    The Sampler

The inside is nice. It's a fast casual place. Wasn't sure whether or not it was from the outside. We got the sampler plate, with the brisket, two servings of Tritip, and a full rack of ribs. Our sides were the smasher potatoes, rolls, cucumber and coleslaw. I feel like they only gave us one serving of tritip but the server was unsure and also didn't offer to check for us or help. So hopefully we got the right amount. Looked like the same amount of brisket though we only got one serving of brisket. One half of the rack of ribs were cold, the other was hot. They were really good, nice crust, good flavor. Very delicious. The tritip was super super good. Great flavor and cooked nicely. The brisket was just terrible. It tasted like whatever oven it was cooked in. Had a metal taste. Neither me or my carnivore husband liked it. Coleslaw was yummy. Rolls were warm and yummy but didn't come with butter. The cucumbers tasted good but were very soggy. They should slice them differently to prevent so much sog. Overall, place was nice, meat was okay and service was mid. Nothing special overall. Also, all of their soda was very low on syrup and was disappointing!

We've been looking for a good BBQ place. This one didn't quite hit the mark. I would be willing to go in and try the food fresh rather than ordering take out to see if that makes a difference. The BBQ baked beans and loaded mash were delicious. The roll and sweet butter were also yummy. My husband says the salad was good. My ribs were extremely dry. They were actually hard to swallow they were so dry. The honey habanero pulled pork was not my favorite. I only had a few bites. The take out containers could use some work. The packaging is sloppy and the small round containers for the mashed potatoes is an odd choice. Like I said, we'd try it again. Maybe they were having an off night.

After a very disappointing BBQ dinner at ANOTHER place recently I was eager to get some good BBQ and I was not disappointed! We (my wife and I), split the Sampler for $36. It seemed kinda pricy but we got 4 meat options (we had smoked turkey, pulled pork, tri-tip steak and 1/2 rack of ribs), plus 4 sides (we got coleslaw, baked beans and two mashed potatoes). Plus 3 warm and delicious rolls with cinnamon honey butter. It was all incredibly good! The meats were done to perfection. The rolls were warm and melt-in-your-mouth, the beans were delicious and the mashers were superb. We give a mixed review on the slaw. My wife liked it but I thought it was bland and not all that great. But that didn't take away from the overall meal. This was at the old Applebees place in AF so it's a nice atmosphere. I don't like the noisy industrial ambiance of R&R much. Anyway, I thought this BBQ was equal or even better than R&R or anywhere else. We both ate our fill but had about 1/2 leftover to take home so the $36 didn't seem too much for what amounts to 4 meals for us The only thing I could ding them for is 1) the tables need wiping off. We had to go ask them to do it. It wasn't that busy so this was probably something to train the staff to do more often. And 2) I hate Pepsi and wished they served Coke products instead. We opted for water. Free and better for us anyway. I highly recommend Wallaby's if you want some good BBQ food!

    Burned fries

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DONT COME HERE We got the sampler and literally everything was either over cooked or burned including the fries:( do yourself a favor and walk down to one of the other restaurants. I have never had "bbq" so bad

Honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here! They had a somewhat large menu with good prices compared to some of the other places I've been to. I ordered a 2 meat plate with the sweet chicken and the smoked turkey. For the sides I had the cucumber salad and the coleslaw. The bbq sauces that they have are very good and I honestly enjoyed the original bbq the best. The service was solid. We went during lunch time and they were not that busy.

    Cinnamon roll

All employees in mask. Their curbside pickup line went to voicemail so I hung up and went inside but shortly after I walked in an employee saw me and guessed my name and got me my food. Store feels clean and safe. The cinnamon roll was good but had a texture more like a breadstick? Not much frosting or cinnamon compared to how much bread it was. It tasted a little smoky, which I loved. Split it with at least 2 other people!

I really wanted to like this place. I really tried to like this place...but I have to be honest…read more Let's start with the good--the bbq vibe was strong (country music, chalkboards with drawings, bbq smell wafting thru the air). Now for the not-so-good. We usually call ahead because we have a few family members with food allergies. We called ahead and everything sounded kopacetic. We arrived and ordered our food. One member of our 6 person party ate a couple of fries (which she asked about ahead of time due to her allergies) and she noticed something different about the fries. We asked one of the workers if they put something on the fries because they were crispy on the outside. The worker said "I don't think so." We asked if he could check to be sure so he went to ask. He came back and said "it's just crispy coating." So again we asked "can you tell us what is in the crispy coating because we are trying to avoid an allergic reaction." He replied "it's just crispy coating I don't know what's in it." So we asked "is there anyway you can find out what's in the crispy coating?" He replied "there is definitely a way to find out." He goes to the back...again. When he returns he says, "we fry the fries in a fryer with our chicken tenders. I would suggest not eating the fries." His suggestion is well-taken but we still don't know what's in the 'crispy coating.' When we were ordering, one member in my group asked for the two meat plate with brisket and pork ribs. The menu says "pork ribs." The worker said "We don't have pork ribs. We have ribs." So ribs it was. Giving a little room for grace, he was a young man who seemed to be new. BUT if you are at the cash register taking orders, you really should know what's on your menu. As for the food, it was disappointing. Portions were small. For the two meat plate with brisket and sausage, I was given one piece of brisket and a small hot link. To be fair, the menu says "8 oz" for the two meat plate so you kind of know what you're getting. When the order comes out, it looks very small. The brisket was a little on the dry side. The hot link was tasty but small. Buyer beware. TLDR; not coming back

If you're planning to dine there, make sure you don't have any pressing commitments afterward. On both of our visits, we spent an extraordinary amount of time simply waiting to be acknowledged. During our most recent visit, our group sat at a table right in the middle of the restaurant and could have driven all the way to the Draper location in the time it took for a server to notice we were there. We initially assumed the experience was a one-time issue, so we gave the American Fork location a second chance a few months later. Unfortunately, it was almost identical to the first visit. The pace of service was painfully S...L...O...W... The time from when we sat down until we got the special priviledge of actually ordering: 25 minutes! In contrast, the Draper location has consistently been a much better experience and appears to be managed far more efficiently. I'm glad they've expanded into American Fork, and the food certainly makes the restaurant worth visiting. I just hope they can improve their service processes so customers can enjoy a great meal without needing to set aside half their day to do it.

I the tortillas weren't really cooked or heated through very well and there was literally no cheese. When I flagged down the young man who seemed to the shift, he very politely told me expensive and they were cutting back on it. When I showed him my taco with literally 2 to 3 tiny shreds of cheese on it, instead of the cooked cheese shell that I was accustomed to, he was like "oh whoa that's not enough!" no kidding. Additionally, the meat was overcooked, kind of crispy and crunchy as opposed to being tender or juicy. We each got two tacos, we each got the bird and my husband got a Memphis and I got fleeing Californian. None of them were up to smoked taco standards. I tried to leave a review through their website and what I got was "Sorry this seems like Spam so you can't submit this review." How to lose a in one visit. This would be the way. But I'm sad because they really did have something unique going for them, very tasty. Very intriguing mix of flavors. But you gotta bring back the cheese guys you gotta bring back the cheese and the crispy crust and the tender meat because that's why we showed up in the first place.
