They have revolving specials for both dinner and dessert. They focus on quality ingredients and rich foods full of taste. I was very pleased with the Asian beef appetizer. Went to Walkers for a dinner meeting an Thursday 9/7 at 7pm. I ordered 1 of the specials. Pork center cut tenderloin with an oatmeal and green beans. The sauce on the pork was cold as if it came out of the fridge. The pork was over cooked and tough. All items were good flavor, but everything was cold. Room temp at best. I told the waiter and he offered to take it back. I kept it and suggested he tell the cook the food is cold. He comped me a drink. I was disappointed in the quality of food for what I considered a higher end restaurant. 2 others had meatloaf that looked amazing and said was good. And one had Dover sole that he said was mediocre at best. I'm sure I'll give them another chance. Hope it's better next time. read more

I've been here before, but this trip wasn't a good one. The restaurant was extremely loud and had a bad echo. It was busy, but it was pretty extreme. I ordered a New York strip, and they were out. So I settled for the rib eye. Not good. For $45 there was a lot of gristle and fat. And didn't seem to be that big. Had pickles onions that tasted like nothing but vinegar. The side was burnt to a crisp grilled broccoli. The shishito peppers were really good on a side note. The menu is very unique with a wide range of options for anyone. I ordered the chips n dip, which was chicharrones with fresh made onion dip. I was in the mood for something on the lighter side and went with the Halibut. This dish was so incredible! The fish was cooked perfectly; haven't had fish cooked that well since I was in Puerto Rico. The lion's mane mushrooms were the main reason I chose this dish and they did not disappoint. They were thick and had a meaty texture and paired well with the beet ceviche. The wow factor was definitely the powdered brown butter. Simply amazing dish, I would order it again, but it was so good I want to try everything on the menu now. read more

Out of state guests chose Walkers. Regrettably! Service was slow and food was mediocre. (Prices were not.) The pork ribeye was dry; had it not been for the spiced garnish skirting the "steak," there would have been nothing to recommend it. The prize beef selection was clearly not grass fed. Finally, the strawberry rhubarb pie selected for dessert was another large disappointment. While the filling was good, the crust was incredibly tough and flavorless. If you want to enjoy this place, go there to drink in their lovely bar. Then go home and eat. We paid $280.00 for four meals & 2 glasses of wine. Returning is out of the question. read more

I'm from out of town, and I was looking for a decent place to eat, and found this listed as a top 10. I reviewed the menu online, and choose my meal ahead of time. Unfortunately, they sold out of their specialty Deviled Eggs, so I got the Chicken Wings instead. Absolutely amazing wings, I'm not that sorry about missing out on the eggs. Service didn't ask about how the meal was, so I just tipped poorly based on the saltiness and doneness. Asked for med-rare, got med-well. Seems to be a trend in the area to over season steaks. Walkers is good! I just recently had dinner here. I started with a few drinks and they came out quite quickly! They brought some bread out, it's was not impressive at all. I thought it was very bland, and not the best texture. I'm sure lathering it in butter would have added to the flavor but I passed. I ordered the beet salad. Whipped goat cheese and the berry compote was a great flavor to cute the earth-ieness of the beet and I enjoyed it. I ordered the tofu curry- not typical but I wanted to give it a shot and it was good. The flavors were nice, and a portion. The service was present, it definitely got busy the later the evening got. We have moved to Billings from a big metro area (Tampa), where restaurants are eclectic, creative and flavorful. Walkers with chef Nick Steen has satisfied our foodie craving and reminded us of Tampa...but even better. The dishes were creative with excellent flavor, without taking away from the natural goodness of the main event. I had a filet that melted in my mouth, with roasted vegetables that exploded with their own caramelized flavor from roasting to perfection. we were treated to an amazing desert, even though I do not like lemon anything, especially with deserts which are made to be sweet, this lemon bar cheesecake was absolute heaven in my mouth. Perfect balance of sweet and tart, making it rich in flavor, not in sweetness. I have had really good old fashion cocktails from around the country (we travel a lot), and the one we had had Walkers far exceeds any other we've had. Billings was not our destination but a stop on a longer trip out west, and we could not have loved spending our one night eating at Walker's. We chose it because it seemed to be listed all over the recommended places to eat and the inside pics looked pretty cool. We never expected however to be blown away like we were. The cocktails and food were absolutely incredible. The best deviled eggs we have ever had and two delicious and beautiful salads. I would not recommend it for carryout and I hope their done-in experience is better. My son ordered a beet salad and I ordered the Caesar for carryout. The Caeaar had two small pieces of lettuce a single crouton and cheese for $9. The beet salad for 12 dollars was also a small portion of beets and they forgot to add the goat cheese, hazelnuts and mustard seeds. Loved this place! Stopped in as we overnighted in Billings on our way to Yellowstone. It was a Monday night and a lot of the local restaurants were closed. We selected Walkers because it was open and due to its proximity to our hotel. What a lucky choice! We ate in the bar area and had the most awesome server. Ask for Jacquie if she's working. Especially if you're going on to Yellowstone - she honestly ought to be a travel guide. She's the best! And the food was really good, as well. Bonus! The shishito peppers were outstanding! You know this place is good when I choose my hotel because I can walk across the street to have dinner here. I will eventually work my way through the whole menu but the one thing I have to have, every time is the Walkers house salad!!!! Tonight I tried the Korean beef and ramen. Wow, the beef was so amazingly tender and flavorful. The bread has a sea salt in the crust. I didn't know you could make bread taste better with a little sea salt on the outside but I'm a believer now. I tried to save room for dessert but just couldn't pack it in. BTW I'm not the only one who loves it here. The entire restaurant was packed all night. I sat at the chefs table in the bar (facing the kitchen) and was fascinated by the attention to detail going into every dish. Really solid spot. I was here on biz and swung by on a Monday night to watch my fantasy team finally get crushed. Good times. The atmosphere was lively -- folks from all walks of life at the bar. Dudes in suits (must be some oil men) and folks in baseball caps. Also seems like the spot the to cruise for ladies. Noted for the future. Oh yea, they serve food. Lamb bolognese on point! What can be said about our visit to Walkers?! Plenty! To start the staff was incredibly gracious and friendly. We were there celebrating our Anniversary, but didn't mention it until later, so that wasn't their reason for being so kind. We were sat right upon our arrival, it helped we had a reservation. Our waiter was attentive and helpful with the menu . . . His recommendations were spot on. We ordered the crab cake to start and it was simply delicious. The pickled mustered seed garnish just puts this dish over the top! We followed that up with a Greek Salad with chicken . . . So flavorful, every aspect of this salad just worked together infinitely well. Our main course was the pork shank with whipped potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The potatoes were so light and airy they melted in your mouth. Speaking of melting the pork was perfectly done and just fell of the bone. This dish was heavenly. For dessert we had the crème brûlée and Apple crisp both absolutely fabulous. Best crème brûlée in a very long time, certainly in all of Billings. You can't go wrong with Walkers and we will be back on other occasions or just a simple date night. Finally, a special shout out to our server Patrick. Exceptional service! So enjoyed this place! Was in from out of town and a friend who had moved to Billings about a year before recommended it, and it did not disappoint. I had the house salad, after which we shared the special, which was a wild mushroom risotto. We then shared the Artisan meat and cheese plate. What a great combination! The meats included prosciutto (not the best cut but delicious), salami and duck breast, and the cheeses included a roquefort, goat cheese rolled in a coating I can't recall, and a third cheese -- not great with names this evening, but boy, it was all delicious! The bread was outstanding as well. I had a glass of the Tempranilo which was excellent. This was more than enough for two people; we were satisfied, but not overwhelmed; now that I've read all the reviews for the desserts I wish we'd cut one thing out so we could've saved room! Our server was very nice -- attentive but not too much. She came by to clear once and we said, very nicely, that we were still working -- and she got immediately that we were old friends catching up and gave us some space. Really appreciated that. My only complaint was that the chef was heavy on the salt. Both of our dinners were salty. My husband had the steak and I had the fish (it was the chef special). This hip spot is located just off of Broadway downtown. It has three parts to the food menu - small, medium and large. I stuck to small and had pickled brussel sprouts to start. Tangy and crunchy with good flavor. I combined that with a dark and stormy cocktail and watched the game while the host was kind enough to find a place to charge my mobile. I moved on to the hummus and pita with tomato compote which was a little sweet with the tomato but good none the less. I debated between a wine by the glass as the selection is nice but went back to the gingery goodness of my dark and stormy. We weren't at our table more than 10 seconds before the waitress introduced herself and got us started. The food was spectacular. Honestly some of the most flavorful and well put together meals we've had in a long time. We had the burrata appetizer, 2 small pastas and a burger to share. Each dish was crafted so perfectly with every flavor complimenting each other perfectly. Our waitress's name was Lacey (we think) and she was so kind! I used to love coming to Walker's. But then it seemed as if the food quality has really gone down hill. Went with a friend last week and had the morel appetizer. Delicious. I decided on the pasta special which was ok, and my friend had the meatloaf, which was very similar to Marie Callendars frozen dinner. Except much more expensive. Service was good, just the food has gotten worse and the prices higher. But definitely check out the morels while they are in season! read more
