Who doesn't love Walmart? Need supplies? Go to Walmart. It's less crowded than Costco and cheaper than Target. I'd pick Walmart over any other supermarket any day. But what makes the Walmart on E. H Street special? I appreciate the organization of their departments. The signs for each department are huge and legible. The store is clean-- pristine, even! There's a shortage of goods at this time, but THIS WALMART is slowly filling up. I appreciate the friendliness of the staff. Even when they are busy, they stop to assist their customers. During the pandemic, they do NOT strictly enforce social distancing. They do not wipe down the carts for you. I am actually surprised that they do not do more to regulate the flow of foot traffic. However, at the check-out lines, they have placed stopping points for customers to wait on. So, I only give 4 stars because they do not enforce the rules. My tip is GO EARLY (7:00 AM) to get the paper supplies you need. If you wait until 8:00 AM, your chances of getting paper supplies are slim. If you plan to go to THIS Walmart, bring your own hand sanitizer and practice the six-feet rule. Happy shopping! read more

This newly opened Walmart Supercenter is well stocked, organized and remarkably clean. All the departments- grocery, home décor, pharmacy and school supply area, were tidy and free of trash. The shopping aisle are very wide, to allow comfortable cart shopping. Free of trash, clutter and rubbish. Excellent lightening throughout the store. Clear and visible signage. This is the cleanest Wal-Mart I have ever been in. They offer amazing deals. Astonishing Rollback deals!!! The associates and cashiers were unbelievably responsive with a willingness to help. All the associates I encountered were well groomed, tidy, and proficient. This Wal-Mart was quite busy at 8pm. Parking is typical. I will be returning soon. read more

July 14th ordered a tv online with the assistance of a store associate in San Diego Store H street. The order had a Same day service, so I thought. Great news! TV never arrived. I called Saturday, and they said tv on the way. Called Sunday same promise( i had to hire someone to sit with my parents to put tv in the house ) , and I'm still getting the run around from customer service. I live in SD and tried to send TV to disabled parents in LA. I called the 1800 # several times only to get disconnected or put on hold. I'm on hold now!!! I paid for a service that I never got. So, out of desperation, I allowed a "supervisor" to assist me with a new order( july 17). He explained that a delivery from the store was not the most effective. All I wanted was entertainment for my elderly parents. Not only was I overcharged for the TV, but he didn't add warranty as instructed. I asked why I didn't show up on my app , He'Manuel' replied, " Give it a minute, it will show up." I'm so frustrated with Walmart !!!!! I will post results. I'm still on hold. I went to Walmart yesterday evening minding my own business. Among my items I had picked up an eyebrow pencil in the cosmetics isle. I wasn't ready to purchase my items at the moment so I was still walking around. As I was about to leave the cosmetics department I hear a rude voice tell out "Excuse me, but you can't leave." I turn around realizing it was the cashier posted in that department. She basically went on and said I wasn't allowed to leave that point unless I paid for my stuff. I had told her that I wasn't ready to pay as of yet because I was still shopping for other items. And then she went on and said "Well the other other customers in line are still shopping." Basically she could have told me that the items from the cosmetics isles were assigned to br purchased there. She failed to say that. Instead she made a scene calling me out in front of everyone and I couldn't leave the cosmetics department with my eyebrow pencil unless I paid for it first before finishing my shopping. Unless I wanted to leave it with her while I shopped. I found that only inconvenient but also ridiculous. NO other store does that. What got to me was that the cashier was rude and unforgiving and basically causing a scene as she called me out in front of everyone in line in front of her. At that point I was really upset and just said never mind and left without an item I honestly really needed. I usually like that Walmart location because it's clean & not too far from where I live (and it's next to Costco). I will longer be shopping at that location of Walmart, I'm seriously requesting taking out the cashier from the beauty/ cosmetics department. If it's to illiminate overflow at the front registers I understand. But the whole rule of not letting guests hold on to their items while walking around the while shopping is ridiculous. And customer service at Walmart needs to be better evaluated and trained to treat each guest with honor 'and respect (I felt that I received quite the opposite). Not making them feel stupid in front of others making a scene. My only regret is that I didn't get the cashier's name. I am really upset with Walmart. I am a disabled senior citizen and it's difficult for me to get around town. So when Walmart started heavily advertising free delivery free delivery free delivery I thought I would give it a try. Everything was going fine for the first several months although they'd leave the bags of groceries on your front porch without any itemization without any receipt without anything notifying what you got what you didn't get etc etc. Then one day I was notified by my bank that my account had been overdrawn completely my last dollar drain. Apparently Walmart had decided to go in there by themselves without authorization without knowledge of what they were doing and just Place holds on your funds or send funds away to unknown third parties I was absolutely distressed I had no idea that Walmart would have the audacity to go into someone's account unilaterally without anybody's authorization and take out money. Then they passed me around almost 37 different customer relations people and nobody would help me even though they said they would do everything they could to rectify this. They have taken almost $1,000 from a well social security recipient and refusing continuing refuse to return back the money I'm very very disappointed in Walmart because I used to go there all the time spent thousands of dollars in their stores and trusted them completely. Where to start... the produce section is the worst ever!! Empty sections, rotten vegetables, and very close to expiration salads. Selection is very limited, not enough cashiers, and self check out has long lines. Now on to the stupidest policy they have!!! All adults must have ID to buy alcohol.. what kind of s$&t is this??? My husband is paying, so I don't carry ID. Then I called a manager and she told me that it's a state policy. Really, really?? I will never return to this store!! So update: corporate Walmart said it is up to each store weather to ask for ID for all adults if cashier assumes that all adults will be drinking!!! What kind of policy is this?? Cmon Walmart workers and leadership- YALL CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT! Please tell me we're not perpetuating the stereotype of the "typical" Walmart employee?! I approached a group of three employees, two of which seemed like upper management, inquiring about some items they have inventory on. I was told something along the lines of: "I'm sorry, we can't find that item. No one can find it in the back storage room- it was logged in to the system, but no one can find it." When I responded with, "that's your answer for why the item can't be located?" I was given the, "it's not the best answer, sorry, but we really can't find it" WE'VE GOT TO DO BETTER THAN THIS! No wonder Walmart workers are getting Covid. We visited this store tonight and all the workers had masks but almost all of them had them pulled down below their mouths. In other words no protection. Worst Walmart ever! Went down to find out why the Walmart card never came. They put it in my son's name! I was told to have them fax my dr. licence to them so it could be corrected. Went over and they told me to go to Kinkos/Fed ex and do it! They made the mistake, not me. The parking lot was so filled with uncollected carts that I could not drive down the aisle. What a mess. The only good thing about this place is the prices- and that's IF you can find the items on the shelf. It's a messy store with workers blocking aisles with their stocking carts. The selection of all items is slim. The lines, including the self check out lines are long and slow. I waited 10 min for the electronics worker to come back to assist me with getting something out of a locked cabinet, another 10 min in the checkout line to make my purchase, and yet another couple min at the exit door for the worker to scan my receipt (What's the purpose of that, anyway??). Horrible experience! Walked in at 8:00, website says the store closes at 8:30. I guess this Walmart makes up their own rules and decides to close at 8:15. MUST READ!! Keep your kids close!!!! An incident happened last night where a white man in his mid 50s eyed my daughter and grand-daughter as they were in the produce section. We shopped separately so I found this out at the end. She noticed him checking her out and felt uncomfortable taking note of his physical appearance. She went to the frozen aisle and he was there, she went to the Chips aisle and again noticed he was there with no frozen food on hand. Now she's getting creeped out. We met in the shoe aisles and I took my grand-daughter to the toy section while my daughter finished up her shopping. She went in line to check out and of all people -that man was in front of her (about 8:45pm) He noticed her so he stood sideways in line so he can have a peripheral view of her. He looked over his shoulder and she stared straight at him To let him know she noticed him. He turned around and asked her "Didn't you have a little girl with you earlier??" She replied with a firm "yes, I did!" Not showing she was shaken up- she waited for him to go to a cashier and she left the line to find us. She told me what had happened and we told the front end manager, Blanka. My daughter gave her his information and said register 4 was where he checked out so they can look at the cameras. Blanka informed us that she will let Loss prevention know and walked us outside and waited until I got the car and picked up my daughter and grand-daughter at the front. The manager Lily is TERRIBLE!! There was a whole display of ceiling fans, different brands, all marked $21 or $23. I picked up 3 of them for our new house. Got to the register they rang up as $88! I asked for the manager... the first manager said "oh that's over stock".... ok, well i have no idea what that means to me! The next manger Lily comes. She said she's the store manager while the store manager is out... First she tried to tell me "the prices just have fallen" . Right... off of all 3 shelves? So then she gave me excuse after excuse. Never said sorry, never offered 10% off, she told me "take it or leave it".... she rolled her eyes, laughed and said "I'm not marking it down". I pointed out several there, not just 1! Several!!! I asked her to scan some, since there was a few brands there and obviously there was a lot wrong, she said she couldn't. You would think if she doesn't have the scanner, she can do it from the Walmart app! I sure did after arguing with her! I asked her for her name, told her i wanted her to write down her and her bosses name, she said "you will need to go to the front, i said no, I'm checking out in garden, she said oh well and walked away... never turned back as i was still talking to her! It's been 3 weeks! I've filed 3 complaints, and still haven't heard back from the store manager! Today i made a complaint with the district manager! The i went to Walmart in eastlake the next day, their fans were perfectly marked correctly... the following day, i went back to H st, and they had rearranged all their fans and marked them correctly! The employees are starting their day and seem happy that it's not crowded. It's clean and organized. Things seem in order. Order sweet order.... First off this Walmart is nice and new inside. Conveniently located. But the workers are lazy. At least the ones I have encountered at the registers at the check outs. Many are inexperienced and possibly new. My one star rating is based on the fact that I always bring in my own reusable bags and the fact that they expect me to bag all my own purchases while watching the prices to make sure it was rang up correctly. They workers at the register should ATLEAST offer to bag the groceries. How are they going to watch me bag everything while I try to watch my purchases get rang up? They just stare at me. Why don't you do your job and help me! I don't work at Walmart nor am I being paid. So do your job! After Christmas I had to return a digital blood pressure kit (brand new still in box) product sold at at Walmart stores. I wanted a manual spygmonanometer actually. So I was closest to this Walmart and went to service desk. It was a Christmas gift from family member out of state. No receipt obviously and not going to deal with troubling my ill Aunt in Oklahoma either. I was told that since their store didn't have record of the purchase she couldn't do ANYTHING for me. She told me I had to go to store where it was bought! Hello? I told her I had shopping to do and a gift card would be fine. Nope! She refused to help me any further. She was not a very happy employee to begin with and she began to make me feel very inferior and almost embarrassed. She thought it was stolen or something I wasn't quite sure of her rude non customer service attitude. I was so mad and thought that was the end of my business with her. Then I thought that she was full of it and should have let me bring it back because it was a product of WalMart. I think she didn't want to walk all the way to pharmacy and wait for someone with the key to unlock the case! Now that's a joke and rather ironic as I had waited many a day for almost 30 minutes for someone to come help me with a $5 item they chose to lock up. Order online, took them several hours to confirm pick up, I arrived for puck up outside and they told me I have to go inside the store. After waiting inside the store for 10 minutes I asked someone at customer service what was happening, they started looking for the person in charge, that was not where he should be, finally he goes inside to look for my order, after another 15 minutes he comes with 1/3 of my order! We do not have the items you order there will be a refund, thats it. I wasted 45 minutes of my time for nothing, no apologies nothing! I think people are entitled to be treated with courtesy . Was looking for batteries and a store manager pointed to where they are. So I get there and it was locked. I asked another associate for assistance and she called someone. I waited a few minutes and I asked the store manager again. He was rude and said I was only waiting a couple of minutes. I then stated why would you direct me to the batteries knowing it was locked up and not call for assistance then. Some of the employees here are nice and will be willing to help you, as far as the managers. They would rather talk and show whatever pictures are on their facebooks to each other than help their customers when we ask for help. I asked one employee to assist me with something I needed help with, who then directed me to the managers.. when I approached them and asked for help they didn't even acknowledge me and just radioed in someone to help out in the aisle I was in. Came to Walmart during their Grand Opening. They were giving out free hot dogs, meatballs, coffee, and prizes from 93.3. Compared to the Walmarts I've been to (Imperial Beach, Eastlake, and National City), this one is really huge. When you walk in, it's the produce section, and the style reminds me of Target's produce section. Lots of people during the Grand Opening, but the prices were the same as the other Walmart. I thought the Grand Opening would offer a discounted sale, but I guess not. They definitely carry more stuff than the other Walmarts. I really rate this more like 3.5 stars because parking & traffic are outrageous because you have Costco right next to you. As for the prices, I find some things cheaper at Costco/VONS/Trader Joe's, etc. So you just have to shop smart. read more

Today is July 11th. It appears like I'm a glutton for punishment from Walmart H St. Chula Vista.July 10th, I was at curbside 5:00p.m. to pick up. Their incompetent employee reported I had picked up at 5:13, that was a LIE!! He came to my car at 5:29. He was trying to be slick & had 2 orders in his cart, he thought he'd kill 2 birds with one stone. What the hell is going on with Walmart's incompetent employees. He reported he completed the service before he got to my car. He charged me $1.90 for 4 bags of smashed groceries. 4 dozen eggs weren't in bags, eggs got out of their box since they were carelessly placed in the trunk w/o bags. Fortunately they didn't break. I always find what I am looking for at this store. It is clean and the clerks are nice and helpful. The prices are great! Especially produce! Anyone writing bad reviews about this store are...lying or just complaining to do so. I have been shopping here since it opened. I like it much better than the one in Eastlake and the one on Broadway. Unfortunately too many ppl go to those stores and have ruined it for those of us who live close by.
