Best steak I have eaten in years! Under new management/chef since last year and now the best place to eat in the city. Highly underrated. I would put it up against Ruth Chris. Also the beef is locally sourced. Beautiful decor and excellent staff and service. Super friendly.

It's 10pm in Billings Montana, and you want something good to eat, need a well made cocktail, and/or you're on a business account...TEN is where it's at. I've only visited the bar area, always staffed by friendly faces. The cocktails are great and affordable compared to my San Diego. Ambience is elegant, classy, romantic, and dare I say sexy? The crowd not so much... The $29 Steak Frites is perfection! The steak is tender and juicy, fries hot and crispy. I also had the $10 seasonal veggies, which was roasted veggies in a au gratin cheesy sauce, lovely! Not cheap, but worth the money! My pal ordered the $15 Brussel Sprouts, roasted divinely and seasoned to perfection, very shareable. My gal pal's $35 Chicken Mushroom pasta is amazing in a lovely bourbon cream sauce.

So good the fry's are to die these are from 2 of the wine dinners. Excellent drinks. I love the bar side but the ambience is very romantic on the dinner side. Service is always great.

The food is great. Drink options diverse and original. Staff welcoming and friendly. This is one of always solid, always positive places that we visit when in Billings.

Had a lovely dinner for two here two Saturdays ago. The steak was cooked medium rare to perfection. It is about time somebody in Montana knew how to prepare a steak with all the beef around here. The appetizer was the oysters and they were oysters! She likes them. The wine list was extensive and has many great choices. The server was Gene and he was great and very professional. The atmosphere was great for a date night with my better half. The place can be very spendy, but it was a great night just before the comedy show at the theatre. Nice to have a cool evening walk from place to place.

Ribeye mid rare with whipped potatoes and broccolini. Absolutely fantastic.

This place simply does not miss. I am in time for work and staying at the northern hotel and the restaurant is attached to it. I have had the best, Bolognese, a ribeye, and a burger and everything was incredible. Absolutely delicious the bartenders and the staff were super nice. I cannot recommend this place and melt really really good. I am definitely coming back.

I just checked in to the Northern Hotel and after leaving my bags in my room off I went to the TEN bar. It was almost closing time so I ordered an IPA beer on tap and sat down and relaxed after that long drive. The bar is dark and the seats at the table are comfortable. The price for the beer was very reasonable for a hotel bar.

We started with the octopus appetizer and a gluten-free pita. The pita seemed more like a basic gluten-free pizza crust than traditional pita, but that was a minor point because the muhammara was excellent and the pita/crust worked really well with the octopus. They also did a good job accommodating gluten-free needs throughout the meal, via a dedicated gluten-free menu. For dinner, I had the stuffed pork chop, which had a somewhat Greek-inspired preparation. It was served over orzo and stuffed with feta and olives. Really flavorful, well executed, and a more interesting preparation than the typical pork chop. My wife had the duck and enjoyed it as well. We paired dinner with a bottle of Nebbiolo. Their overall wine selection was solid. The atmosphere was comfortable and polished without being overly formal, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Good food, interesting menu, nice atmosphere, and strong service.

Ok, so, we started with crab cakes and oysters. The oysters were East Coast oysters and I'm from NY, so I had to get them. I haven't had raw oysters in over 20 years, and these did not disappoint! They were so delicious, I ordered 4 more, but they only had one more of the one I wanted, and I happily took it. The crab cakes were good, too. So maybe we should have quit while were ahead.... It took an hour to get our meals, and when we did, I was unimpressed. Mine was slopped onto the plate, with mashed potatoes smeared on the side and the sauce dripped on sides of the inside of the rimmed plate. The potatoes looked congealed, like they had been sitting out, and they had, because the food was cold. I asked for it to be heated up, and I'm fairly convinced they microwaved it, because the plate was warm, but the food still wasn't. The steak was extremely salty, potatoes gluely, and the broccolini was bitter and woefully under seasoned. My husband offered to switch plates. He has the pasta, which was also not very good, but at least it was hot. The description said andouille sausage, but it was clearly kielbasa, and the sauce was greasy and separated. Who hired these so-called chefs? Where did they get their degree? Do they even have one? We go out to eat so rarely. I'm a fantastic cook myself, so when we go out, we want the food we order to be better than what I can make at home. Especially at $30 a plate. So, alas, they get 2 stars, for the excellent service, the delicious oysters, and the beautiful ambiance. They apologized profusely and took my horrible dinner off our bill. We are so grateful for that. We will be back for a pretzel. And more oysters.

A casino adjoins next door, but other than peaking in, I didn't play. One of the dealers stopped over after his work and started chatting with us. Everyone at this place was so nice! I read a couple of negative reviews on here slamming the bartenders, and I don't know what they're talking about or if they even reviewed the right place. Our bartenders Chris and Lacy were great! Both were friendly and funny and constantly attentive to our drinks. Lacy even made a fresh bag of hot popcorn just for me. Which, as you'll see in my photo, comes with 4 different salt toppings so you can customize your popcorn. Winning! Chris made me one of his signature specialty shots, the "red rooster" with tequila and Tobasco and it was delicious! Definitely recommend. Also, the entire bar was spotlessly clean. There wasn't so much as a popcorn kernel on the floor, except for the one that I dropped and then felt awkward. This may sound weird to review, but even the bathrooms were spotless. Most bars like this would have filthy, nasty bathrooms without locks on the doors, no toilet paper, and a mess of paper towels on the floor. Ladies, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Not here. Totally clean everywhere. Perhaps best of all, we sat here for a few hours and racked up 10 or so drinks. Our total tab? $21. Toto, we're not in the big city anymore. So cheap. We were impressed with the steaks, but other options feel like they are being phoned in for sure. Got the bacon cheeseburger and fries and the shoestring style fries were limp and had no salt on them. They were hot, so this is just how they serve them. Burger was ok but bun wasn't toasted and the burger patty while not necessarily dry was definitely not juicy either. Another night we got the chicken fajitas. Not a large portion and was disappointed a bit as soon as they set the plate down...especially on the chicken. Vegetables were all raw and if i hadn't forked them around for awhile on the sizzling platter i would have had a combination of totally charred and totally raw veggies. None of it was seasoned. Tortillas were right off-the-shelf probably from Walmart and slightly warmed up. No sides came with it. Steaks were quite good though. Cooked broccoli was good. Garlic mashed potatoes were good but a little gummy because they use red potatoes. So...if you want a good $50-60 steak meal it's a great place to go. But if you or anyone in your party isn't feeling like a steak you'll get way better food for less at the chain places.
