The Mobile order pick up is an absolute disaster! They push the orders thru as if they were complete to meet their delivery times but have the customers sitting outside in their cars for hours waiting for someone to bring out their groceries. After sitting there for hours I decided to cancel my order. I went back to this Walmart to pick up a few items that were in the cancelled order and to my surprise there was an item that I ordered on the shelf, WITH MY PERSONAL INFO STILL ON THE ITEM! I am so livid. Absolutely unacceptable. So much for privacy. I called the store multiple times to speak to a manager and I had no one answer the phone in ANY of the departments. So, my sister and I went to the Walmart on Camino Canada in El Cajon about a week ago. The cashier who was checking us out was also training a young lady who was just standing there smiling. While she was checking us out, she was talking to the young lady and said, "so how long have you been in retail"? The young lady looked at her and said, "no speak English"! My sister and I looked at each other dumbfounded and said, "well how does that work"? Tonight, we were at the same Walmart. The young man who was checking us out accidently rang up something wrong. I brought it to his attention. He said, "oh, sorry about that" and continued ringing up my groceries. I asked him if he fixed what he rang up wrong and he said, "I can't but what I can do is not charge you for your bags". It should be about the same amount ($3.05). I said, "I have (4) bags, that's $0.40. I asked him if there was someone who could help him and he said, "No"! I then asked him for a manager and he said, "they are all on break"! I said, "Well, you might want to tell them to get off break and come help"! He just stood there and looked at me. Meanwhile, the poor lady who put all her stuff on the counter had to take it off and go to another checker. I went to ask another checker if there was anyone who could help and he said, " go to Customer Service"! I said, "Oh, are they still open and he said, " ya, ya, ya"! So, I go to Customer Service and they are closed. Of course they are! I then went and asked the Customer Service Rep at the door if there was anyone who could help me with my receipt that was rang up wrong and he just shrugged his shoulders, and said, "I don't know", maybe come back tomorrow! Good Lord, what is wrong with this place? I then go back to the kid who was ringing me up and he said, "I'm sorry, this is only my second day"! This whole incident was like a comical skit! We laughed all the way home! When I tell everyone about these two incidents, I'm sure they will all be shocked and laugh as well. I will no longer be shopping at this Walmart or any other Walmart for that matter! If you have a bunch of employees who have no idea what they are doing, don't you think there should be someone, like a manager, managing the employees so they can fix what gets messed up and not expect you to pay (literally) for their mistake? Probably my favorite Walmart ever! I have been coming here from the first day it opened. I remeber coming up and wanting to spend all my hard earned money. A lot has changed over the years on the inside but the staff and employees have always been super friendly. The only thing that has never changed is all the smoke you have to endure walking up to the front of the building, with out fail there is always a Walmart employee or two or three living the dream out front just smoking away. I have been to all the east county WalMarts but somehow this one is the only one where smokers kill their patrons. If you love some smoke I recommend you definitely come here and check it out. read more

This Walmart has THE WORST customer service. If you're not from the same culture as they are you get ignored. I had purchased earrings which had to be held at cosmetics (understandably). When I went to make my purchase to cosmetics, I was denied to be rang up because I had "too much stuff". I had under 10 items. Walking by cosmetics previously when I was shopping, I saw her ringing up customers who had CART FULLS of items. Maybe it was because I wasn't the same ethnic descent. Zero/poor customer service. I asked for help from one of the associates, in the baby care department. I told her that there was a lot of inventory missing and I needed child safety locks-when did Walmart expect their missing products to be reshelved? "I don't know...I'm not sure" was the only answer she had. She told me the employees in charge of stocking would know. I asked her if their uniforms said "stocker" or "inventory", she said no?!?! Well, then how the hell am I supposed to know what everyone's job is??? She told me she would find someone to help me. 10 minutes later, and I realized that she most likely blew me off... I ordered an item on Walmart online. I tried to do click in my email the notify button the let them know I was coming in the app, the Walmart App kept saying I did not have any pending orders. The email said to go to the pickup locations at the store and to call to let them know you are there to bring your order out. I did this and tried several times to call the phone number on the sign, no answer. In summary I do not recommend using Walmart pick up: - The app is not working and bug infested - The notification of arrival to the parking lot phone number is useless because no one is monitoring it or responding - There is no one monitoring the parking lot to see if anyone is arriving to pick up their orders, this is very important with the phone number not working In store issues: The worker that delivered my item did not acknowledge me when getting me my ordered item with a greeting asking me how I was, or a thank you when done On the positive side service in store getting my item was fast read more

I have been taking my vehicles to Walmart automotive for 25 years. Never once have I encountered a problem. This department weather in the service bay getting an oil change or new tires or in the store getting batteries, wiper blades, fluids... The manager, Liz runs a tight ship. I credit this department to the manager, Liz. She has been there for as long as I have and the way she runs this department is phenomenal. I don't know Liz personally so my review is strictly based on experience at the store. Let me just finish with this... if I got coupons to have free oil changes elsewhere, I would still pay to take my vehicle to Walmart automotive on Camino Canada in El Cajon. Better selection than most Walmart super markets, produce all looked good nothing that I saw rottened. All meats looked well packaged and nothing looked old, they had really good deals too on meat. Their options in dry goods are better than most stores actually found teas that are Starbucks brand that I haven't been able to find other than Amazon. Many employees restocking and sanitizing in between people checking out. I don't usually shop at Walmart but since we were in the area stopped by to pick up a few things and noticed they had a few good deals. read more

On 7/08/2025 We were shopping at the Walmart on Camino Canada in Lakeside. I was in the spice isle looking for something when an employee that does the shopping for online shopping orders stopped her cart right in front of the shelves I was looking at, I said excuse me and she responded with "I am on a timer and do not have the time to worry about you" I responded back with a well thank you.. She responded back with sarcasm and so I snapped back at her.. I moved on to the meat department my wife went back to the spice isle to get something we forgot and the "employee" was standing there gossiping with another employee.. my wife asked her if she was on a timer that made her be rude towards customers where does she get the time to stand around gossiping about customers.. We continued on when the girl approached us again and tried to hit me with her cart.. I complained to management insisting on them looking at camera footage but do not think anything will be done.. To my surprise, I was able to get in and out within a reasonable amount of time and not get swallowed up by the mobs, but it's coming with the holidays just around the corner. I have shopped at this Walmart since it opened but the last couple of months I have avoided it all costs. Their redesign of the self checkout and the lack of checkers at open lines is ridiculous. Their customer service leaves little to be desired. I stood in line in the beauty corral waiting to pay for one item for over 15 minutes while the cashier waiting for management to do an override on the customer in front of me. I asked if I could take it to another register and I was told "nope you have to pay for it here so you'll just have to wait". All I can say is WOW!! Pressed the "Help" button and was redirected to an agent overseas to resolve an issue with the store up the street! I have been going to the Santee Walmart and have never had a problem like I had the last time I went here! I understand that some changes to protocol will happen with the Covid situation. But that doesn't mean they get to act like Gestapo! I'm a beat up old boy and carry fairly large bag to hold my meds, bandaids, shopping list, heart monitor, etc. A rather rude person told me flatly that my bag was not coming in the store, under 'normal' circumstances I would have taken my business someplace else! Since it's not safe for me to be running around for food items I called for the manager and she showed up promptly (they did manage to keep everyone behind me held up while my issue was resolved) that really made me feel great! They changed my delivery order to pick up. Without my knowledge. I went to their costumer service on the app. They couldn't put it back to delivery....saying it was ready for pick up. I specifically chose delivery the night before. They were not helpful. Now I'm waiting for my refund to my cal fresh card. I wish I could say Walmart is a good store to come to, but it's not! Most stores when they realize things keep getting stolen, hire security or put in more cameras, but NO not Walmart, they lock up all their products and you have to wait 10 minutes for an employee to come unlock the door and then if you want anything beauty/makeup related you'll have to actually check out in that isle (they won't let you walk out of the isle with beauty products) so make sure all your shopping is done or you'll have to pay twice! And then when you pay and put your receipt away in your pocket or purse cause your hands are full & you don't wanna pay 10 cents for a bag & try to leave, the little old people will stop you and say I need to scan your receipt! In this time of COVID, now as positive cases are on the worst rise we've seen in San Diego, you would think this Walmart would be doing better to try and keep their customers and employees safe. You see people wearing masks to go in but pull them down almost just as soon as they get inside, and no worker does anything about it. They stopped counting the number of customers inside too, it's just a crowded mess inside now. Hard to keep social distance. Just this past week, there is word that an employee tested positive for COVID and they kept quiet about it, and will not even tell Employees more details than that. Not even if certain individuals should get tested or not. More employees were exposed and Walmart won't even give them the chance to know if they were at risk? Shame on Walmart. read more

I visited the wireless dept today in search of a new Verizon phone. I worked with Lance and I want to give him MAJOR kudos! He didn't try to oversell me, he looked for the best fit for my needs and went FAR AND ABOVE my expectations. He assisted in complete setup and aided in transferring my data. Liz helped me out in the Auto Center here. She was a manager and got called in because I had an exchange. She came promptly and was super quick with the Return. She was nice enough to let me purchase my other items at the same time. The Auto Center was Clearly Closed and she didn't have to do this for me. These are the rudest and most unhelpful and impolite people on the planet. The checker would not help me when I was asking for help, and when I complained to the manager I was told I was being rude - well bullshit. The checker ran out of bags so I pulled a couple of bags out of my purse that I happen to have and couldn't get them open and she would not help me. I asked like five times for help and she just totally ignored me. I am so frustrated with the store I will tell everybody I know how awful they are. And the manager- please what an ass. This Walmart is getting ridiculous. They closed in the beauty section and make you pay before you exit into the rest of the store. So if I need mascara, I'll have to purchase it there and have a $8 charge on my card then go grocery shopping to have a separate charge on my card from the same store within an hour. It's stupid. They are treating everyone like thieves by sectioning off the store and have people scan your receipt before you can leave. Also, Belinda who cashiers in the back is absolutely rude. She hulk grabbed my bread then set bananas on top of the loaf therefore smashing the bread. When I told her she was smashing my bread she said "No" then tried to move everything.
