A roadside burger, fresh and hot fries, and a rich creamy milkshake are a necessary part of every trip through the area, and whenever we're between here and Mammoth, Walker Burger is THE STOP. For starters, the vibes are just perfect. The wait in line is where it starts, as the sun is typically beating down as you wait to order in the dirt parking lot, making the shade from the narrow porch and the friendly hello from the order taker your first reward for being here. Usually I'm hungry from a busy morning of breaking down camp, and a 1/4lb Walker Burger with American cheese, fresh veggies and secret sauce on a fluffy fresh seeded soft bun always hits. Summer time usually has me ordering a fresh seasonal fruit shake (peach) but honestly every shake is fantastic and I also LOVE the coffee shakes, which are made with real coffee and coffee beans for extra punch. Fries are always hot and fresh, and best of all they come out crispy without asking for it! Service is always friendly and fun too. What makes this spot special is the garden dining. Picnic tables are scattered throughout a well shaded area offering travelers a cool and relaxing area to enjoy their food. Best burger in Sierra Nevada. Way better than Burger King and In N Out Restaurant outdoor dining was always comfy and you may feel the fresh air. Exterior was totally classic and old fashioned sign. Rapid service and legit milkshakes with burger and fries. Adjacent to US- 395 and a few convenience stores. Highly advise anyone to try this place while you are on a long road trip travel on US-395 to Nevada. read more

Staff was super friendly, food was great, sitting outside at a picnic table watching the sun set over the mountains was magical. I grew up visiting walker burger on trips, I forgot how nice it is to take a little break from rushing around to enjoy the little things. Anytime we are in the area, we always stop here! The burgers, fries, shakes and sides are all 10/10 delish The food comes out quick, and very fresh with the employees being very helpful and nice. The seating area is super nice with multiple tables and chairs which are surrounded by trees and gardens. They also provide blankets if you want to picnic which is so unique and fun! Came to town to visit a friend and ordered some burgers Got a Walker burger and wife got the same. Friend ordered a spicy chicken sandwich. All tasted pretty good. We originally wanted the mushroom Swiss burger but they had ran out. The shakes were good but if you order a shake, just know it's very thick. Place has plenty of seating outside so it's great in the summer. Service is okay. read more

Perfect stop on 395 for traditional road food. Burgers!! Fries, fried zucchini, fried pickles etc... Shakes,malts, freezes etc.. Lots of choices of great outdoor food. This is kind of an IYKYK kind of place. And if you don't know, let me tell you! This place is definitely worth a stop if you are traveling south of Topaz Lake. The burgers are incredible, the employees are so nice, and they have great outdoor seating. Highly recommend. read more

I tried to be quick to get a photo of the food but my guys just dove right in! All of the food is delicious, big servings, and made with love! Every time I visit my family in Bishop and Lone Pine we stop for food. So I've been coming here my whole life and I'm 42. This place has been here forever and never disappoints. The staff is so welcoming and attentive. You'll enjoy sitting in the patio area. There's plenty of seating and lots of fun things to look at. They even sale custom bird houses. So this review has some clout because it's backed by almost 30 years of patronage LOL! Walker Burger is a roadside OASIS! Found this little gem along the road on our way to Reno after driving over the Sonora pass. The atmosphere they have created with the outdoor seating and decorations is very inviting. The ladies working there were really friendly. We ordered their walker burger which is your typical cheeseburger and got a large fry (it's huge by the way) and their ranch dipping sauce was super good. Will definetly make this our pit stop when we head back through town. If your a burger lover you must try it! Their shakes looked good but I was stuffed from the burger to have anything else. Perfect pit stop for a quick yummy burger to eat on our way up to Lake Tahoe. Its one of the few stops that is about an hour or so away from there so we gauged it well since we were starving after a long drive from the OC. The place is small and gets pretty crowded. They have the cutes seating arrangements outside. Benches and chairs all surrounded by farm type decor. The burgers can be pricey but well worth it. Juicy and pretty big in themselves. We tried the bbq burger and my friend liked the sauce but I couldn't get my taste buds to accept it. It was extra sweet in my opinion but it still left my tummy feeling satisfied. We ordered Ortega burger, walker burger, taquitos and the nuggets. Everything was tasty. Plenty of outdoor seating, and the setup is beautiful, plenty of shade. Out of four hamburgers three were not good. The bacon on one tasted like the precooked kind. Three burgers were overcooked. The fried pickles and onion rings were very good, however, the fries were nothing special. One of our party asked to use the restroom and was told "NO". The excuse was that it was close to closing and they had already been cleaned. Now, this was very hard on the person requesting the use of the facility as that person has medical issues (said person is very clean and is careful to leave restrooms clean) I find it inexcusable to deny someone access to a restroom just because it has already been cleaned for the night. All in all we would prefer to go down the highway to the barbecue for a real hamburger. read more

We have stopped at Walker Burger on numerous trips between Topaz Lake and the Bridgeport area and have always enjoyed the meal and ambiance of the garden area. Definitely earns our 5 stars. Our go-to is typically one of the delicious shakes, along with the cheeseburger and krinkle fries. And, we've never been disappointed. During our most recent visit, Walker Burger was very busy as the highway construction on 395 recently finished. The friendly window staff mentioned that our order might take 20 minutes, so we simply enjoyed a table in the garden with our dogs. Despite the wait (actually less than stated), our food was hot and tasty, which I believe demonstrates the Walker Team's pride of ownership and service. read more

This is the perfect spot between Mammoth Lakes and Reno Nevada. I will definitely stop here every time. I travel the 395 because these burgers just hit differently. I think I could've ate three burgers at one time because they were just so good! Also, make sure you get a flavored shake because they offer so many.
