During the pandemic this used to be my favorite spot for pickup or grocery delivery. They always seemed to have everything in stocked when other locations didn't. However that has now changed. Customer service lacking Took close to 60min to get a receipt printed (did not receive one from the self check out). No one seems to know how to reprint or available to assist Only 1 person working in the Customer service dept and he seemed to be "newer." Doesn't carry school uniforms! I didn't know that was a thing for Walmart! Waste of trip going all the way across town read more

Well, it's Walmart so I don't expect much. However I'm starting to like this location more than the other location I visit frequently. They always have items in stock. Food aisles aren't as messy as I've seen in other locations. I stayed close to the front of the store and haven't seen the back yet. The setup is different but I'm still able to find items I need. Veggies from this Walmart lasted only for 2 days ‍ They sell "fresh looking" dead veggies & fruits.

I came into this Walmart really quick to get some cupcakes and I absolutely adore the older gentleman door greeter he was so kind. This is a smaller Walmart but the service was phenomenal and all the produce was fresh. There are many employees out there cleaning and adding new produce the entire time I was there. I will be returning to this Walmart next time I'm in the area instead of going to a competitor because it is just such a nice store with great employees read more

People delivering items to cars were very scattered and disorganized. Jada, the person who oversees Walmart Order Pick-Up for the evening of April 1, 2023, was very abrupt, rude, and unprofessional. There was absolutely no attempt to go the extra mile. I sat for over an hour and asked twice to the ladies delivering items if they knew anything about my orders. The first response was, "Okayyyyy'". I told her I that waiting 40 minutes was not okay. I tried to ask if she saw them on the list, and she just responded with, "we can not ignore you." I noticed Jada and another deliverer and asked if they were looking for a car that had been parked across from me, letting them know she drove away. After an hour of waiting, I asked the same girl if she had seen my order, because other deliveries were coming and going. Her response was, "We're coming." Again... this is a minimum of 60 minutes of waiting. I said that I would need to find a manager. The manager, Brian, was effective and helpful. He was able to have my order brought up with Jada and another associate. Apparently, noticing a car sitting there for an hour isn't notable at 8pm Saturday evening, with a scarce amount of vehicles. No one once asked my name or clearly looked to see if my specific order was being sent out. Jada was less than concerned, caring, or professional. She took no ownership or customer service. After her empty sounding responses and overall condescending affect, I my expressed that I was frustrated because she didn't seem to truly care about customer service. She then stared me down as if she was going to watch me. I asked her if she was just going to continue staring me down, at which point Brian, the store manager, had to direct her to walk away. The level of passive-aggressive hostility and unconcern for customer service is so unprofessional, I can not believe she would be considered as a lead of any department. read more

This is not my favorite Walmart by no means, checkout the Walmart in Chesterfield Valley. If I'm in a bind I'll stop in here because it's the closest. It is hit or miss with my staple items trying to find them on the shelves. I prefer to go here at off hours of the day because the parking lot can be a mess and you miss the crowds. If I'm looking for a price there is usually an employee around whom is helpful to assist. I just do not like the congestion in here at times and missing items not replenished on the shelves. Wow. 1 1/2 stars is a little rough. This is a fine Walmart. Nice grocery section, always clean. The people that work there seem happy to be there. Great prices on brand names as usual. Nice outdoor and sports section. They seem very committed to keeping it and organized. My last times here several people that worked there engaged with us and were really nice and offered a better experience. I shop Walmart for one reason and one reason only and that is Dr. Scholl's Custom Fit Orthotic Center. I'm thankful I only have to buy them may-be two or three times a year. Went to this store yesterday and one of the items didn't ring up at the price advertised on display. When I pointed it out to the employee at the self checkout she said I needed to go back and take a picture to prove I was telling the truth. After my last visit to this store I will never go back. Here are my issues with this store: 1. Horrible customer service. Several employees at the self checkout area clearly do not want to work or be there and have deplorable uncalled for attitudes if you need assistance. 2. Instead of assisting customers and restocking the shelves which are ALWAYS out of basic items, employees are seen having LOUD side conversations which each other. 3. Shelves are always out of stock and the inventory you are looking for is probably sitting on a pallet in a box in the middle of the store. Always. 4. Did I say very unfriendly staff... 5. Dirty store that doesn't look well maintained. Disheveled. 6. Some occasions where there are extremely loud customers. Literally screaming back and forth in the aisles. 7. Employees that wear masks on their chins during a pandemic exposing nose and sometimes even mouth? Like why even wear it? 8. Clearly the management is subpar to allow this. 9. Being Followed by what appeared to be (but cannot be certain it was) a plain clothes security person that was so obvious. Also not wearing mask over nose. Not sure if it was a security or not but if you are seen randomly walking around the store where ever I am and you have no cart, no items in your hands? Nobody is coming to this store to casually window shop in the grocery or liquor section. Very uncomfortable and suspicious. 10. Several items in the produce section that were clearly past their freshness timeframe and should have not been out. Never again! read more

My mom and I were getting a cake for a baby shower made. We wanted a filling and our own design on top. Before we went in, my mom called up there and made sure it was okay to use our design, they assured her that it would be perfectly fine. When we walked in Walmart there were 3 workers behind the bakery that didn't give us any attention. After about 5 minutes of standing there 1 worker finally asked us if we needed help. We gave her the picture of the design we wanted on the cake, she immediately shut our idea down and said she needed a professional typed up letter from whoever made this design and the owner of the company stating that it was okay to use the design. (The company that she works for has there own graphic designer, so it wasn't a random persons design.) so we had to leave and were told that they can't start the cake until she brought back a typed out letter. Around 6pm that same day she brought back the letter and the bakery was closed so she gave it to the deli instead. After going through all that hassle we felt like the cake would look really good. We just picked it up 3 days after we ordered it and we are not impressed with the cake at all. The cake looks like a plastic covering over our design and we are embarrassed to let the people at the baby shower eat it.. it doesn't look appealing at all. Not to mention, the background of the design was white, so I'm not sure where the greenish- camo background came from on our design. I would be embarrassed to sell something like this. I placed an order on 7/17 with the deli department at the Kirkwood, MO store via telephone for a 6ft sub ( no special requests) and a 4ft sub for my daughter's first birthday party. I asked to pick it up at 8am, Saturday July 20th. The gentleman who took my order was helpful and said it would be ready. Fast forward to Saturday morning at 8:05 am. I walked into the store, the deli lights were off, but there were two people working at the counter. I waited patiently until the lady asked me "what did I need". I told her I was there to pick up my deli order. She huffed and grabbed her order forms. She found my order and it was only for a 6ft sub. I asked if she could make my 6 ft sub and either make the 4ft or a 6ft while I shopped for other items. She grumbled but said okay. While I was shopping, she overhead paged me twice to come back to the deli. She said she had my order down for 10am and she won't have it ready until then. I explained I would not have placed the order for 10am due to the party time, and she said she took my order, and clearly remembers me telling her 10am. I told her I don't live in the area, and can't wait around that long, if there was there anything she could do for me, and she rudely said no, I was out of luck. I left the store, and called other Walmart's that were closer to me, to see if they could be accommodating. With understanding, 2 other Walmart's could not help be due to the high number of catering orders for the day. I will say, the Arnold, MO store seemed very sorry and apologetic for the treatment I received from Kirkwood, and gave me other options. I tried calling the Kirkwood store twice, but no one in customer service answered. I called my friend, because at this time I was upset and panicking on how I was going to feed my company. She called the Kirkwood store and got ahold of a manager who was very rude, and displayed no customer service etiquette. She told my friend that I placed the order in person, and I have a copy of the order, and I said I pick up date of July 21st at 10am. She then continued to be rude to my friend. I have had many issues with the deli department, and usually call the day before to make sure my order is correct, but I forgot. I am 7 months pregnant, so I would love to see me on a security camera placing an order in person. I have phone records of my calls to the Kirkwood store. I am so upset, and I will never return to the Kirkwood store, if to any Walmart for awhile. I feel disrespected and the customer service I expect is beyond subpar at that store. I would like to speak to someone about my experience, since the manager was not helpful, and now I am left finding food to feed 40 people. Customer service?? What a joke employee was more worried about asking her manager about her 15 minute break then helping me return my item. I was doing an even exchange for an item for the same item and she said I couldn't do that unless it was from the store I bought it from. Thank You Jada! I just moved in town from Ohio, came to this Walmart center I love it! I've placed an order online for pickup came inside the store to get my order the door greeters were great, they escorted me to the back of the store where the pick up was located. Shout out to the mangers over the pick up department as well as the shoppers , I could tell they were oh so busy how they we running all over the place getting the orders out, Jada the manger of grocery greeted me as I waited for my order , she advised me that I didn't have to come inside of the store for my order, that the associates could bring my order out to my car she gave me direction of how to check in using Walmart app when I arrive to the store I never ever did pickup I really appreciate being walked through the process. As she got my order ready 3 different associates ask me have I been helped normally when I go to any Walmart no one ever greets customers or even speaks. Thank you all noticing me, every one was so nice and friendly. They made sure all my items were in my cart even checked to make sure my eggs and bread weren't smashed. Meanwhile, I'm dealing with a delivery driver who tried to come into my house and I have no way of preventing his return to my place on another Walmart delivery. This is a smaller Walmart that was converted to a Super Walmart 2 or 3 years ago. It doesn't carry the selection and stock of a larger store, but is very close by and is the one I most frequently shop at. Pros: Excellent, professional and friendly staff. Management, treat them well because they are what makes or breaks a store! Your door greeters are especially wonderful -- please keep them! Adequate meat, dairy, snack, frozen foods, and bakery depts. Dry goods isn't given as much space as larger Walmarts, but mostly has what I need. Ditto for health and beauty -- not enough space so they stock what they can. Same with the garden, toy, automotive, and hardware depts. Cons: Space -- see above. Aisles are sometimes cluttered and difficult to negotiate, especially early in the morning. I've only seen hand-baskets once; rumor is that they keep getting stolen. read more

Every time we come here buying alcohol, we have to work our way up to the front of the line just to find out the person working the register can't check you out with alcohol. ALL the other Walmarts have a sign on the top of the register by their number stating they cannot ring you up for alcohol... not this one. THEN when you get to the front of the line, they make you get to the back of another line and start the process over. Nothing like waiting in line TWICE and longer than it took you to get your items to purchase. -10/10 read more

Unlike some of the other reviews, I will not be insulting the staff here. I can't expect young minimum wage workers to be completely courteous and appropriate on their own; it's all based on what training and skills they are taught from upper management. That being said, I personally don't mind that the employees around the store stocking and cleaning aren't the most personable. I don't want to be asked "do you need help finding anything" five times within a twenty minute trip, so unless I ask a question, I'm glad they don't bother me. The cashiers can have a bit of a customer service problem. The regular cashiers (not self checkout) are often either distracted or a bit rude. One incident I remember is when my aunt was sick and I had to grab some frozen pizzas for the family. Everyone wanted something different (the little kids like those cheap Totino's; the older adults like Home Run Inn, etc.) so I ended up buying four different brands. The cashier ringing me out started laughing and teasing me for buying so many brands, and even called over a friend to come see. I'm already pretty introverted, so I felt very uncomfortable. I know she was probably just trying to be personable, but insulting a customer's purchases, even as a joke, can really come across as rude. The self checkout cashiers are a bit better, and tend to understand that unless a customer asks for assistance or needs help with the machine, we don't want to have a conversation. The only issue I've had is when I was purchasing quite a large amount of groceries for my family, and so I ran out of space for bags on the little metal table. Normally I wouldn't want to hold up the self checkout with a large purchase and would go to a normal cashier, but the only woman available had a line of five and there were still a few self checkout kiosks open. I put some of the finished bags in the cart to make room, and the employee walked over and scolded me for putting bags in the cart before I checked out. Throughout the rest of the transaction, she stood behind me and watched as I scanned everything. This made me feel singled out and treated like a suspect. In both of these cases, I do not blame the employees themselves, but rather the training from upper management. I think it's important to train employees in what is an appropriate way to treat customers and what is inappropriate. read more

I'm a night owl. I went to this Walmart in the early hours this morning to buy a stand and an office chair that I needed immediately. After asking I couldn't seem to get any help in the furniture department. Since the workers were too busy standing around having casual conversations I decide to figure things out for myself and left the furniture department. Next thing I know the idiot security guard is staring me down like some kind of street thug and following me around. So I make my way to the register to pay for my items (while the guard stands there and watches me like I'm about to rob the place). After I finish paying he follows behind me for a few steps then stops. I have a tendency to not do business with people who antagonize me. I am not one to posted on social media every time I have a poor experience with a company or a service l...but this has really ticked me off! Prior it Christmas I purchased a Walmart gift card at the Kirkwood Walmart for a gift to my parents. My Dad called me this weekend and told me that when he went to check out at his local Walmart the gift card was not activated. He had to explain that the card was a gift and even then the store told him at first they wanted to take the card from him. He eventually was able to keep the card and the receipt showing the error message that the card was not activated. Since this, I have searched for my original receipt but have not been able to locate it. I called the Kirkwood Walmart and was told there was no way I could have obtained a store gift card without purchasing it. After explaining several times the entire story I was told that Walmart can not look up receipts with credit card numbers and they do not review video camera for items under $250. Today I called the Walmart nationwide customer service line. I was transferred twice and eventually received an automated response stating the hold time was 32 mins. I then hung up and called the Kirkwood Walmart again. After being transferred 4 times and being on hold 10 mins I spoke with a manager and was advised that they could in fact look up sales receipts with a credit card number as long as you have the exact date and time of your visit and the exact dollar amount. The manager then stated I would need to speak to customer service and transferred me to that department. Now after speaking with 2 managers and 3 sales reps I finally thought I would get to the bottom of this. While speaking to the customer service department at the Kirkwood Walmart I heard a voice in the background say $50 was not worth the time and effort that it takes to look up receipts and then I was hung up on!! read more

We called this store to inquire about a bag left at checkout. The phone rang for 5 minutes, then hung up. We called back and the same thing happened, on the third attempt we decided we would try and connect to a department, my wife entered 3 for pickup a clerk answered. My wife asked to speak to a manager we have been on hold now for 8 minutes. Stay tuned!!! I used to like Walmart and when I moved next to this one I quit going. I went in today for the first time in over six months and yet again not a single employee was polite. Our cashier didn't even great us and snarled at us to move out items close to her. I get not everyone loves their job but this was insane. I won't go back. was there today at @2:00pm.. live 20 minutes away from this store...got home and could not find my cell phone..had hubby call the store to ask if someone had found it... was on hold for 20 minutes.. hungup.. called back and was told again to HOLD while they paged the customer service mangr... held for 15 minutes AGAIN.. called back and said I was on my way up... went up there and went to the line where i had checked out and my hubby was checking the carts in the lot... I asked the cashier if anyone had turned a phone/had they found a phone... the MGR strolls by at that time and she yells to her "anyone turn a phone in?" The mgr simply shook her head and KEPT WALKING AWAY instead of stopping and asking what the situation was!! Long story short my hubby found my phone .. but the store mgr and staff was absolutely NO HELP WHAT SO EVER... This walmart has gone so far down hill as far as appearance and staff...its sad. They don't care two bits about their customers and half the time they are SHUFFLING not walking.. on their cell phones while walking around trying to look like they are working... talking to each other instead of the customers in front of them and have no common respect..
