3 times, but the first two times it said delayed and then just disappeared - no contact or update on what happened. So I put it in the third time and then called. The guy who answered the phone was already in a mood and despite being on hold for 11 minutes, I was fine! I explained what happened and told him that I'm worried it'll happen this third time again, but I'm out of my medication and I need it daily. He said the medication is out of stock. I said I know, it is every time and that's fine, but it never came in and was just removed from prescriptions I've ordered. His response was that he has no record of that happening so I should just call tomorrow and check on the new order. I explained that that's my concern - tomorrow the same thing might happened and there won't be any record of it. Here's where he stopped being short and switched to an attitude on how is he supposed to do anything about it when he can't see anything in the system "MA'AM", there are no notes, why can't I just check back, etc. I explained that I didn't understand why he was so upset because I'm totally calm, not even mad! And he said he wasn't so I told him that it really wasn't necessary to be rude about it because I feel like he's not understanding. So I stupidly explained myself again, which left him exasperated and annoyed and told me again to call tomorrow. So I finally said okay, hopefully I talk to someone else tomorrow then and he said "Yep. Bye." LOL! Honestly, not the end of the world, but when you consistently deal with their rude staff and wait insane wait times, calling with a valid question and dealing with a cranky dude like you've inconvenienced HIM, I'm so over it. Walgreens pharmacy leadership - I'm sure you know who he is - he's been rude before and he's costing you customers. Please do something about it - people don't deserve to deal with his bad moods. read more

The pharmacy department here shouldn't even be allowed to operate. The original woman helping me was kind and courteous. But the pharm tech ... The woman explained to me that they don't accept my insurance. So I called my insurance, who had previously sent me to this location specifically said no, your prescription is covered there. Ask the pharmacist to call the number on this card. When I got back in line to explain to the woman, the pharm tech came over and threw a holier-than-thou attitude at me. I asked him to please call the insurance provider. Eye roll. Pen tapping the whole time. Throwing attitude at both me and the rep on the phone. The way he framed his inquiry was enough to have me never come back. "You DONT contract with us, right?" Like bro. Calm down. I was watching you play on your phone before you walked over here. ABSOLUTELY NASTY PEOPLE!!! If I could put 0 stars I would, but that's not an option. They would rather tell you no and lie that they don't have it, then have to do five minutes of work to get you your medication. I HAD TO FIGHT FOR MINE!!! I called 5 days ahead of time to get my prescription filled and to make sure they ordered the correct brand sense the brand they gave me as a substitute last time did not work (keep in mind I let the pharmacist know this, so they were aware of the reason why and aware that I could not have the other kind). I called this morning to see if it's ready and they tell me that they never bothered filling it because they didn't get the letter from my doctor that they needed to refill my prescription. I called my doctor and she did send it, but in case they didn't bother checking, she sent it again. There were about four more phone calls, and I finally was able to get it filled. I come in to pick it up and the pharmacist tells me that she will not give me my prescription because I don't have an ID card for Planned Parenthood. I have never had a card since I did all of my prescription through online appointment so I called Planned Parenthood and they said that that was not true. Seeing as most of the patients didn't have a physical card and the only thing that they would need was my ID number which I had and I let them know that I had but they didn't take it. Finally after spending an hour having to fight with the pharmacist while she's rolling, her eyes at me, lying telling me they didn't have my medication and she comes out with one box when it was supposed to be 13. I was so overwhelmed at this point from crying and my blood pressure being through the roof from literally having to fight with someone because they didn't want to do five minutes of work that I just left with one box. I had a covid test scheduled 9/17/21 @ 930am. I received a call at 9:15 am from Walgreens stating my appointment was canceled do to construction. I needed this test because I'm leaving for Hawaii in 72 hours. After them making me drive to the Walgreens in Salinas and still unable to test me I just wanted to say how very unprofessional Walgreens is and absolutely no customer service what so ever. Wish I had read Yelp reviews bedore switching to Walgreens in Marina. Due to limited hours - and apparently staffing - you will likely wait in line for 20 to 40 minutes while 1 clerk works the front window. In 5 visits since February they have screwed up my prescriptions 3 times. Told me my refill was not covered by insurance so after calling my insurance carrier I called them back to let them know they needed to submit the request under the name of the actual medication instead of some generic name and it would be approved. Not sure why they did not know this. They tell me it is ready so I go in to pick it up today and turns out they only had a partial (15%) in stock (why didn't they tell me that) and now I have to take my time and make another trip on Friday. I will be looking for another pharmacy!!! Going to search Yelp first. read more

This store has excellent customer service and a good selection of items where you can shop conveniently knowing that you are getting good solid products. Amber and Eli are both great to see. They have improved the merchandising that is very appealing and something new to the product line of Walgreens. Extremely unprofessional pharmacy staff. Waited in drive thru for 20 mins. No problem. Gave my name for prescription, handed over my new insurance card, answered all questions pertaining to birth date for my son to verify. Was told she needed to call my insurance to authorize but I would have to come back in 2 hours. She was going to lunch......are you kidding me. You don't stop in the middle of a transaction to go to lunch. I called my provider to make sure everything was correct. The call took 2mins and 20 seconds. I called to complain to the pharmacist and was told it was due to Ca. labor laws. The law doesn't state to stop at exactly 1:59.59 to go to lunch. With that logic should I expect that at 2:29.59 I should be getting my prescription filled....probably not. No more business for you Dick.....that's his name not a reflection on his demeanor. Had my prescription filled at the Seaside Walgreens. Very helpful. Prescription was filled within 2 hours of calling it in. I had an order for a prescription sent in for early December and it was still not ready come January nor did they communicate that it would be delayed, why it would be delayed, etc. They lack in communication and probably knowledge on the subject matter to be honest. I had them cancel my order and sent it to an ol' reliable CVS location instead. The pharmacist there called me almost immediately and let me know the status on my order in detail. Scheduled a COVID booster appointment using their website, for 1:30pm. I arrive and wait 10 minutes for the previous appointment to finish up, only to then be told that I would have to come back in an hour so that the pharmacy could close for their lunch break. Horrible horrible pharmacist! They do not care at all about patients. I was visiting from out of town and forgot my migraine pills. I messed up and called the pharmacy in Seaside to fill a prescription thinking it was the pharmacy in marina. We had scheduled a train ride in the redwoods for our kids and were planning on grabbing the pills on the way in hopes that my migraine would be gone by the time we made it to the train and I could enjoy the ride with my kids. When we discovered my mistake I apologized for calling the wrong pharmacy and asked if they could please just fill the prescription in marina. I explained the situation and told them we'll miss our train if I go to seaside. Being that it's only 9 pills, they are already prepackaged in a box, Walgreens is my pharmacy back home so they have all my info already, it would have taken him the matter of minutes to pull them off the shelf for me and ring me up. He refused. It literally takes them 5 min back home. He just kept repeating there is only two of them working today and he can't do it. No emotion, just matter of fact, dead pan face. I explained to him how much pain I'm in, again, no feeling, he can't possibly walk over to the shelf and grab the pills for me, it's just too hard today. The amount of time it took for my husband and then I to have this conversation with him when he was standing there, not attending to any other business, repeating that he couldn't possibly spare the time to grab a box off the shelf, he could have filled the prescription two times over. When I called the seaside location (thinking it was the marina location), he found me in the system within seconds and said it would be ready in 10 min. In fact, this guy in marina had already found my account in order to see if I had a prescription waiting there. Half of his job was already done. He literally just didn't want to walk back to the shelf and grab the pills. His first excuse was that "it's a process." When I asked what the process is, he couldn't answer and that's when he started saying there's only 2 of them today and he couldn't spare the time. I understand I made a mistake and called the wrong location, and I would have never asked if it was a prescription where they had to count out pills and bottle them up, etc. It's just the lack of compassion and feeling. It was evident he could care less if I was going to be in pain all day trying to fake it for my kids instead of being able to enjoy time with them. I just needed someone to have compassion today and say, I know you made a mistake but I can see you're in pain and I'll take 5 min to help you. He failed greatly. If you want a pharmacy that cares, I would look elsewhere. read more

My experience with the Marina Walgreens Pharmacy has been extremely frustrating. After several botched interactions, my last two experiences have sealed it for me. They included: a 55 minute telephone hold time (I am not exaggerating) only to have my issue unresolved once I finally was able to speak to someone; and today a 20 minute hold time to verify a prescription was ready for pick up where I was placed on hold, transferred 3 times and then hung up on. I went in stood in the long line to find my prescription was not ready. I have signed up for text notification but that system has failed as well. When asking about it, the staff said they "aren't sure how that works". I understand the pharmacy staff are very busy but the customer service at this location is terrible. I am always kind and accommodating, but I will be transferring to a different pharmacy. read more

They need more people in the department so that they are able to keep up with the long lines instead of having to constantly switch back and forth between the drive through window and the store counter. They said they put a clam on my insurance and they never got back to them for the price. So when I called my insurance, they said they said, THEY did not get a clam from Walgreens at all. Not sure if the employees are lying to cover their mistake or they are bunch of rookies. read more

The pharmacy itself is open from 9am until 9pm weekdays, and from 9 to 5 on weekends, while the store (and all other departments) are open from 8am to 10pm every day. (If you need a 24 hour pharmacy, go to Seaside.) Use the coupon book and ring up in cosmetics... they'll give you extra coupons (if you ask) and you can save a ton of money! read more

I was given a prescription from my doctor for some antibiotics for a severe sinus infection and I decided to take it to Walgreens because it's close to my home, I wish I didn't. I dropped it off at 7pm yesterday and was told I would be called when it was ready. Next morning I get no call or text, at this point it is 11 and my face is starting to swell up because of the infection. I tried to get a real person on the phone but I kept getting a voice machine or I was put on hold for over 20min. So I decided I'd physically go ask where my prescription is. I get there and explain the severity of my situation and even see the look of shock on the girls face when she seen my swollen face and ask if my prescription is ready. They tell me no it's not ready so I ask when will it be ? She heads to the back talks to whomever and then says "We will work on it now, it'll be ready in 30min" Are you serious?? Why wasn't it worked on when I first gave it to them?? Why NOW do they want to work on it. This infection is only getting worse without my medication. Is this how they treat everybody. read more

I have used 4 different pharmacies in the past 10 years and Walgreens in Marina is the best. At the other pharmacies they were always out of one of the meds I take so I had to wait up to a week to get it filled. And this med is one that I absolutely cannot miss even one dose. I have now been at Walgreens for about 6 months, maybe a little less, and my expectations were exceeded by leaps and bounds. Even with my first visit when I had everything transferred over in the morning ALL of my meds were ready to pick up that afternoon. I have never had wait to get my refills by more than one day. I have all but that one medication on auto refill so I never have a worry. The only drawback is the drive thru wait. I can usually drive up and no one is in line. But one time I waited in line for about 45 minutes. My turn at the window only took a few minutes and the person who helped me was so nice in spite of how busy they were. I've been coming to this Walgreen's for over 9 years now. I've never had a problem with any staff member or manager up until now. For some reason, Melanie who claims to be a manager, was so rude to me. The past few times I've dealt with her she was rude to me but I usually let it slide becauseI understandthey'rejustdoingtheir job. Tonight I used my ebt card, and other purchases are automatically separated when you pay. For some reason their card machine wasn't reading my card so I asked to pay separately. She got mad, huffed and said "ugh, well now I have to void it!" Like I did this on purpose?? I was trying to come to a solution because a line started to form. I said "I'm sorry, I'm not sure why it's not reading my card but maybe it would work if I just paid separately." That seemed to upset her a lot. I then asked her why she had to give me an attitude and she shouldn't treat customers this way. I asked for the manager and she literally screamed at me that she was the manager. She's only a shift team leader, I saw that on her name tag. I went to the pharmacy and they gave me the manager's name, btw the manager is always friendly and polite. I don't ever go this far, usually I just let it slide. But this woman has been nothing but rude to me every time I go there. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'll be calling Vicente (manager) tomorrow to let him know what happened. I just wanted to make this known in case anyone else has dealt with her and had the same treatment. Also, for people to be aware in the future. It's sad that she's one of the people representing our local store. Our community is usually much nicer to each other. read more

I made Covid testing appointments online for a trip I have to take so it was mandatory I do it within 72 hours. They called me an hour before my test to tell me they had unexpected construction in the parking lot which was a lie because they had planned paving in the parking lot and still made appointments. They canceled my appointment and then guaranteed me that if I went all the way out to Salinas 45 minutes away that they would take me there. The pharmacist name is Sonteal she guaranteed us if we drove out there we would get it. The Walgreens in Salinas turned us away and said they don't use the same laboratory so they couldn't test us. The people that work at Walgreens are very inconpentent. They wasted my time and my money and made me late for work because of their Miss information that they gave. I am very upset I would never recommend anyone to go to Walgreens in Marina or any Walgreens for that matter read more
