In the few times I have shopped here this is what I noticed 1. Prices are good 2. Most people who shop here don't brush there teeth or for that matter even have teeth. 3. Shoppers here are usually really skinny due to meth use or extremely over weight and in the chip section It's not a good place to shop especially in a store in your town. If you run into a friend here you will both be embarrassed and generally not make eye contact. P.S. Walmart should have an in house dentist and a drug rehab program this would double there revenue. Everytime we're leaving the store,they check absolutely everything I buy . I see other people just getting their receipt checked but they always seem to have a problem whenever I buy some something. They seem bias for no reason at all. They give me dirty looks ( certain workers) and it's very uncomfortable. Writing this review for my dad. He went in to get my tire patched and told them we would pick it up later. I called about 3 hours later and they told me that there was too much air in the tire and that tge tire was too old. The tread is great and the tire is fine aside from having a nail in it. They will do anything to try to force people to buy their tires. read more

Staff very accessible, friendly and helpful. Went out of there way to help me find things. Manager explained that just because items were in there local adult did not mean they actually carried them. This is a serious corporate issue and without a clear disclaimer in the Ad, us called bait and switch. He said they are trying to get corporate to get this fixed. Cannot say enough good things about clerks, staff and management. Always someone around to help. A lesson there stores might want to think about. read more

Dropped my truck off at 11 and specifically stated to put my spare back underneath and to call my work when the work was complete. Well here it is 3p and when I call to check in I guess the work was complete at noon. I come to pick up my truck and the spare tire is just laying in the truck bed. I have shopped at this store since the day it opened. The lack of inventory replenishment has been consistent throughout the years. I have written to management, not only about this problem, but I have complained about the cart racks not being close to the front of the store, rather they are located in the back of the parking lot. As such, customers, who are either too lazy, or who just don't care, leave their empty carts in a parking space, or up against one of the cement barriers, protecting a tree. I understand that a Target is going in, a short distance from Walmart. I am very excited about this, as my shopping experience with Target, overall, has been far more positive than my experience with Walmart. read more

I bought glasses in the Optical Dept. less than a year ago; today I've brought my glasses in (broken) expecting them to be covered under warranty. Apparently when I brought them in to tighten a screw the optical department replaced them, thus using my warranty so I would have to purchase new glasses in the future. Went In to get a baby product and the lady that I had to go hunt down (because no one is ever around to help u) ended up telling me to look it up myself in my phone?! It will tell me where it is in store?! This isn't the first time I've not gotten help with something and given a smart ass remark by someone who works there. If I could give zero stars I would. The assistant manager Melissa is lazy and rude. The electronic department got backed up and is messed up with incorrectly stocked prices. I was confirmed twice on my tv price to be rung up and it be more than double the price. The assistant manager refused to talk to me and told a customer service manager to tell me to leave and contact the corporate office. It was so embracing to have a customer service manager apologize to me and everyone in line and say the assistant manager is refusing to come speak to us. On California law it says rules on products displayed in stores must be honored where it is priced and displayed. It isn't a customers fault when a store is having the same issue with the same items placed in the wrong pricing display. read more

Good quality stock and very fair prices. When I need help in finding something, there is a willing employee to assist (although you sometimes need to look around for one). The new expanded grocery section is pretty decent. They seem to have improved upon their books as well. I would probably shop Walmart more often if it didn't take so long, big store, few employees willing to help you find anything and always long check out lines. You have to pay attention, just because it's Walmart doesn't mean that the prices are the best, I can acutally find ad items at grocery stores with lower prices quite often. Walmart is superior to the run down outdated Kmart in Placerville, but the Target in El Dorado Hills offers a more pleasant shopping experience in my opinion. Walmart does have low and out of stock issues, but not as bad as the Kmart. I rather frequent local business and it's also more convenient not to have to go down the hill into El Dorado Hills or Folsom, so I avoid that option more often than not. Though rarely my first choice in shopping, the Placerville Walmart is far nicer than the Walmart down in Folsom. read more

Compared to other Walmarts we venture into, this store was clean and well laid out. Can't beat the prices for t-shirts and shorts while we were camping. Great reduced prices on older music CDs for my son. One thing Walmart has that Target doesn't, good fishing, hunting and camping section. read more

I go to Kmart instead. Funny, ever since Walmart blew into town, the staff at Kmart has been helpful, friendly, almost exceptional.

The lady in the pharmacy area (didn't catch her name, dang it) was incredibly helpful. Showed me the product I was looking for and introduced us to some other products we hadn't heard of. She said she tests out products so she can help give others reviews, I liked that. read more

When shopping at Walmart I don't really expect anything stellar, and this Walmart is far from it. I mainly go here to fill up my 5 gallon water bottles at the Primo dispenser, to get your average household cleaning supplies and some electronics. My biggest gripe about this location is they always seem to not have what I need in stock. I usually use the app to see if they have it, and multiple times it said in stock, it hasn't been. A few times I've asked employees the dreaded "maybe it's in the back" question, and they normally always tell me "no, if we had it, it would be on the shelves". The lines are always long and slow, so I'm really glad they added the self checkouts. If you have something to return, you can expect to wait awhile though, that line is normally full. Not my favorite store, but it gets you by in a pinch. read more

Blew one of our tires on the way home from Sacramento. Called lots of places for prices. Wal-Mart was the cheapest by far even with the extended warranty. Had the tire I needed and the price I was willing to pay. The only complaint I would have is that they are a little slow service wise. I'm heading back to get more tires from them soon! read more

Went to return curtains still in original packaging and was told witout a receipt there are no refunds, no store credit no exceptions. My husband was then told to go home and find his receipt. Besides the fact that they started locking up the razor stuff, the one thing that truly bothers me is they now have people standing at the doors to "check" receipts as you leave. If I could post ZERO stars, I would. And this review is for their Auto Service center. Before they put the wrong tires on the front of my daughters car, there was NO oil leak. After, and after recommending an oil change (which they did not do) It had a massive leak, the oil filter was loose and she lost all her oil. Damaging the engine. They refuse to accept any, even the smallest oopsy of responsibility. And claimed they did nothing wrong and the video shows this. Even thought I never saw the video, they, the management, looked at it and stated it shows they did nothing wrong. Then show me the video and I'll go away. I was told NO, not without a court order. I cannot view the so-called video showing they did nothing wrong. ??????? Since then, I posted my story on FB and I have received a dozen or so similar stories. So my strong recommendation is to avoid the Placerville Walmart Auto Center completely! read more

I only go to this Walmart because it is convenient but after my visit today I will not be going back. They have to check your receipt at the door. I think this is the worst customer service. First you have to wait in line at the register and then you have to wait in line for the person at the door to check your receipt all the while people get backed up behind you to leave even though they have already paid for their items. I know there are thieves out there but I would bet that most of your shoppers, Walmart, are not. Since you have decided to put your honest shoppers into a category of criminals I'm going to now take my business to Target. read more

The very elderly gentleman took us out to our car. I was using one of your electric carts. The items we purchased were not given to us!!!! The man drove the cart back with our items!!!!! We called the store about the items. In the bag was our purchase receipt along with our items!! With all that YOU restocked everything we bought! NO nothing on the stores part! Usually I am writing because I am upset about an experience but this time I had a wonderful experience at Walmart in Placerville California. I ordered pictures for fathers day gifts and they were lost. I was beside myself with sadness and frustration. A few days later I needed to go shopping at Walmart and I wanted to stop by the Electronics department and thank the Manager Shawn for looking so hard for my pictures with no success. When I arrived in the Electronics department I was nicely greeted by Manager Shawn, Eric and Sherri. I then began to explain who I was and that I wanted to say thank you for all your searching. Shawn said , "Let me go check one more time" so he and Eric headed back to the photo area and I had a wonderful chat with Sherri. About 5 minutes go by and Shawn and Eric come out from the back with a small box. They said " this is it!" I literally lost it in utter joy and excitement!!!! I screamed and yelled I was so thrilled!!! I also did a happy dance! I want everyone to know that the Placerville California Walmart Electronics department is top notch! They have amazing employees that are ready to help . I would like to publicly thank Manager Shawn, Eric,Sherri and Robert!!!! If you need help look no further find Shawn, Eric, Sherri or Robert!!! If I could give Zero stars, I would. They supposedly have a computer operated ordering system that when one item is purchased, the same item is ordered. This was explained to me by a Manager. I went to this store to get light bulbs for a fluorescent light fixture for the garage over a period of three weeks. I tried several times to ask employees why they were still out of the bulbs. I never got an intelligent answer in my opinion. There have been other examples of going to get something that was on sale that they did not have in stock. I had the same result as trying to get the light bulbs. I know they are a discount store but does that mean no customer service also? read more

Walmart i would have to say is not the best for people who try to get in and out fast. They never have enough checkers and when they do they are all the slow . But i do always love the one kind old lady that is always on register 3. So sweet yes slow but so sweet. I think walmart needs to hire more people for checkout that are fast and enjoy having a conversation with customers. And they are never there when needed in a department. They always are slacking. So hopefully they will improve on getting a self checkout like the other walmart stores. Would make life so much easier shopping there. read more

Called the pharmacy to check on a prescription. The girl that answered the phone spoke so rapidly that I didn't understand a thing she said. Went here to get my tires balanced because they were the only place open on a Sunday... well let me save you the time, just wait until Monday. I was informed that my tires were improperly balanced when I brought them in (obviously) and they told me they correctly balanced them now. Well when I left the problem had not changed at all. I took my car to another shop and watched them balance my tires and seen that they were completely off balance so I called Walmart for a refund and was told that the reason they give you a lifetime balance is so that they can get the chance to fix their mistakes. I'm sorry but who has time to constantly get their tires balanced? Save your time and money and go to a shop where they know what they're doing and they have better customer service. I guess you get what you pay for, safe to say I won't ever return. read more

Sometimes you get what you pay for. Walmart in Placerville is of no exception. I try and avoid this place at all costs. Prefer going down the hill to Trader Joe's and Costco because they actually act like they want my business. But this Walmart. Sigh. They are understaffed. Most of the staff they do have it is clear they hate their jobs...the service department took several hours the last time I had my oil changed. Almost every time I am in there they only have one check stand open, and the self check is always packed. The isles are a cluster. Most recently I made the mistake of printing pictures on canvas as a Christmas gift. Here i sit, no pictures. I have made no less than 5 calls, and three trips to the store. The calls go unanswered and when we go to the store we are told the parts are on order. Seriously? Then call me and tell me this BEFORE I order and get an email telling me my pictures are done. And the reviews who are saying this place is cheap? Sure. For cheap crap. And god forbid I go to this store after 7pm....it's a tweaker haven. Yeah. Walmart I have been to other ones and know that with some fine tuning it could be a "ok" store but frankly it's a nightmare. Would rather pay a few bucks more to get quality product and good customer service elsewhere read more
