I stop by here for office supplies between dropping my kids off at school/daycare. Its conveniently located between my home, kids stuff and office. My usual go to's are poster boards and glue. They usually have a good selection of poster boards stocked. I was also on a Blu Cigarette kick and they usually had a good supply. Until one day they were completely out and the cashier told me there was some guy who would come in on the restocking day and buy them out every time. I stopped smoking those types so I dont come in as often any more. I like around Christmas time they have a nice selection of $1 items for stocking stuffers. Found friendly service to go with the low-prices yesterday. I cut a ton of fresh flowers from the gardens around my condo complex yesterday, then forgot them as I left home headed to the cemetery. Not wanting to arrive empty-handed, I stopped by this Walgreens location because it is the closest major store to Oakmont Memorial, where my sister was laid to rest. Yesterday was her birthday and I found a dozen beautiful, fresh roses for $10. The deer seem to like eating roses the best so I like to bring roses to her so that the deer will come visit at night. :) The girl at checkout was especially kind, especially when I told her what the flowers were for. Sometimes writing reviews on chain drugstores, ATMs, and corner groceries seem like filler, especially in the last situation when all I need to do is grab a beer out of the cooler, throw a few bucks down on the counter, and then go home (no brown paper bag drinking on the street for me) and write about the pour, the aftertaste, and the buzz (in under 3 minutes). In the case of any Walgreens, these are not destination locations, and I would imagine that "check ins" and pictures of the food are far and few between. Walgreens, CVS, London (a Canadian chain), etc. are the type of drugstore establishments that you take for granted, until you need something. In my case, that has included a last minute prescription, over-the-counter medications, forgotten toiletries, and miscellaneous food items. I have never needed anything past 11 PM, and if I did I would strike it up to bad planning rather some silly notion that the "Times Have Changed". This Pleasant Hill Walgreens is interesting for what used to be here (a pet supply store next to the previous Zio Fraedo's building) and that the spiffy looking outer shell reveals the same dense shopping adventure each member of the chain offers. It's also a convenient drive from home, and one of the preferred options when life throws you a surprise or two. read more

Sad to write this review but the pharmacy has really gone downhill in the last year. Refills for simple stuff submitted through the Walgreens app used to be reliably and promptly filled, but now regularly sit in limbo for days unless I go down and wait in line. Then they start actually filling it. The pharmacy also appears understaffed resulting in long waits. Since it seems almost every customer either has a complicated sob story or needs to have their insurance benefits explained to them in detail every time, a larger number of personnel would be indicated. read more

I was in Pleasant Hill for 4 days to visit my parents and we came to the pharmacy here EVERY DAY and their prescriptions were not ready. As I type this we are here for the fourth time after being told yesterday that it would be ready "in an hour" - over 24 hours later we are back and still waiting. I have seen them turn away multiple people in line as well telling them theirs aren't ready either. Unfortunate as I know they are trying their hardest behind the counter, either they are severely understaffed or understocked. Worth the drive to another location if your medication is time sensitive. As a note, if you are just coming for the regular (non pharmacy) part, it is big and clean and lots of seasonal stuff so that is not so bad. read more

This Walgreens is the absolute worst. The store is fine - the employees are helpful, it's well-stocked, and you can generally get in and out within five minutes. However, the pharmacy is completely mismanaged to the point that I don't really trust them to fill prescriptions correctly. It takes hours or even days to fill basic prescriptions. The line will be halfway down the aisle with only one person attending to it. Some of the people in the pharmacy lack basic communication skills. Avoid at all costs. read more

I am understanding and have low expectations about estimated processing times during the holidays so was not upset at all the order had not been completed yet. Pharmacist head had several meetings about ordering time for delivery for that drug manufacturer only 4 days including phone calls with head pharmacist to guarantee hospitalization wouldn't occur if unable to pickup my renewal as law requires that pharmacist must call 911 for ambulance to hospitalize Walgreens not able to order the pharmaceutical manufacturer because that head pharmacist failed to "listen" to customer upon several visits over 30 days prior to verify Rx could would be received from manufacturer and to correctly use computer system correctly failed both which costs hundreds of $ to customer errors continue your loved one shall be harmed because this pharmacist both males made errors! My female pharmacist who left never made those errors! Males make too many mistakes until you receive name of pharmacist who almost killed you with the wrong Rx I shall change my review ! read more

This place is not worth going to if you want to spend a lot of money and be questioned about your identity after showing proper identification! I went into Walgreens today to do some last minute holiday shopping for friends.... At checkout my total was a couple hundred dollars, the cashier asked for ID along with the credit card I was going to pay with... which was fine! Once the transaction was completed the cashier asked if she could get the manager out to verify the transaction. WHAT? I have never heard of this... How insulting to be asked if a manager could come out and verify my purchase?!?!?! For what? I already showed proper ID!!! Ridiculous!!! I decided to file a complaint with Walgreens HQ, which I also asked if there was a policy to verify any transaction amount with a manager, which there wasn't, so I'm not sure what they are trying to pull here! read more

This review is for the female, Filipino manager. She must be new because I have never seen her. I have been couponing at this location for 2 years. All the employees and managers know me and have been nothing but professional and courteous towards me. Thanksgiving Day and thr day after Thanksgiving I always go to Walgreens because many items give Register Rewards (RR). This is the day I also stock up on my stockpile. I spoke to the manager to confirm their RR policy. I explained to her that I coupon many RR items advertised today because I donate the items to an organization. I even showed her the letter that was written to me by the Director for Families First. She told me that there is a limit of 1 item for the RR deals. She told me because they did not get enough shipment. So what if there wasn't enough shipment. Do you not want my business? People like me, provide job security for employees and keep their store running. After the manager explained to me that I could only purchase 1 item per RR, she proceeded to speak to her employees about me (very loudly, I must add). Its funny how some managers are in management positions, but have no people skills. read more

This review is for the pharmacy and I'm not sure how to only rank the pharmacy. The pharmacy staff is terrible and slow. I waited in a queue for 20 min to pick up my prescription. There were only 3 people ahead of me, so I'm not sure why it took so long. Once I got to the counter, the lady helping me said she couldn't help me until the pharmacist spoke with me. That's fine. I can understand that, but she wouldn't let me pay. The pharmacist took 10 minutes before he even acknowledged me. Once he was done, he asked that I go back into the queue...which had 6 people in line! Needless to say, I was not happy and my quick trip to pick up my prescription took an hour. This is not the first time that this has happened and I will not be returning to walgreens. read more

This is supposed to be my preferred pharmacy because it has the most convenient location for me personally. But the service is unmistakably disappointing. Had an appt at Martinez health center last Wednesday, 4/19/17 and had Rx sent over by my doctor. Went to pick it up right after my appt and was told it wasn't ready and I asked when it will be and "Mira" said "in maybe 15 minutes". I told her I can pick it up later that day and she was kind enough to offer text notifications so I signed up. She said I would be notified when it was ready for pick up. **i also asked if she can check how much my copayment will be, Mira said $0 copayment.** The day went by and it never became ready for pick up. I called to check and the automated system said it will be ready by "tomorrow after 3pm" how disappointing. Fast forward one week later- Wed 4/26, I come back because I never get notified that it's ready and Mira, again, is confused with something on her screen. She gets help and then I'm told it's available OTC and I can't get it as a generic for my insurance to cover it. So of course they carelessly refer me to one of the aisle for purchase and I asked her for clarity, if there was any way I can get it covered by my insurance because she clearly told me 1) it will be ready soon 2) I have a $0 copayment for that specific Rx. I asked why I couldn't have been told this the first time I came in. Or why no one notified me. Nothing she can do and no alternative to making my experience a bit better. I have a low tolerance to unsatisfactory customer service especially when I can find no excuse for it. I will not come back and will change my pharmacy preferences. read more

What terrible customer service at the pharmacy. I called and was put on hold for 10 minutes, never got to speak with anyone. I had to call another location and beg them to transfer my Rx to this location because I couldn't reach anyone. Once I got there, I waited in line for over 15 minutes to speak with anyone. Once I finally was seen, I was told it would be additional time before my Rx was ready, despite having transferred it to this location before I arrived. I'm embarrassed for the pharmacist because of the people they it behind the cash registers. They are people on a power trip who can fill your prescription in 2 minutes if they want as I have watched many times. Instead they make you wait in horrid lines with your sick children only to let people in front of you with a fast pass which is NOT FAST! My son had pneumonia and the woman told the pharmacist to help me but she told her no she had a fast pass and proceeded to make my 5 year old wait 10 MORE minutes in a line just to DROP OFF a prescription so they can tell me they aren't taking prescriptions!!!!!! The first time I walked in the store I was greeted by Angela. She ask what I was looking for and then walked me directly to the product. Walgreens needs to hire more people like Angela. This is a very nice Walgreens location - ample parking, very tidy and well-stocked inside, in general one of their nicer stores in the area! It's a shame they have at least one knucklehead working for them who is ruining the fun for everyone. BF and I popped into this location around 8:00 on a Sunday night a few days before Christmas, when of course festive candies are everywhere. We joined the small line to leave with our purchases, and found out the gent in line in front us was purchasing a bag of individually wrapped Gingerbread Twix. I know this because the female employee behind the register, instead of ringing up his purchase, picked up the bag and looked at with the same facial expression you might throw at leftovers rotting in your fridge, and said "Gingerbread? Really? Really? Most people buy caramel. Are you sure? Gingerbread? Really?" The poor customer didn't seem to know how to respond. And then she turned to my BF and said the same thing to him, SHAMING this customer for his purchase while he was still standing there! Flustered, he said he wouldn't be buying them and she seemed quite satisfied with herself and continued to make her little eww gingerbread eww comments. The employee's opinion is NOT RELEVANT to anything the customer is purchasing! It's my biggest retail pet peeve, when the cashier wants to discuss what you're buying beyond maybe asking if something I'm buying is tasty or works well. But that's MY opinion they're requesting, not an employee forcing an uncoerced opinion on the world. Not to mention, she just cost her store money because this guy didn't buy this or ANY candy (to make the conversation end, I think) so he left with one less item than intended. Beware the employee who is talking customers out of purchases based on their own personal taste. I sent a message about this to Walgreens corporate as well. Unbelievable. It left me with a very bad taste in my mouth, and makes me in ZERO hurry to return to this store. The only good thing about this Walgreens location is the ample parking. Other than that, the pharmacy staff and cashiers are horrible at customer service. There's a surly pharmacy technician named Melanie and a youngish female cashier who is either very sarcastic and phony or suffers from low intelligence and knows nothing about social cues. She ends up being very annoying. I've been into this location at least half a dozen times in the last few weeks and I breathe a sigh of relief when my transactions are complete and I can walk out of the store. read more

Terrible pharmacy services, except for Sara and the gentlemen who were there this past Saturday who repeatedly called for management help (to which no one responded even though there was very little activity in the drugstore - except for at the Pharmacy counter). I was there the Saturday before, and the line and service again were horrible. Sara was there and doing the best she could to serve people. The other female, it was either Sage or Julia, left the counter to "go help someone in Photo." The person in Photo told her it was a mistake and that she didn't need help. The person Sage or Julia, never returned to the Pharmacy despite the line, she just roamed around the store. I was inline for almost a half hour waiting for my medicines. I called the store afterwards (on Saturday or Sunday 10/20 or 21) and was referred to the male "manager" who told me the person was either Sage or Julia. As a "manager" he could not have cared less. I called last week to order a new prescription. The female who answered the phone told me it would be ready the next day. It wasn't. She didn't even put in the order. I called a couple of days later and received Sara on the telephone. She confirmed nothing had been done on my prescription and filled it for me so that I could receive it the next day - several days following my wasted telephone call and time w/the other useless Pharmacy person. I live 1 mile from here, but never been. Today I wanted a flu shot. Their website shows you can make an appointment for a shot. So I did. Drove there. As I drove through parking lot, saw sign on door OUT OF FLU SHOTS. Sat in my car and called. Phone auto-attendant says "we have flu shots today" Very friendly person on phone tells me she can't get them to change phone message. They are out of shots today, will get some tomorrow. She recommended I call first then just come in. Furthermore, I shouldn't bother making an appointment - it will do nothing to reserve my dose, as they're too busy to check appointments when they're giving flu shots. I.e. an appointment is no guarantee they'll have a shot available. I appreciated her friendly, helpful attitude. Nonetheless, the store has been there almost 10 years without my patronage, and it'll be another 10 years before I'd try them again. I don't rate them badly for running out of flu shots - my rating is based on a worthless appointment system, and lazy,uncaring refusal to fix an outgoing telephone message providing inaccurate information. ...written at Rite Aid where they have flu shots, an efficient working system, and the price is lower than quoted at Walgreens. read more

They fill prescriptions incredibly slow. I have never had a prescription ready in the amount of time I was told, even when it was only 10 pills total. The cashier also made me wait an extra 30 minutes after I had gotten the text that my prescription was ready to be picked up because she thought my name was someone else. I told her i got the text, she said it's not ready yet. She called the other persons name and looked at me so I told her that isn't me. She then rang me up for a different persons prescription after figuring out she messed up and processed it through to where I saw the full name and medication, which is a HIPPA violation. She also never checked my ID and didn't offer me a consultation with the pharmacist for my brand new prescription which is a STARS violation. read more
