Went to Walmart looking for gardening gloves. There was a female clerk in the garden shop leaning against the wall. I asked her I could find gardening gloves and she told me to check the area in the Men's Dept. Hmmm, so I checked the Men's area. There, I asked a clerk for assistance. She typed something into a small iPad and told me they didn't sell gardening gloves, but they had paint gloves in the paint section. This is crazy, I thought to myself! I know I had purchased gardening gloves at this store so I went back to the gardening dept. and went aisle by aisle until I found a "wall display" of gloves!!! I selected a pair of gloves and headed to the checkout counter. The clerk that I asked for help was still leaning against the wall! This is ridiculous!!! What happened to customer service? I spent 15 minutes looking for an item that was 3 aisles away from the clerk! Come on Walmart you can do better than this! I shop at the Superstore all the time; nothing unusual about this place. Considering customer service is a lost cause! Anywhere from cashiers not speaking or saying thank you to talking on cell phone in the middle of the self check line...I could go on. But...today took the cake!! I went to the gas station; loud music playing very vulgar "noise" cant consider it music. Chick behind counter...in pink hair was counting out or something...was frustrated and threw whatever she had in her hand down. Worst Walmart yet!! The employees shopping would get in your way help was hard to find and the baby formula is locked up so you need to wait for help and they are not friendly. Plus we were told we only could get a gift card at customer service and the line was crazy. Every store that sells gift cards let's you buy at register. We were extremely disappointed in this Walmart for shutting down their paint mixing machine during this Covid-19 era. Paint is essential to those who are at home with nothing else to do. We now have the time to remodel and not being able to get paint is extremely unprofessional and unnecessary on their part to close it down. People are going to shop there anyway, and workers will still be working. They should make buying fabric and paint available for those that consider painting a part of them keeping their sanity during this time. Very disappointed and frustrated. read more

Terrible customer service! Only one person at Customer Service desk on a Friday night and a big line of people? I asked why and after a while a woman came out of the office who I assume was the manager and asked me if I had a problem like she wanted to shame me. She never said who she was. I told her to look at the line and there was only one person? She said she had people on break... She then took to a register after having a whisper session with the cashier. When it was finally my turn the girl took a LOOOOONNNG time to tape a piece of paper to a return and slowly walked it to the baskets. When she finally called me up to the desk there wasn't a hint of friendliness to her after I'd gotten her some help. This store isn't the place to go...try the Midlothian store instead. I had to give it one star because some associates are nice. The service in this store is iffy, but today I saw a customer get assaulted by another customer at a check out register. Treating your customers like liars and thieves isn't a great business model and won't work with retention. Bought some booties for my dog on the 27th, they were half off ($4). They were too small so I tried returning them the 28th, the employee in the front said "oh you can't return Christmas things anymore, it's a decision by management, I'm just an employee of Walmart" Based on this, along with her and her co workers' body language and tone, I guessed they were lying and doing Walmart's bidding. My guess is they did not want to accept Xmas items for return since they (wrongly) assume people buy Xmas items, use them for Xmas, and return them right after for the refund. Even if that were true, which it was not, is $4 worth losing a customer? Is making assumptions that a customer is a liar and thief Walmart's MO? I'm more upset at being assumed to be a person of low moral character than I am the $4. I was not the biggest Walmart fan to begin with, but this really was the final nail in the coffin for my Walmart experience. Super Target can have great finds. Kroger and Aldi are better wholesome businesses with comparable prices. No amount of money can justify going to a store that operates from the mindset of assuming customers are liars and opportunistic. read more

This store is nearest my home. Lots of negative things can be said about this location, but Jeremy in Electronics, is an amazing person and employee. I hope Management sees his potential, and will consider giving him a promotion. I am a 75 year old female, not tech-savvy. Jeremy was kind, professional, very knowledgeable, and a far cut-above some employees, I have encountered at this store. I went in to ask a question at the customer service desk. I walked up right behind a woman who was returning a tea kettle. The man who was supposed to be helping her was rude and very disrespectful. He blatantly stated that he was not going to go back and get a tea kettle for her, even though I had volunteered and gotten one, unfortunately it was the wrong color. I tried in an effort to speed things along. Then he leaned back against the back counter and smirked at the woman in between talking to his female coworkers about their snacks. Fortunately, another customer service representative stepped up and helped the woman, but it was too late for me. If I could give it no stars I would. This has to be the most GHETTO incompetent store I have seen in my entire life. I placed an online order for groceries at 9am for pickup at 4pm. I didn't receive an email, phone call nothing. At 5pm I called the Walmart 800 Customer Service number and I was told that the Cedar Hill (Uptown Village) location was short staffed but my groceries would be ready at 8. I called the location before 8 and no answer. I called the Customer Service number back and I was told by Manager Michael in Denver that the Cedar Hill Online pickup location was closed. I called CH and was hung up on. So I called back and Johnathan told me that 5 people had called off. I really didn't care all i wanted were my groceries or my money back. So Johnathan says he refunded my money, I will keep you posted on that. But that CH Walmart is always unprofessional. There are never any lines open but a bunch of workers are walking around. I love this Walmart's pick up service! I have an autistic child and this is a lifesaver. So far they have never gotten my order wrong and most of the staff is friendly. One time we had to wait a long time for them to come out (30 minutes), but usually they don't take too long. The pickup service is free and it's also useful for busy weekends! Since we started using it we have done it every week. I have been recommending it to everyone I know! read more

I will give this 3 stars just to be fair. Since this is the only Walmart in Cedar Hill, it tends to be overcrowded. I think they should build another Walmart. If you ask where items are, sometimes the employees do not know where they are located or if it's even in stock. You can browse on the Walmart website and try to find out before you do your shopping list. read more

Worst Walmart ever been in line for 30 mins still in line its always like this slow busy dosent matter

There are often employees standing around, and when you need to find an item, you can usually find someone to help. But when you want to check out, you're on your own! Often no checkers, or only one open with a lengthy line. The conveyor belt self checks have been closed because 'not enough employees to monitor them' according to what we were told by employees (standing around). The only self checks are those tiny ones that are not really suitable for checking out a basketful of groceries because there is no place to put the bags after filling them except on the floor or you can go get a second cart to fill. Very irritating. We spend about $200 a week and will no longer go to this store because of the inconvenience. I have put this on their survey. I just called the store to ask the manager if there were any checkers or conveyor belt self checks in service, only to be on hold for 5 minutes before I hung up. Last week we left the store immediately after arriving to find that there were neither checkers nor conveyor belts operating. We went across the street to Kroger and our bill was really about the same as it usually is. Therefore, no real reason to patronize Walmart which is not customer friendly anymore. read more

This place is horrible!! I wanted to know how I could ask someone at the pharmacy a question, so I asked an employee as she walked by. She mumbled something and said she didn't know and kept on walking and didn't even look at me! I felt so disrespected! I have never been that disrespected at any store in Texas! Another time I asked an employee who was wearing her uniform and name tag, for assistance. She said that she did not work there and told me who I needed to talk to, but just pointed me in the direction. She did not offer any help what so ever and didn't even try to help me. Another time a family member needed help at a self checkout register, and when they asked for assistance from the employee there, the employee rolled her eyes as she was being asked for help. I've been using Wal-Mart grocery pick-up in the Cedar Hill, TX location for several months now. My first review was excellent based on the experience and the overall concept of grocery pick-up. The service was great and the staff bringing out the groceries are always kind, pleasant and professional. However, in my last 3-4 orders since November; I've experienced a decline in the overall experience. While unloading my groceries at home, I found that items were not in the bag that I was NOT informed about; I let the first one pass (it was only grapes but nevertheless I paid for them. The 2nd time, it was a family pack of pork chops- I called and had a credit applied to my account. My thrid negative experience was waiting for 1.5 hours in the pick-up parking spot while I watched 1 person run between 11 spots trying to assist everyone. There was a line of cars waiting to get in a spot. WHY would Wal-Mart have one young lady working during PEAK hours after dark running between cars causing customers to wait for hours. I have a bad back, and didn't have a choice but to wait in pain that day. My last experience was on Friday 12/15/17. I arrived during my allotted time at 4:45pm. I called to announce my arrival and got a voice recording advising that the mailbox is full, and the delivery service is closed for the day (at 4:45 pm) My slot was 4-5 pm. Cars were still arriving for their 5 pm pickup. A young lady approached my car and advised me that two people had just quit and it may be another hour before my groceries are ready; however she also informed me that she was getting off work at 6 pm. Let's do the math...my groceries may be ready between 5:45 and 6 pm, but she's leaving at 6 pm. Hmm--do I wait or leave...I chose to return the following morning at 8:00 am . I informed the young lady that I would do so. She was apologetic and nice. I returned the following morning after having to rearrange my Friday dinner plans with my grandchildren. I was able to get the groceries Saturday morning while my hungry grandchildren awaited breakfast. My recommendation is to staff appropriately and especially during high peak times such as 5-7 pm when working people are able to pickup. My recommendation is to compensate your staff with fair wages in order to have employee retention as well as customer satisfaction. Again, I do not hold this against these young people working hard to earn their wages, I find fault within the Wal-Mart corporation for not striving to meet the demands of the consumers that invest so much money in your company. Customer Services extends far beyond the service workers in the store. With all that said, I just placed another order for a Thursday 12/21 pick-up in preparation for a family Christmas party. I hope that the experience is not similar to the past two or this will be my last time shopping at Wal-Mart in any capacity. read more

I went to the customer service desk to price match 4 Sure deodarants on 9/16/2016 with a Walgreens ad for $1. I presented the ad to the checker and she studied it and finally said Walmart did not price match when the ad said $1 off. I said no, the ad is showing the price of the deodorant at $1. She studied it more and still looked confused. Finally she said she would check with another person. This other lady comes up and she is looking at the ad and the deodorant and finally says "Walmart does not price match ads that are associated with a shopper's discount card." I said you all don't price match Walgreens? She said no, not unless the price is listed like the one shown on the mouthwash for $3.49. I said that price also states with card as do the rest of the sale paper. So again, you all don't price match Walgreens ads? She said no. I asked if that change was in the store policy and if I could see it. I looked at the store policy which she handed me and it clearly stated Walmart did honor price matching with competitor stores discount card prices. When I pointed that out, she too looked thoroughly baffled as if she could not comprehend the policy. She says " Let me get my support person. She comes back with a third person who states she can't see the size of the deodorant so Walmart cannot honor the price match. I inform her that it is listed and the deodorant is the same as the picture thinking maybe she can comprehend that. But again, that was too confusing to be accepted as a logical explanation. She made up something due to the store policy clearly refuted every illogical Scenario they could fabricate to refuse the price match. Terrible customer service. It would be nice if Walmart educated their employees on the policies and provided additional training as needed. read more
