This is solely based on the pharmacy. I've tried to stay loyal through the years and always give this place the benefit of the doubt. I'm a nurse and have also been dealing with Covid, but this has occurred way before covid was around. The pharmacy is absolutely terrible. I don't have words to express how awfully run, and how unorganized and mismanaged it is. I am so sorry for the humans that work here and without a doubt listen to these opinions daily. My heart goes out to these poor workers, but I have had enough. Waiting 40 minutes with one person ahead of me and one behind only to get my single prescription after the person behind me really frustrated me. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Buyer beware. Walgreens changed their return policy to 30 days period right after Christmas so they could avoid any returns.....they said it's on the back of receipt. I'm going back to using them for prescriptions only and buying everything else at Target and Walmart. At first glance this place seemed great. Open 24/7, had a few hard to get prescriptions that other places said they would have to order, etc. But there is a dark side to them, and for me it makes it so its a place I don't feel comfortable going to or giving them my business. This December I had two prescriptions to fill. Both times I had to return to get them right or to finish up the process. Earlier in the month I had a prescription for my child's ear infection, a simple prescription of Amoxicillin that they have to add a water to. Well they didn't do that right, as when I got home and it was time to give to my child, the medicine was super thick and the bottles half empty. Reading the side of the container it stated "75ml when constituted" filling up a empty container next to it, it was clear it didn't have 75ML, more like 30-35. I went back and after arguing with the pharmacist she then replaced the prescription with a properly mixed version. Oh Christmas Eve I went to go fill a prescription for my wife, who was at home terribly sick and throwing up. I got there about 9:00 PM and was told "10-15 minutes" so I sat and waited. An Hour later a pharmacy tech asked "Are you waiting for a prescription?" I gave my name and told him I'd been sitting htere for an hour. He then informed me that because of the holiday they wouldn't be able to process my insurance, That I would have to pay Cash ($240) and come back on Monday for them to process my claim. WTF!!! Since when is Christmas EVE, not DAY, a holiday? On top of that my wife's medicine was a box he had to simply take off the shelf and hand to the pharmacist. They have shown a blatant disregard for my time, incompetence in the part of the Techs and Pharmacists. If you value your time, self-respect and safety you would be wise to avoid this place. read more

I have never posted a Yelp review before...but I decided to start now because I must express how I LOATHE THIS PHARMACY. -ALWAYS will wait AT LEAST twenty-thirty minutes, whether you are outside or inside. It doesn't matter what day of the week or what time of day. -Calling on the phone is a JOKE. I could go on and on--you will be on hold for at least thirty minutes, and their phone customer service is terrible. -Twice they have claimed that they have no idea who I am, and that I have no prescription. Only upon my adamant refusal to leave the drive-thru have they checked again and, aha, found me/my prescription. -Once I dropped off a prescription and was quoted 20 minutes until it was ready. I had errands to run, and didn't need it for a few days, and so I came back two days later to pick it up. They could not find my prescription (shocking), and when they finally did, said that it would be at least a week before it was ready. 20 minutes=9 days? I have gone there for at least two years because of its location, but no more. The next closest Walgreens to me, in Santa Ana, hardly ever has any line, and every time I have called, I have only had to wait a minute or two maximum. Avoiddddddd. read more

I came to this Walmart specifically to drop off prescription drugs that remained at my mom's house after she passed away. It was an emotional time and I arrived to find that the dropbox for unneeded medications was full. I mentioned to Mark in pharmacy that I had driven quite a ways and he worked to fix the problem. He talked to management and they identified a way to box up my unneeded medications and hold them for pick up by the recycler. Mark took the time to understand my problem; then mark and the rest of the Walmart pharmacy team on Newport Avenue far exceeded my expectations. Keep up the great work!!! read more

Ok at first I thought this place was great. I always go to CVS, but I stopped here on a whim. Everyone seemed helpful and friendly and escorted me to different aisles to find what I needed. So, when my doctor told me to get a product called Aqua Nil I went to this Walgreen's. They did not have it in stock but said they could easily order it and it would be there the following day. Perfect, I thought. Three days later, no call as they promised they would. I called them back and got transferred around to 4 different employee and spent the majority of my 17 minute phone call on hold or talked to idiots. Thanks, Walgreen's. I keep forgetting how awful the wait time for the Pharmacy is!!! I do not recommend getting your prescriptions filled here unless you have an hour to kill. Drive-thru is the same. The prescriptions are not fully ready and they seem to have a difficult time locating your prescriptions. They're nice pharmacists but they don't have a smooth machine there. solid walgreens at the intersection of irvine blvd and newport. if you need to go to a walgreens this is a super convenient location. i think there is nothing special about the place but is good if you just need to go specifically to walgreens for a certain item PROS: -large parking lot -open 24/7 -drive thru -large store CONS: -slowish employees (but i think more they're just chill, but you may have to wait for them to finish whatever they are doing to then focus on you) -poor photo quality - i had some photos printed from my phone on the walgreens app and when i went to pick them up they were pretty bad quality. so strange because i have done it with other places read more

Pros/Cons time Here is the Con: This place is a disgrace. The Pharm techs rotate through on some sort of "Here one day, gone the next." The Pharmacists are rude and seem all too rushed when they get slammed. I get it an understand the nuisances of Healthcare when crap rolls down hill....from the MDs, the DDS, and the prescription writing monkeys out there. But the thing that really pisses me off about this place is that it is central to a lot of healthcare offices. You'd think that the corporate office would understand the metrics and data showing the volume of customers coming through this location. Compounding the whole thing is Kommifornia's stupid laws further hamstringing employers in actually making their workers work efficiently. I fault the staff in the Pharmacy department - starting with the very rude Asian ladies who have a very short fuse when it comes to the deluge of patients that line up. Following that is the comically disturbing lazy attitude Pharm techs that are present only for the paycheck. (There are some that are getting their experience because they are one day going to become licensed pharmacists - but these specific folks are the ones that are learning from the same shortfused - angry just enough to get to the meal break pharmacists who are burned out or have never made it into a hospital - high $$$ job)...and these folks are making sure your medication is supposed to be ready on-time. The even more comedic thing in this theatrical charade of crap is that let's use an example of 1 patient with 2 orders from 2 MDs that saw a patient on the same day in the same office. One MD wrote an order, and the other did as well. Both prescriptions were dropped off. The tech in the window took them...didn't verify that the orders on the prescription chit on both were complete. The meds were on there, the strength and type of meds including the order that "generic" was acceptable, one of the orders was missing the quantity. You'd think the tech would've caught it. You think the pharmacist or the tech after discovering it would've called the patient or the MD or the MD's office. You think this crap would've been clarified before texting the patient to PICK UP THE MEDS - a goddamn text was sent out to the patient simply stating the prescriptions were ready to pick up. What was crucially important was the meds that were missing the quantity were time sensitive to the day! WHY SEND OUT THE TEXT that things were ready?!? The thing that really pisses me off is that when the patient got to the counter, the tech at the register claimed the staff "called the MD's office...but no one was answering". This was re-affirmed by the little pharmacist who was visibly upset because of the line of customers that had been forming. I go back to metrics and WHO THE HELL HIRES/STAFFS Walgreens?! Furthermore, the thing that has caused my review of this place as a 1-Star $#!t hole was when the office of the Md was called by the patient - the staff at the MDs office was contacted 3 times without fail by the patient...and the staff who the patient trusts wouldn't take something like this lightly. The office staff at the MDs office never got a call, never received a fax from these drones! It took the patient to call the MDs office 1 phone call to get the MD to simply get on the phone and E-X-P-L-A-I-N what to do. The order that was estimated to be done in 1 hour instead took 3 hours to fill only to actually be completed by 3 phone calls from the patient themself. Suffice it to say - the little flustered pharmacist made it to her 30 minute communistkalifornia mandated meal break, right in the midst of this whole debacle. This, leaving this $#!t sandwich for the other little pharmacist who did not receive this news well. The $#!t sandwich topper to this whole episode was right after the staff got the MD on the phone - the pharmacy staff sent the patient home with 3 bags. Not informing them that 2 meds were in one of the bags. For all the "regulations" that pharmacists have....especially with reviewing meds with the patients - God forbid WALGREENS is busy....your service as a client exponentially falls to a level that can only be defined as "$#!thole sandwich" Now to be FAIR - the cashiers and STORE staff, including some of the diligent pharm techs deserve the kudos for sticking it out and trying to deliver efficient service. But they are in the minority. I would take a gander at the other Walgreens you may frequent - because this place seems to be a cut off the same cloth when it comes to the branding of this particular pharmacy company chain! But this place takes a chunk of the proverbial $#!pie when it comes to rude servicing and non-existent customer service. I give them one star only because the pharmacist look like they're over stressed and really trying to keep up. I didn't like that I was told it would be 30min to 1 hour. I checked back with them at 1:15 since I dropped off my prescription and she said I'll get it ready for you now. 2 hours later I check back and they are just bagging the prescription. This place is a life-saver. I say this because I needed printer ink for the next day and it was already 2:30AM. They're currently having a special where they fill up black or color printer cartridges for $12.99 each. I think that's pretty awesome- especially since each one usually costs at least $23 at official price. But anyway, it took them a few minutes to fill up the black cartridge, then it took them about 10 minutes to fill up the color cartridge. While they were pumping the ink in, I wandered around the store and found aisles of candy. I love candy. But that's not the topic of this review, because I started up this review for the ink refills. So if for some horrible reason, your printer ink dies a horrible death like mine did and you need it filled at a cheap price at WHATEVER TIME OF THE DAY, you guys should come here. Now I shall sleep. I have been using this location for at least 9 years. In the last year or so since management and staff changed the PHARMACY is terrible. The service, the Rx...PLEASE COUNT YOUR PILLS/CHECK your medications BEFORE you leave because it may be incorrect. They have shorted me by 7 pills twice on a 90 day Rx and NO ONE informed me. I actually ended up noticing when it was time to refill because the Qty was 83 instead of 90 on TWO Rx...and I have also been given extra pills and I found that out as I sorted them for specific days and had 2 additional pills. Today!!! I am so used to trusting my pharmacy/pharmacist I didn't check the bag when I went through the drive thru and instead of getting my 3 Rx's I only received 2 partial Rx of which they did not inform me I would only be getting partials....who has time to keep coming back to deal with them??? When I called to inform them of the missing 3rd Rx their phone lines were conveniently down. If I'm coming to a pharmacy regularly I AM NOT FEELING WELL HUH? So right now I'm fckn pissed. read more

The pharmacy staff are the worst I've ever came across. They give you attitude, tell you the wrong information about when your prescription is ready for pick up. On 5 different occasions including tonight, I drive 25 min to Walgreens in Tustin as they stated my prescriptions were ready and they stated it wasn't going to be ready for another 5 days. When I called to speak to the store manager they handed me over to a store manager who wouldn't give me her name and said so what's your message. First time to get my meds here and will definitely change pharmacy after this. The pharmacy tech Jeanie could use more training in customer service. One of my med isn't covered by my insurance or will be covered if lower dose, and she just didn't have or wouldn't have the time to explain it better that I have to ask if they'll call me back if/when my med is ready. I could be wrong, but I would think that if you order pictures in a certain size they would cut them for you in that size! Ordered 4x4 pictures and well they were 4x4 pictures on 4x6 paper. Clearly my fault for not checking at Walgreens as I grabbed and took off since I was in somewhat a hurry. I had to get home and cut them into 4x4 myself which I know is not a BIG deal but i would expect them to be already printed that size if that's what I ordered. I love that this Walgreen's is open 24/7 - not because I can't sleep, but because I did tend to stay up until 2-3 a.m. regularly, and it was always nice that there was a place open that I could go for normal, everyday stuff. This is specifically for the drive through pharmacy. This has happened several times: waiting in line is expected but when you have waited 10 minutes and there are only two cars ahead of you and you haven't moved an inch, there's a problem. I think what happens is people drop off their prescription at the same time and then sit and wait for it. If this is the case, they should be told to come back later. I understand if they're very ill or elderly, but sitting in the parking lot and waiting, rather than in line and waiting, would be much more efficient. And less frustrating for those of us waiting. If this is not the case, then what is it? When I pick up my prescription at the drive through, I'm in and out in less that a minute. Waiting any longer than two minutes per car is unacceptable, in my opinion. read more

To be fair, they're are a few people that work at this pharmacy who are helpful, but they don't even come close to making up for the rest of the staff. If you go to this pharmacy and expect to get help with anything, 4 times out of 5 you'll be out of luck. If you have a coupon or insurance request that requires them to hit one extra key on they're keyboard, forget it! I've watch managers scold the staff in front of customers. Often they'll have signs out saying they're not filling scripts that day b/c they're understaffed. They incorrectly ran an insurance claim which caused my medication to cost way more than normal. I informed them that something was wrong and to try again, which got me nothing but a rude attitude. When they finally did try to rerun it, my insurance rejected the claim. I was told, "that's what happens when you try to keep re-running it." That's when I finally said I'm out. If you go to this pharmacy enough, you'll see what I'm talking about. They get plenty of business so apparently they don't have to worry about customer service. read more

Obviously profits are valued over customer satisfaction at the Tustin Walgreen's pharmacy. The small Rx department is chronically understaffed. It's not uncommon to stand in line up to 30 minutes during flu season, with cars in the drive-thru line snaking all the way through the parking lot. The only advantage to this store is that it's open 24 hours, and the staff, though constantly busy and having to face frustrated people, is always incredibly nice. Unfortunately there are no well run, efficient drug stores in Orange County available to those who have the nerve to need help in the middle of the night. read more
