This is one of two Walmart Supercenters in Fairfax, Virginia, and it is easily seen and accessed from its Lee Highway location. The parking lot is adequate. In terms of floor space, it easily contains all the regulation Walmart stuff along with everything a customer needs from a large grocery store. Worst Walmart in the area. Long lines not enough cashiers and only had 3 registers open, long lines in self check out as well! Saw management just watch and not do anything till 10 minutes laters as all lines got longer. Management should be fired for " just watching"! Lots of room for improvement. read more

I am so irritated! I went to Walmart this morning to pick up some groceries. When it came time to go to checkout I realized there were no cashiers. Everything is now self checkout! There was one lady wandering between the registers in case someone needed help but when I asked her if it's all self checkout, she said yes. There were people at registers who had huge carts of groceries, etc and you only have the small area to place products. there was a lady in a motorized cart. Very difficult for her to check out. What happened to customer service? Not only is this inconvenient but it also put all those cashiers out of work when times are already tough! Always the almighty dollar takes over. read more

I really drove all the way to this store, waited in line for 10 minutes because there were only two lanes open, only to be told that I can't purchase a bottle of wine after 12 AM. Most things in stock, but you generally have a better selection at the Fair Lakes store, where parking is also a lot easier. Entrance/exit to the parking lot is a real mess, with dozens of vehicles all trying to turn and maneuver all at once....GREAT care behind the wheel is required, every second, to avoid a collision. Excellent prices....you simply can't beat Wal-Mart for saving money. But quality of some goods (such as clothing) is low, grocery has only a very limited choice, most of the employees can't speak English and can't help you need to find something, and the store lacks the smaller carts found in some other stores...you either have to push a big, heavy full-size cart around or carry one of the tote-baskets (if you can find one). So, great for saving money...so-so for everything else. read more

As far as Walmarts go, this one is decent. I personally would not buy meat or produce from any Walmart, but there are good deals on canned goods, soda, etc. The parking lot is a bit cramped. The store itself is better organized than other locations and is reasonably clean. The selection on certain items is limited, but you get what you pay for. It's Wal-Mart, after all. read more

So this review is just for the photo center. I had an old waterproof disposable camera. The kid behind the counter was super polite, but had no clue about cameras. He tried to turn me away by saying they only take Fujifilm cameras (which is ridiculous) because he didn't know what it was. When I pointed out that the disposable camera in the waterproof case was a Fujifilm camera, he took it for processing and then asked a good amount of questions on how it worked. I didn't mind that part of the interaction, but if Walmart is going to have employees working in an area like a photo center. They should know what a disposable camera is and how they work, with or without a waterproof case. When I got the photos back, I didn't get the CD you're supposed to get for free with the prints nor did I get the negatives. It wasn't specifically mentioned about the negatives, but every time I've gotten film developed into prints I've gotten the negatives back. At least they made the prints 4x6 because they apparently by default try to give you a 4x4. I've learned my lesson and will be going to a photography store the next time I need to get prints from a film camera. Side note: Walmart sells Fujifilm film and use Fujifilm paper when they print the pictures. The type of camera/film submitted shouldn't affect anything. read more

This lady kicked us out of the self-service line AFTER we started scanning because it looked like we had a lot of stuff. We had 15items, including 2 supersize packs of toilet paper and 1 pack of 12 paper towels. She just stared at us for few minutes before I had to ask why she was staring at us. It is a Walmart. That's were you should keep your expectations. I was really happy when they opened up this Walmart--it's big and clean but like the Walmart in Fair Lakes (which I call the international Walmart) the cashiers are slow as molasses. The customer service people are exceptionally slow, full of attitude, and are hard to understand between them chewing their gum loudly and speaking ghetto-ish. You should also beware if you use your credit card at this store. I used a credit card I never use but happen to not have cash on hand that day--next day somebody made a fraudulent charge to my card. Coincidence? Not sure yet. If you use your credit card here, check your monthly statement carefully. I'll shop again but maybe pay with cash only, just don't trust this place. read more

Bad service. Ordered site 2 store. Upon picking up i noticed hole in box and scratch on item. I asked them what they would do about it. The asst manager katrinka was not cordial or friendly at all. She seemed rather disgruntled to be working there and overall bossy. She first said the best she could do is offer 10% off. I said i'll take it. Then she said since i paid for it online, all they can do is give me $15 gift card. Don't see what the difference is since they can refund and resell to me.... Didn't want to deal with their poor attitude so took the gift card. People were running around mindlessly at this store. This store is rather depressing inside and one can feel more claustrophobic here compared to the fair lakes store. The parking lot is poorly designed and it's hard to exit the lot. The aisles are narrow...i do not plan on visiting store..worth it to drive an extra 10 min to go to the fair lakes one. Although walmart in general seems to be on a decline losing to amazon and target. I won't be surprised if they end up in the same position as kmart several years from now. read more

I recently needed a prescription filled and the staff here was very helpful and professional. Even with the computer system acting up they were able to get me in and out in pretty good time frame. Plus the store itself is a 24-hour location so I like this Walmart. read more

A lot of people nowadays have nice cameras, who are they to say my photos are professional and then say they require a release form for me to pick them up? What a waste of time. Walmart seems to have a bad reputation but this one was clean, organized, and all the staff I encountered were pleasant. I didn't know my way around so I asked the first person I saw where to find night lights - Juliet at the front of the store directed me to the exact location, with a smile. Shortly thereafter I realized I needed some other thing, and saw Juliet again and again she knew exactly where the thing I needed was. I should have gone to Fair Lakes. This isn't a full "Super Center". The grocery section is smaller and it is broken up, wrapping one length of the store and part of the back. Selection was limited. I did not find several items on my list that would be found in a typical Walmart Supercenter. The layout is just awful. It's like the old layout and the departments make little sense and are hard to navigate. I will not go back to this store. It did seem clean inside even if the shelves were poorly stocked and organized. read more

This Wal-Mart isn't your typically super crowded store, which I really enjoyed. I felt like I could walk the aisles freely without people running into me with their carts. This store sells groceries as well and they pretty much have everything you can get at a normal grocery store and it's cheaper. This store was clean and the shelves were well stocked. What really stood out to my husband and I was the number of checkout lines open. It was nice that they probably had half of their lines open. I'm not generally a Wal-Mart fan but I'd come back to this location. read more

Strictly for the Photo Center: My husband stopped in to pick up an online order for me. They didn't have the order ready--even though I received both a TEXT and an EMAIL stating that my order was ready. My husband was on a time restriction for work--and had to forcefully INSIST that they prepare the item right then & there, which they BEGRUDGINGLY did. I had a coupon that would get me the photo item for free. When it came time to enter the coupon he had, they almost didn't accept it, and didn't think it was legit or that it was a buy one, get one free type of deal, even after reading the fine print. they called the manager over. The female manager on duty was EXTREMELY rude to him and ended up walking away. In the end we got our free product, but it was a fight. Will use the Kingstowne location for all of my photo needs. This is by far one of dirtiest and worst set up in all the walmarts I have ever been to. They are also working on the parking lot which allows one way in and out so literally a traffic jam in lot. There are only two rows of toys for kids. I can't even describe how dirty this place is starting in the parking lot and going throughout the store. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! read more

Just a typical Walmart. Parking spaces are huge and many carts are provided indoors right in the entrance. They have basically everything you are looking for.. like groceries, clothes, beauty supplies. Prices are obviously great. Pretty clean. Not a fan of buying anything other than canned goods, breads, condiments, frozen foods, and cleaning supplies here. The meats kind of scare me. However, my issue is their cashiers. Yes, I feel extremely terrible that they prob only make minimum wage. They are not trained properly... Invest more money into teaching your employees how to properly describe how we use the new CC scanners. The lady couldn't speak English and seemed unaware how to do anything. Ugh read more

I've been to a lot of Walmart's around this area and this isn't the worst and it isn't the best. It's usually pretty clean and most of the staff is nice. I cannot say the same thing about some of the customers but that's not the stores fault. I like coming in late night so it's not as crowded. read more
