This is a fantastic breakfast spot! Great food, huge portions, reasonable prices, outstanding service. Shannon took great care of us ! Has a diner vibe that works well for them. Will def be back and also try for lunch ... or possibly brunch for mimosas and bloody mary's which they also have. *only thing we didn't love was the coffee Overall though , loved this place

The wait time for a table was only a few minutes but the wait time for server to take drink orders was 10 minutes then another 5 til we got the drinks then another 10 before we could order our food then another 40 minutes before the food came out. So we waited for at least an 45 minutes to an hour for food once we sat down. Don't come unless you have 2 hours to spare which is ridiculous for a place this small. Bathrooms were clean and unisex. A lot of local art of the walls and they let you write on certain parts of the wall which was cool. It reminded me of Huey's. Ok so the food FINALLY comes out and they forgot my friends waffle which took 15 minutes to get after the rest of his food, we declined because he was done eating. My food wasn't edible. Chicken was dry and had no season, everything was dry about the Motel California. I literally ate 2 bites and gave it back.

This place is a little too divey for my taste. It's kinda grimy looking, the service was slow and somewhat on the rude side. The first two things I tried to order were unavailable. My husband liked his burger, but I could not have been less impressed.

Wally's is still as good as ever! I went in the other day with my family and noticed they've added a new buffet bar setup. We decided to stick with the menu and weren't disappointed. I ordered the Tito's Burrito, which was delicious. My other half had the Big Bottom Cow, and my daughter enjoyed the pancake with scrambled eggs. The service was excellent--attentive and friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

We went for brunch during the weekend and we got sat immediately! The staff were friendly and very attentive. I definitely recommend ordering the biscuits. They're really good! We enjoyed looking all around to pick out different things on the wall too! Very interesting things to see! We will be back.

This place was a 10/10 for service, food, and engagement. Overheard about this place from some coworkers, so my friend and I decided to try it out before a movie. The food was amazing - it was very homey and the perfect representation of southern comfort cuisine. The owners were so kind and attentive and hilarious! We asked for some menu suggestions and it was almost a comedy routine. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

Let's start with the logistics: this place is tiny, and the "system" they have going on is pure chaos. You order at the counter, they hand you a number, and then employees just aggressively shout numbers out into a crowded room. To make matters worse, people ordering to-go just hog the limited tables meant for dine-in customers while they wait. Management desperately needs to hand out table flags, text people when it's ready, or something, because the current setup is a bottleneck. Between the crowd and the open kitchen, expect to leave the building smelling straight-up like bacon grease. Because they were slammed, it took an absolute eternity for my food to hit the table. If you are on a tight schedule to get out of town, this is not the move. Now, the saving grace is the food--the kitchen definitely has soul. I ordered the fish and grits, and being hardheaded, I added a side of four shrimp just to compare. Learn from my mistake: just stick to the fish and grits! The fried catfish was seasoned to absolute perfection, piping hot, and the grits were incredibly creamy. The shrimp were okay, but not worth the extra cash. Honestly, the food is genuinely good Southern comfort food, but it is heavily overpriced for the tiny portion sizes and the chaotic, cramped experience. I'd probably only ever come back for a call-ahead to-go order, and only if I had zero time constraints.

When we first pulled up, the line was out the door, so we knew it was good. We waited maybe about 15 minutes, and then we were let inside where we placed our order at the countertop. The menu is pretty big, so there were lots of options to pick from. I got the rooster, a fried chicken sandwich, and others got the kitchen sink plate with a Bloody Mary. After you placed your order, you found an open table. All of the tables were clean and accessible. I loved the vibe! Very up beat breakfast theme. Soon after we got a table, our food arrived. It was hot, fresh, and delicious! We all basically licked our plates clean lol. After they drop off your food, there is no 'service' so you do have to get everything yourself. But, I loved this actually since it was casual and it gave you an opportunity to get up and explore a tad bit. When we were done, the 'server' took our plates and we were out the door. Sunrise Memphis did not disappoint. We stopped in around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and didn't experience any crowds or much of a lunch rush. That being said, after eating here, I completely understand why people mention waiting hours on weekends. The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order, grab a number, and seat yourself. I appreciated that they offer both breakfast and lunch all day because it meant we didn't have to choose between the two. I ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave in the middle of a long road trip. Kyler ordered the Kitchen Sink, which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and a biscuit. He asked if he could swap the cheesy grits and biscuit for biscuits and gravy, and they ended up bringing him everything anyway! It was a massive meal, but absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also loved the fun, eclectic atmosphere. The colorful Memphis touches throughout the restaurant gave it so much personality, and there was even a bar area that made me think this would be an absolute blast for brunch with friends.
