This is not my favorite Walmart. I came in to return a product that didn't work out and I was the fifth in line in the customer service area. There were only 2 associates available and one of them didn't really know what he was doing. The lady that was being helped wanted to exchange some items. It took them about 10 minutes to do the exchange. The line was getting longer and longer and I was in line for 25 minutes before a 3rd associate came from his break to help. It's nice to know that there is a mobile return where you can skip the line and do the return on your smart phone. An elderly was upset that someone skipped the line to go to the mobile return. The lady was kind enough to help the elderly with the mobile return. Overall, it took me 30 minutes to return one product. I thought I was in Disneyland for a second. Nope it was just Walmart. read more

The lack of organization and cleanliness at this location is incredibly disappointing. We are well into our stay at home order and most other grocery stores have a very well oiled system in place for the safety and protection of their customers and employees. I only came here since it is next door to Babies R Us, and needed a card, gift wrap and car wax. I understand that this Walmart is getting a makeover to a Super Walmart. Interesting... I don't normally shop here as Vista has a higher city tax, and it gets crazy busy at this location. I find that this location has smaller aisles then the other Walmarts I frequent in Oceanside. Another Malwarts. Woo hoo. Despite being a Vista resident, I usually go to the Oceanside one. I just like that one better. It's also 24-hours, so that's probably something that stands out. This location is Vista is across the street from a Target. Talk about competition. I'll still end up shopping here to get my toiletries (you really can't beat $0.84 Aim toothpaste). For this particular check-in, I came here to buy an electrical fan during the heatwave (before the black out), but they were all sold out, except for the crappy ones. The service is fine... the guy in the electronics section let us plug in the fan and see how crappy it was. Thank God, because it would have been a waste of money to buy that "cool blue" or "lime green" piece of junk. He could have been a douche and said, "we can't open the box," but he was genuine in trying to assist us. The one awesome thing about this Walmart is... drumroll... the bathroom!? I can't explain it, but the ladies restroom looked like it came out of a Nordstroms. Flowers in stainless steel vases on the wall, automatic toilet/sinks/towel dispenser... even the diaper changing station for parents had a metal coat rack and stylish table. They pride themselves on the bathroom, as they should... the place was spotless and didn't smell funky. Strange that a Walmart would earn 4-stars because of this, but hey, they do well what they're here for: being cheap and effective. read more

The walmart.com business has flagged me for some unfortunate reason. I spend alot of money on delivery for groceries and my diabetic needs...i ordered clothing and was denied delivery. During this transaction they stole my money for this transaction and refused to give it back. Workers here on the night shift are absolutely rude. I've asked multiple people on the floor to assist me on getting items that are locked behind the glass in the shampoo and feminine products section. One employee pressed the call button once and told me to wait, and walked away. I waited and no one showed up. I went back to ask if he has the key and he said no and turned his back on me. The people at the check out move so slow, I walked back to the cereal isle and still had to wait for her to finish my order. I have been shopping here for a few months and am really disappointed with the selection. Although it is advertised as a grocery, the shelves are constantly empty and items haven't been restocked. The checkout is also such a painful experience. They regularly have two lanes open with cashiers and the rest is self checkout. So the lanes with cashiers, are a mile long. I think that if you are going to be a super Walmart, you need to have more than two cashiers available and not encourage people with loaded carts to use the scan & go lanes. I will say that the staff is always really friendly and the store is very clean. read more

I went to this particular WalMart (Vista, California) after searching the "Find Stock and Check Inventory" tab on their website that stated this item was in stock on aisle M4. Once there the toy was nowhere in site. Searched around entire department then asked the supposed "Toy Department Manager" Told him my dilemma and he asked if I had the "Item Number"? I pulled up what I had found and he said, "I have no technology experience so I can't help you locate this item in the store." He also stated that item went on clearance weeks ago. I stated I didn't think the app was worth it if it gives out false info....what's the use. I just wasted gas and time coming to get what isn't there...maddening. The grocery pick up is usually very good here - on time and well packed. A couple of times (though I don't remember if it was on a pickup or delivery) they were out of a lot of items (worst was I picked out 4 different types of band-aid boxes, and when we got it they said they were out of all of them), but generally they have had what the website says they have minus one or two items. Shopping in the store pre-COVID was good too - easy parking and friendly staff. Selection is the biggest drawback - would love it if they had oatmilk and more organic and healthy gluten-free items. read more

If I could just put no star I would do it ... Horrible experience! I do the online delivery for a reason I'm not trying to risk my 2 year old and 1 month old to be out with this pandemic . On June 1, 2018, I went to the Vista Walmart (as usual) to cash my Social Security Check which is my only form of income to pay monthly rent and other mandatory living expenses. I am a 74 year old female with health problems or I would be working to help others. I want to send my sincere THANK YOU to Vista Walmart Customer Service employee, "Kathy" who literally saved my dignity due to my physical arthritic problem of not being able to correctly punch in my social security numbers @ Walmart cash processing machine in order to cash my needed livelihood. Immediately, she came to my aid and helped me by correctly punching in my numbers that I had already messed up punching into the machine. If it hadn't been for Kathy, I wouldn't have been able to pay my rent on time! This review is specifically for the Walmart Vision department. I went in on Monday for an eye exam. Mariam fitted me for contact lenses and I am very happy with the service that was provided. She started the appointment on time, very knowledgable about eye care, and seemed genuinely concerned about the health of my eyes. She recommended a daily contact lens for me since I am only wearing them three days out of the week. I never even considered the option but now I think its a better fit for my lifestyle. I have had my delivery order canceled 3 times this week. Each time the order was canceled it was canceled well after the scheduled delivery time. I have called the store several times but nobody will answer the phone. Each time I place an order, Walmart withdraws the funds from my bank account and it takes several days to return the funds. The way the "Maintenance Supervisor" spoke to John on register 2 yesterday, around 12:45pm was absolutely rude and uncalled for. The customer behind me in line even agreed when I opened my mouth and said something. I refuse to support a company who overlooks such hostility in the workplace. For someone to be talked to the way John was, in front of several customers, is absolutely sickening. I guarantee you had I known John personally the "maintenance supervisor" would have my face and choice words forever embedded in his brain. No wonder people are so pissy leaving this place. That ruffled my feathers and I don't even know the poor, eldery man - who seemed very quiet and timid and not the type to talk back. BEWARE! It took 3 pickup attempts to pk up my grocery order! First time after waiting 90 mins they came to my car and told me I would have to come back the next day to pk up my order. I'm not an avid Walmart fan, but I like the fact that they are open late... Kind of. On the night before Christmas Eve at approximately 10:30 PM, I went to buy beer for the next night. I walked to the very back of the store, picked up a case of beer and lugged it all the way to the checkout passing numerous Walmart employees in the process. Only after waiting in line with my case of beer for 5 minutes and reaching the cashier was I informed that they do not sell beer after 10 PM. Kinda stupid considering that I can drive about 1/2 mile to a street full of bars open for another 3.5 hours. Needless to say I was upset. The second strike came when it came time to buy more oil for my old car. I found it convenient to buy online since they never have my brand/viscosity in stock. I received a notification a few days later that my oil was ready for pick up. Once again, at approximately 10:30 PM, I stroll in with the intent to pick up my oil. As I'm logging in to their kiosk, the security guard stops me and tells me that the online pickup is not available after 8:00 PM. As far as I'm concerned, this Walmart will not be given a chance for a third strike. I don't see the value in driving to a store that is open, but cannot help me complete a purchase. read more

Walmart's printing of my holiday card order was a disaster. They were totally off center and cut off, and when I asked for a reprint, they obliged but ran out of paper half way through the order and could not complete the order. I had to submit them to ANOTHER Walmart to complete the order. Long story, disaster results. It was painful. BUT!! In the midst of the crazy poor quality, there was a definite silver lining. A true FIVE STAR experience. Isidrio and Greg in the photo department. Maybe two of the nicest, most helpful and caring sales associates I've ever encountered in any store ever. They went ABOVE and BEYOND to make sure I was being helped. They were genuinely sorry when my order seemed doomed to fail. They called other Walmarts, got me refunds, etc. It was such amazing customer service. I promised them I would write a letter to their management about them. I hope this reaches their managers. You really should keep people like Isidrio and Greg employed. They helped soften the blow of the embarrassingly low quality and helped me come up with solutions. Thank you so much Isidrio and Greg. This Walmart's like any other now it seems with the same cookie cutter layout and somewhat messy product upkeep. Reminds me of K-Mart now that I think of it right before they started taking a tumble in the world. Definitely not like the Walmarts I knew in the 90s where there was pride everywhere in the store for having American made products. Anyway, unlike the Walmart I usually shopped at, this one had a adequate staffing at the cash registers and processing the queue took only a few minutes. I will never forget that night when my tooth was killing me and I couldn't sleep because of it. I became willing to convert to any religion that promised to make the pain go away. At 3 am, that religion was Walmart -- the only place open and selling pain relief medicine. Seriously, though, it is a good store, considering that it offers the same products as other stores do but for less money, and that the store is open 24 hours a day. I have shopped at this Walmart for a very long time and have seen it's decline year after year. If you want to have a cashier check you out then you'll be disappointed. You might see one cashier in a blue moon with a very long line of people waiting to check out. The idea is to have you check out your own merchandise. If you need help then forget that too as you see too many of the employees texting in their phones hidden in a isle or a group bsing. If you do get one assistance attention then that person most likely will be rude. I was looking for help in the electronics section and saw a male employee just standing around. I asked a question and his smart ass answer was that he was on a break and couldn't answer my question. If he was on break then why stand behind the counter? The same guy does the same thing each time I have been in the electronics section. He's on a perpetual break looking through the lens of his glasses. The solution was to go to Target across the street and get away from the bad experience you'll get these days at Walmart. 10 days away from Christmas and not a single employee was on a register last night ,12/15/21. Self checkout lanes had at least 20 persons in each lane. My boyfriend asked an employee named Abdul if he could please get someone to open a register because the lines were ridiculous and people were having trouble scanning their own stuff. Abdul who was assisting a customer ahead of us responded by telling him to open it himself since he's already fucking working.. My boyfriend asked him to please call his manager and Abdul would not call him and told him to go call him himself. So my boyfriend got out of line after waiting for 40 minutes and he went around looking for someone else to help us. Andres was kind enough to walk us over to the customer service area and check us out after dealing with Abdul's poor customer service. Some employees do not have what it takes to deal with customers. I hope this location reevealutes who should be assisting their customer's. Won't be shopping here anymore. Most embarrassing experience. read more
